Wait… my drops depend on my… windows clock???
I’m not really sure I want to set my clock to server time, I use my PC clock to look at the time.
I think we could really use an official answer on this.
HD defragged already, and what is 3rd party security software?
If you mean anti-viruses I never install them on my PC, I prefer to remove viruses manually (but I never really get them).
cut
1) Again, you’re the only one talking about “builds designed around HB only”.
I don’t see anyone here touting builds that only use HB, you’re fighting windmills.
2) Mobile strikes, WA, Rush, Savage Leap, cover 2450 meters in seconds while ignoring cripple/chill and removing immob.
Just because you haven’t learned to do the above it doesn’t mean the class has problems, it just means you need to learn to do it.
If you refuse to learn then there isn’t much else I can say to help you.
Endgame: You login to play things you enjoy.
Dungeons, fractals, WvW, sPvP, tournaments, dailies, aestethic gear chase, and soon we’ll get Guild Missions.
If you enjoy nothing of GW2 then it’s not the game for you.
I’m not sure what’s going on in people’s heads these days.
If a MMO is not based on a fake unlimited progression then “it has no endgame”.
If a MMO has a fake unlimited progression then “it’s a grindfest”.
You want continuous grind but you don’t want it. Decide yourself.
I say GW2 is perfectly fine with being a game about gaming.
Those who need to be addicted into a circular grind to have fun already have a plethora of games that offer exactly that, I don’t see why we can’t have ONE game that is not like that.
I have a weird situation where my gaming rig loads LA slower than my gf’s PC (which is about 1/4 the power of my rig).
My rig is: 4.0 quad core i5 3750k, 670 GTX, 8gb RAM.
My gf rig: 2.0 dual core, 9600GT, 4gb RAM.
I play on Ultra she plays on Medium.
Is there any way I can improve the load times without making GW2 look like WoW?
Since start I’ve been reading many strange threads, sometimes I couldn’t believe my eyes. I should say that I know people are always whinig around mmo, usually not ingame, but via forum. But lately it’s just too much.
Everything that requires player’s attention multiple times is treadmill.
Everything that is not obtained without effort is grind.
Boss that requires tactic needs to be nerfed or removed from the game.
Dungeon that cannot be completed by first try is too hard and should be fixed to don’t frustrate players.
Party leader looking for certain class is elitist, egoist and should be banned for his behaviour.Don’t you think it’s too much? Because this is what I see every day I visit this forum.
You are mostly right, OP, but there is some point to certain complaints.
While GW2 itself does not require any grind, the ways to obtain a lot of things are definitely implemented horribly.
Getting ascended gear for instance; you get one chance a day to drop rings from lvl 10 (I wouldn’t go lvl 12 or more wihtout any AR).
I got 2 rings already on my Thief, but my girlfriend after many fractals still has to get her first.
I guarantee you she has the skill to play frac 20 at least, she survived a whole lvl 14 run without AR once, but the gear is forcing her back.
The “alternative” way is to spend like 100 gold in ectos/mats to get a ring is something I simply laughed at and very poor design.
Dailies are nothing short of fetch quests. 0/10 kill rats, 0/10 craft, etc.
Legendaries are just a mega gold sink, and the way to do them (i.e. breaking your mouse on the mystic forge to craft thngs) is simply bad.
But IMHO the major flaw is the inability to be self sufficient in making gear.
For instance in Lineage 2 to get a S-grade sword you need 500 of this and 250 of that too, BUT you can farm those items. Mobs do drop them.
In GW2 you can’t farm your own items due to DR.
The whole point of crafting is the do-it-yourself awesomeness.
You go out in the fields, farm all materials, and make your own stuff.
But for instance if I want to craft a pearl axe I cannot just “farm” ectos.
There is no UW here, you cannot go and get ectos yourself.
The strange thing is, Arena Net works for NCSoft.
NCSoft created an extremely well balanced market and crafting system in Lineage 2.
Can’t Anet simply borrow a few guys that made L2 from NC and have them improve the market/crafting system?
Last thing; I still cannot understand why things like p2p trading (or setting up a private shop like L2), dueling etc were left out.
It’s not like those things create any issue, they are just bonus features. Why leaving them out on purpose is beyond me.
That being said, yes, there is too much pointless complaining and little factual complaining.
For instance those “there is no endgame” posts.
GW2 offers a ton of activities at lvl 80 how can you say there is no endgame?
Give an explanation of why you think so.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
So far I have a lvl 80 Warrior, Guardian, Thief.
I’m pretty happy with War/Thief, bit less with Guardian, but I want to roll a new class now.
I ruled out Ele/Mes because I hate “mages”, Ranger because it’s boring, Engi I don’t like.
I love melee and conditions, also love high survivability and Necro seems to have all this; from a purely PvE perspective it looks interesting.
I also loved my MM in GW1, in GW2 I hear MM is unviable but I can live with this.
The problem is I see necros have zero disengages unless I’m missing something, so how am I supposed to WvW?
So far the only good Necros I met in WvW are those conditionmancers defending keeps and dotting everyone for 3-4k damage/tick, and this sounds awesome but on the other hand not being able to roam sounds pretty bad.
So would you say it’d be worth it to roll a necro for me?
There was no employee survey, just a discussion among players.
It’s been debated a lot of times if GW2 would be worth it even with a monthly fee, but Anet on the other hand always guaranteed it would be Buy to Play.
I actually think they’re making a ton more money with the cash shop than they would with subs.
Warrior’s major weakness is predictability.
When on my Thief/Guard I meet Warriors I just blind/block/dodge/evade their tricks and then they are free kills.
Most of their skills need to be setup by first stunning the opponent in some ways, so as long as you’re stunbreaking or dodging the CC he won’t be able to damage you much.
They have no real way to prevent damage outside of Endure Pain.
And finally they are sensible to lockdowns/slowdowns.
If there was no endgame I wonder how I managed to pack 1400 hours so far.
It must be some sort of wizardry.
It’s all subjective really; if your endgame is a checklist of grinds you need to do in order to unlock all content aka invisible walls then it’s not really the game you’re looking for.
GW2 is more like “I want this weapon, that shield, that ring and those armor sets, I’ll play some content I like until I have them all”.
And then there is PvP but it seems like most MMO gamers are deadly scared of fighting other players so they “don’t count it”.
GW2 so far gave me the best PvP I’ve ever played in a MMO.
I lol’d.
Really too many warriors running double axe in pvp it’s a joke.
It’s not that GW2 is doing anything “more”, other MMOs are doing less.
They simply offer mechanics made in the ’90s, which are obsolete by nowaday standards.
Imagine if the current car market was totally made by cars like ‘90 ford escort, and tomorrow a company put a 2012 Audi A3 on the market for the same price.
Unless you’re very simple-minded or nostalgic, there is no reason to buy an escort.
Imo, as long as you’re doing content of your skillcap/gear there is no problem.
I.E. you don’t join Frac 18 with 0 AR and green gear.
You first build your exotics through PvE map completion etc, then you do frac 1-10, then you do 10 for the ring(s), then you try higher levels.
Why hate logan?
Logan is a man who made a mistake and the guilt haunts him, but he was a hero and still shows heroism.
Trahearne is the king of Mary Sues: he jumps out of nowhere with zero experience and somehow everyone acts passively to him and bows head to everything he says, let him take over everything and he so enjoys his own voice.
Hell even Rurik is better than Trahearne.
Nah.
I’m ethically against paying a “monthly fee” for videogames.
First off, GW1 proved monthly fees are not necessary to keep a game alive, game sales are enough; this proves monthly fees are pure greed money-grabs.
Second, by playing a MMO I’m actually doing a service to the company as I help keeping the game alive; the more people plays, the higher the success of the game, its sales and expansions.
If we don’t play the game fails and you lose millions, so you better keep me playing.
Third, I don’t like to give anyone a constant access to my credit card; I’ve read of some really bad experiences and even frauds.
With that said though, I’m fine with paid major expansions.
It’s new content that I didn’t already pay for so it’s perfectly reasonable for it to be paid.
That is as long as it’s actually a major expansion; some games actually demand you pay for minimal updates such as horse armors and I laugh at those “DLCs”.
How much time could it take to make a couple models for horse armors and their textures?
Say it’s 500 bucks worth of modeling/texturing/programming, you sell it at 10 bucks and 1 mil people buy it… you just made 10mil out of 500 bucks. That’s ripping people off.
Full berserker and don’t look back.
Rampager is pretty useless as you’d be a jack of all trades master of none, aka both your raw damage and condition damage would be sub-par.
If you use SoR I suggest slotting runes 2x sup monk 2x sup water 2x major sanct so you get a near 100% uptime on 5might/fury which means perma 175 power/20% crit; they also help keeping might you stacked in other ways up (i.e. Sigil of Strength/GS trait).
If you run AC you should have enough tokens for the monk runes already.
cut
No one here ever mentioned using only frenzy HB and nothing else.
Slotting frenzy/HB doesn’t magically disable every other weapon, skill or utility you have slotted.
It’s also not true Warrior cannot engage>spike>disengage.
Savage leap in -> burst -> WA+Rush away does exactly this.
Actually it covers a longer distance than shadowstep and doesn’t even take an utility slot.
If you add Bull in the scheme it gets even easier.
You tell others to not embarass themselves and you don’t even know these basic things, going around to claim Warrior can’t get in/out at will, claiming frenzy/GS locks a Warrior into one skill…
I genuinely suggest you to lay back a bit, calm down, and consider you might not have realized/learned a few things if this is what you so far acknowledged about Warriors.
As I just showed you, you’re missing quite a few fundamental aspects of the class.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
I heard your theories, theguy.
The issue is that a P/D thief is going to be in stealth 99% of the times, how do you plan on applying all those tactics on something you never see?
You can go by trial and error but the issue is cooldowns. Thief has no cooldowns, Warrior does.
I can do what you say but that’s only 1 out of 10 times that I win.
Most times he manages to win even if just by little.
Love to see everyone agree…
Remember GW1 when all pulls were made of a mixture of all player classes i.e. 1 mesmer 1 necro 1 warrior etc with a build also used by players….?
Now that needs to come back imo.
“You immob the Warrior, then we spike the Mesmer, Guardian cleanse conditions from the Necro and someone needs to rupt the Ele’s meteors”.
I miss tactical fights where you counter mobs like you would counter a real PvP team.
It’s a nice bit of theory there, theguy, would like to see a video of that.
Not considering D/D Eles who are broken and soon fixed, P/D is the only thing I could never counter on my Warrior.
If the Theif is any good he will just heal up the damage from ES, and either blind or dodge or shadowstep break the slow Backbreaker, then Warrior is out of tools for enough time to kill him twice.
Let alone any P/D thief will heal bazillions during stealth and due to omnomberry pie+sneak shot.
Unless I see it with my eyes I rest my case that P/D thief is a tad op.
On my Thief when I go P/D the only one that kills me is Guardian through massive AoE and ring of warding (if I can’t stability out of it that is).
I find sb is pretty useless in small scale pvp, p/p gives you much more useful 7-8k bursts.
I use this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYAQRAoY6alUmiPHdy5E+5Ey2jKUnIK+DFlODaqlA
14k health, 2.4k armor, 3100 unbuffed atk, 90% crit dmg. You get the best from both worlds.
Use powder to either disengage or set up a BS, shadowstep to engage and disengage.
If target resists D/D burst swap to P/P and unload him to death.
Everything is on short CDs so it’s very good for attrition fights.
As long as you are not making it too obvious it is pretty strong and most of all you rarely die.
In the current broken state there is little you can do vs D/D Ele.
It’s not really just the damage/control which you can negate, you can match their speed with the proper tools, and you can even plow through Protection and shields.
But it’s the fact they can heal massive amounts and self-rally during mist that will simply have them out-last you unless you can too heal up a whole healthbar in seconds or rally on your own.
Just wait until next patch lands, Anet is aware of this hole and will fix it.
There are many ways to land HB.
1) Frenzied Bull+HB
2) Frenzied Bolas+HB (works without frenzy too if they dont break immob)
3) Frenzied Flurry+HB (works without frenzy too if they dont break immob)
4) Frenzied Earthshaker+HB (better if sigil of para on hammer)
5) Frenzied Backbreaker+HB
If approaching frontally it’s best that you try to bait their dodge/immobreak before doing this.
@trolls
Quit trolling, all spike builds are “one-trick ponies”.
It’s not like you can use more than “one trick” in the 1-2 seconds window you are meant to spike the target in – that’s the whole point of spiking.
There is no shame in bursting targets it’s a strategy like any other, and a very effective one, guess you never played GW1.
LB War w/ shout healing and cleric gear would be a great Support Warrior, but forget roaming alone and winning.
Too low damage to set up a spike even if you swap utilities to lockdowns.
You could try a hybrid build but you wouldn’t be very good in either role.
Why don’t just make a gear set for roaming and one for support?
You can swap between each other depending on what you want to do.
The good of GW2 is you can transform completely just going out of combat.
The only two builds that I can’t beat are D/D Eles (OP against everyone not just us, Anet said they are gonna be nerfed next patch) and P/D Thieves.
If there is any other spec outside these two that you cannot beat it’s a L2P issue.
You can complain the buggy skills and the major lack of class depth, but you can’t say Warrior is bad in WvW it’s simply not true.
Now that people L2P’d to counter D/D Thief I get more kills on my Warrior than I get on my D/D Thief, go figure.
Because the game automatically fills your empty hand with what’s available on your swaps.
I.E. if you equip S/S on main set but only WH on second, when you swap to second the game will temporarily move one of your swords to your mainhand.
Generally, anything that is removed by stunbreakers is a disable.
Stun, daze, knockback, knockdown, knockleft, knockright, knock knock who’s there, etc.
I see game difficulty is a somewhat heated debated among in-game players so I thought I’d post this.
Now, casual players will complain difficulty (i.e. pre-nerf dungeons) so there is no way to make the game both hard and enjoyable by everyone.
I believe a separated version will be required at some point like GW1 HMs.
In my opinion the best way to create difficulty is not the current oneshot/circles mechanics but simply recreating a simulation of PvP like GW1 endgame PvE.
Instead of pulling 5 windriders who will use the same tactics/skills, a 5 mob pull would be made of 2 HB+Frenzy+EP Warriors, 1 Conditionmancer, 1 disabling Mesmer and 1 Staff Ele – they access the same skillbar a player would have on the same build, and use it according to how a player would play it, while also trying to dodge our attacks.
I don’t think there is a better way to create hard PvE than to replicate player builds and behaviors, so if there is going to be any “hard PvE” at somepoint I sure hope it will be like this.
So would you prefer this system or keep PvE on the plane of “mob-only mechanics” that can be circumvented?
I approve of this.
Trehearne is the videogame character I got to hate the most.
Not even the king of villains gets remotely clones to the suffering trehearne gets you through.
Year 2005, Arena Net Headquarters.
Designer: “Hey Mike so what style do you want for medium armors?”
Mike O’Brien: “We could make a trenchcoat, and…”
Colin: “And then… make a trenchcoat again!”
whole studio stands up and applauds
As long as you’re not abusing terrain glitches (I’m looking at you, noobs that jump below Jade Maw to kill 2 tentacles), it’s fine.
If for some reasons you found some terrain the AI can’t access or can’t attack you while in or gets stuck or takes uncommon behaviors then it’s a bug.
But if you’re playing like say an unicorn Thief rollin’ n’ bleedkitin’ stuff to death then it’s intended gameplay because mobs are working at their full efficiency, it’s just your build that allows you to avoid damage or cripple-kiting things.
Unless you mention the specific situation / method I doubt anyone can give you a final say on this tho.
If you want to be the “smarty” who keeps basic stuff everyone already knows as an area 51 secret we can’t really help.
Uh.
I never played a mesmer, my girlfriend has one in leveling but that’s about it.
I have Warrior, Thief and Guardian, I don’t recall ever losing 1vs1 against a Mesmer beside in a couple weeks were I was getting blasted for 18k shatters sometimes, but that has gone away quickly.
I dodge/EP the shatter or AoE oneshot clones, oneshot that the decoy clone they leave, CC them, OMGMEGADAMAGEYOURDEAD, then just autoattack them while they’re downed (can’t be bothered to try staking and fail, just like vs Thieves).
I have automatic balanced stance on Warrior if they stun me, on Thief I have shadowstep which breaks stun.
The trick is just keeping pressure on them.
Never play defensively just roflstomp them and keep yourself in their face all the times.
Not sure what would be exactly OP in this class.
If I was a necro I would run a power build and just permachill+roflstomp them, maybe with a nice daze and a couple fears in between.
Or as a conditionmancer I would just stack 3k/second DoTs and CC them while avoiding/kiting the clones.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Vulcan miniguns with DPS of 5x 100b and with friendly fire enabled.
I would love to blast all those people sitting at the TP/Bank all day.
My theory is that Anet realized that the people who followed their initial ideals weren’t enough (probably in the 1.5mil?) and they wanted more players so they introduced traditional MMO features like gear treadmills, daily fetch quests and soon to come blizz-like rated team arenas.
In my opinion this isn’t a good plan for the long run.
By catering to everyone and noone at the same time you have a game that has something for everyone, but a lot everyone won’t like.
And those new players they have gotten by trading in the manifesto early I suspect are people who will jump ship at the next new MMO, so we’ll be left with a community made by “the loyals”… the problem is that to rely on loyals, you need to be loyal to them as well.
But ultimately GW2 hit the market in a moment where nobody has anything of quality ready with a product that is of high quality and developed for years; with no real competitors, they can do whatever they want.
It’ll be years before anything remotely comparable comes out, so they rule like that and we don’t have any option (unless you want to go play those ridiculous MMOs there are around).
By market standards this is “success”.
I beat P/D thieves only 1 out of 10 times and all the times of pure luck.
Simply put, they outlast you.
They come out of stealth only to apply bleeds so you have little time to throw some damage.
It’s a tad OP to be honest.
I have a Thief too along with my Warrior, never understood all the D/D complaints (seriously? learn to use invul/block) but P/D is just uncounterable at least on Warrior.
Unless for some reason when P/D thief engages you happen to have slotted all condition removal skills in the game.
Not bad but I’d go with 10 tactics.
Empowered is +6% to all damage in the worst situation (i.e. only SoR buffs), up to +18%.
Sweet revenge is pretty shallow in comparison, only useful in bad PuGs that don’t rez their downeds.
Or you could get Attack of Opportunity which is +10% dmg and Crack shot as T3, still higher damage plus the piercing/CD reduction when you use rifle.
I love my Warrior as she is awesome in pve, but increasingly I am frustrated with playing her in W3. (Tried GS, Ax/Shield, Hammer -several builds)
Warrior’s mostly fine in W3, reading from your problems it’s a el two pee issue.
I’ll give you a quick overview.
Too slow
Permaswiftness + Rush + Savage Leap + WA + Bull = very fast.
Try to use some of these for chasing and keep the rest for disengaging.
Use Rush/Bull for engaging, down player, WA toward safety as both kill finisher and disengager, then swap to sword/warhorn, detarget and 4+2.
This should let you avoid most deaths.
no real cond removal
SoS, SIO, Mending, Charge, Mobile Strikes (I don’t need this last one personally but I recommend it to new players).
It’s mostly fundamental that you counter cripple/immob/chill, other DoTs you can just outheal them most times.
You could always grab SoS which gives endurance regen on top of condition removal.
Also, you could use Lyssa runes so SoR will remove all conditions, but this depends on your build.
main heal popped you are toast (unlike several other classes that have several ways to heal damage)
Healing is not the way you mitigate damage in this game.
EP gives you 3s of invul which you should pop when you predict you’ll be damaged.
If you want even more defense Shield block does the same, and so does Defy pain.
If you’re new to WvW I suggest starting out with all 3, so you last more in combat and realize how it works faster.
so easy to lock down
Again warhorn 4, mobility skills if you have Mobile Strikes and SoS remove these.
zero escape mechanics
Again, WA then swap to sword/warhorn, detarget and 4+2.
There you go, you’re far away and safe.
you stand little chance vs most other classes (and I am talking about equally skilled players before someone chimes in how they always noob stomp every class with their warrior).
You can’t talk about “equally skilled players” because yours is currently in the low end of the spectrum.
As a Warrior I win most of my 1v1s unless it’s against OP builds (P/D thieves, D/D eles) but those will get a nerf next path.
Again, I asked in general chat why so few warriors, and our commander (on Gandara server) basically said they suck in w3… I had no reply to that.
I guess that’s why everywhere I look in w3 I see Guardians, Mesmers, d/d ellies and a few rangers… very few warriors, yet I go pen/shelter pve and warriors are all I see.
Actually Warriors are a tonload in WvW still.
Top tier servers make wide and wild use of Warriors as we’re the only class capable of instant AoE downing 5 people and other awesomeness.
Is this how it is designed? if so, that’s ok.. i’ll use my warrior for farming and create another char for w3.
Don’t assume something is designed wrong, ask for advice and learn.
Of course this doesn’t mean Warrior is fine.
We still have Rush/Bull which are bugged and will fail by design sometimes, Bolas too is still to easy to dodge.
I think you guys just haven’t watched enough rifle warriors do their “dance of death” on champions solo. It isn’t about DPS or crit rate. It is about the dance.
You can tell who is a Mechwarrior/Earthsiege/Armored Core/Front Mission veteran by how they do the dance with a rifle warrior.
And yes, I’m a vet of all of the above.
Soloing vets/champs != PvE group efficiency.
Anyone with a ranged weapon can solo champs btw, the AI is terrible against any form of kiting.
There is no such thing as being a “veteran” of such a simply task, everyone can do it.
Axe easily out-DPS GS.
Axe auto is 10%++ more DPS than HB without considering Dual Wielding trait.
Even if HB has no cooldown Axe would still outDPS it.
Let alone Axe can get 8 vuln immediately (if mace offhand) or 360 degrees DPS if axe offhand.
I think GW2 armors are fine for the most part.
Through mix-matching you can be good-looking on any character.
Agree on this one.
GW2 is already quite limited in build variety, if we don’t even get all the stat combos it’s almost as shallow as spvp.
Not that there is any reason not to go full zerker until a defensive setup gives equal defense as zerker gives offense.
for Greatsword, get rid of that annoying delay in the attack part of the dash #5 skill.
This.
Sometimes Rush fails even on standing critters due to this.
This is true.
I do medieval fencing and BB, those big fantasy swords weigh 20kg, a medieval sword just 5kg.
I can lift it sure, but can only do 1 swing every 3-4 sec, while with a normal medieval 2hander I can swing 3-4 hits per second.
I’m pretty sure not even BB champions can use a 20kg 2hander smoothly.
Still, it’s true that human male’s walking-with-GS animation is pretty…well… uncomfortable to replicate, you would have poor balance.
But Norn animation isn’t any better, holding a GS like that would give you terrible balance as well as wrist pains.
The only realistic running animation with GS is that of Asuras; they keep the weight on the shoulder and the balance in the middle so that your body absorbs the weight.
But this is a game right?
People throws magic and summons things, so I guess I can hold a 20kg GS in this game.
GW2 itself does not promote selfish gameplay.
The whole “play how you want” “it’s all about you” is marketing jargon, you’re free to ask for specific builds before you start a run.
GW1 pugs were no different, there were tons of wammos LFGing in DoA and FoW.
Pretty sure that if you start requiring a certain setup people will adapt; the problem is that you get people randomly without checking.
The other day I wanted a failsafe speedrun, I LFG’d for 3 zerk warriors and 1 support guardian, I got exactly what I wanted.
Try to LFG for the builds you want and you’ll get the comp you want.
With 0% boon duration and no cooldown reduction traits you gain 16.4% crit and 192.5 power from FGJ + SoR combined.
With 40% boon duration and no cooldown reduction traits you gain 20% crit and 269.5 power from FGJ + SoR combined. That is a stat equivalent gain of 76 precision and 77 power. Definitely not worth 6 runes.
You just can’t just combine everything and divide by uptime as if we’re talking PvE.
We’re taliking WvW here, no boon duration means that every time you are inc’d during downtimes (aka a whooping 37% of the times) you are sporting -175 pow -20% crit.
Unless you plan to only fight for 30 secs and then leap away to wait for CD you’re not going to be very useful during attrition fights either.
It also goes without saying that no decent Warrior beside support ones run FGJ or shout cd reduction in WvW.
Hopefully you’ve mistaken this for a PvE thread, else you have serious, serious l2p issues with WvW Warrior mechanics.
(edited by Red Falcon.8257)
Why do people insist on using WvW footage to show the viability of their build? The only way to demonstrate it is a good build is to use sPvP.
We understand that you most likely got best in slot everything for this build. But we also know at least 50% of your opponents (probably more) do not have equal gear.
Long story short. Go wow us with your amazing skills in sPvP where everyone has equal gear then maybe the build could appear viable. WvW is just a massive newb stomp.
P.S. I almost hung myself when the music started playing. lol
Nope.
I played both modes to the death, sPvP is no better indicator of viability of a build.
WvW is a newb stomp? How about hot join then, it’s 100x worse than the worst of WvW.
In its current state, sPvP is nothing short of a minigame stagnated into two builds.
On WvW against good servers I find much more skilled people than I was able to find in 30 ranks of sPvP.
This isn’t GW1 where r12 means you’re pro and AB means nothing.
Until conquest is the only mode, and stats combinations are limited to 2 items, that gamemode will continue to be a roamer vs bunker cheesy noobstomp that sure as hell isn’t the best environment to test the properties of a build.
Also title states this is a WvW build.
It’s like asking a PvE build maker to show a WvW video of his build, doesn’t make any sense.
Cook, I understand your personal preference for Rifles, but that guy is correct.
You are not getting anywhere near the same DPS as say an Axe with your Rifle.
On my char with equal buffs my Axe deals 7.1k DPS.
Rifle gets up to 5k DPS during Volley and then downhill to 2k the rest of the time.
Sorry but DPS-wise melee has triple the DPS of ranged for Warriors.
That doesn’t mean Rifle-only isn’t viable, it just mean that going Rifle only (actually, going anything-only) is being half a Warrior.
To get to best efficiency, not only you need to swap your weapons, but change weapons, utilities and traits according to the next encounter too.
Of course there is no one telling you that you can’t play your way, but you can’t complain if they tell you that is far from using the Warrior efficiently, because it’s the truth.
Please do not waste time trying to dismiss truth, just accept it and rather push on the fact that this is your playstyle and you don’t care about min/maxing.
Considering Anet already has an in-game browser (the TP is entirely browser-based) they could just make something like a mini GW2lfg you can access in-game.
