I like easy games but this game is too easy. This dampens everything else, building the strongest gear feels like a chore simply because it just doesn’t matter and the marriage between action and rpg was okay but diversity just isn’t there.
There are actual “best builds” and it’s very 1 size fits all. People haven’t changed gear in years. It’s the exact progression that was to be avoided, you just sit and wait until something better gets released, swap to that, then wait.
Make a tougher game not new timers or just pile hp and damage into stuff. I miss “thinking” about builds.

Severe lag occurs when the engine can’t calculate the amount of math it has to handle in a given radius (boons, condi’s, actions) … this can’t really beaddressed. Even with a top end PC , every now and then you may hit this … where it feels like the server is catching up to communicate with all clients. And you see it on your opponents too, they are not actually doing much outside of running around avoiding red circles, literally unable to do much outside of AA. A good PC helps as much as you can on your end, A good CPU especially with this game (not GPU).
It has nothing to do with your PC and everything to do with the server.
PPT should never matter except as a tool to measure (alongside kills/deaths) a server’s activity level to ensure somewhat balanced matchups. Having servers playing purely for PPT drains the fun out of WvW entirely. No thank you.
It IS fun on those nights. The problem is, it could be so much more, and that just bugs the players that care to make posts on how they think WvW could be improved. Unfortunately, lack of communication from ANet is stifling the game mode.
Vanilla guardian is probably better for zerging than DH (though with HoT runes/armor/weapons). Vanilla ele isn’t in a terrible spot. Vanilla mesmer, as stated above, is still ridiculous.
I just hope kitten like reaper, druid and scrapper specs get major changes in the future, they’re way too strong for what they do.

In a winner up/loser down system CD would have moved up after the first week and rotated in and out with SoS who has a much smaller NA population.
This would have kept a lot of people from transferring off of the T4 servers. That and the fact that they would relink soon enough.
T4 was getting crushed by CD for weeks. Moving them up just made it worse as a stronger server moved into T4. This also unbalanced T3 which was very competitive before CD got locked into it. Your system wouldn’t have fixed anything as T4 would have been getting crushed by stronger populations just as it is today.
ANet should have balanced out the T2 and T4 in week 2 by unlinking a server or two from CD. This would have made T4 competitive and brought T2 into a closer match as well.
There was no downside to tweaking the links in week two or three.
CD during the first 2 weeks of this current linking was a LOT stronger than it is currently, before all the guilds moved off those 4 servers into the upper tiers. It could’ve been comfortable being the 2nd or 3rd server in T2 in fact, back then. CD should’ve been moved up, but the glicko cliff was just way too massive.
Whatever happened to playing games just for fun? If it’s fun, why would you stop WvWing?
I put myself through years of self inflicted torture grinding away in Maplestory already, so I have zero interest to ever grind for PvE junk ever again. It just doesn’t make sense. I go experience the PvE content ANet releases, then go back to PvP and WvW.
Playing a game for loot/rewards only causes regret in the future when you look back at the game. Personal experience

I think the combat log is borked. Several times I take 5k+ damage out of no where with nothing showing up on the combat log.

The only time Ranger was ever viable in a zerg was when it was still the old melee train meta, when 5 rangers could focus target a single person (usually the commander) and either take him out or force him back and blow his cooldowns. It required having a massive blob to back them up. Nowadays, Guardians have a projectile block naturally as part of their kit and don’t have to sacrifice a utility slot for it to protect their backline (not counting magnetic aura reflects from frontline eles), making rangers basically worthless since you don’t do much damage as a melee since you have to build so much tank to survive the melee while providing little to no support to your team mates, and your ranged damage gets nullified most of the time.
Deal with it, stay out of the zerg, go skirmish and kill the thieves and mesmers, which you are really really good at.
Get a 40k hp full sentinels warrior
I tried it but even with momentum and might at 25 stacks I could only make it to 39,8k HP.

If you want fights then anything in T1 / T2.T1 for larger scale combat, T2 FA / MAG if your more interested in havoc / defending. Mag has a growing but smaller OCX and could use extra’s, FA has an existing presence but still falls well short of the T1 OCX coverage.
JQ’s OCX is dead. We rolled right over SoX as we usually did but there was no other JQ force out.
You base this on 1 night which was a Saturday night. As for running over sox yes well its easy when you have more than double our numbers

As is BG, its a reflection of the game itself. But we aren’t quite dead yet.
Not really. Our OCX has never been as active as it has been now since Season 1 (not counting Seasons activity). We queued 2 maps last night towards the end of OCX. Our EBG was queued 40 deep (we usually queue the map during reset night OCX regardless). Granted, it’s the weekend, and most of BG are weekend warriors, but it is indicative of BG’s ability to maintain our population, whether through transfers or through internal growth.
Now if only we can get those guys to play during the week….

There may be good individual players in lower tiers, but they lack good commanders and leaders to bring their server up. Every server that wants to survive and grow needs at least 1 ‘celebrity commander’ that can rally the server. I’ve yet to see something like that in the lower tiers except for SBI, cause they’re not really T4, considering they have T2 coverage.

Players can find other players they like playing with and join their guild but can get stuck once the servers become unlinked. Servers are really a dumb concept that are impossible to balance at least in every RvR game I have played.
Or, this a concept for you, only recruit from your own World??? You know well in advance that linking will change. So you can’t complain after the fact.
Not really… For most worlds (all but 4 servers for NA), you can simply get them to transfer. It’s only 500 gems for the majority of servers. If your guild can’t afford that, well, probably not worth joining that guild in the first place, as it shows their priority isn’t in keeping the community on one server.
You know, I never realised how large the AoE on the napalm was on the mortar until this patch.

I’ve never had this many BoH until the buff to their drop rate from player kills. Literally overflowing with them now.
Problably because you never use them. I know a lot of people who say they have too many BoH but they only use them to buy somenthing for big spender daily or to buy some food from pocket provisioner.
Nope. I’ve probably used 20-30k~ of them in the past 3 months. They’re just super easy to get now with the massive buff on BoH drop on player kill. Sometimes get 4 a kill.

Servers that are last in their match and have the lowest KDR clearly are getting blobbed.
And when the lowest score is the highest KDR such as TC is at T1 atm?
I am no analyst, but I’d say it’s related to the fact that we get night capped and karma trained on off hours.
Not really. You also have the least amount of kills, meaning that there’s just simply less of you guys online to kill.
If this gets changed in the wrong way, you’ll get dumb nerfs like what happened to elementalist in the last patch – designed to tone them down in PvE raids, but completely destroyed in sPvP.
Herald’s Facet can be toned down a bit, but too much and it’ll put them in Warrior status.
I’ll take a good ranger over a kittenty guardian any day. Thing is though, I’d also take a mediocre guardian over a good ranger any day.
Rangers just don’t bring much to the table in the current meta. DH push with Shield of Courage, so your rapid fire doesn’t do damage. Frontline push with Resistance and Stability from DH+Rev, so your immobs, cripples and LB knockback does nothing. The only way you can deal damage is if you use sword or greatsword, which requires you to go melee, in which case you’re better off going Revenant, Warrior or Guardian for more melee damage and sustain utility.
Rangers are literally useless in zergs these days unless you spec tanky healing druids now. Or maybe against uncoordinated pug zergs too.

All core WvW classes with the the exception of necromancer play support in WvW. Any other class have no place in a good WvW zerg composition (thief, engi, ranger, soon-to-be warrior)
Generally speaking, bandwagoners are all bad players that can’t fight for kitten. Wipe them repeatedly and they go bandwagon somewhere else
Lol people always forget that BG was the largest population server before megaservers hit. When ANet gives us something to hype WvW up, some of that PvE population shows up and shows how stacked BG would still be if megaservers went away. That’s what the ‘hibernating’ is, other than as a meme :p
The few SEA guilds DB got are strong fight guilds.

Both ND(MGR) and Ke are fight/GvG guilds. They’ve given me more of a challenge in open field fights than against any other guild or group in the past 1.5 years.
Yeah agreed. I think the resistance proc doesn’t need to be touched, but I think completely removing either the Toughness or Vitality stat from the rune would be a good way to nerf it. People are using Durability in tandem with high DPS sets like Berserker or Marauder while staying tanky as all heck due to how many stats it gives.
Guildie crashed tonight in the middle of our raid. Lucky it was between fights so we didn’t really miss much but even so… annoying.
The crying about PPT is cute. The few SEA guilds DB got are strong fight guilds. Enjoy what they offer and stop whining.

I’m gonna QQ about the skill balance changes… so unnecessary to make Venom share baseline… So unnecessary to nerf elementalists that hard.
Elementalists were already disappearing from WvW meta due to a clunky bomb mechanic (in a meta where the melee train can’t get CC’d anymore) and they were basically useless in sPvP except as a heal/buff bot since cele ammy got nerfed amongst other ele nerfs a few months back. Nerfing eles so hard just over the raid meta is just really unfortunate.
Conditions OP? Better nerf ele (and buff conditions even more on top of that)

Besides elementalist, not much else. Maybe on a roaming DH build. Could be ok for a scrapper as well, but scrapper does better with power now compared to condi simply due to scrapper traits.
I don’t think too many people use meta builds for WvW roaming. There’s a handful of builds that are fairly meta (condi chrono, or bunker druid as examples), but those classes are built with either low mobility (as in the case with chrono) or low damage (as in the chase with druid). A druid will never win a 1v1 unless they’re up against a noob (or maybe someone lagging). A chrono will never chase someone down due to having such little mobility. A scrapper or warrior will never die in a 1v1 due to their ridiculous self sustain.
Too many siege humpers here. How can anyone even think of implementing this crap? Talk about wanting to siege turtle!
You could say ET came out of hibernation too. Remember that their server has lacked meaningful leadership basically since AA left. The lack of organisation and guilds means dead server. BG has the server structure in place which I would guess, brought out a lot of ET players. Not to mention the dozens that went to ET to play with BG (bandwagoners)
See, I’d rather have those stats buffed up a tiny bit (+120 stats) and make the siege cap more punishing (say 2-3 pieces of siege as opposed to the current 5). I don’t mind having a few more stats. It helps the defending side but promotes fighting as it encourages you to take advantage of more stats.
Bumping the glicko to get CD+ out of t4 isn’t going to help much, because of how the balance was done t3 is probably still bigger than t4 populations. Maybe SoS+ or SBI+ will drop down but that’s not going to stop the clubbing from happening.
I put a couple of alts in those tiers. One has been on ET for about 6~ months now. One, I put on SoS a week ago. CD would stomp T3 hard. SBI and SoS would struggle against T4 servers atm during the weekdays. CD right now has a similar population to YB or FA.
The fact they’ve coined terminology like “hibergate” suggests they need an excuse for losing, as if no other server deals with the same issues. There are just as many tryhards on BG, but when it’s a fairly even match and they lose, we’re all expecting to see that magical word pop up that negates their loss.
The term was coined by a player on JQ.
