SO…now steal can heal allies…what are u talking about? how is everything i say fairy tales? i just listed what guardian skills (from F1 f2 f3) could do. they are all 100% legit. I play a guardian who is full maxed and well used. I have legendaries with over 20k kills in wvw and full ascended gear…etc etc and so on and so forth. That is why you dont… and wont here anyone here saying the possibilities listed are BS. And yes, I did say guardians “can” do this…. not guardian F skills “all do this” , as if it were generic or a set base for skills.

PS sorry got off tract there. Steal can 100% NOT heal allies. a skill FROM steal you drop AND combine with cluster bomb AND having nearby allies that are hurt AND none that are not hurt nearby will cause heals. Its so circumstantial that the heal is a very low success rate in a large zerg. usually rarely healing unless only injured players stand close and healthy ones do not. this is because healing is chose randomly and not by necessity! if we can talk like this about steal….guardians aegis causes heals….burns…..and retaliation……again outdoing thieves ….and i can list more "sub-effects that can by caused by f-mechanics but only if traited and only if in the right circumstance or “combining skills” . u cant claim a skill to be good by using a qualifier like “its good when you use skill x before and skill y after and under condition/variable z as a given” srry not how it works.
oh so now that you played an guardian with legendary and you got 20k kills makes you an expert ?

“guardians F skills “CAN” do this:" read before you correct. i listed everything that COULD be done. if you trait properly u can get about 70%-75% or maybe slight more of those running about the same time. i never mentioned heal on roll. and its not poor compared to caltrops bc 2 rolls =3300 hp easily. 3300 hp is better than a dinky area of caltrops on ground givin 2 secs of cripple and 225 dmg….u REALLY think its better? you are not good at math.
point is Guardian mechanics from F can buff/heal about 25 people and hurn/retal on just as many if not more. they can also give about a total of, im guessing, 40 ish boons maybe even more but i dont wanna add it up. and many many heals. now steal gives like 5 things. fury swift might vigor and steals 2 boons and 1 stun if traited right plus dmg from mug. all of this goes to one person (lets say on average 4k dmg which is high but. w.e. ….low end 1200 and high high end 6100 ish) so 5 people get 3 buffs each …owner gets the same 3-4 boons plus steals 2 which he prolly already has so may or may not get more and stuns 1 person. the Burns /retaliation alone outdo the dmg of everythign here easily. that said….u cross it off like a math equation. now all we have left to compare is boons and heals. thief gives out a total of 15……guardian shares about 25 and another 10 or so for himself plus multiple heals and condi removals and stun removal and area blinds. you cant compare teh to to be equal. anyoen will tell you …..the math is there. im doing it rough but still …steal is barely half as good as f mechanics on guardian. u can get about 70% of everythign chosen as a guardian and about the same chosen as a thief. either way it scales the same if ration a =ration bx2 then it goes to say that (Y=.70) and ratio A * Y = (B * Y)2 . niether class can trait for them all but basically a similar ratio of chosen traits = same ration of choosable quantity. dont argue that steal is in any way comparable to any class…we can compare any one of them…… if you do try debate this. you must be of the mindset that you would rather have a character hit 4k dmg hitting 1 person RATHER than a chacter hitting 2k dmg in AOE up to 5 (or heals). since its a team game and not a 1 v 1 game…..doing 10k total dmg from AOE is usually better than doing a 4k shot to one person. 10 people doing the aoe dmg will down/kill more people much faster than the 10 people doing 4k per hit.
Ps the only 2 classes i have mastered are theif/guardian. ive played every other but cant claim to have an intimate knowledge of their workings yet.

Simply put, the more skilled you are, the “glassier” you can go. Unless your in a guild that has specific builds rotated around specific cooldowns this is how it is. WvW in most cases of organized guilds hitting unorganized zergs, its all about shock and awe. Initiation is huge in zerg battles and in most cases decides the victor. In other cases Valkyrie/PVT gear is sometimes picked up in organized groups when large amounts of protection uptime are involved. This is because Vitality > Toughness when you have protection up.

1. No Skilled player would take the risk to be 1 shot
2. make an comparation 100% protection uptime
case a ) 25000 hp 2300 armor
case b ) 15000 hp 3100 armor
player a will take 35% more damage that player B and will have 65 % more hp
Considering that group is organized and area heals are constant (Water/dark fields) that 65% extra hp will help only against initial burst and player A will never be able to stay at full hp. Meantime player B will take 35% less damage on the entire battle ( maybe 5-6 minutes)
for 45 secs.. you should get like 3200 health minimum…any less is just a joke.

As well please do not mention heal on dodge roll /signet of healing since they are not clas specific mechanism and are poor compared with caltrops on dodge hide in shadows

the ONLY thing worth stealing is whirl from warriors. the rest are kinda neat….or kinda tricky…or kinda fun…..i mean the ice stab COULD be usefull but its SOOOO slow and SOOO small range i think i hit like 10% or less of those :P
and the water field from ranger is bad, specialy when you got an shortbow to area heal 5 ally’s for 1400 x5 blastsx 5 targets -you actualy can heal in 3 seconds 35000 hp with 1 steal and 15 initiative

you take 4500 from an balista wich mean you got betwen 2600 -2900 defence -thief armor is 1900 in full exotics, without toughness
That result i got 650 vitality / 700-1000 toughness from armor //traits, wich is more that you can obtain from Soldier armor /trinkets without including runes and traits

omnomberry pie /ghost 325 /2 sec – 4875/ sec if you use them at maximum potential

in my oppinion the hotspot for tanky thief is betwen 15000-17000 hp ,with 17k hp as maximum. i see no point to have 20.000 hp if you can heal maximum 12-13k in 1 minute. With an 0/30/30/10/0 i can stay in combat against D/D tanky elementalist even 1 hour if fight takes that long since i can heal 350 hp/sec stealthed and like 6500 from Hide in shadows

So, why should I take this elite? I mean as far as I can tell it’s a 1.5 second stun…..that’s it. Why do so many people take this in their builds…seems kind of weak to me for an elite.
you can use runes of lyssa – elite give all bufs and clean all conditions any way 1.5 seconds you can land steal (mug) +backstab+3 auto attacks -over 16k damage
i am happy if i can block an eviscerate/cloack and dagger, or even first 2hits from hundred blades, cause i can dodge the rest
I’ve died several times when my stealth utility’s were on cooldown cause i was blinded and could not use CnD
on thief vs thief .. going stealth blind enemy foes is an huge advantage, cause 1 will CnD more the other.
enige and mesmer have invernerable traits…just like guardiand and warrior…im just saying i think the answer is a lil blind boost. u dont have to rerol everythign. u ahve to change the timing of SOME things . and perhaps take out blind from smoke screen/field. no huge change has to happen. really

you want blind to affect 3 targets for 3 seconds .-that means an naked thief block for 3 seconds dps from 3 warriors that cast bull charge/100B on him

I’ve thought from launch all EU servers are actually in NA anyway, many of us did those ping tests and IP checks on all the connections the game was making, because it was curiously laggy, and they all went to somewhere in Texas iirc.

warrior got supperior damage to thief on range
thief got the awsome cluster bombs – an aoe blast finisher, but is an slow projectile, that take 2-3 seconds to reach at 900 range
pistol /pistol got decent burst damage, cool animation, but the weapon set do not provide mobility/stelath /aoe to thief .
in duels -1 vs 1 – 1 vs 2/3 you spend 95-99% of the time in melle.
On farming you can do it 100% ranged0 as thief
the true life of an pve thief
lvl 20 thief doing lvl 38 fractal … no death in hardest fractal. (1)
Duo thieves CM path 1, it was first time i went CM, i just watch 1 youtube video before, to see the path ( 2 )
still farming better with my thief then with warrior on penitent /shelter /grenth and no i am not even an pve thief, i only do pve when i want to gamble in mystic forge (3)

here is mine , got bored of t3 set so i changed to something more simple and less common
i belive your build will fail against
D/D – Elementailists : – you lack hp regeneration and your burst is 6000 damage every 4 seconds-they can heal that
1.bunker guardians/ cond bunker engineirs – same reason
2.condition mesmers – your stealth (condition clean ) is black powder + heartseekers 3.that already hurt at 10+ stacks of confusion -specialy since you don’t have hp regeneration.
you should also consider alternative weapon with bloodlust/perception
you cannot sustain any battle that last more then 3 minutes, since you got no regeneration- and you cannot burst any tanky build , since your damage comes only from backstab – in best situations 1 every 5 seconds.

i am sorry, but i doubt any high-end EU guild could find an challenge in US
Doubtful any of you remember the OG guild. Im looking for a guild that can compare to OG in skill. Not looking for a zerg guild, im looking for a guild whos 5man can fight 20 people.
If any guild on any server is as skilled as OG once was please get ahold of me.

Get rid of this kittening 5-man aoe limit system and reduce overall skill dmg.

ye imagine fear afecting 80 players at once/ hammer stun 30 ppls at once
30 elementalists spamming aoe at lord room hills – you can enter only when they go afk , even if you reduce damage with 70% … and you hit 25 targets with same skill
i don’t belive you need 15 points in trickery… maximum initiative since you want constant damage for farm not burst
as well… your critical looks poor, and you got dagger damage trait , wich you use only on 1 weapon set out of 3

I got an tanky settup so numbers don’t go verry high.. an glas cannon can have 300 more base p attack -10 more critical power -20 more critical rate
i also miss 25 stacks of accuracy /bloodlust and furry buff (i can take it from critical strikes when target reach 50% hp
Unbuffed : 2850 P attack – 99 critical power -38 critical rate
Buffed : 3560 p attack -109 critical power -50 critical rate
(25*bloodlust +furry selfbuff) could go to 3800 p attack -109 CP -70% critical rate ( you got those stats for 5 seconds but is enough to kill anybody in few hits

there is nothing wrong with servers.
WvWvW rank is decided by wich guilds play on x or y server.
an merge betwen 2 servers, will not add 100% more manpower in wvwvw, probably even less

and i still got over 30 ascended rings after i cleaned inventory once
for real there are 5 months since november.
1 fractal /week you could had enough rings for 3 toons
amulets is daily /monthly – 20 days for 1 amulet
earings – few guild events
If i can farm over 300 badges /day and i need 20 days to farm 1 amulet with daily system , would you pay 5000 badges for it ?
i farm good with my thief
usualy fights go 20-60 ppls on each side
example -today – i joined guild raid at 10:30 PM … at 1.30 AM i had over 600 kills , 65 heavy lot bags, 4.5 gold from trash loot, and 1 rare only as loot.
I usualy run in same line with warriors /guardians when zergs colide, then i retreat and finish /aoe downed.

Fixed it for you.
3000 more hp, same defence , 32 % more critical damage.
Before you engage use shadow refuge to gain might, use assasin signet and you start with extra 525 p attack, at 25 stacks of bloodlust you start with nearly 4000 p attack
i got over 500 h on guardian and over 1000 on thief, so i can tell you :
thief got better condition removal, without sacrificing any utility slot -sword main hand / stealth condition removal
you can train for regeneration on stealth
however you cannot spam skills like on guardian, you must prepare your combo, most of the times you can use 3 skills in row before you run out of initiative.
autoattck does not adavantage you in wvwvw /spvp against heavy armors you cannot trade blow for blow
On pve shortbow is your best friend
only weapons that got aoe on autoattack are sword/shortbow,
you can also train for blind on stealth, wich might increase your survaivability with offhand dagger or dagger /pistol
