The concept of cyberbullying is absurd. Can we find yet another way to promote victimhood and make people less responsible for themselves?
Bullying is equally as irresponsible as victimhood.
Victimhood tries to dodge consequences for own’s mistakes, bullying tries to dodge consequences that would happen if you were to say such things face to face.
Overall I’d rather have victimhood over bullying tho; bullying can put down even the most intelligent person’s speech through baseless hate, while victimhood only allows people to say stupid opinions without being insulted (which is still pretty funny to see).
“Bag Slots and Bank Tabs are 20% off in the Gem Store through February 26!”
This takes a patch with a size of over 28mb? I don’t believe it. Where’s the real patch notes?
Build changes always update the exe which is at least 21mb.
Size doesn’t mean anything, especially if you’re referring to changes that would take a line of code to make (aka less than 1kb), or maybe not even one if it changes existing code.
FOTM? I think you might have mistaken this forum with WoW’s one.
GW2 has no FOTM just good and bad players.
In PvE though classes are not equally good, the War/Guard/Mes trio leads the way by far.
I would put Thief on par with the trio but since most Thieves can’t play permablind/stealthrez I can’t really speak for them until they l2p.
The ironic thing is that we’d be a lot more viable if we just had our skills un-bugged and the BWE nerfs undone.
We were made weaker back when other professions were underdeveloped, now that they are as good as we used to be, we should simply be un-castrated.
Fixing Warrior is probably the easiest task compared to say fixing Necro or Engi, just un-nerf Evis/Brawn and fix Rush/Bull’s charge.
The actually value of heavy armor versus light armor is 15% damage reduction…well it rounds up to 15%.
It’s 13.68% from light to heavy.

The bats being in the tunnel is random, perhaps a 1 in 20 chance of happening. This was true even before the latest maintenance patch. I would guess the bats in the tunnel is unintended the same way the Dredge fractal has a similar low chance of spawning extra dredges before the first gate.
I have done grawl fractals a few times since, and there were no extra bats.
This.
As for all these “stealthnerf” conspiracies if you ever coded in your life you’d know that most times you forget changes you made when you code a lot.
There is no company in the world that lists all changes they make to every game build, there is always something they forget.
I’m not sure why some people believes that a company purposely avoids mentioning a change even though it’s going to be discovered in less than 24 hours, what would be the point of that?
Use some common sense.
I just tested paragon build in the builder here: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/guardian/?3|1.1c.h1e|0.0.0.0.0.0|1c.71j.1n.71j.1c.71j.1c.71j.1n.71j.1c.71j|1c.61.1c.61.1n.61.1n.67.1n.67.1c.67|0.5.u65b.u28b.5|0.0|e
It seems to give decent damage and high self-defense but I don’t see a lot of team protection in there.
I wanted to be full support aka perma protection and walls/shields of all sorts to reduce team’s damage not just me.
I don’t really care for damage because a Warrior can deal double that damage so as long as I have a Warrior or two in the team I don’t really need to deal DPS.
I just really want a wipe-saving build for those desperate situations so I can login my Guardian and save the day.
The Thief is nothing short of GREAT in PvE.
Permablind/weakness, refugerezzing, SoA, Smoke Screen…. it’s like having a Guardian in your team, and it does work along a Guardian without overwriting his tools.
Too bad most Thieves can’t see beyond “olol I spam domoges n die ololol” and give us a bad name.
TLDR: GS has the overall higher damage potential while an Axe/Mace combo is better for single targets like bosses. Axe/Axe is inferior to both in terms of damage unless you have no clue how to handle a GS.
Nobody is denying that.
Vs targets that dont move and stay in your 180 degree cone, GS has more DPS.
Vs targets that move, Axe/Mace provides more DPS (unless the team can already provide 25 vuln in which case there is no difference from Axe/Axe beside the loss of healing from WA).
Vs AoE situations or mobile fights, Axe/Axe provides more DPS and major healing.
It would be pretty naive to deny the above, or claim that any weapon is always the best in all situations.
If that was the case it would be a major design flaw as the reason we get multiple weapons is that each fits a situation better than the others.

With the new down leveling and the rewards that scale to lvl, there is no reason not to- you even get salvages for your level.
Really Tyria is your oyster
I’ve yet to see that system in place.
But even if rewards were to be -all- scaled to 80 (which I doubt), there should be something pushing us to those zones.
I.E. why can’t dailies send you to 3-4 different maps to complete events, instead of giving you fetch quests?
Until I see a proper system that rewards players from going back, Tyria is just a place to level up and abandon.
Imo the stomps are fine – BUT downed skills need to be tuned.
All classes need to be equal on that: either they all get AoE rupt or not, etc.
I do drop them consistently in Fractals, but never drop them outside it.
I don’t necessarily want new skills, I want skill runes like D3, i.e. you add an effect you want to all existing skills choosing from a pool of mods.
I find that system more in-depth than a simple “many skills” system, also easier to balance.
Inb4
“But.. but.. heavy armor”
“But.. but.. high health”
Some people still think in traditional MMO logics, as if armor/health mattered versus very strong tools like Mes/Thief stealth, Ele’s crazy self-healing/tankiness, Guardian’s Prot/regen, etc.
GW2 is not WoW where you slot “block” and “armor rating” and magically you’re invincible, the power of a class comes from its unique skills/mechanics here.
Warrior is definitely UP in sPvP.
Not in WvW only because damage scales very well with PvE gear.

What is the real cooldown for sigil of blood as wiki seems confusing . 2 or 5 seconds ?
So with axe skill 5 it would heal in first 2 seconds from 5 targets and then it would trigger again ? I believe this would be the right math …
I’m pretty positive its 2s.
I personally switched to Sigil of Rage in place of it, because it frenzies WA and makes it into a 1.75s 10k burst on 360 degrees plus full health healing all very quickly.
I found the healing food does the job on its own, Sigil of Blood is overkill most times.
Btw my final say on Axe vs GS.
Does GS provide more DPS in a “perfect” situations where mobs dont move and they are all packed in front of you and you have 25 stacks of might?
Yes.
Does Axe provide a very high, mobile, 360 degree DPS (5500 effective power, math does not lie), and crazy self-healing?
Yes.
Neither is “better”, it all comes down to the situation you’re currently facing and your playstyle.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Hey all, since I’m tired of teams failing in certain fractals (imbued, colossus double sigil fight, etc) I’m trying to make a failsafe build to carry people in those fights.
So far I came up with this: http://tinyurl.com/a573x6s
Do you think it’s enough? I was thinking of getting AE instead of signet CD but I’m afraid letting SoResolve go would be a risk for my own survivability.
Check this site to see armor to damage reduction values = http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/
In this game we play healer tank and DPS at the same time, no need to limit us to only one of them.
Anet does not “fear” to go back to a limited and obsolete system, it’s more like the opposite aka other MMOs fear letting players out of the role cage.
With the ridiculous cooldown as it is, it should charge knocking EVERYTHING on its path for at least 4 seconds.
Yup, and also create a volcano at the end that erupts with 5 meteor showers that knockdown people for 8 minutes each.
Also, on the path you leave a line of fire that burns and pulses for 10k dmg per second, while creating lava elementals that immobilize and daze foes in an area.
If traited, during the skill you ride a bear that shoots lasers from his eyes that stack 25 vulnerability for 10 minutes in a 180 degrees cone.
Anything else?
The whole point of any game like this, is to become so powerful that no one can touch you.
Not this one game.
I believe that for once it’s ok that ONE game delivers a different experience than others.
I’m tired with people demanding that GW2 follows the same routes as other games, if you want that go play other games.
Necro = minions get protection when you apply regen to them, minion CD down to 5-10s
Ranger/Engi = +10% dps on autos
Ta-da, earned a slot in my frac teams.
BC should simply work like Leap of Faith, so it lands how it should instead of having you go “through” people.
Sorry? I think I misread there something… for a moment I thought you said axe/axe outdamages a GS. Even axe/mace does better damage than axe/axe. I’d very much like to see that “math” of yours. Link, please?
This is the one and only comparison (I’ve found so far) where maths are done properly. It includes every situation, meaning a skilled player will be better off with a GS while a… lets just say not so skilled player will be better off spamming axe AA.
Lets be realistic here… none of Red Falcon’s builds with “ridiculously” high dps and “ridiculously” high survivability are what they appear to be.
Agreed. Stating that Axe/Axe has higher DPS than Greatsword gives more credit to /Axe than it deserves.
/Axe is pretty crap. It is all about Axe/.
You guys don’t realize the DPS increase you get from hitting targets you wouldn’t normally hit at all.
I.E. hitting 3 mobs with Axe full auto for 2.5k average on 6 hits (3.5s) = 45k dmg
Hitting 5 mobs with WA 10k (3.5s) = 50k dmg
I listed many situations above where fights will be 360 degrees.
Let’s drop GS pride and lies a moment and let’s take proper reasoning.
With GS most times the 2-3 mobs you hit during HB channel will just run out of range if someone else got the aggro, same for bosses – every time this happens you’re losing a ton of HB DPS, and it happens a lot.
Now take into account the 6.5s downtime on HB and you should realize a couple things.
GS deals more DPS only every 6.5s and only if targets don’t move away for a whole 3.5s while channeling, and only on 180 degrees.
Sure we could sit here and imagine perfect situations where HB has no CD, where mobs stand still inside HB all the time, etc.
Or we could be realistic.
In normal situations (also proved by that guru post) Axe has more DPS.
Those are the facts, one can decide to ignore them and spam 2 on his GS; I really don’t mind.
My build here has 5500 effective power and 30% damage reduction along with insane lifesteal.
Like it? Use it. Don’t like it? Continue spamming 2 with your GS.
Just don’t demand that all people are GS zombies and ignoring the facts, some people like to play differently.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
…it’s a learn to play issue. Last time I checked skills had a target cap which is usually 3 or 5. and if you can’t position yourself to hit as many as you can then 360° won’t help you either. Mobs won’t run away if you pop hundred blades unless you make them. If someone else has aggro and is kiting them then you are fool to chase them with a melee weapon.
Yes, that is definitely a major l2p issue of yours.
If you ever bothered to try anything outside GS 100b spamming, you would know how ridiculously wide is the AoE radius of WA, and that you can move while spinning thus eliminating any positional issue, and you would know its target limit is also ridiculously high.
Please avoid talking about l2p issues when you don’t understand basics mechanics of the class, go farm cof1 or something.
1. Why Deep Cuts (50% bleed duration) over Rending Strikes (33% chance of vulnerability on critical)???
W/ Precise Strikes, you are already causing bleeding on 33% of your hits.2. Why Crack Shot instead of something like Furious Reaction (10s Fury and Vigor per 30s)
Do you find yourself needing Crack Shot there?
Would it not be more optimal to change to Crack Shot when you know you need range?
Traits are to be swapped depending on the situation to get the best out of them.
Vs a boss you need to keep range from, having Crack Shot is better.
When you don’t need Rifle you swap Crack Shot with Rending Strikes.
Deep Cuts is there to maximize the DPS efficiency of Attack of Opportunity.
As for Furios Reaction I could never find an use for it.
I have permafury and vigor is not necessary for me, but if it is for you then use it.
Traits are not set in stone
Many people tend to underestimate PVT builds. Warriors has many traits to increase raw stats and with nourishments and FGJ my stats are pumped really high. Having twice as HP as most glass classes is a huge advantage, high power also gives lots of damage even when I dont have that much crit (29% with Fury, shield sigil of accuracy dont display on char sheet). High armor is also another nice thing to have as warrior.
I dont believe you need that much crit to kill someone with Axe… its base damage +eviscerate are enough and with my build (look at my stats) plus shield I can survive most glass spike damage.
I have 15 in Strengh, for Endurance I just use my Burst skill and I can dodge again. Also, Auto-Shake it off, Shake it off, FGJ with 6/6 soldier runes means 5 conditions removed from me and my mates.
What if I tell you… you could have gotten that armor rating while still having 70% crit rate and 90% crit damage? It’s possible.
So we’re down to health… is that 10k extra health really worth the price of dealing no damage?
PvE doesn’t need to be so easy that you can succeed with any spec, but with any class setup yes.
Currently some classes are in a worse place like Ranger, Necro and Engi.
They can do some of everything but aren’t remotely as good as other classes in specific things.
I.E. a Ranger doesn’t offer much to your team unlike a Guardian.
They really just need to do a BIG split of PvP and PvE skills, all skills.
I want to see those 3 classes become very good to have in teams.
I too believe it’s a flaw to make some classes not have a permanent or so speed increase, or make it so the speed increase is reliant on spamming certain buttons.
One main reason I don’t play my Guardian is I don’t want to spam staff skill just for speed.
All I am saying is waiting around for a group to do a dungeon (especially Arah) is not fun at all.
Just as we can Queue up for a sPVP match, we should be able to do this for the dungeons.
I just think it is the most friendly option and waiting around stinks… we can all agree on that.
If you disagree, please explain how it would ‘ruin’ the game. Social reasons, RP reasons don’t hold a lot of water with me, but feel free to go that route if you would like.
I agree completely.
Simply make a LFG button that pops a window similar to sPvP one and shows current teams, with the description of content they’re going to play.
When it comes to PvE the GS will always be better in dungeons, axe doesn’t even come close.
Wrong.
Axe has the same DPS of HB plus Evis which adds 1k DPS.
In most fractals you need 360 AoEs to hit everything, and Axe with evis spamming outDPS GS greatly unless you have a Guardian pulling all mobs in front of you all the time.
GS only gives the best under certain conditions and only if you happen to hit all mobs in the channel, in other situations Axe is way more DPS.
Anything works in COF1 ezmode, but generally the trick is full zerk and spamming button 2 while keeping up FGJ.
To not die dodge and Endure Pain. Surge for healing.
I used to run full soldier’s on my ele, it was very tanky and with might stacking my damage was just ok. Since learning the game more I have made the transition into full berserker’s and survive just as well but put out SIGNIFICANTLY more damage.
How? Dodging is 100% mitigation and vigor lets you dodge much more. If you take renewing stamina from arcana and build with high crit chance you will pretty much live in vigor. I have tested it just auto attacking and watching it constantly refill, its great not having to rely on heals as much.
Monsters also will focus on you more if you have higher toughness(prevailing wisdom I am starting to believe having switched out of it). I have noticed if they do turn to me its only for a brief instant now with berserker’s versus with soldiers they would follow me the whole fight.
Full zerk and full soldier are both inefficient setups.
Mix/matching to get the best out of everything is much better.
When you go to your mailbox and proceed with link sent by ArenaNet tick the “remember network” and then allow access.
That does not disable email authentication.
Don’t call trinity PvE easymode, you’re gonna end up with a bunch of people telling you about how gear checks and artificial difficulty introduced by trying to have 25 people follow a script all at once is hard.
Haha.
Well I just don’t understand why those people come here and expect a trinity.
It’s like stepping into an Italian restaurant and expect McDonald’s food on the menu.
Not all MMOs must offer the same obsolete mechanics, if you want them guys then you just have to pick one of the thousands wow clones out there.
EU-servers down maybe? I can’t login (and not re-log into the forums) and another friend can’t login either. (also EU).
Yes yes, EU server.
I can’t login into the game, my gf can’t even login to the forums.
What’s up with this?
Is there any way to do this because my gf accidentally made it and now every time she tries to login by mail it says “failure” and wont let her play.
Warrior is not a “pve class”.
And we’ve been asking to fix Rush/Bull, range on some skills, also Brawn… Anet simply does not seem to read/answer us sadly.
I get it that there are other classes that need more love (necro, engi, ranger), but we’re definitely in need of fixes too. Code fixes not buffs/nerfs things.
Full zerker isn’t currently better than a zerker with cavalier/valk rings (depending on class).
Since you’re stacking fury easily in teams you can sacrifice a bit of precision for health/toughness you lack, there is really no bonus going full berserker.
Imo zerker is your “starting” gear, then you min/max to a better setup.
The game is too casual IMO. I was hoping the PvP and WvW would be an extremely competitive eSport like StarCraft or whichever MOBA people are playing today. Not really, they dumb it down too much. Something is too hard for some players they just lower the bar.
I agree but that’s Arena Net for you.
In GW1 they dumbed down a lot of things and let some things go (ursan? SF? 55hp?).
I still hope in GW2 they will remedy said mistake and finally separate content for easymode players and hardmode players.
We’re two world Anet, you can’t fit us all into one.
TLDR: “Make GW2 into GW1/WoW clone with trinity, manabars and remove thieves because I haven’t figured out how to counter them”
No to all, thank you.
I believe HS is better to cover distances, not sure why some Thieves insist on SB.
In combat SB is better but not outside imo.
How about the opposite: all classes get a resource system.
Cooldown is obsolete design and it’s anti-action.
You got a point OP, maybe they could make it so you don’t “lose” dailies you didn’t do but they remain and you can do them later.
But I think the whole point of dailies is also that they reward based on player activity.
If you log in once a week you can’t really demand to have the same of who logins half hour every day.
And you think greens are literally Masterworks?
The words are simply words the devs chose to designate their gear tiers, nothing more. People get really hung up on the word Legendary though. I wonder if we’ll have the same hubub if they named the Legendary tier the “Ultimate” tier or something. Or maybe “Golden” for the gold it requires.
Whether you think the current method is good or not is your personal opinion which I don’t care enough to discuss about.
EDIT: By the way, I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you. I just think it’s very amusing how some people get really hung up on the term “Legendary.”
This.
But I also think this is partly to blame on Anet who shouted the whole “you will feel legendary!” marketing jargon.
Some people take those things literally.
If you want to go full support, go healing shouts with healing power stacking + empower allies… use LB for firefield mightstacking, AoE blind and immob, then either Axe/Warhorn for vigor stacking and slowdown removal or Rifle as you said for some DPS.
You could also go full banners with regen stacking.
There are plenty of things to do at 80 yet you don’t like any of them.
What do you expect us to tell you? Move to a game you like or something.
I looked through your build and it looks appealing; however, there is a comment from a guy that you completely ignored and I think MUST be addressed.
This is your build (editted the consumables to match the other guy)
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8|7.1g.h1.7.1g.h15|0.0.0.0.0.0|1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7.1g.a7|2v.d19.2v.d19.3v.d19.1i.67.1i.67.2v.d19|k58.u37b.0.0.k65|54.7|eThis is his build (the guy that said his build seems to be better in every way)
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8|1.1g.h1b|4.1g.h1|1n.71j.1n.71j.1n.71j.1n.71j.1n.71j.1n.71j|2s.0.2s.0.3s.0.1g.67.1g.67.2v.0|k59.u5a7.0.0.k56|54.7|eHe utilizes Greatsword/X while you utilize AA/X.
Now, I understand that the overall DPS of the Axe/Axe is greater than that of a Greatsword, but how do you make up for the loss of might?
That’s like 600 (random number, since 25 full stacks is 875 power but FGJ is used regardless and other sources of a bit of might). Does the axe’s superior DPS make up for that?
How far have you gone in Fractals? (Can you screenshot please?)
As I said in a perfect situation where mobs never move, never rupt, and can be all hit within a 180 degree cone, GS version gets a bit more DPS due to might stacked.
In all other situations Axe/Axe is going to unload more DPS.
There just isn’t a weapon that is just better in all situations, I choose Axe because it’s going to unload full DPS in a much broader variety of situations, plus eviscerate 11k dmg spam and full adren back, and because of lifestealing with WA.
I find it mildly funny when people try to push the lifesteal into making something viable. I’m just waiting for those foods to be adjusted and ruin every single situation in which they’re necessary.
Do people not realize that they are the only consumable, chance on crit effects in the game that do not have an internal cooldown?
Lifestealing is just the cherry on top of this build, not it’s fundament.
Also lifesteal food has been discussed to death and Anet decided not to nerf.
I just talked about Axe because I’m tired of seeing people using GS in EVERY freakin situation, even those where you can 360 degree kill 8 mobs with WA while absorbing all damage, but they choose to kill 3 with 100B and die.
I think Anet sadly shifted to easymode when it comes to open world.
People complained a lot about Orr “difficulty” (lol, I know…) and they made it easier.
Hopefully they will find a way to let players go into an hardmode version of current maps just like they did in GW1.
Home instance will be developed further, but right now there are more priorities imo.
Skill fixes, more skills, system that fills dead maps….
Why some people can’t understand the roles thing?
We’re all tanks, healers and DPS at the same time. It’s so much better than pidgeon-holing yourself into one role.
But you’re right on LFG tool.
It’s kind of embarassing that GW2 relies on a third party site for groups.
