Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That’s what’s important! Valor pleases you, Crom… so grant me one request. Grant me
Barbarian stats!
Well, there are obviously going to be more since there is a dedicated tab.
Suggestions;
- Llama! Come on…got to happen!
- Squirrel!
- Lightning Bolt
- Mini pact airship
- A cloud
- A trumpet with an unfurling guild banner
- Rytlock as he is falling through the Mists hand delivers our mail
- something SAB related
OK, some of those are serious, some less so….but it’s a start!
I like both of the new features, but I agree that they could be a bit less ‘in-your-face’.
And speaking of new features, I really like the flashing window/icon that lets you know when you have loaded a new zone if you have the game minimized. I know, I know…off-topic. Not sure it deserves a whole thread, though. Lol.
I noticed that too. I presumed it always did that and I just hadn’t noticed over the last 2 years……..
Have to say, I found it extremely annoying.
However, thank you for pointing out the toggle off option. I should have checked really, now I can gladly turn this feature off!
I’m just finding it a camera angle/collision detection nightmare on my Norn
Try using one of the tonics to transform into something smaller but still gives you the ability to jump?
I got through my anger and got passed a bad camera bit in the end, although yes that’s a good idea. It shouldn’t be the solution mind you…although I might keep a tonic on me for when I retry (I got lost and ended up off the track completely)
Continuity isn’t the right word, but yes it is very disjointed and all over the place right now. It needs to focus on the story at hand. I’m feeling less and less engaged with the whys and whats of the story with each episode. If I was my character, I’d be scratching my head at my “journey” wondering what is going on.
Labyrinth aside, the zone/exploration stuff has been top notch stuff though – really evocative.
It’s very pretty and evocative though!!!
I’m just finding it a camera angle/collision detection nightmare on my Norn
i had the same ammount of health as i do on my warrior, so i think so
That’s good to know, thank you!
Whilst I am never a fan of playing a char which isn’t your own in MMO’s for the reason of not knowing the skills and the charc not matching the playstyle you spend so long trying to get sued to…
…she was rather more fun to play than I expected. Much more like the GW1 Assassin class. And her story was reasonably interesting even it did end abruptly (it at most should be a 1 episode story and not carrying over like it does).
Despite my early misgivings, it was better than than last epsiode, but far, far too short and abrupt. And the main story still hasn’t progressed. I’m starting to become disengaged with the “journey”.
I loved the SS Topsy Turvy though – that was just cool!

Does the health bar of your character when playing as Caithe change depending on gear/class. I haven’t got as far to try on my ele, but if not, then surely playing as a warrior would have an advantage if so?
I never liked the labyrinth either. But then again, i just avoid it unless i get a nightmare key in the breach to avoid getting annoyed at it.
My rubbish skills aside, it just didnt feel like it fitted in the setting either. Just forced in there with a chest in the centre. Great as an actual activity….less great as part of a continued world building. If mordy has access to unkillable, one shot mobs…he really needs more of them in his army. After all!
Also, the classic style of elves is a result of the D&D popularising generic settings and tropes. Fantasy by its very nature needs to be creative and constantly imagine new ideas in order to grow. Unfortunately it has rarely done that in recent decades, but that doesn’t mean it should stagnate by constantly recycling itself.
Not that GW2 hasn’t already done it in places, but it adversely shouldn’t do it for the sake of it either.
Thank you for at least suggesting something never suggested before though!!
I can’t quite work out whether there are spoof elements to your request on elves. In fact I was pretty sure this was a joke thread until I read what you wrote on the gem store, which is actually fairly reasonable.
In the off chance that you are serious, I will point out Elves come in a huge variety of forms – ie the King of Elfland’s Daughter had Elves very different from what D&D had. Which are different again to Tolkiens Elves. Which are different to MArvel’s Elves. Which Elves do you refer to?
Also, Hyperborea, arguably the finest generic fantasy setting penned has no Elves. ANd would not have been enhanced by Elves, in fact Conan would probably have cleaved them all to get to their women and riches anyway. GW’s world is the same – it does not require Elves and would in no way be enhanced by Elves.
Could it use more cool structures? Well…we just need access to the flying castle in Kessex Hills. Then I have no doubt that will fulfill one of your wishes.
ALso, if it had all the classic stuff you want, then it would be D&D the MMO. That already exists.

In response to community feedback, the newly added mobs are more difficult. They will encourage playing with diff skill/trait set ups.
I see. Thanks.
I have a question about Heritage Armor. Is it worth buying Eye of the North for? I have GW1 and a lvl10 character but I don’t know how easy it is to get all the skins, but it looks really cool. You will need to level up your character enough to start EOTN (level 20 iirc). Then it’s fairly small effort to get the requisite points.

That link will make sense when you unlock Hall of Monuments in EOTN (its near the start of the story)
You can go in with level 10. You and any heroes/henchmen are scaled up, basically. You also level faster because you get more exp.
Ah OK
I see. Thanks.

The compendium will unlock the tag for all characters, which you can switch on/off at will from the party menu. Once consumed, the compendium essnetially unlocks the ‘Commander Tag Option’ rather than you having to switch anything from char to char.
welp I guess you guys were right, its not worthy of a dev response. Ill find another way! ty everyone
It’s not a case of not being worthy, it’s Thanksgiving weekend (I think??) and they are prob on a brief break between heavy workloads, so aren’t checking the forums as much.
When they updated the champ bags, people hoarded bags to take advantage of the new drops which worked. I’d conclude from that the roll is on opening.
Prob because you are giving the devs nothing to work with. Lag can mean so many things. You dont speicfy server, or time of day, or country, or post any other connection details. How do you expect them to fix something which has no details.
Have you tried a support ticket? Support have more chance of fixing the issue by direct contact than a forum thread which will prob be missed.
I have never pvped, I rarely wvw and I never complete JP monthly. I have never had an issue with monthlies. Not sure why you believe pve only players can never complete it.
Nice job. I remember when our group faced off against Mai Trin and only my warrior in full defence spec and my less experienced friend in zerker spec were left and had to duo her start to finish.
Was quite a kick when we finally did it, with me basically keeping her alive with banners/rezzes/blocks/kites whilst she did all the damage.
People achieve these things all the time, its when less skilled people like ourselves (no offence meant btw) do it, it becomes special and memorable.
I would say the forums aren’t the correct place to request this, but a letter directly to the company or even an email would likely be seen by the people you would it to be seen by and open up a more direct dialogue.
It shouldn’t be too hard to find the details on the website – I know someone else wrote directly to them and got an acknowledgement.
Good luck
I think it would be really cool if it were implemented, it’s not really a big necessity so i doubt it will happen unless there is massive support for it (like really massive), but nonetheless, new features are always nice, so i don’t mind supporting this one
Though i ’m not sure about sharing accountbound items.
Could you explain why do you mind sharing accountbound items?
More than anything it will be open to huge exploiting by so many people and i think support have enough work without sorting out the resulting petty squabbles. The other issue is that whilst this sounds simple, i suspect the coding work would be huge to work this into the game, time spent best on main features.
Im not saying the idea shouldnt exist, but as a social thing only. Actual sharing is sweet in concept, likely a phenomenal headache in practice.
Nothing wrong with any of your post, but might be an idea to merge with https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-GW2-race-would-you-create/first#post4588642 to avoid duplication, and also keep that thread a d your ideas more prominent
You made some interesting points, but the season is neither useless or broken no matter what point of view you have on the season. That is just an unhelpful comment which will cause the devs to ignore any of your feedback.
In terms of the difficulty, the style of story, the lack of cutscenes, the mechanics, this stems from community feedback from what they didnt like about the personal story and season 1.
Season one wasnt designed to be replayed. A flaw they learned from, but whats done is done, but i appreciate the frustration for new playets.
The personal story was considered by the community as very mixed, in quality and generally speaking, many really disliked Arah in the final episode, so the devs changed the way they made future episodes in season 2.
Has it worked? Well, its an improvement vastly i think, although it is starting to stutter with the overuse of cliffhangers and inconsistent pacing. Believe me, be glad you missed season ones story, ypu really would have hated based on what you said above.
Hope that at least provides some context for why things are as they are at this point.
I don’t think she has worded what she is saying particularly well, but in essence she is correct. Mythos/world building is a great skill and even more skill is required not to ram it down people’s throats whilst keeping it prominent (unless you are Tolkien who seems the exception to every fantasy rule).
Not many writers in literature pull it off nowadays, I am intrigued to see how GW2 moves forward with this vision.
I’m not understanding why it matters if there are predominantly strong male or strong female characters. As long as the characters are strong, I fail to understand why anything else is relevant.
OK, so as one of those people that really wasn’t a fan of the “play as Togo” or whomever else missions from GW1, the thought of playing as Caithe is not really appealing to me.
I guess if that’s the route they want to go (and it does seem to be the case), then fine, but yeah. I have the toons i have because i like to/want to play them.
I agree with this. Even if it was one instance I’d find it unenjoyable – I thoroughly hated the GW1 bonus missions where you played as a historical figure. But, I’ll live with it if I have to play them to get through the story, unappealing or not.
It will never exist in the original format due to the way it needed map/community coop to progress the events. But, it needs to exist in some format for those who have missed it. Even if it is heavily cut down into smaller, manageable instances.
Before I begin, know I am very grateful for the Living Story updates, that I am. I like the idea of episodic content every couple of weeks letting my character’s story unfold. With that being said, I like to say that Season 2 seems to have a lot of padding in it before moving on to something good.
First we got looking at stuff on Dry Top, then negotiating with the world leaders, then we help them do their errands, then do a meeting, then start to move out and then Caithe has to but in. Despite what we get, I get a feeling that the pacing is moving unnecessarily slow and it seems like in the end, we would accomplish very little in this season.
This is just the major negative I have with this season. I never played the first season at all, so I don’t know if was even worse in terms of it’s pacing. Either way, I’d like to hear your thoughts .
The pacing is an improvement on season 1. It was a series of epic set pieces with no real interconnecting story. Player feedback was taken on board and the story was essentially brought together (mostly) at the end.
This season was fine right up until last patch. The story seems to rely on cliffhangers and asking more questions than giving out answers. That is not a good way to tell a story – you only use this technique so often before your audience tires and runs out of patience. There is also no obvious end anywhere near in sight, even though I’m sure realistically there is.
I enjoy the gameplay side of things, but right now the story is getting too bogged down and distracted. It just needs to get on with it. I’m not sure if the up and coming patch will solve that either since it has the feel of a linked side story instead.
It has taken so far nearly 6 months to get well, not very far. In that time, many of us had gone through the much larger personal story (albeit considerably lower in quality gameplay wise).
If they insist on this format going forward, then I’d rather they abolished the “seasons” and just added to the story every 2 weeks. Then at least we wouldn’t have the feeling of “this is going to end soon…but nothing is really progressing”
Considering we can dive into the water… not really necessary.
But we could have some Ascended cooking recipes with fish! And Bloodstone Dust.
Ascended smoked Rainbow Trout in a parsley and bloodstone sauce.
I can get behind that…
kitten Gaile…I have to alt-tab now!
;)
ooh Mine-O-Tron!
I used to think this would be a stupid idea when it was previously suggested.
However, I then realised I’d probably spend a lot of time visiting potential fishing spots and just chillin’!
Also I like the way you thought of implentating it
In short……yes!
Thanks for the heads up Gaile. It is a bit of a shame we have been reporting the collection thing via in game bug reports and dozens of threads and the issue had already been identified and not passed onto us, but at least we now know what the situation is.
Much appreciated!
I think considering his already long life, that mantra wouldn’t make sense applied to him. Interesting theory though.
some people just don’t get jokes >.<
If it helps I knew you were joking.
Still, I have a thief, so would have been fine anyway
If we ever revisit Elona, I would totally swoon if Arenanet decided to add an Anubis-like race.
Complete with the ability to wield polearm weapon types.
That would be awesome.
I also like these, but perhaps more as a foe

Obsidian Gnome. It just popped into my head, I have neither thought this through or come up with a lore reason for them to exist- maybe in the morning!!
Good thread though, like the pyre race particularly. I imagine them to be friends to the Obsidian Gnome…
I do like the idea of some sort of underground race where you can change the skin tone between stone types. It would be pretty easy to bring them in too with Mordremoth rising. When Primordus rose it pushed the Asura to the surface and Mordremoth could do the same with some other race. Like it!
I was thinking maybe a distant ancestral relation to dwarves, yet in a distant part of Tyria. Maybe brought out by Primordus, but would also be a previously unknown race with knowledge of earlier Dragon rises.
I hope we aren’t going to play as Caithe. I like playing as my character and these “flashback scenarios” inherent in some MMO’s where you control a different character is not fun for me to play.
ALso, anyone else experiencing major issues with the playback of the trailer? Doesn’t play smoothly for me, just keeps skipping through the scenes.
4 weeks isnt enough time to get enough black lion keys though considering the low drap rate of scraps (i have barely seen any from chests).
Im always baffled when things are removed from the store or game like this. Im not understanding why the skins couldnt exist continuously for those who want them, especially now that collections encourage people to get them.
As a retailer of 20 years, i find it very strange, but hopefully they will come back

Yes, as others said if it wasn’t due to a low population map from the megaservers then its simply because people are spread out across the game and not afking in the central hub anymore.
Megaservers reduced the server identity as well which meant grouping in LA became less a regular social thing for many.
My only suggestion is to wait it out until people bore with the concept or go at quieter times of day. Not ideal, but you ultimately can’t fix the map to get a low population one (if you could many would game it and Anet would no doubt have hundreds of of them to keep running).
Sorry!
There is not. And even if luck got you into such a server, it would boot you out within an hour anyway since unpopulated maps despawn eventually (hence the buff incentive message that pops up).
Could you not go to a diff area with lots of ambients? Such as where Shadow Behemoth spawns?
Was there one last year in GW2? I appreciate a dev cant answer if we are having one this year or not, but I was curious if there was a precedent. There are some nice things I am eyeing up on the gem store…
I love my mace shield warrior spec in pve., especially when traited to reflect projectiles. Is it optimum? Prob not, but ive played it enough to get the best out if it and a huge amount of fun to boot.
I also have a guardian with a shield and now an engie with one. Guess i just like shields!
