Sylvari Ranger Kyntaris
This is the name I use for a character in another game. I used that game’s random name generator. I just really liked the name and wanted to use it again.
Short answer. I’m female. All my characters are also female.
Frustrated with how easy it is for players to train mobs on other players.
Posted by: Rpgtabbycat.5869
I accidentally did that once. I was trying to get to a POI and had about 3 mobs running behind me. I ran past someone and they all jumped on the poor guy. I stopped and helped kill them all because it was my fault they jumped him in the first place.
I know there are some people who do train mobs on others. It’s annoying and I hope that the dev team will fix it soon, or put monsters on a shorter leash.
Some mobs (especially the risen) totally ignore your pet and go right for you, even when you send in your pet first. It’s annoying.
My pet has always run in front of me, sometimes aggroing something. That gets annoying. I’m hoping they will fix this and put our pets on a shorter leash.
I’ve noticed that if my pet kills something that I haven’t personally hit myself, that I will get XP for the kill and also loot that drops off of it. Is this working as intended? I know my pet is supposed to be support for me but it seems as if this could possibly be exploited.
I disagree. Give the market time to stabilize. What hurt the economy the most was the fact that the Trading Post was unavailable at the start of the game.
Trading Post is definitely messed up. I was trying to purchase crafting materials. Sometimes I would get a message telling me it couldn’t find the item. Sometimes it would give me the item plus the cost of the item in the pick up window. Sometimes it would give me 1 copper in the pickup window. While I do have items for sale, none of those items were sold while I was attempting to get crafting materials.
I wanted to add and edit that this just recently started happening within the last half hourish or so. It’s not been on ongoing problem for me.
The only thing I’m worried about is that players who need to do story mode may find a harder time getting their guildies to do them with them since they’ve now nerfed the rewards you get for completing them more than once.
I killed the Claw of Jormag. I pew pewed with my bow, I dropped my healing circle, I dropped my little stone spirit guy and I rezzed some people around me. I still got gold reward for the event. The thing is, you have to find balance for the dynamic events. You can’t just heal people, you can’t just run around rezzing people. You have to do damage and throw in a little support. You’ll find it much more enjoyable if you do.
People complain about lack of endgame and then people complain you have to grind too much to get endgame rewards. That seems rather contradictory to me.
I’ve come to the conclusion that some people just like to complain. Instead of listening to them, just continue to play the game and have fun like you are now.
Letting us pick weaponskills without actually changing the core game.

I like this idea too. Obviously the most powerful skills would need to be on the higher timer. Having multiple skills for each weapon would make the game more challenging to balance but having the cd timers would certainly make it easier.
If not now, perhaps this is something the devs can look into for the future with the first expansion pack?
I’m not Australian but you guys have my support. I really hope they do consider hosting a server in Australia so you all can play without a huge ping. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you too.
My character is level 80 now and I am still having fun in this game. I have so much left to do. I’m so glad I didn’t rush through all of it. The game is still wonderfully fun for me.
Keep saving. You don’t have enough for your Tier 3 culture armor yet. :p
Everyone has an opinion. And this game isn’t perfect which is why the developers continue to work on improving it. Providing feedback helps the game. But not everyone is going to agree with everything you have to say because everyone’s experience isn’t going to be the same.
For example: I just hit level 80 on my character. So I travel up north to one of the few map areas that I haven’t been to in my 24 days of playing (the wintery 70-80 zone). I’m looking around and scramble up to the top of the vista. As I’m viewing the scene from my Vista, a huge dragon flies through it… while I’m watching it. I didn’t even know there was a dragon in this zone. Moments later I’m killing it along with everyone else. Some people would say OMG zerg group, no fun. Me, I think it was fun and exciting. It is one of the most memorable things that’s happened while I’ve been playing. One of those things that make you say “Oh wow!”
Just remember when you do provide your feedback, make sure it’s constructive. Saying, I don’t like “insert whatever here” doesn’t help. Explaining what the problem is, or what you feel is lacking or what could be changed to make the game better, helps. They might not incorporate everything you suggest, but they do listen.

Sometimes I think Anet game developers must have the patience of a Saint when dealing with all the people constantly contradicting themselves about what they want in GW2.
I’ve got about 8 gold. Not rich, but not poor either. I’m saving it for things like waypoint travel and repair costs.
I really wish players would make up their minds.
You whine when the game is too easy.
Then you whine when the game is too hard.
You whine because there’s nothing to do at 80.
And then you whine about grinding dungeons for badges for gear.
You whine that the game is too much like WoW.
And then you whine that the game doesn’t have a dungeon tool, dps meter, and inspect like WoW.
There’s just so much going back and forth. I honestly hope that ArenaNet just sticks with whatever their philosophy of what makes a game fun because if they try to incorporate everything players whine about wanting, other players will then whine that those things are in the game!
I think one of the reasons they did that nerf to the dungeon runs was to prevent people from consistently farming the same path over and over just because it’s the easiest. That would have prevented people from being able to complete the more difficult paths due to players being unwilling to run alternate paths. I don’t think the nerf applies if you are doing all the different paths in the dungeons. Someone can correct me on that if I’m wrong, though.
I did my first dungeon on explorable. I died a few times. I had a lot of fun. It was challenging, it was crazy and sometimes I wondered how it could be completed. (I did CM with my guildies). You know what? I’d do it all over again.
I think we’ll start seeing some new content once they finish ironing out most of the bugs in the game. I know that’s more of a priority for them right now. There are still plenty of things to do. The best advice is don’t rush through it. Take time to actually watch the Vistas.
If ArenaNet isn’t going to give exotic armor pieces from a boss chest or at the end of an explorable dungeon run, what other types of items would you like to see that would replace the blues and greens?
Repair canisters
Keys
40 count stacks of materials
More rare crafting materials
More runes
Mini pets
More gold rewards
Transmutation stones
Others?
The dungeons are pretty crazy but that’s what also makes them fun. I do agree there should be better rewards for completing them. If they don’t want to give better armor than blues or greens they should just award crafting materials (like the 40 you get for completing a zone), a rare crafting piece and a rune.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to just add people like that to your ignore list? It’s there for a reason.
That was one of the worst things in Aion. I would not want that in this game.
I’ve actually started adopting kitten when speaking in real life. The swear filter is contagious!

Instead of changing it for everyone, I think it might be a better idea to make a graphics option that can be toggled on/off for color blind people. It could work as a type of filter, changing the way that you see colors on your screen but not affecting it for anyone who has the option toggled to off.
This has got my vote too. I really miss those amazing capes from GW1.
There is an achievement and title that goes with rezzing. I know it’s not what you want to hear right now but at least it’s something while we wait for Anet to fix it.
It does seem with the dragon events there is some sort of cutoff time as to how late you arrive as to whether or not you get a reward for it. But unless you come in at like the last 25% of health, if you’ve done damage to the dragon, you should get rewarded for it.
I’ve also noticed the hitbox for the dragons is difficult to find. Plus I also tend to lose the target when the dragon rears up or flies into the air. Maybe making it larger or more noticeable would solve some of the problems?
Can we get rid of the medal sheet in the Character Select Screen?

The medals thing doesn’t bother me but I’d be in favor of a toggle to minimize it.
Don’t underestimate the salmon and the moa. I’ve heard horror stories about the moa. And I watched a shark take on a salmon… and lose. O.o
It’s true that some of the areas can really wear you out with all the constant action going on. If you haven’t completed the entire map yet, take a break by going to some of the lower areas. They don’t seem to have quite as much of a hectic pace as some of the 50+ zones do.
I would absolutely love to have a crossbow for my Ranger.
This game is still a baby. And the amount of content it has at launch is more than enough for most of us. The ones who are complaining are the people who rushed to level cap as fast as they could.
Every time I run across a bug in the game, I report it. Why? Because that’s how things get fixed. We know there are lots of bugs in the game. We also know Anet is working on fixing them.
The question is misleading.
Sure if you are going to pvp you will get some gear so that you can go to the mists and do so. But…
The gear that you get to do pvp you cannot use in pve. Thus you still have to level your toon in order to get the best gear in the game.
Since that is a popular topic, and locking them doesn’t seem to stop people from talking about it, maybe make a sticky post at the top of the section and then simply move the various threads into that one. It would serve to help keep the discussion area free of clutter and also make an area for everyone to talk about the gold seller problem.
Thanks in advance for considering doing that before you lock this one. =)
Personally, I’d like to see them add more dances, not remove any of the ones they already have.
The Sylvari are fine with their twiggy bodies, after all, they are twigs!
Humans are sort of like barbie dolls. I finally ended up just going with the default body style (choice 1) for my human.
I’m on the fence on this one. I never buy dyes for my characters. What they find is what they get. If the character that collected it already knows it, it goes in my bank so my other characters can learn it. Sometimes I do wish that a really cool dye I found on one character would be available to my other characters.
In GW1, everything was instanced but we did have a few things for bigger groups and those I would like to see in GW2. I really think if they put in something similar to Fissure of Woe and Underworld (etc) that players could do at level 80, we’d see a lot less complaining about nothing to do.
Some of the jumping puzzles are difficult and do take several attempts to do. Without the Vistas I think the map completion would be too easy. I am just glad there are only a few jumping puzzles you have to get through.
As a side note, if you ever get stuck on a Vista or point of interest for that matter, a lot of them are up on youtube. I’ve hunted a couple down that way in order to save what sanity I had left.
The problem is, the system can’t really tell you aren’t a gold farmer. A lot of regular player accounts have been hacked by gold farmers. It would be nice if they could implement some sort of captcha thing into our email system to verify that there is indeed a human behind the computer. But I don’t even know if that could stop gold farmers.
GW1, WoW, Rift and Aion.
I raided in WoW. I downed bosses in Firelands. Even did a few of them on heroic. Downed some of the bosses in the regular Dragon Soul. I’m tired of raiding. I’m tired of working so long and hard to get my gear only for it to end up being worthless when the next tier hits. I love it when my character looks awesome. I hate it when that awesome gear becomes useless.
I enjoy playing GW2. The dynamic events and the dungeons, for me, give me as much thrill as raiding 10 man content ever did. And the best thing is, after I grind out all the tokens for the dungeon set I want for my characters, I know it won’t be obsolete when the next expansion is released.
I’m sorry that those of you who want to keep on chasing carrots are disappointed. The game is exactly what Anet has been saying it would be. I really don’t understand why you are complaining now.
It sounds like you want to put Aion style housing tracts into the game.
That totally reminds me of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhIIPbO_6xg
