i) I would like to know your thoughts on "arcane mastery” for a staff build.
ii) I am not comfortable with underwater combat; I think we are pretty weak at it. Any tip?
iii) Do you have the dps numbers in a solo situation?

Regarding LH, staff or d/f meta builds which one is more forgiving ?
Also is 30/30/0/0/10 (i want vigor at least while learning tge class) good enough to run LH or staff? Sounds like a versatil trait distributio to me.

I spend 50%-50% with my warr and mesmer
My 80s are: war, mes, thief, necro and engi)

and a blast finisher on a 10sec cooldown XD

I was thinking how to make a viable shatter build for dungeons.
I only find a solution and is that shattered strenght should also gives might to party members. Probably might should also need to be increased to 3 stacks ( again).

With current meta on pvp I dont think is op anymore.

For engi, the meta is also pug friendly (30/30/0/10/0). Perma vigor and still useful at range. A

1) I somehow tend to fail to trigger area healing with healing tuurret. Has the water fiel a delay or something. If heal-heal looks like instant wheras if I heal-pause-heal seems to be delayed. Is like this or am I missing something?

2) Regarding metabuilds for PVE. 30/30/0/10/0 grants permavigor but no permaswiftbess. 30/30/0/0/10 grants permaswiftness and people use energy sigil to invrease vigor. .. So, what about dps wise, 30/10/0/0/30.? Damage modifiers are more iffy but you fain toolbelt recharge (more utility) permaswiftness good vigor and mire crit damage

Ive been thinking into leveling an ele. But Im a little concerned regarding survability in pugs. Is that an issue in below avarage dps groups?

Am I missing something? Because you can wear sigil of force on mainhand sword and sigil of battle on offhands… Well, at least is what I do (after stacking bloodlust on main hand sword).

Oh, one more question. I tried fire-camping staff build and some LH builds on the indestructible golem on the mist. I am a little surprised as I need a lot of time in order to “kill” it.
Do eles need to be buffed by other classes in order to shine dps wise?

Conjurer is a must so you can have LH on cooldown. Other than, shouldnt w be picking as much damage modifiers as possible?

Mender purity is not needed imo and traited sword if you are not using as an offhand neither. So in exhange, you gain IC and compounding power. That is more phantasm uptime and more damage for you and your reflects.

Personally I run 0/30/0/25/15 so whatever.

For a traited GS build… I would go 20/10/0/25/15.

Only Warriors match your description.
Regarding knowledge… coming from an engi… every other profession will be easy (except Ele, if we are not talking about PVE).
Mesmer is a good alternative, but they don’t have burst. To know when to pull, when to reflect… needs knowledge I guess.

I am not so sure regarding mesmers. As phantasm dont benefit from damage multipliets only crit damage

Grenade DPS is around 10.5k now with the buff to Modified Ammunition, possibly more if you have a good variety of condition stacking. That’s on top of still being able to maintain 20 stacks of vuln and 12 stacks of might with absolutely zero tradeoff, and being able to push that up even more with fairly minimal tradeoffs
By comparison a DPS guard or warrior is pretty much exactly the same DPS but with about half of the buff/debuff output. And that’s not even counting the loads of area stealth, condition removal, healing, and CC that an engineer can fit onto one bar with no DPS loss. Oh, and the fact that it’s all doable at 1500 range whereas pretty much every other class has to be in melee.

Honestly, the fact that a Rifle/Bomb setup does exactly the same DPS as a grenade/pistol setup but loses out on might and vuln and is stuck at melee range clearly indicates the problem more than anything.

So instead of nerf nades which is at same level than other professions, anet should buff rifle and the rest of the kits. Shouldnt they?

Anyway, I love Bolt lightnings. Also mesmers doesnt swing the gs too much, so theveffects of a legendary are somoehow “wasted”.

I am not pro, I always pug and I can stay at melee with my mesmer much easily than with any other class.
If you end up with a party with warriors, they are going to be at melee, so I strongly suggest go party with them. And if you have to disengage, don’t worry, your phantasm will still be attacking your target, so the dps loss is less than with any other class.
Enjoy your mesmer.

5% dps less than rubi orbs. 9% if you take travelers.
I don’t take into account damage from bleeds nor increased might duration, so should be a little less than 5% and 9%

If you want speed, centaurs are the best option.

I will go 0/30/0/25/15. DPS is very similar with untraited mantras. But you have more flexibility on trits.
