Sounds like they are making it so by getting these you complete HP events in pve. So there still a set number of HP to get. On-top of being able to get mastery level up.

Need to be said they rarely post during the weekend you cant demand info on Friday not get it and call them out on it Saturday becuse your effectually talking to no one.

It looks to be a bit to expensive but at least they came up with something. Beggers can’t be choosers I suppose.

It’s only a problem for those wanting their next 3 years progression day one.

It’s not even about getting it day 1, for some its about being forced into PvE which many find boring to begin with and then having to do the hero points which is probably the most brain numbing part of PvE.

There should be a way to obtain them in all game modes, it’s not giving anyone an advantage it’s simply allowing player to play the game the way they enjoy and advancing that way. I’m sure most of the players that only play WvW spend at least twice as much time in game than any PvE player because the mode enjoy is an ongoing battle that only shuts down briefly once a week to reset.

You’re going to be doing PvE in this expansion.
No Pve, no guild hall. No guild hall, no arena.

If you try not to, you’d be paying 50 bucks for a trait line.

There is a difference between new content and running from node to node, that and minimizing the amount of PvE would be nice. I plan to do Raids, I plan to assist with the Guild Hall, I do not want to run through ever zone interacting with nodes or killing a mob or two. I wouldn’t imagine that’s exciting even for someone who does enjoy PvE.

It amazes me that this question is asked everytime players play a beta and release hits. For future reference just assume the answer is yes you will lose all beta progress (not to mention it was on your screen the entire time you played beta that progress would not be saved).

Just give us WvW hero points for capturing objectives.
Camps 1 Point
Towers 2 Points
Keeps 3 Points
Castle 4 Points

If we’re honest giving points per capture would actually be harder then running around and interacting with a node, or killing a mob or two. You could take the same objective over and over to farm the points because the Guards the protect the objetive may not be overly tough but they are most definitely stronger than any Hero Point PvE Mob. If you’re worried about WvW farming to many points put a cap on players, once you get 170 or 200 or whatever is equal to the amount you can obtain from PvE then you can’t obtain anymore until such a time that a new spec is released.

I’m sure some PvE players will think this gives us a benefit over them, but that’s because they are uninformed. We have Guards and enemy players to deal with so it could actually be harder or more challenging for a WvW player to get all the points.

The above numbers are just an example of how many HP we could receive per objective so don’t get to focused on those numbers they are just an example.

The glicko system is a failure, not the server system. How matchups are determined is a failure, not the server system. As far as rewards WvW would be just as fast if not faster if all sides agreed not to attack one another and just play musical keeps. There are plenty of ways to make the server system work while avoiding that garbage EotM system.

It’s also a far cry from the lower servers to be able to fill 2 maps, most T5 and below can’t even half fill 1. This is why they need to just delete some servers. It’s pretty obvious that the population is not what it once was and cannot sustain the number of servers available.

As long as Anet remains in denial and won’t shut down servers the population will continue to diminish because let’s face it, whats the point of WvW if theres no one to fight, you can go to EotM if K-Training is your thing.

Chef has always been 400.

There’s been no mention of L500 crafting for Jeweler or Chef. There will be the new Scribe crafting discipline, though.

Ya I was having a moment, I meant 500. They have mentioned cooking skill being upgraded to 500, I’m 99.9% sure they had a blog or a post about cooking being raised and new foods introduced. I really don’t feel like digging atm but I’ll see if I can find it.

Yes, yes you absolutely should. The “system” didn’t assign or place you, you put yourself on a world. So it’s absolutely a player issue. One that can only be fixed by the players too.

The players are to blame, I don’t however believe Anet to be guilt free, it is their job to police our stupidity so we don’t destroy their game. So both are to blame, they should have locked servers long before they did.

Yes, it does occur.
The issue as I see it, is that it is not the fault of the players who are on. If something is capped, it is the fault of the server that lost it.

So we should blame ourselves for imbalance and not the antiquated server system that became obsolete when EoTM launched? Furthermore when megaservers were launched?

I wouldn’t call it obsolete when comparing to a system that people have been very up front about not wanting. There are the few that want the EotM system but we as a WvW community have seen what that system has done, do you want WvW to become nothing more than a Karma train with players avoiding other players ?

Just wondering if people think w/ Revenants if stab will work again or not.

Have to say, I tried to put up with the change (I’m a returning player) and the game is about 100x less fun the way it is now.

More than the revenant, I really hope that the new borderlands will make monoblobbing useless (because you can’t cover the whole map with a single blob)… if the fights get smaller, it’ll probably be easier to survive with the current amount of stability…

IF this is the case then it wouldn’t be as bad, there is still to much CC/AoE and all that crap available but at least without omni blobs it will be somewhat manageable. Call me a cynic but I just don’t have faith that the omni blobs will disappear, first time a pug zerg dies they will merge with the other pug blob and it will continue until we’re back to square 1. Yet somehow it will still be stabilities fault that they died to begin with, it will have nothing to do with being bad, running around in pure zerk, not positioning and trying to face tank as a caster.

Whats actually absurd (no hard facts for numbers but It’s safe to guess this is close to accurate) is that 75% of players are stacked within 3 tiers which leave the other 25% of players spread over 5 tiers. That sir, is absurd, it’s more absurd to ask that they don’t try and correct this regardless of what you think of how the population limits have been set.

Realistically they should set some parameters should they choose to keep 24 servers in NA. The top 3 tiers should be locked and after that let the lower servers start filling, lock them once they hit population caps so the trickle down effect actually works. Or, just delete some servers, we really do not need 24 at this point, it just spreads us out more and is a waste of hardware.

It’s not even the case of wanting them to lock servers, it’s just the most realistic way to get the population to spread out while keeping server structures. As someone who has alts ranging from low Tiers all he way up to T2 it’s fair to say the top 3 tiers really don’t need more people, all 9 servers in that range are fairly healthy.

You won’t get a solid ye/no/maybe unless Anet themselves answer. What we do know for certain is some of the patching has been included over the last couple months. It’s safe to assume that there will be some more patching and once Thursday hits there will be a larger then normal patch.

Assumptions are all the player base can provide for you.

I for one would not wanna see every “n00b” unlocking the elite spec of his class in 5 seconds…

First you don’t wanna “grind” for exotic armor, then you don’t wanna “grind” for Hero Points, then…

I’m sorry you can’t have it all from the moment you logged in. This is not an FPS game. It’s extremely casual friendly as it is already, don’t ridicule it…

This attitude is very anti-WvW. Many of us leveled our characters in WvW and have characters that are pretty much exclusive to WvW. There should be a way to obtain hero points in WvW. Not to mention it’s going to be hell for those with tons of alts.

I find it weird that Anet said in the last Guild Chat that they understand doing certain things like world exploration over and over again on alts is a huge chore. That is the reason they eliminated it from the requirements for the new legendaries. But here they are making things miserable with this 170 point hero point requirement to unlock elite specs. If I have to do that on my main, fine I’ll do it. But having to do it for every single alt character is very miserable.

170?? what the …. Are you ……. serious? My main is ok, but there is no way I’m running through pve maps again with the rest of my 4 alts to achieve 680 hero points.

haha, and that doesn’t even include the optional armor things for each spec. That brings it up to something like 250 hp according to the data mine. But at least that stuff isn’t necessary. But yeah, the 170 is to get the elite spec alone which is pretty outrageous. If it was account bound I don’t think I’d mind, but it isn’t. So you have to run around on each character. AND that’s not the only thing, rumor has it you might have to do some kind of collection thing in pve first before even being able to put hero points toward your elite. Though I think that’s heavy speculation because someone noticed some sort of elite spec collection during beta. And because they said this in their final countdown post:

“overcoming challenges in the jungle to unlock your elite specialization”

So that makes it sound like not only do we have to deal with hero points, but some other thing as well. -_-

That would be interesting. If all of your characters could contribute HPs. I have about 850 HPs between all my characters but none are at the 170 (and the 250 is impossible).

What constantly annoys me are the ‘170 HPs are not big deal’ people. Sure, if you foolishly unlocked all of the skills and traits when given the exact # of HPs to do so and before the 170 was datamined. Or maybe if you have every single HP in the game. HPs basically come in two varieties: ‘this is boring but I will need to grind it on all my characters anyway’ or ‘we who are about to die several times (and still be bored) salute you’.

I have 170 hero points just from playing the game. What are you doing so completely wrong that you’re having a hard time getting hero points?

Played WvW 99.9 % of our game time ? I’m willing to bet those WvW players put in twice as much game time as the average PvE hero, just because you may not enjoy or do not play a mode doesn’t mean you should be left out of an integral part of the game. Now if the Specialization had no baring on WvW and could not be used in WvW then fine but they are very much an integral part of that game mode. SPvP from what I understand is just having it handed to them because of how that mode works which is fine, but why is WvW constantly left out of the fold ? Those are Anet’s true die hard loyal customers many of which spend obscene amounts of time in game, we don’t just run a dungeon or do our dailies and log out.

So to answer your question, we don’t have the means within WvW to obtain all those points, why are you so against players enjoying the game in a mode they like, being on par with everyone else ? It’s not like WvW was a player fabricated game mode.

For people like yourself I would love it if Anet stripped Lengendaries, Specializations, Revenants, and any part of the game that you would enjoy, out of PvE and made it WvW exclusive to obtain, maybe then you would be singing a completely different tune and not be so ignorant to others enjoyment.

And without the PvE crowd paying for the game you would not have a WvW to play, then you would be singing a diffrent tune :-)

Thats quite the assumption you have there, WvW players spend just as much on the gem shop. Do you honestly believe we don’t buy costumes, makeovers, Salvo Matics, Weapon skins, and lets not for get the largest one that PvE players do not need nor use … Gems for server transfers.

The class meta will change a bit but the way Zergs or Large organized play functions won’t really change, unless these are some serious changes to CC or Stability we are going to be stuck with this craptastic Pirate ship meta. I seriously hope they do something soon, I see more complaining in game about Pirate Ship meta being boring and not enjoyable than I ever saw about the hammer train meta. This meta isn’t engaging, and promotes mindless key pounding not to mention huge zergs. I’m not against zerging but mindless zerging in my mind is not the same thing. Players should have to think about what skills they are using instead of throwing down 101 CC’s to cause the Mexican standoffs that continually happen.

The problem is most want a change to nightcapping, which I believe is unfair to those in different time zones or work schedules or whatever the case may be. So there is really only 3 options.

1) Adjust the amount earned during the night – Unfair and bias.
2) Split up the scoring between Day and Night – Not optimal and opens the door to complaints about other time zones such as NA day time.
3) Leave it alone and quit the QQ because it was advertised as a 24/7 game mode so deal with it.

I still think that Anet should kick everyone from ever server. Have a full reset.

They then take the average populations of silver league and then allow players back onto whichever server they want.
But when a server hit’s that average population, it become full, forcing players to choose another server.

If the servers all end up full, they increase the limit by say 1000 for each server, and when they all fill up again repeat.

Have daily matchups for a week or so to get started with what the WvW population is like, then state using the current WvW activity based population on server limits.

Exactly this i the only way to truly fix (well maybe not fixx 100% because that wont happen) servers. The still do not have enough people to sustain 24 servers NA and I’m not sure about EU but I suspect they don’t have enough players to sustain 27, so delete at least (at least is the key words) three servers. I personally would just get rid of everything below T6 possibly T5.

I don’t know why people who play WvW are SO against ANYTHING PvE, I mean I get liking to play against a player controlled target, but me personally, fighting the same servers week after week after week, gets old quick…

I am sure it won’t be over-the-top cost hero-point wise, but it is an elite spec, so I would guess it would be respectably higher than a normal spec unlock, but not so much that people start foaming at the mouth over the cost, lol…

Why were the PvE players so against having to do WvW for map completion ? It’s not like it was even difficult.

This Yellow guy … lol, so by definition running around the world interacting will a node or killing a random scripted mob that can be defeated blindfolded is what makes you a skilled player or the opposite of a nub.

This is why people roll their eyes at PvE players, people like you give them a bad name because you’re so out of touch with reality.

Oh and for the record, you don’t need to do WvW for map completion, you guys cried waterfalls of tears and Anet gave you your way, but ya just ignore that fact while telling WvW players that they should have to do PvE.

I don’t want to complete it at all, been playing since beta, have all classes to 80, most are less then 10% map completion. I have no desire to wander around doing the joke that is open world PvE in this game.

Maybe this a plot to make us play the new map? What will be worse; EB with invisible zergs or the eotm on roids desert map?

Well keep atacking SM to avoid others to have it :P, while this happens keeps are safe from being easilly taken.

It’s not always that easy, when heavily outmanned the larger force can easily hold SM. Currently Servers don’t usually go out of there way to lock down SM, sure they defend it but they don’t camp it, with this change those large populations will camp it because it’s way to beneficial to lose it. Lower Population servers just got kicked in the teeth by Anet yet again.

That’s what happens when guilds move to three servers and try to keep it as balanced as possible. That matchup is the way it is because of players not because of Anet, fitestier. Maybe once guild arenas are available there won’t be a need for fight guilds to migrate to a specific 3 servers.

Well that the thing about GW2 they want you to play all game types at least on some level. Most ppl who wvw have at one point at least pve (in the early days) its some of the newer players who simply want to wvw and never went to pve but are missing out on gold items etc.. and now classes that are something you need to run quest to get. If you need the new classes so badly i bet your guild leadership will help get them because some of the elite spec will be worth having in wvw for guild groups.

That’s some flawed logic, since when has Anet forced PvE players into WvW or SPvP ? They even made it so they don’t need WvW for map completion because the care bears cried so hard. A PvE player can get everything they need for Legendary gear and weapons, Ascended, and pretty much anything worth while without ever stepping foot into WvW or SPvP.

When they start making some real rewards such as Legendary armor WvW or SPvP exclusive then you comments will be valid.

If the pve player wants to pvp or wvw yes as there is no open pvp in GW2.

Pvp of any type only real reward is beating another player beyond that your simply asking for more pve in your pvp.

Argument is fallacious. The “real” reward in PvE then should, by your measure, be beating the encounter. Does anyone believe that if a PvE encounter garnered no loot , or progressed your toon in some way that anyone would do it? Loot, rewards, assets, progression, these are not PvE specific.

I wasn’t going to bother pointing it out, it was pretty clear that he is living in his own little world.

It’s the way their laws work over there, their design needs to be different. I don’t know what their laws entail but I do know they have to run the game differently, not only run it differently it’s actually ran by a separate company that reports to Anet.

Just think of it as China renting the game from Anet, somethings they have been given the power to change while others cannot be changed without Anet giving the OK.

Will legendary Armor will be only lights and skin or stats too?

What do you mean by “lights and skins”

Anyways, it will have the same stats as Ascended armor but with the option to change the stat type on the fly. For example you can be running soldiers stats and should you choose to change you can do so to another armor type such as Clerics. It has to be a predetermined stat setup you can’t choose Power/Power/Power it has to fall in line with armor types that already exist.

The only thing I would argue is your 1 in 4, I would say now it’s closer to 3 out of 4 with the new meta being mostly caster and very few frontline.

This is like throwing a thimble of water on a raging inferno, it doesn’t matter how many times people are told they will still lose their minds. It will be non stop excuses as to why Anet should be 100% bug free.

Its good to see some people understand but there will still be a large amount of people freaking out over the littlest things. Best to just grab some popcorn and read some of the entertaining posts that will pop up. My favorites are when players start explaining how different games launched flawlessly, because that has ever happened.

Constructive Feedback: WvW Reset Time Change

I like the change but that’s just my opinion. I’d much rather not try to rush home and get on for reset at the end of my week, I’d prefer to get home and relax awhile without feeling as though I need to be on by X time. It also gives most people that last chance push for the week without having to worry about early morning work.
Besides it will let guild schedule other activities on Friday night, they might see more attendance than a week night.

Its not an optimal time for anyone (maybe oceanic or sea I get the two confused) to play. Even on the West coast that’s still midnight, if the patch takes at least an hour that’s 1 am.

It is however the best time for it to be done because if there is any issues they will hopefully have them sorted out by the time EU hits prime time, and a few hours before NA hits prime time.

So while it may be inconvenient to pick up and start playing, I’d rather them have some grace time to sort out the inevitable issues before we hit prime time.

1 Priciple here ; Actions cause reactions, if someone is not satisfied by the reaction, then the one who caused it has to respond to that reaction.
Every teacher does that.

2 Priciple help ; If the one who caused the reaction, responds, but does not clearify, then the one who reacted to the first action will ask questions about it again.
A never ending circle.

3 Priciple clearify; If still both are in an captive conversation because of the first action, then the reaction has to become clearified.

So as you can see, Anet caused a reaction that i and probaply many other want to be clearified to. Infact revealing that Information for the recipes will do it just like that.
But by counterquestioning a reaction you will earn the exact reaction i showed you, because there is still much to learn in realife also. Does not mean i wanted to be offensive to you, but i simply wanted you to maybe see it for yourself.
Maybe you learned something now.

I have to disagree, no one has to respond, as Anet has shown so many times, they rarely care about the reaction they create.

It’s not that I disagree with your theory, I think they should give us some information, but this is Anet, to expect an answer is unrealistic, it’s better to expect to be ignored and be pleasantly surprised if they do answer.

It would be nice to have an idea, if there is something we could be doing now to speed up the process that would be valuable information. Even if there is nothing to be done currently it allows for people to plan.

The information isn’t needed but then again none of the HoT information was needed prior to release, however, they did give us the information, this is no different. It would simply be nice to know what we should expect.

Honestly, I don’t know what you guys are complaining about. Before the stab change the “control” aspect of the game was next to useless 95% of the time because nothing in the game would ever be affected by it because: stab, RI, invul, defiance etc.

Now it’s “possible” for cc to not be utterly useless in some part of the game in front of hammer trains and it’s a bad news? I’m sorry but I too have to deal with cc too and if you can’t, you do something seriously wrong with all the tools you have and the wave of “stab 1, 2, 3, 4” ppl call upon in larger fights. I mean how much total immunity do you need?

What’s next? Remove “control” from the “damage, support control” triad the game is supposedly based on? The control aspect in this game is already super crippled.

The problem is there is way to much CC, CC was useless before because once again players just blew everything on Inc. Go watch a video of any organized guild fighting, they timed their CC’s for full effectiveness. The hammer train running everyone over is a kitten poor excuse as well, if stability was so frequent and easy to come by then you should have never had a problem with a hammer train. My guess is just like CC everyone was just mashing their keys blowing all their stability and everything that would help in an unorganized cluster kitten and therefore Stab is OP.

Most players are bad, that was the biggest problem with stability. Now the sheer number of CC’s in the game have made it so even when cycling stab it’s pretty much a waste of time.

And how does it work blasting a water area for heal? Is valuable heal or what? I never understood this and how does it work with healng power?

When it comes to water fields and blasting it’s important to remember that the player who is blasting the field is the one who affects the amount healed with their Healing Power, the personal laying down the field only affects the Regen or intial Heal, not the blasted heal. So the blaster is the one who needs the healing power.

Not to suggest you need to have healing power to blast but you will get a bigger bang for your buck, of course you could just have several people blast, that also works.

I believe they said it will be craf based, Raids will drop mats needed to craft Legendary armor.

Don’t take that as gospel, because I’m not 100% sure but I believe that is what they stated.
