To be honest, i would personally be sad if this was implemented, since it would be a spoiler for what the dragon would look like. The big draw for me is the build up to what each dragon will look like in person. I know Zhaitan was a terrible boss fight, but i did enjoy the big reveal of him for eg.
Jormag im particularly looking forward to seeing what he looks like outside of concept art
One does not simply walk through an Asura Gate..
When they changed the gw1 dervish, my fav char in any mmo i couldnt ever return to him. It wasnt a nerf, more of a change to an unrecognisable class for me. Re learning him after so long being instinctive to his play style, was something i was never able to do.
A nerf wouldnt kill a class for me – i play whichever suits me the most. Atm that means a warrior (altho loving thief as well atm). It would take a major overhaul of the warrior class for me to ditch him, not just a few nerfs here and there.
I think it depends on how committed to skills and builds you are. Casual players prob forgive nerfs a lot more than those heavily reliant on specific builds for specific set ups. In that way, I can see how a negative change to a profession would kill that class for a player.
Melandru is an odd one, which i have yet to understand. Its a boss our server usually ends up doing with half a dozen ppl. Sometimes he morphs us and its a roll over, but other times we get the morph phases and its a nightmare.
The biggest issue is that bosses like Grenth which require coordination and are challenging and lyssa whivh needs coordination too, just get ignored. Finding that balance between difficulty and the community not ignoring the bosses will quite the challenge for the devs
This has been subject to a huge debate in another (which I cant find annoyingly)
The upshot is, the devs are working as a longer term goal of overhauling some of the bosses to be more exciting. I suspect the staticness of the bosses is a coding/bandwidth/technical issue, but it is universally agreed between devs and community that most of the bosses need changing.
On the plus side, they still look awesome!
Dont know if listed, but… SE story final boss death is a terminator 2 tribute.
What can be done of the “triforge” pendant?
Anyone has found any reference to any final fantasy?
I loved the “caen X” reference of witcher games lol
Some of the great swords are clearly Final Fantasy inspired in their skins
Caledon Forest is based on the Roman name for Scotland (Caledonia) if my rubbish history recalls correctly. I have yet to see any caber tossing, kilt wearing warrior zerker NPCs in my travels there though (forgive the stereotype!)

9 out of 3 salvages post patch. Again, tiny sample, but no “nerf alert” screamed either
You’re stealin all my good RNG!
It’s my one day a month. You really should see my RNG the rest of the month ;D
9 out of 3 salvages post patch. Again, tiny sample, but no “nerf alert” screamed either
He doesn’t quote the line, but its the same voiceover guy
Rowdy Roddy Piper tho..now THAT would be cool
What nerf? And if there is, it was only fixed last time based on a wealth of statistical evidence from the community. If you are genuinely spotting an issue, wouldn’t it be easier for them to fix something you can show some evidence for it..?
I’m probably one of the last to cotton on, but having played the new solo instance I only just noticed Magnus is voiced by Jon St. John
aka Duke Nukem
Very cool
Anyway, that’s my contribution to the forums today. As you were!
I actually don’t mind it haha. I hate the cliche zombies, but like how it feels as if you are actually in enemy territory. Wouldn’t surprise me if I’m in the minority though.
A minority of two of us

To be fair.. Challenging bosses were requested. Perm content was requested. This ticks both boxes. Yes it is requires teamwork and coordination, but isnt this what a hundred threads have asked for?
It could just be dragonbash mind distracting players. I suspect post festival they will look and if it isnt being touched, adjusted the scaling on it so less players are needed. Or the time between invasion is lengthened
I got utterly fed up grinding t6 mats for kraitkin, so i gave all my t6 mats away to a guildie who was closer and was getting understandably frustrated with the grind. Now i have more fun not grinding, she nearly has her bow and i will soon own her soul…
Muahaha…..
It was a marketing phrase to hype the game that far too many read into as gospel. It basically meant you werent tied down to a single linear progression, supported by the multiple xp channels, no grind for gear and scaling down of lvls to the appropriate zone.
Thats it, nothing more. If ppl felt the need the read or want more, that is a diff matter.
You are right that the game has become tied too much to rewards snd the demands for them. Whether that is a design flaw in the content or just over demanding players would be a diff discussion, but the game has fallen into a bit of a trap, where rng and grinding can rear its ugly head needlessly. Yes, theres nothing you need to have, but there are better ways for players to obtain the fun skins etc and still generate revenue for the company.
Ultimately this is a game less than a year in. No mmo a year in is by any means the finished template. There is a lot of mileage in the game and maybe only in 2-3 years can it be judged properly
Yes, but it wouldn’t make sense right now. Crystal desert/Elona though, now we are talking!
One of the best classes I have ever seen in any game…well until they “re-balanced” and changed the class to something utterly different and made it unplayable for me.
So yes, def would like to see it return, but not just for the sake of it. It needs a reason to be in the game
Absolutely not. No one has to do it at all. If ppl just let those whining and moaning have their say and not jump on their threads every 5 mins, their threads would die and the forums would be less cluttered and a lot more positive/constructive. Defending every action, whilst noble has only exasperated the issue ten fold because it keeps these threads in view longer than needed.
I disagree. Whenever someone posts a negative comment, several others jump in to echo the OP, whether they really agree or not. Without any input from the “other side” it makes these posters feel like everyone agrees with them, and to a casual observer it may seem like the game experience is overwhelmingly negative.
Also, a lot of these complaints are based on unsubstantiated rumors, mistaken assumptions, and malicious lies. If the mistakes are legitimate, they should be corrected, and if trolling, those reading the forums should at least be alerted to the fact that what these posters are claiming is not true.
Yes for sure..but not over and over and over and over. Make a point sure, but if they don;t listen once, they aren’t going to listen after the 10th argument in as many minutes ^^

I long ago used to be a forum posting frequenter.
The mood rarely strikes me now to debate with people. I just play online with my guild and enjoy myself.
I’m getting to this stage with the forums. Very little substance, same old stuff going round and round.
I don’t play Forum Wars like you, Vayne
It’s a dirty job…but someone has to do it. lol

To answer the original question..I play this way, although even I’m finding this has finite life. Probably because I have over done the open world game so much, which is a testament to how enjoyable the pve experience is. Bizarrely I can’t seem to replicate this experience on any alts, which annoys me no end. For now, I roam whichever land takes my fancy or where I need mats. And rather than make it a grind, I try to make an adventure of it, regardless of how cheesy and corny that sounds
I don’t think this is a quick fix issue. Its a technical issue – something to do with bandwidth? Sorry tech stuff lost on me utterly. There’s ongoing work I believe on optimising and improvements. I guess when that technical stuff is done, that will pave the way for a future fix..maybe.
750 and no ticket. Not given up…yet!
Really bizarre philiosophy froma gaming company to out effort into designign an item which is so rare to get…
Roll on tomorrow! Papa wants a brand new dragon shield!
Charr – they are evil – they were the bad guys in GW Prophecies…does no one remember they blew up Ascalon!?!
I think Tim Bisley summed it up in Spaced pretty well when he talked about Jar Jar Binks. The same applies to Charr… ;
“You are so blind! You so do not understand! You weren’t there at the beginning! You don’t know how good it was, how important! This is it for you! This jumped-up firework display of a toy advert!”
Ahhh yes the Harathi is the one I meant, I knew it was one of those two zones.
I must have misrembered the drake one. Or maybe I saw the timer go down too fast and just thought..meh..he’s an idiot, he doesn’t deserve saving ^^
There’s a spider one in Kessex I think it is. If you fail, the spider eats the NPC.
And a drake one in Bloodtide where the npc gets digested for being..basically an idiot.
“Sir, the possibility of successfully getting a ticket in a box is approximately three thousand, seven hundred and twenty to one!”
people will be forced to pay for it somehow.
yeah but they had a good idea (Braham and Rox’s weapons for gems) and scrapped it… I don’t believe that no one bought those. Why not put in a ticket for 1000gems? People would buy it and reputation would become better instantly. (it happened at F&F, people were happy with these weapons in the store).
I can only assume that this reputation means nothing to NCSoft and money is more important to them, since “few” people spend TONS of money on RNG.
I don’t believe no one bought those either (since I did). The problem is how much money do the make one way vs. the other way. If they don’t make enough money to support their project doing it one way, they will move to doing it the other way.
I’m relatively sure that they make a whole lot more money on RNG boxes. Not a little, but a lot. If that’s the case, and you were the company, what would you do?
As a business, i would look at the long term. This is not sustainable as the gem shop will be expected to increase sales quarterly and yearly. Rng boxes may sell now, but as anger about them rises, less and less will sell due to their stupidly low drop rate. Also, going too far to upset potential customers over one issue, means less gem sales in general.
Buyable skins is sustainable and can be grown upon. It also gauges success, since it will show what a wider range of players want to buy more precisely rather than being skewed by a small proportion of ppl buying a huge number of boxes for one item.
Considering how awesome tne skins are, im surprised they make it so needlessly hard to obtain. Id buy a few diff skins straight from the store, but the hideously low chance of a a drop from a store bought chest makes no sense.
I even bought 200 coffers off the tp, but nothing. Why the need for such a low drop rate here too? All it is doing is sowing bad feeling. If rng is the way the company wishes to go, then make the chances realistic. Gambling works on the principle the player feels like they have a chance to win, but this isnt the case here.
Sure the gem store will be raking in money atm, but it isnt sustainable long term. More and more ppl are getting angry over it and thus less ppl will buy them as months roll on. Most seem happy to support Anet financially, but not in this way
Same, just got it after loading screen to LA got stuck exiting Dragon Ball
Great news!
Does it matter what type of salvage kit u use?
I suspect pinky and the brain already tried this as some ingenious masterplan for world domination. By throwing in 4 legendaries, they hoped for a weapon so powerful all the races of tyria would bend to their will.
Sadly poor pinky got confused and throw in 4 elonian wines instead. No world domination, but a great party was had as the forge be ame the source for unlimited alcohol.
“Theres always tomorrow night Pinky”
“Why what are we doing tomorrow night brain..?”
“Same thing we do every night Pinky…try to take over the world”
The dontain video has been partly debunked in these forums enough times now im surprised it still gets raised. Poorly researched, dire and biased journalism. I really wouldnt use it in an argument.
I have plenty of gripes with the game atm, prob due to overplaying it tbh. But, its a game they are evolving. Gw prophecies was the same. Dull, tedious with a badly written story. Look at the gem of a game that rose from those early days.
To answer your question, yeah id li,e an expansion too
1) You get a shield to rival Flameseeker Prophecies, except instead of the original prophecy inscribed on the pages, you get the GW2 manifesto.
2) Captain Planet is summoned as a hero to fight by your side
Im presuming the small chest he spawns on the nearby ship is in lieu of loot, but yeah ive never got loot directly from the body either.
Agreed. Given they tune them a bit to put the length/difficulty in line with other fractals to avoid them from being systematically skipped (especially MF) or chosen (canach’s lair).
This plus the original idea by the op. i think fractals as a concept was an excellent idea and adding in modified or reduced versions of otherwise obsolete/temp content would keep fractals fresh
Vaguely remember a dev response about a bandwidth issue capping it 25
The big June patch is the 11th for Dragon Bash. I would expect balance fixes to be then if any are due
Wasn’t a patch. I guess it was all just on a timer to activate today
Im afraid it doesn’t. It is just a standard champion Karka fight. Took our (admittedly lerge) zerg maybe 3-4 misn to kill, with no mechanics that we were discernable (if they existed they were trivial enough to ignore – apparentely someone was to throw eggs – didn’t see it tho)
It might be better judged when the crowds die down and less ppl are at it, but it was underwhelming – susprising considering the overwhelming community feedback for interesting and challenging bosses
Had no issue with the rewards tho , but there was no work invloved to get them

Thats not a bad idea. Would free up waypoints in orr too. Does fall risk of trolling though, but i like the principle behind what you are suggesting
At the moment, dragon minions except zhaitan do not have a slayer bar at all, but will prob get one later when we go up again their dragon overlord.
Whilst im not connecting steam creatures to a dragon, but not having a current slayer raises the intriguing possibility we will be having a greater involvement with them in the future. We know very little about them after all
Have you checked general discussion? There is a lengthy thread (another one bites the dust) on it there if you wanted like minded discussion ( i advise keeping it constructive, theres some silly bickering bogging it down)
..and voices. I understood why less voices due from the dev explanation, but it puts me off when my tough, grizzled Druss the legend style toon sounds like hugh grant and looks like santa in his 20s…
If it can ever be implemented, it would be welcomed
I want to know why there’s a achievement to hunt down Zhaitans minions but there’s no slayer achievement for branded.
I’d guess they’re saving that for the Kralk expansion.
Same as Destroyers I’d wager. Makes sense tbh
I find the brand a really intriguing enemy/zone. More so then Orr was. But yes, hopefully they will diversify the area the closer we get to the desert. And big mobs morphing out of the landscape like in the book
The large crater looking area is a large crater btw (not sure if you know the story so wont outright spoil it)

Until further notice was the dev reply here

It is an unnecessary feature for this game where gear doesnt dictate skill, so why have it at all?
And unfortunately it will promote elitism, even if there are plenty who wouldnt use it for that reason. The reasons for not having it outweigh the need for having it as far as i can see and i presume that is why it isnt game.
I would be intrigued to know if a dev has ever commented on why they decided not to implement this though.
Check events forum too. I know our server gunnars hold runs it regularly
Bank and bag slots are precisely the sort of things a shop should have. I have very little issues with the shop, i think it is very good and certainly isnt pay to win at all, nor have i ever felt pressurised to buy anything.
Having said that, rng boxes should never be in the shop. Exclusive skins i have no issue, but not as a chance item.
Im also in two minds about buying gold. I can see the pros and cons of it, i just cant quite settle on whether it is a good or bad thing to have.
I dont think it is out to trick us though or see how it is doing this. People should take responsibility for their own purchases after all
Hmm pasting on my tablet is balked, but there is a vid on youtube with an asura and moot. The starter screen has a huge close of of the disco ball
