Kinda sucks the golem banker is only 5 days but… leave a character slot open. Make alt. Deposit its golem banker in your bank (don’t use the golem banker it comes with to do this). Delete the alt to open up your space again. You now have a new golem banker waiting for you for when the timer runs out on the first one. Thus you have potentially infinite golem bankers.

IF WoW had come out with an Emerald Dream expansion I would have played it. I’m not interested in MoP and I don’t like where they are taking the game with it. But I know there are plenty of people who still really enjoy WoW and there’s nothing wrong with that. You should play a game that you find fun. For me, it’s GW2 and it’s the only game that I’m playing at the moment.

On Monday I expect them to fix the problems with the dungeons and other misc bugs. If we get some new content this early after release, it will be a bonus as far as I am concerned.

Things I’m hoping for in the future:
Kodan and Tengu playable races
An instance similar to what we had in GW1 with Sorrow’s Furnace or Domain of Anguish or Underworld etc. Basically it was like doing hard mode quests with a larger group in an instanced area. I think that would be a lot of fun, not take anything away from what GW2 is trying to be and give the raiders, who keep asking for a larger group, something to do.

I just wanted to say thank you to ArenaNet. Over the last few days I have been playing I have noticed a dramatic decrease in the number of gold spammers I’ve seen. Also, since I’ve been reporting and then blocking the gold spammers I have seen, not one of them has shown up as being on line on my block list. It’s so nice to know that Anet is working hard to get rid of these annoying gold sellers. =)

We won’t get pandas (thank goodness) but maybe someday we’ll get Kodan.

Tengu plis

I’m personally hoping for both. =)

I don’t really think they should give the dungeon exotic set pieces at the end of each run. Maybe a random exotic. I could see maybe if you completed all of the paths, on the final boss on your last path, you’d get a piece of the set. I also think you should have to run the dungeons a few times to collect tokens. Otherwise you’ll have people finishing the dungeons in 6 runs saying how bored they are with nothing to do.

Rpgtabbycat.5869

I disagree with the OP. I’ve definitely gotten my monies worth out of the game. And I believe that it is different enough from the other games out there. Yes there are similarities but the fact that they bring all the good things into one game is what makes it special.
Personally, I’m glad they don’t have phased zones like WoW had because that made it a pain if you needed to get someone to help you. You couldn’t because they weren’t at the same point in progression so they couldn’t even see your character at times. While the changes you make in GW2 aren’t permanent, at least it doesn’t prevent you from playing with others.

It’s to your benefit to explore the map because you get some very nice rewards for doing so (items, crafting materials, gold and a lot of xp). It sounds like you are missing out on a lot of Dynamic Events. The questing system isn’t just the hearts, it’s the Dynamic Events too.

The anti grind thing bugs me but it’s the only complaint I have with the game. I decided I could either accept the things in GW2 that bug me and continue to play or I can choose to play another game. Regardless of which decision I had made, it was $70 well spent.

Even though I have a level 80 character, I haven’t hit boredom mode yet. I keep thinking of more things that I can do. And I have sooooo many achievement left to max out.

The game doesn’t tell you, here’s what you do at end game. It lets you make that decision for yourself. I don’t understand the people who say the game isn’t fun, or the controls are clunky or whatever complaint they have. I honestly just think the game isn’t for them. And that’s ok. It’s why there are so many different games on the market. Everyone’s idea of fun is a little bit different. I personally can’t stand FPS games but I know a lot of people love them. It’s ok to not like the game.

Rpgtabbycat.5869

Wow, it sounds like you accomplished quite a bit. I’d say that $60 was worth it for that much entertainment, wouldn’t you? The nice thing about this game is there is no sub fee. What does that mean to you? Well, it means you have the freedom to go play other games while you wait for ArenaNet to bring out more content. And then you can go back and play the content. Plus you never have to feel like you are being left behind because there is no gear treadmill. They’ve created the perfect game to play alongside other games. For some of us (even those of us who put in crazy hours in the game) there’s enough to do to keep us busy until the next content update.

As a side note: once they fix the bugs with the drops in the explorer dungeons, people will go back to playing them. Then we will see a lot fewer topics like this one.

Dynamic Events scale according to how many people are around them. So if no one is there to help, you can do them solo.

Yes, you can also solo champions. They just take a lot longer to kill and require a little bit more skill.

Good news for you is you an be in more than one guild at a time. You can only represent one at a time though. (Basically that just means you can only earn influence and talk to one guild at a time but you can switch between them.) I’d suggest finding another guild that does some of the explorer mode dungeons and join them too.

A few simple questions for you:
Have you finished your personal story?
Did you complete all the map areas?
Have you found and tried out the jumping puzzles?
The dungeons… have you done them yet? I’d recommend joining a guild and tackling explorer mode dungeons with them. Story mode is the easier. But explorer mode you will need actual teamwork and planning to complete. It might be what you are looking for. Keep in mind, though, that dungeon rewards are currently bugged and you might not see much for your effort right now. Anet is working on a fix for it.

It really is often better to simply kill the mobs around the person than to actually attempt to rez. As a ranger, I can put my pet in to help grab the aggro, put up a healing circle and attempt to rez someone. Sometimes I have to stop mid rez and back out of it to prevent dying. You can stop rezzing someone, just jump or hit your back keys and it will pull you out of it.

I decided to go finish out my personal story and hope that the bug gets fixed.

It does make it annoying when you are farming materials for crafting because only specific level monsters drop the loot. And you have to go to specific level areas to get it. If it’s low level, not too bad because there are a lot of low level zones. Higher level areas (70+) you are limited to where you can go. So you end up running into the code or you end up buying stuff off the trading post because it’s faster and less annoying that way.

This is my only complaint so far and I think once we get additional level 70-80 zones it won’t be quite so bad.

The anti-farming code does get frustrating when you are trying to gather materials to level up your crafting skills. I’m just making level 80 rare armor and having a difficult time gathering stuff. I am somewhat dreading what I’ll have to do to get exotics.

More level 70 – 80 or 80 zones would definitely help alleviate this problem.

Well over 200 hours since head start. Even so I consider myself a casual. Let me give you my definition of Hardcore and Casual. A hardcore player, to me, is someone who constantly runs dungeons (or raids) to get the best available gear in the game and maxes out his character using that min/max mumbo jumbo spreadsheet calculation stuff that I just don’t get. A casual is a person who, regardless of the amount of time spent in the game, plays it just for fun. I might run through a dungeon, or I might work on my crafting, or I might explore. But I’m not trying to be the best of the best of the best in the game.
