I have this issue with necro, engi and mesmer. Necro and engi elit abilities overcome that. In my mesmer, I’m lucky and I made a human. So I use avatar of melandru.
But yeah if you want a long lasting stability with a mesmer… nope.
I have great hopes with CD Projekt.

1) To have to pick certain runes (meaning a dps decrease)in order to have speed out of combat.
2) Scepter #1 chain.
Everything else is fine for me (well I don’t like mantras being your main source of damage modifiers, but I can live with that).
What happened? Have been removed?

Speed out of combat do not affect class balance. Is just important to go to a fun spot to another. So, can we have some love on this, please?
To decrease our “most of the time low dps” to compensate by picking certain runes is not a good solution.
Well there are a lot of dungeon groups that like to “not kitten around” or waste time.
Of course ranger dps can compare with warrior dps if played correctly. Ele dps will outshine warrior and guardian dps by far if played correclty. Ranger can offer unique buffs and ele can provide a lot of fire fields/area might stacking. While necro and engi might not have great dps (which counts in dungeons, I’m sorry to tell you, but that red bar wont disappear by its own), engis can somewhat fill the role of a guard by providing projectile reflection/absorption (really poor though).
The problem is that most ranger/ele/necro/thief players just run terrible builds that are completley unsuited for the needs of those wanting to not waste their time in dungeons. While this also applies for a large portion of warriors and guardians, you still have a higher chance to find one of them fitting your group.TL;DR: Nec and engi suck, other classes can be good, but the guys that play them usually suck aswell.
What about mesmers?
I just read in warriors forum that runes of strength have been fixed. Very good option then

May I ask your traits on domination line?
Personally I’ll still run 10/30/0/20/10 (or 0/30/0/25/15) if I need reflect else I’ll stick with 30/30/0/0/10. Mantra Damage modifier is totally worth it and the Dueling trait line affect both our precision and critical damage so it’s the best trait line we have
Have you tried 25/30/0/0/15? I really like IC and in domination there is not much to trait for.
I also run 0/30/0/25/15, even with no mantra traited the dps is quite similar to 10/20/0/25/15.
What I cannot get used is not having centaur runes (I got full assassin and ranger runes). I miss my swifntness on demand. I am even thinking in getting travelers
As usual too much information or too little. If you are about to do maps on mesmer then start with runes. I recommend traveler. Expensive but worth it. So far i can’t find better rune and it is good for WVW as well. There is few better runes for pure DPS but 25% speed bonus for mesmer is a huge deal
If cost is an issue, grab some Runes of Speed instead.
Actually that is good idea on my knight set. So I can use it in wvw and pve when I have to skip. Ty.
If I recall properly, Scholar Vs orbs is 25% and scholar Vs ranger is 45% . Check Obal’s dps guide in guardian forum.
Also consider centaur runes. I’m pretty newbie* into making numbers but I think you only lose 5% dps in exchange of permaswiftness. Travelers are like 10%.
*As I am learning I don’t take into account condition damage. So actually is less than 5 and 10 %

Assassins is better if you pug. Main reason is that reflects doesnt take into account your power, just crit chance.
Rangers runes are bugged and the damage modifier is always working.
So yes. Assassins and rangers.

a)more personal dps: force/night/unded & strength sigil, scholar runes bersker weapons and explosive powder, and dps food.
b)more group support: accuarcy &strenght sigils, 2 mad king, 2 strength, 2 fire runes, givers weapons and condiition duration food.
Just looking at efective power in gw2builder is a tradeoff of 2000 units.

I agree. In organized groups no comparison. The ramp up is too slow. That is why I had so many hopes with the new healing signet. But meh, cast time is too long.
Also take into account that p/s allows you to use two sigils, rifle just one. Are they going to change that someday? Please?
How much? Now really – I wanna know! It’s definitly lower than a engineer and even less compared to the necro. Beside that – they both also are stronger zerkers, engi even with bombs. Necro is pretty ok, he deals damage, heals a bit, nothing to complain about. Engi in my option is underrated by far, the damage is awesome in general, pretty ok in single target, nr1 in aoe. And passive damage – yes yes yes
Yes! I really like engis too. Actually I cannot decide which toon to main, if my mesmer or my engi.
Just for curiosity: which build do you use on your engi? (I run with typical 30/30/0/10/0 giver weapons, koi cakes, 4 might duration runes, 2 condition duration runes, full zerker).
Amazing will come back everytime I want to reroll to mesmer because “they deal more dmg”
As mesmers cannot buff themselves, yes, in group settings they deal more dmg.
Rangers would be an amazing class for dungeons if anet put some time fixing sword aa chain. But is working as intended so…
I also think that time should start counting when first skill is clicked and not in the.first hit. Yoy can stack might but not stack phantasms before the first hit

I’ve seen quite a few people advocating the 30/30/0/0/10 build for max dps but I question this because for dungeons I would guess the average conditions you could expect to keep up would be around 5 meaning that would increase your damage by about 10% damage but that would be canceled out by tools 25 pt trait enduring damage, meaning that it would come down to the difference between target the maimed (5% extra damage)+ ~10% crit chance from traits+ the extra condition damage versus, 20% more crit damage+ 20% faster recharge on toolbelt skills (20% more static discharge/grenade barrage/BoB)+ while also having a permanent 1/2 vigor. I also think you could use scope to kind of balance out against target the weak. I’m just not sure that 30/30/0/0/10 is a higher damage build then 30/10/0/0/30 until I run the numbers.
Not counting condition damage: 30/30/0/0/10 provides a little more dps than 30/10/0/0/30 or 30/30/0/10/0 (which are equal).
The problem with 30/10/0/0/30 is that you assume.scope and enduring damage.working all time. For a melee group, scope is bad. Enduring damage wont be always active.
Then add cond damage which would ve higher in 30/30 builds…
That being said I also think that 30/10/0/0/30 with adrenal implant is a very good option if you do open world and dungeons and dont want to change traits.

Second one is my actual setup; but I go with giver’s weapons and koi cakes, 4 might increasing runes and 2 condition increasing runes (mad king instead of hoelbrak). So I got 100% condition duration and 50% might duration.
To my surprise it took about 40 seconds to kill the veteran giant with it and (roughly) the same time with a non buffing, ruby-orb-instead-of-boon-extension-runes.
The increase in raw damage from the orbs (power, crit chance and crit damage) seems to simply make things a wash.
Well, that’s true but I think the proper comparation is not between your dps. We should compare how much are you increasing the party dps Vs your personal dps lost.
That being said, going with max damage gear your dps can only increase if any other player is giving you boons.
Blood, what do you recommend? to go full zerker getting as much as possible damage modifiers or to increase boon and condition duration?
EDIT: talking of weapon, sigils, runes and food.

Nope. when I farm 60g I craft level a new toon. :-)
But with so much ascended stuff this days I should start picking I main. A hard thing to do in my case.

I did it. Is not so clear, at least to me, if the former crit damage from tools is wirse than.the damage modifiers that we.get now in firearms
I need to try it again when I’ll have time since I didn’t use the daze mantra (for more vuln) and I don’t really need feedback since I can interrupt it when it’s launching the grubs (so i’ll take a 4th mantra for a 4% more dmg boost)
Also I’ll do another try with the boost I get with a group setup (banners, 25 stack of might, fury, 25 stack of vuln on target, spotter, frost spirit)

My only issue with 30/30/0/0/10 and.full mantras I feel like a snail. I also think that we sacrifice to much dps if we take travelers or centaur runes. To finsh my venting, it is not fair that we are force to go mantras in order to get damage modifirts

I am dissapointed with the new signet. I just had time to do a fast test (30-30-0-0-10) on the indestructible golem on the mists. The signet activation time is soo long that I actually got a poorer time compared to full mantras

Also try to use sword#2 on cooldown. Is a small tiny increase respect AA but an increase nevertheless. Nice video.

I just leveled a warrior:
10 in discipline for warrior sprint (fast travelimg around the map)
10 in arms for deep strike (go full signets)
5 in discipline for fasthands (so you can use bow to might stacking)
10 in arms for forceful GS (you will get impress with the amount of might stacks.
Put points in strenght til you can respect at level 60 for 0/25/0/0/15. Then fill up strenght.
I would like MH focus. Dual anomalies would be awsome.
I still hate how HIGH HP, HEAVY ARMOR deals more dps than light low-mid HP….
That’s just because warriors are the main dps buffers, hence they buff themselves. A guardian needs warriors buffs in order to achive high dps.
Mesmer dps is misleading. In giant test the time is bad as mesmer cannot buff himself and needs time to ramp up 3 phantasms. In group settings (full buffed ) @)and just onephantasm up mesmer dps= warrior dps.
