I don’t understand. On the indestructible golem in the mists, a mesmer (30/30/0/0/10) is as fast as a warrior. Which is huge for the ramp up time that we need to set up phantasms.
Also, with the same build and just with 3 swords clons (we got 20 stacks of vulnerability), mesmer are faster than a dagger necro(30/25/0/0/15).
13 secs… How depressing: in mesmer forum we are trying to beat a 30 sec mark

Maybe is easier if you go to the mist and kill n* times the indestructible golem on there.
*I’ve been told that has 80K life points, so you can “kill it” 5 times to have a target with 400K.

But if it really resets illusions summons skills, we may be back on being considered for dungeons speed runs. The only problem is the tradeoff: 4% decrease if you use empowering mantras…
I am also considering in adding shatter on the rotation with this new signet.

Same cool down but gives us swiftness instead of crappy damage, so can be used as a speed up or as a group healing

Since they specifically use the word “recharge” which is present in the phantasmal haste trait, my guess is that if you have, for example, 2 iSwordsmen and 1 iDuelist, then they will attack on heal and behave as if you had just summoned them.

Problem with this comparison is that no one brings a 10/30/0/0/30 Mesmer because of the lack of reflects. I’d like to see where the current 10/30/0/20/10 meta build ranks.
It shouldn not change that much as you only lose cond damage. Probably a 30/30/0/0/10 it would be even better.

They already are, mesmers are complete trash in proper dungeon groups. Never hit thei theoretical dps, guards can reflect an condi cleanse and have more relevant things like aegis, blast finishers and fire fields which a Mesmer can’t really provide. Taking on a Mesmer is more of a formality at this point, you’d be better off with a ranger for a little reflection and the dps boost from spotter and frost spirit which doesn’t have a 210s cd like time warp.
I don’t really understand this. If I recall properly, and according to GK table, a mesmer with 1 phantasm (2 phantasm?) does the same dps than a warrior. So, if all party buffs are covered, why not to take a mesmer? Ok, the dps takes a little to ramp up, so in dungeons with short fights I can understand. But in high level fractals, I cannot.
Nemesis proposed a build very much like this some time ago. Now, with travelers runes available, may be worth a try. You might want to check hisbyoutube channel. I would probably take a mix of your and his build.

Well, I don’t run with GS, but I drop swordsman, duelist, warp, aa and then frenzy when needed.. I take signet of inspiration for a lucky aegis and mantra of concentration for stability after frenzy. But is a bit messy all the thing.

As silly as it may sound, in pugs runs I end up dealing with gate controller with my mesmer.
I try to use nades at mellee range, besides getting the.buffs from party, is more easy to aim properly.
After patch hits, I will put more time on bomb kit. lets see how it goes.
Anet called and said that this works as planned.
Since most of mesmer’s skills are random they thought that fantasms should be too : they sometimes attack and sometimes not.We are chaos! And now we have fantasms that leave the other players dazed, just as if you throw a fake grenade in a room and laugh at seeing people jump around shouting in fear until they understand it was a joke.
This fanstasm is the same : they will never know if it attacks! It will disrupt their flow!

Nope. No problems melee-ing here on zerker armor.
Try to equip sword and warhorn on your ranger with spotter, frost spirit and zerker gear.
But I agree, engi is the best ranged profession. Melee is always better tho.

Actually I PMed Blood weeks ago asking for his claim of engis being able to 14K dps.
So I tested bomb Vs greandes on indestructible golem. I killed faster with nades. I assumed that if you get vulnerabilty from other players then maybe bomb do more damage. That is why I said that I am not convinced. I also recall Knox in the famous 8K aa bomb build saying that nades are better.
Also, and sorry to ask this as should be obvius: will I do more direct dmage with nade kit if I have a berserker weapon than a givers one?
That’s gonna be the meta-build for sure.
I have a question regarding weapons stats. I’m not sure if berserker weapons increase kits damage, I think it doesn’t. So giver’s weapons seem best option. Am I wrong?
If they introduce kits scaling with ascended weapons that is going to be out of question, tho.
Also about sigils… Strenght or battle will increase both direct and condition damage, looks like a better option to me.
And finally, I’m not convinced that bomb kit outdamges grenade kit.

Xyonon, can you elaborate this claim a little more? You are not the first one saying this but I have hard time looking how autoattack clone overwrite my phantasm. Are you stopping the chain or something?
I also have doubts about overall damage. Sure, confusing images is good but…

Now that you mention it… I never tried to shatter having traited empowering mantras. I a 10/30/0/0/30 shatter build with full mantras that should be a 45% damage increase. worth a try
I agree in everything on Chaos post except Shatter. At least in pve the damage should be increased. Shatter should be an alternative to phantasms… And well rhat is not the case.
I can not play til tomorrow, so I will appreciate any commentary on warden behavior.

Blood is not a troll. Actually I think he spend quite amounts of time testing builds.
The thing is that this test on the indestructible golem are quite misleading. ie with 30/30/0/0/10 and three sword clones and sword autoattack (you end up with 20 stakcs of vulnerabilty) you can kill it in 20 secs ( a warrior 30/25/0/0/15 needs 17 secs…
Back on topic, I also prefer the duelist as it a lot easier to keep them alive

I see. Actually I am wondering if it is a good way to test anything. I got crap dps with an ele (Staff fire build) and mesmer (mantra build) autoatacking with sword and 3 sword clons was quite amazing. Brrr.
