I would turn on the language filter in game just for this. Kittens has provided so much amusement on these forums. This idea has my vote.
Other: 1
Elite skills should be captured
New weapons should introduce new weapon skills
New utility skills should be purchased with skill points
Both Guardians and Elementalists could heal quite a bit during the BWE’s. So much so people were starting to make builds based around healing. ArenaNet nerfed healing across the board pretty much after that.
This is why cats have 9 lives. Curiosity, ya know.
I can honestly say I’ve never seen a player doing that teleporting around thing. I know there are skills that let you teleport but they have cd’s. If I hadn’t seen it on the video, I wouldn’t have believed it was possible.
One I had to do a double take on: Jenny Tahlia
People are clever.
Was it really necessary to post that three times?
Probably because there are multiple ways to get exotic gear and the dungeon armor sets are supposed to be the most prestigious skins you can get. They wouldn’t be very prestigious if they just handed them out like cookies after you finish a full run of an explorable dungeon, would they?
FYI the dungeon armor is not any better than the stuff you can get crafted or with karma, it just looks better.
@Rpgtabbycat
I see, although couldn’t the seller just raise the price? well, yeh it does seem like a bug, it shouln’t allow that anyway…off topic
The seller could raise the price but there’s already 300 items listed at 1 copper over vendor. So their item is not going to get sold because people will always buy at the cheapest price.
Sorry for taking this off topic but it is a big problem that Anet needs to look into.
I think its meant to prevent people from slogging thru and getting burnt out.
Plus they want to avoid inflation in the ingame economy.
Restrictions are never a good idea, every MMO that tried it has received a huge backlash and we see the same happening here right now.
Have you looked at the in game economy? It’s completely broken already. Prices are 1c above vendor for all drops.
The ill-conceived cooking patch flooded the market with 2c butter and chocolate. Then they try to recover with an exclusive temporary recipe for the forge alienating most players that did not get that item. Now we are back at 2c butter and chocolate within less than 48 hours.
These people are clueless on how to run a MMO, thats all there is to it.
what do you mean prices are 1c above vendor?
Many items currently posted on the trading post are listed for sale at 1 copper over the vending price. This means that the seller is taking a loss. There is a fee for posting the item on the Trading Post and then another fee for when it is sold. Ideally people should sell things for no less than double the vendor price so you at least make a profit. By selling at 1 copper over vendor, you are making less (about 15% less) than you would have if you sold it to the vendor.
People are assuming that it’s the botters that are putting them up on the trading post but I’m wondering if it might be a flaw in the trading post with the sale value suggestion. I think people just aren’t paying attention and are just clicking to sell.
When I did them with guildies I had a lot of fun. I’ve not tried to do them with a pug so I can’t give an opinion on that.
My cousin is a breast cancer survivor so in support of her (and of course everyone else), I will dye my armor shades of pink for October.
Thank you for sharing this idea.
It’s my opinion that story mode dungeons should be pugable. That is they might be difficult but they should be doable with any group. The explorable dungeons should be difficult and require a regular group of friends or guildies to progress through.
I think as people learn more about the mechanics needed for the encounters in both story mode and explorable, and also when some of the bugs are worked out, we’ll see fewer complaint threads about the difficulty of dungeons.
Maybe you guys should just go ahead and implement a lockout timer to prevent people from even entering a dungeon if x number of paths have been cleared within x amount of time like other MMO’s (WoW for example) have in place.
The other possibility, of course, is to set a weekly cap on how many tokens you can earn (again similar to what WoW does) or how many you can have total.
It might end up being less of a headache in the long run than the diminishing returns system on tokens you currently have going. People might not like it, but it’s been done in the past by other games and people have accepted it.
Edited for clarification.

now I have about 3g 50s after buying a couple of exotic weapons
I’m on Tarnished Coast. During the process of leveling my Ranger to 80 I have seen 1 bot and he wasn’t even in Orr. A Ranger just spamming arrows.
I don’t think the bot problem is as prevalent as people make it out to be or it is only some servers that are affected by them. I have over 200 hours of gameplay logged so you would think after covering over 85% of the map I would have seen more than 1 if they were running rampant everywhere.
You sure that US doesn’t have an official language?
http://www.usconstitution.net/consttop_lang.html
http://www.us-english.org/view/915
They keep trying but it hasn’t happened yet.
I’m honestly thinking there’s a bug with this whole risen grub thing. If the exploit involved the grubs being spawned from the giant, shouldn’t the nerf have just hit those grubs? I was doing a dynamic event in a cave where you had to kill the risen that spawned there. Absolutely no loot dropped off of any of the risen that spawned. All I got was the message that it had been disabled and to try back again later. I completed the event and got the karma/xp/coin reward at the end of it.
To nerf something that’s completely unrelated to the problem at hand is unwarranted and downright annoying. It’s as if ArenaNet has chosen to punish its entire playerbase based on the actions of a few.
Occasionally this happens on the forums. A few days back it was a bug in the bugs section. Now it’s in general forums. One random section of the forums just changes to German all on its own.
Now, I’m almost half German with my ancestry but I can’t speak a word of it. While this bug kind of makes me laugh, I hope it gets fixed soon before I have to load up the google translator to read the forums.
Edited: It’s back to English again. I do want to leave this post up as, like I said, it seems to be a random forum bug.

Unless you are grouping in a dungeon with these people and the language barrier is affecting your ability to complete it, there’s no reason to care whether or not someone is speaking English on an international server.
This is the kind of argument I see in the US all the time. I have to keep reminding those people that the US doesn’t have an official language. As a side note, English is the only language I speak.

I’ll agree that Diminishing Returns has done nothing to stop the botters and has only punished the regular players instead. I don’t think that’s what Anet intended. I’m guessing they are planning on banning them in one fell swoop. But as for when they will do so is anyone’s guess.
I don’t really know what can be done about all those 1c over vendor price items on the trading post. Perhaps you shouldn’t be allowed to post anything on the TP for less than vendor + 15%? Not like you are making a profit either way, but at least you wouldn’t take a loss. The other thing is there doesn’t seem to be any kind of time limit for how long items can sit on the trading post. Most games that I’ve played with a trading post allow you to post your items for a limited duration, and if not sold, you receive the item back while forfeiting your deposit. I wonder if Anet implements this to their own TP if that would help fix the 1c over vendor problems.
Level 80 Sylvari Ranger here still having a whole lot of fun with this game. I enjoy it so much it’s the only one I play. The game isn’t perfect and there are bugs and such that need improving but it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the game.
I would have loved to have been able to farm the materials myself to level up my leatherworking profession. But I couldn’t do it. I ended up having to buy the majority the mats off the Trading Post in order to level it up. And that is doing it by discovery. Is this working as intended? If so, it makes it extremely frustrating to try to level up crafting professions.
I’ve given up on the idea that I’ll be able to craft exotics even though I did spend the karma to get the recipes. I don’t have enough gold to buy everything off the trading post. And I don’t think I can gather all the mats myself without hitting the diminishing returns thing. I’m going to try to get the karma exotic but I’m worried I’ll run into diminishing returns doing events too. I feel rather stuck.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to make him spawn grubs only when he reaches certain percentages in health points than to disable loot drops from the grubs in the first place?
So that explains those weird messages while I’m in Orr. Just got there and was doing an event and kept getting that disabled message. I thought maybe it was a bug. I did find the giant you are talking about. You DO have to kill the grubs he spawns though or they will kill you. I ended up not being able to kill him because there were only a few people around and he knocked us out pretty quick. Do you get anything beyond the normal Karma award for completing the event? It’s rather frustrating to do events if they plan on blocking all the drops off the spawns. : |
I’ve only just started the Orr area so I’m in the 1st of the 3 zones. Personally, so far I love it. I love the danger and always being on your toes. The events I’ve done have been crazy fun. It really does feel like an open world raid. I think once Anet fixes the bugs in the area, a lot more people will enjoy it.
That said, I would like to see them add at least one more level 80 zone. GW1 had all kinds of zones that were off the beaten path and really had nothing to do with the main story lines. I miss that and I really think GW2 could benefit from having a few of these types of zones.
I personally would like to see them implement more titles. Yes, they are a grind to get but that’s what a lot of GW1 players worked for. Especially the titles that had skills attached to them (for example the Lightbringer titles). The higher your title, the stronger the skill.
an example of the combo field: Ranger drops the Healing Spring, Warrior does a whirling attack inside of it and suddenly the Healing Spring becomes an AOE heal.
You can do similar things with Ele’s rings of fire and that mesmer confusion bubble thing. I love shoot arrows through combo fields. Lots of fun.
I don’t know if you could really say the Sylvari worship the Pale Tree. She is their mother in that they were all actually born from her. So they revere her as a mother.
The closest thing they have to religion would be Ventari’s tablet. And the closest thing they have to hell would be Nightmare.
I’d recommend reading: http://guildwars2roleplay.wikispaces.com/A+Comprehensive+Guide+to+All+Things+Sylvari

First of all, I totally lost it at “Poppykitten” but anyway, back on topic.
Your opinion does matter and the Developers do read this kind of feedback. If there are things in the game that aren’t fun for you, then it’s perfectly fine to say hey this wasn’t fun. It’s even fine to say this is how I think it could be better.
Personally, for me, I found the questing to be a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. But I will say that some of the areas are a lot more fun than others. Some of the quests are really fun and some of them are just horrible grinding. For me, the good outweighed the bad.
It is indeed frustrating when dynamic events are bugged. The best thing to do when you come across them is to type /bug and report it. They do work on fixing issues and bugs in the game. As you might have noticed, they are doing a patch tonight to fix some of the bugs and problems in the game. It might address some of your issues.
That said, I hope you don’t give up on the game. And I also hope that you don’t still feel that your opinion doesn’t matter. Because even if not everyone agrees with you, it does matter what you think.

You probably didn’t realize because you haven’t really played the game, that the PvP gear you get when you are auto leveled to 80 to do PvP doesn’t stay with you when you leave the Mists. So if you want to PvE you actually have to level your character and get gear.
I totally use my mouse for moving and I have one of the two side buttons (4 button mouse) set for my dodge. I think I’d die if I had to use my keyboard for movement. I use the keyboard to click skills.
As a side note: I have nerve damage in my left hand so I feel for Ten. I don’t have a problem playing, though.

Awe stop picking on him and Logan. I like both of them.
I agree that one was insane! I barely made it through. I just kept hitting and running. That’s about all you could do or you’d be swarmed over with Destroyers.
No wonder it was so hard! I’m glad you guys are going to be fixing it. =)
I haven’t played the Charr but I wanted to give some feedback on Sylvari.
I am really liking the Sylvari storyline so far. And I love the Sylvari themselves. I’ve also played with the humans and the norn and they just aren’t as interesting as the Sylvari. Even the female idle animations are adorable. Whoever worked on the Sylvari did a wonderful job with them. Thank you.
MoP isn’t without its own flaws. The forums are full of people complaining about the CRZ and pre-launch activities. I’m sure they will do more complaining after the expansion goes live. I have nothing against WoW in general. GW2 has spoiled me and I simply can’t go back to playing that game. I hope that all the people who do leave get their monies worth out of that expansion. When they get bored with it, GW2 will patiently be waiting their return.
Better question, where are all the black sylvari’s at?
They are plants. Black wouldn’t really fit. Brown, like tree bark, would.
Sometimes I feel sorry for the few legitimate Chinese players out there.
A compromise perhaps?
Free travel to Lion’s Arch with a 1 hour CD. Possibility of a guild perk to reduce the CD.
Although others have pointed out you can travel to Lion’s Arch from the Mists but I haven’t tried that myself.
I don’t mind the duels option as long as it comes with an additional option to automatically refuse all duel requests. Which most likely they would do.
I hope they never include an inspect feature. If so, I hope they do like Aion and have an option to automatically reject all inspections.
In game: Helpful and friendly. Great people. Really make the game fun.
On the forums: They like to complain a lot about everything.
I know you can get them through the guild armorer.
Cleverly concealed humor. I was laughing so hard by the time I finished reading your spoiler.
That’s the intention of this game – that you should be able to level up without taking a huge amount of time to do so. There’s no sub fee, so no reason for them to make it take months to get to max level.
That’s odd. I think I’ve seen maybe 3 all this weekend. And I tend to play a lot too. I have to force myself to take breaks from the game. Which usually involves me coming here to the forums. XD
Edited to add: I have funny memories of Stormwind and all the dead level 1 human Warlocks that the gold sellers would use their bodies to spell the URL for the websites. To this day I have no idea how they made them die in those positions. Now that’s gold spamming.

As mentioned before, Elonians are the black humans of the game. I’m sure there are some around Divinity’s Reach. But the majority of them are being tormented by Palawa Joko. I’m hoping that in a future expansion pack, we will get to journey to Elona and free them from the tyrant, just like Turai Ossa. But hopefully with lasting success.
There are some areas where the mobs are just insane (Orr anyone?). In those cases it’s best to group up, or at the very least, run around with others.
level 80 Ranger 9/10 – annoyed with the diminishing returns thing
level 12 Guardian 10/10 Having a lot of fun with it right now
level 14 Elementalist 8/10 So squishy but I’m sure it’s just because I’ve not really learned to play it yet.
I don’t think they could do a race change because that would have too much impact on your personal story. You might as well start a new character.
