I see nothing wrong with having our own house built in the existing Home instances. I think it might even be a nice idea to have purchasable upgrades for your homes. Perhaps the houses start out small but you can purchase (in game or through gems?) upgrades that make your house larger.
People would still be able to visit your home by going to your instance (the party leader determining what house shows up if you have two players of the same race) and keep the game clutter free.
There is no healing class. There are some classes that can potentially do heal support better than others. This game, however, you need to have a character that is more of a jack of all trades rather than attempting to fill specific roles.
No, I don’t think so. As much content as you get in this game, it’s easily worth the $60. Not having a monthly fee like the other big MMO’s is enough. Plus what you describe with advertisements and commercials and such would totally drive me away from the game. Which is the exact opposite of what they want.
I’m wondering if they added Legendary Armors to go with the Legendary Weapons if that would give some of the level 80’s something more to do.
You win the internets for the day. Made me laugh out loud reading this. Nicely done!
I played GW1 and I play GW2. They are not the same. They are not meant to be the same. If you come into GW2 expecting it to be just like GW1 you will be disappointed. It’s not a GW1 expansion pack. It’s a whole new game. Enjoy it as if it is a whole new game.
Also keep in mind that they do occasionally expand the servers to hold more players (so that could also explain how some people manage to get into a full server).
I admit, I enjoy saving a person in a downed state. I understand why people who pvp and wvw are annoyed with it. That just means you have to keep smacking the player when they are downed so they become defeated. I don’t mind rezzing defeated players either. Why? You get xp and it goes towards earning an achievement/title. Not to mention it just feels good to do it.
I don’t particularly like being in a downed state but it does make you feel good when you are able to rally and cheat death.
The cost of an extra character slot is about the same as a month’s subscription in an average MMO.
Clever girl!
The difference is you don’t have to use cash to do it. You can purchase gems with game gold to buy character slots.
The first day of headstart the game was down for three hours. And it’s been up and running ever since. I think they do take it down briefly on occasion to do big patches. But most of what they do they don’t have to take the servers down for. Which is truly amazing. Another reason to love ArenaNet and GW2.
It really does amuse me that they try to sell a power leveling service when the largest part of the entire game is the leveling process.
I wouldn’t mind if they added some 8 man content that was similar to say Sorrow’s Furnace, Underworld or Fissure of Woe. I am not, however, interested in anything remotely similar to gear progression. No thanks.

But… how would that even fit into lore?
There’s a Charr in a 30-40 zone that has a helicopter nobody thinks will fly. I forget the Charr’s name, and the name of the area, but flying machines are in the lore. I’ll edit this post with the name of the npc and the area in a few, just got done playing.
Edit: Kailani the Foolhardy, Fangury Watch Waypoint, Fields of Ruin. That’s where the helicopter is, and the Charr’s name. It’s a pretty cool looking craft, looks like it’ll fly just fine.
2 million games sold x 5 character slots per account equals a LOT of persistent housing.
I think instanced would be just fine.
Fishing does have kind of a lazy zen feel to it. I wouldn’t mind it added into the game just for fun.
I’m patiently waiting for Polymock… even though I’m not any good at it.
Wow that’s a lot. They must really like you.
Personally I’ve gotten 3 or 4 spam mails I think. Maybe some servers are being hit harder by gold sellers than others? Or maybe they don’t like me as much.
I’ve been playing one character since head start and I still have 8 areas left on the map to cover (I’m level 68). I haven’t finished my personal story yet and I’ve only done two dungeons on story mode. I’ve completed 3 jumping puzzles and have no idea where all of them are. I haven’t even tried out pvp or wvw yet. I honestly don’t know how people can say they’ve run out of stuff to do already. It boggles the mind.
Oh and lest I forget… <3 you Colin. Can’t wait to see what new stuff you guys have waiting in the wings for us. I’m never going to finish this game, am I? =D
We don’t need a dungeon finder, we just need a better looking for group tool. One that lets you specify what it is you are looking to do. Then you can see who else is looking for the same thing and group up with them. That’s pretty much what they had in GW1. Right now all the LFG tool lets you do is list your name.

Unless you just have some crappy item on the Trading Post, one copper isn’t going to make a lot of difference. The TP is game wide so there are 2 million potential buyers.
As for me, I’ll be glad when people stop posting things for 1 or 2 copper over the vendor price.
Maybe they will give us a plushy Quaggan.
click on the link for the exquisite jewel and it says in the tooltip that it can’t be applied to armor, only rings, amulets and trinkets.
On the flip side, the pronunciations of “Quay” and “Trebuchet”, along with “Centaur” and “Minotaur” are constant sources of amusement for my guild and I on Mumble.
Here’s a few hints ANet:
Quay is pronounced key.
Trebuchet, treh-buh-shay.
Centaur, sen-tor.
Minotaur, my-no-tor.Your pronunciations:
Quay = Kway
Trebuchet = Treh-boo-chett
Centaur = Sen-tarr (YAAAARRRR!)
Minotaur = Minna-tarr (YAAAARRRR!)Dear lord, it’s tragically hilarious.
I think you got overly obsessed with the pirate theme with those last two.
I’m from the Midwest and I do say Sen-tarr and Minna-tarr. Saying it the way you would prefer it pronounced just sounds wrong to me.
People tend to speak the way others around them do. That also explains why when people move to another location, they eventually will pick up a bit of the local accent.
GW2 has spoiled me and I don’t want to play anything else.
However, I am excited about the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online. IF they do it right, it could be a lot of fun. Plus I miss Morrowind.
I work with someone who worked on Elder scrolls online. It’s has more in common with WOW than it does Skyrim. Traditional (wow type) gameplay, classes and itemization progression systems. If that’s your thing, have a ball.
Oh that makes me rather sad =(

Step away from the delete button. Just put some duct tape over that part of your screen so you don’t ever have to see it again.

I think one of the main reasons GW1 let you afk for so long was that it was a necessity for a very long time if you wanted to reach level 20 in pre-searing to get the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title. You had to death -level. And that itself was such a long and tedious process that most players left it running overnight while they slept, so they could wake up in the morning and kill off a few monsters for a little xp. They have added in some daily quests since then to help with leveling in pre-searing Ascalon.
Yes, you can only make characters on one realm. Soon, though, we should be getting the “guesting” feature where you will be able to play with others on another realm. I’m not sure when that will be ready. Also, we did have free realm transfers for a while, but I don’t know if these are still available.
ArenaNet is banning them as fast as they can, I’m sure. But the problem is, when you ban one, two more seem to pop up in their place. Just report them for spamming and then block them. That’s pretty much all we can do right now.
I honestly feel sorry for the guys at Anet that got stuck with the job of tracking the gold sellers and banning them.
I think some people are just missing the mini-tutorial that you had with Factions and Nightfall. It does take a little bit to pay attention to what is going on. But the general gameplay is not that hard to figure out. Once you learn when to dodge, you are pretty much set.
At level 65 I find the costs for traveling to be too expensive. I find myself hardly ever using waypoints unless I absolutely have to (as in I get stuck). I loved them in the game at first when they were inexpensive but now it’s like… OK these cost too much, can we have mounts instead? I never thought I’d say that.
GW1 also had the same anti-farming policy in place and they haven’t changed it in all the years it’s been out. Don’t expect them to change it with GW2. That said, find a few of groups of whatever to kill and alternate between the groups in order to avoid it. Even if you farm some crating mats you don’t need, you can either bank them or trade them on the trading post.
The interesting thing about the DE’s is they scale according to how many people there are around them. So even if there is just one person around, they can complete a DE with the help of the NPC’s. I have done that before in the early hours of the morning before most people are awake and playing.
They just need to implement some sort of better reward for them to encourage more people to play them. The biggest complaint seems to be they are too difficult and time consuming for the reward that is given.
Come to think of it, I’m not sure I’ve even seen a turtle in the game. Where are they?
I agree with Artbeard… my character will shout out something about the pet’s death. I guess if you are listening to something else instead of the game while you play, you could miss this. Another clue would be the fact that your pet stops attacking and limps back to you.
This is the first time I’ve ever played an MMO where I actually enjoyed the leveling process. Thank you, ArenaNet, for making such a fun and addictive game!
Tailoring and leatherworking professions can make them. It’s one of the discovered patterns.
I think the reason we don’t learn the pets is so you can use them, share them among your alts or use them and then later trade them. Very few of them are account bound.
To prevent your pets from being deposited into collections, place them in an “invisible” bag.
I would actually prefer to see Rangers get crossbows added instead of rifles. I just think it would work better for them. Charr rangers with crossbows would fit them perfectly too, not to mention being awesome for all the other races too. =)
Please do not charge us to "relearn" professions when we reach 400 in crafting.

Considering you don’t have to buy the majority of your crafting patterns, I think charging a fee to change out your crafting professions makes a lot of sense.
Raids not so much but…
I would love to see them add something like Fissure of Woe or Underworld.
I personally would like to see them update the current Looking For Group tool so that you could put in more information. Similar to the one that they had in GW1. You don’t really need an instant portal to the dungeons since there are waypoints everywhere.
As for mounts, although not really a necessity, I think it would be fun to collect them. So that has my vote too.
I definitely agree that the entire system encourages a good community. That is part of what makes this game so enjoyable.
Norn should be able to pick up asura players and throw them as projectiles
Posted by: Rpgtabbycat.5869
I could picture an Asura riding around on a Norn’s shoulders. Not so sure a Norn could get away with throwing an Asura. Have you seen their teeth? Gives new meaning to the term “ankle biters”.
I haven’t had any problems with leveling either. There’s been many times when I’ve thought to myself “I’ve gained another level, when did that happen?” It seems like it goes so fast. But I do enjoy the adventure and exploration. So maybe that’s where we are different. I think this is mainly and exploration game, and if you don’t like to explore… well I guess you could try crafting.
I’m hoping we’ll get Polymock soon since there is a Polymock Arena in the game. We just don’t have access to it yet. Keep your fingers crossed. =)
If you do implement dueling, ArenaNet, please please please please give us a little check box in options to give us the right to “automatically reject all duel requests”.
I would love to play both Tengu and Kodan. Both races are amazing.
