You know this is a troll thread right?
This game should never have had any levels. It’s a crude, artificial and stupid way of handling character progression that should have died with Gary Gygax.
I find it hard to believe that the SAME gold selling website has been spammed to me for years and this hasn’t made it to chat filter!
Well the game engine isn’t going to change. But certainly the UI is poor, the particle (weapon) effects need serious toning down (slider option) and things like 3d support (rift/sbs options etc) are going to be needed very soon with kit arriving this year.
I don’t really agree with solo, or two, but there needs to be more flexibility than the 5 man only. If I have 4 friends on we are one short, if I have 5 on we have to leave one out. That is a lot of inflexibility by design. There is scaling in the game, why not allow party size to affect that scaling. Add the odd tweak to some dungeon mechanics to cater for different sized parties and that makes a massive difference to the playability of the game for normal players. If you are worried about farming exploits then just adjust the rewards based on party size too, though the normal loot scaling built into dungeons should suffice.
Same old story, the gem store is way overpriced as soon as you figure out how much cash it is. I would spend a lot more in the store if I felt there was value for money, but as most things are such a rip off I keep my money in my wallet.
Some people choose to pay it which is why they charge that price.
This is nothing to do with beta testing, this has everything to do with marketing hype.
A lot of people have been struggling with fps lately, something got messed up, systems that used to run 70-100 fps now only do 20-40.
Focus on mouseover is spectacularly idiotic, nobody would every want this. so ANet only knows why this stupid feature got implemented; and why they haven’t removed it yet. It has been complained about before.
It’s a little down marker to tell you it’s on a lower level than you, you also get little up arrow too. These appear next to all map features if they are on a different elevation level to you.
Bad game design.
That setting does nothing of any use. This is a much asked for option but ANet prefer you not to see what the heck is happening in a large fight.
It’s no better on an nVidia, the box is greyed out unless you have a full 3D monitor setup too.
I too tried google cardboard and (due to poor 3D support in GW2) used tridef and kinked my phone with KinoConsole. There are two downsides, one is the price of tridef, the other is how poor Google Cardboard is, the 25mm lens and too small inter-pupil distance gives you bad eye strain as you peer though a small hole to see only half of the screen.
What works a heck of a lot better is to spend a (little) bit more on one of the plastic google cardboard like gadgets with adjustable inter-pupil and 34mm lens. I have a colorcross and it is massively better. So the only downside is that GW2 doesn’t give you a SBS setting.
We are at the dawn of VR in games, GW2 is well set to early adopt this but needs a little bit more from the devs. I too hope they do a little more to support this, I suspect they just didn’t consider this use case when they added the limited 3D support, hopefully it is cheap to add native so we don’t need tridef.
It’s particularly good if you turn the interface off (Ctrl-Shift-H), I recommend that for standard monitor play from time to time if you just want to wander around chillin.
Press F11 for options
Select the second tab down for Graphic Options
Select “Windowed Fullscreen” for your resolution (first dropdown)
Only just discovered this thread, I’ve been wondering for some time why my fps went from 70-100 down to 20-30 (and <10 on Teq unless I turn model limit to low)
Another bit of bad game design, what was wrong with the GW1 system?
Kicking for watching in story mode should be reportable
It is for ANet to fix another bad design decision
Two years ago ANet got told that they had the worst ending ever, still not fixed so don’t hold your breath for HoT. Best we can hope for is we don’t get the same lazy lame garbage again.
Well, chest farm is a pants gold farm anyway, and don’t forget you still need to get the keys so I don’t think it will break anything. If they made one I certainly wouldn’t waste 1000 gems on one.
There is nothing wrong with Dell, the game or what you are trying to do. You simply have a hardware fault, probably in motherboard or PSU that is frying your cards. It’s unlikely to be heat over so many cards but if you are concerned just download HWMonitor and check, it’s more likely to be voltage that’s wrong to your card.
It’s not just players that play with the market. ANet does too, the silk requirement was to fix a problem with the market that has long since gone, now the fix needs to be fixed.
It’s hardly a boatload!
Maize Balm costs 11.60s
7 ToTs gives you 24s after TP fees.
Do it with a friend to half the outlay
It might not be about ping, it may be about packet loss. try running some net diagnostic tools to see if your connection is reliable. Faulty hardware, poor line quality and poor ISP can all cause packet drop and many of those things are under your control.
I would spend a lot more in the Gem store if it wasn’t such spectacularly bad value. I have money to spend, the problem is ANet isn’t selling much of any value.
Nice that they fixed that bug but sadly the guild chat is not fixed for some (many?) people.
Guild chat still broken after fix
work around is no good unless everyone in the guild knows it and does it
Sorry, what is the problem we’re trying to solve here? So many afk that events scale too hard? No, that’s just BS. People got to pee, answer the phone, attend to kids. Perhaps if more of you had a life and didn’t farm a sad repetitive, and rather unrewarding map we wouldn’t have silly moan threads like this.
Perhaps you would prefer a single player game?
AFK in competitive formats is a bane, but in open world? Really? No
Thanks for being so quick to fix a low impact bug that amuses and delights the players.
Any chance that some of the more serious bugs that really annoy players and hurt the game could be looked into any time soon?
I too have a bank tab full of boosters that I can never be bothered to use, so the thought of buying any of that junk with cash is somewhat perplexing.
But even if there were some that may be of use to some people under some circumstances the value for money is so spectacularly bad I can’t imagine they would sell any.
ditto, I’d like to think that MF is MF, not good to start splitting to different kinds of MF
It’s all a bit terribad
No programming language uses that because the symbol of an equals with a line through it is not obtainable on a keyboard. Programming languages use != or <>
I would be surprised if it’s parked cores. I know Win 7 had a tendency to over-park cores but this rarely happens when there is any real stress on the system. There may be other things in place here. download CPU-Z, it will tell you what your system is really doing, what clockspeed and multiplier you have and also what speed your PCIe bus is running (Should be X16). Report back this data and hopefully it will show the cause of the problem. HWMonitor is also another good program to run to tell you what is going on.

So in a game where sooner or later everyone will be level 80 there is no point in XP at all?
Would it be a problem if you couldn’t kick at the end of a dungeon, that’s when the trolling starts and people want to sell spaces for gold. One downside would be for an afk player or someone trolling by not participating so only 4 players active, how often is that at the end of a dungeon?
How about if the toggles only affected your own screen and not everyone else.
A rare clear policy statement
+1, hope for more
I still have a problem with waypoint costs, what was the logic behind that? Lets disuade people from using a feature we put into the game to remove grind and discourage players from getting together when events are taking place.
Waypoint costs are the only fee for damaged armour now
So my question is, why is there a fee, and such a crazy high one too?
WvW aside, for everyone else it’s just about playing with friends, and isn’t that kind of the whole point of the game?
So this seems to work okay when you MF level is low but this is a really expensive way of getting your luck up there. Just to check I tried it and it cost me 3 gold to get 1/4 of a MF% at 224%
It’s fast but it’s very expensive and that was with quite favourable dust prices. I would only recommend this if you are planning to sell some ectos. It’s the TP listing price that kills this as a cheap method.
Why? Because HDMI is sound and video. Its easier. But video only give much higher bandwidth and full range rgb.
Tweaking the colors/gamma is a workaround, not a fix. And it can only help the rgb range. You cannot fix the bandwidth. No regfix will make 4K/144hz possible with HDMI, for example.
What are you smoking? On minute we are saying " it cant handle 60hz+ at higher resolution" now you are talking 4K/144hz, nobody is doing that, nobody has a graphics card that can handle that and nobody has a monitor that can handle that. Climb back to the real world and your statement “Using HDMI for gaming is… pointless” is just stupid beyond compare.
“Yes, colors are borked and not even close to the bandwidth of dp/DVI "
Oh really?
DVI single is essentially electronically identical to HDMI Type-A connection, typically hitting 1920×1200 and dual DVI equivalent to HDMI Type-B hitting 3840×2160 though often not at great refresh rates (30hz on HDMI, you milage will vary with hardware on dual DVI). And that is for HDMI 1.4, we now have HDMI 2.0 available capable of pushing 4k at 60hz. Display ports will typically hit 3840×2160@60hz.
I can’t even take your comment about audio seriously if you think audio bandwidth even registers on the same scale let alone uses the same flipping wires! Maybe it’s because DVI uses a bigger plug?
There is no reason why you shouldn’t use HDMI for gaming, ultimately it is going to depend on what specific hardware you have available to you and not on some armchair theoretical number crunching.
It’s not sa if we can see anything anyway with all the stupid skill effects blinding us that ANet won’t let us turn down.
Read any number of the other threads on this that are littering up these boards despite official stickies about this all over the place.
Sorry to say but that is the way of the story line from then on. (b)Orr was awful beyond compare. I ground that out on two characters but now all my other characters are permanently (and this will never change) at claw island. On another note it isn’t even your personal story, it’s treherns )or whatever the muppet twig is called). You are just a bit player in a tedious npcs story.
And here is the real spoiler.
the last “mission” in your personal story is actually a lazy 5-player dungeon story instance where your victory is just a tedious cut-scene
Nope, but on the plus side, just keep them, if you are needing one it is only a matter of time before you decide you need another
Soem laptops have a high performance graphics card and an integrated one. You may be switching back to the integrated one. Look for a graphics option on a right-click menu on the game icon to set to high performance always.
Cartography as a crafting skill, you can make zone based account bound maps for any zone that you have 100% on then consume with a new character. Some parchment, inks, dyes etc. should be easy to have a bunch of recipes. There aren’t actually that many zones.
Using HDMI for gaming is… pointless. Yes, colors are borked and not even close to the bandwidth of dp/DVI so it cant handle 60hz+ at higher resolutions.
Interesting that a reg fix can suddenly increase the bandwidth and restore those colours then.
Also makes me wonder why blueray HD TVs don’t use DVI instead of this crappy hdmi standard that borks colours.
So this isn’t a discussion thread, it’s just a thread for people who agree with OP?
I wouldn’t pay and I will discuss this because such an arrangement will change the nature of the game I play, much to my detriment.
No, this is exactly how I thought the conversation would progress. Those seeking to dictate other people’s play chime in to hijack a discussion.
Oh the hypocrisy!!!!!

The reason these scams exists is that the trading post takes a percentage of the sale. When the item is valuable that is a stupid amount. Many people who find a pre can’t afford to sell it! How stupid is that?
So, all it needs to fix is for Anet to cap the listing fees so genuine people won’t be forced into taking risks with email trade.
