What exactly was unclassy about that? It’s a well known fact that JQ has been double teaming against one or the other by taking advantage of the BG/SoR rivalry.
I actually feel sorry for BG. They’ve a really nice bunch of well organised and nice folks on TeamSpeak who run very organised small groups in most BL’s and EB but the problem is that the population drop off in WvW on the server is terrible.
There are times that their smaller groups come together from all BL’s and EB to concentrate as one but even then their numbers are small these days.
Very nice bunch of people but I had no choice but to move server, the number of players in WvW there is continually dropping off and my main fun in the game comes from WvW, however repetitive it may be at times – it’s something that can’t be got in any other MMO.
Personally feel it would be very advantageous for the organised WvW players on BG to transfer over to SoR at this stage, there’s plenty here that would welcome them with open arms, expand their guilds and help their guilds build up again and we would love to have their players here.
There is no drama, there is plenty of un-politically correct messing around on TS and we even get people to do a bit of karaoke every now and again !
The “huge zergs” on SoR are usually guild run semi private events, tagless and utterly organised but there are plenty of very good commanders running tagged up to organise the masses of the rest of the players.
Come transfer over to the dark side BG !

I assume 4, it’s going to be the same except you’re going to have server a,b,c,d,e,f in the same league where the first week will be a vs c vs e and b vs d vs f then the week after you will have a vs b vs e and c vs d vs f then a vs d vs f and c vs b vs e etc

15v15 gvg and bay gets hit by JQ. SoR sends entire map zerg to wipe gvg instead of just dealing with bay. That is their justification for ruing a GvG. 10% isn’t significant when given context We’re talking about exotic -> ascended on weapons. This isn’t a 10% on your total stats, just 1 piece of gear.
Let’s do some math shall we? From exotic armor, and ascended trinkets, players gain a total of roughly 1957 stats without runes, orbs, etc. Assuming ascended weapons have a 10% increase in stats, 435 stats from say an exotic greatsword would be 478.5 Now let’s get a total.
What comes about is a 1.8% increase in stats before adding upgrade components. Keep in mind, this is not a 1.8% increase in health, or damage. Translating a 1.8% increase in Vitality will add a miniscule amount of health, and will 99% of the time not make the difference in a battle. Now, stop QQ’ing and let Anet do their thing

From gw2 wiki: Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
Now there is a 12.8% increase in weapon damage from rare to exotic. I’m going to guess there is going to be a similar increase for exotic to ascended. This will result in a direct increase of damage for ascended weapons.
Trinkets were a whole different story, x% increase in stats for trinkets resulted in an increase of damage of much less than x%, because of power from armor, weapon, etc.

According to IRON’s definition of a ‘wipe’, it isn’t possible for any zerg to wipe, unless they were a small group of 10-15 which got taken by surprise.
Lol! JQ is like the most bipolar server. One minute they’re double-teaming SoR with BG, next minute they’re double-teaming BG with SoR.
That’s not the problem with JQ. The problem is that BG is a bit “weird” when it comes to tactics.
Example 1
SoR tries to take an upgraded JQ bay. BG has at least two good options.
- take an unguarded upgraded SoR hills
- take an unguarded upgraded JQ spawn tower.
BG runs to JQ bay to watch the fight or get wiped there or get some bags or whatever.
Example 2
JQ attacks SoR garrison, SoR comes to defend.
BG attacks JQ spawn tower and camp instead taking their bay back or.. getting NW tower.
Sure, you can play it that way, but it makes absolutely no sense. And many of the situations when JQ decides to go for BG are because BG just did something stupid before, like taking JQ spawn camp with their whole zerg, while JQ is pushing SoR garrison or such things.
I don’t know how many times a night I hear, “Well BG just did something stupid. What do you want to do now?” Everyone in unison – “Kill BG make them pay.” I’ve stated this before, but apparently no one reads my comments. Actually, I am OK with this.
I have said the same about JQ. I took your Borderland the last time i lead and pushed JQ out. I took all your crap except for the north.
So when Iron rushed your Garrison i had 2 choises. Dig in and hold or go north and take your towers knowing full well that Iron most likely would float to some where else soon. Giving me a clear shot at taking a now paper Garrison.
Instead i went with option “There is a fight over there let’s go join it because that could be fun” and we had fun. Not the smart thing to do, but instead i had a TS channel full of people laughing and joking around about how stupid the fight was getting.
The thing is JQ dose stupid crap all the time that is not in there best interests and during EU they have SoR to guard them because JQ is not that important of a target in comparison. You get a free pass because of your place in the fight.
Several times i would have love to have crushed JQ and there puny force that provoked me by hitting my towers, but i have to deal with the far larger and far more dangerous SoR.
It’s amazing how JQ begins chest thumping as soon as they are back in the game. When JQ was practically ‘dead’, SoR and BG just ignored them, so I guess they are craving attention.
I wish ascended weapons could not be used in WvW. In fact, any type of armor/weapon not purchasable in wvw, should be scaled down/excluded from WvW.
Or is this to make up for PVE’rs lack of skill(not to say PVE’rs lack skill but if they spend all their time farming orr I just find it hard to believe how they could be).
I’ll also point out here that I am not involved in this system, outside of making sure the interests of WvW are appropriately represented as it is designed and implemented. If you have suggestions for different ways to handle this, you should find a more appropriate forum.

Well you have not played as long as others, so you don’t get to complain. Many people need to take some rest and replenish funds.
Except when I was active, I practically lived in WvW for months on end just like many, many others on the server. Of course back then, mindlessly farming champs for massive amounts of gold wasn’t a thing. We had great coverage for every time zone. Now it’s a ghost town half the time. Replenishing funds? For 3+ weeks now? I think that’s part of it but also a plethora of other factors like other games and burn-out with GW2 in general.
Don’t blame the server, blame the crazy PVE events which can yield tens of gold every hour. That, along with all the orr exploiters have pushed the prices of everything up. And mostly, people are stacking up on materials for ascended weapons. Expect it to be like this for at least 2 more weeks.
I really dont get his argument, BG won just last week. BG has good coverage still.
The mats will absolutely drop in WvW. In addition, generally speaking, we are putting a heavier emphasis on finding long-term solutions to redressing the reward imbalance between PvE and WvW. I can’t claim they will ever be 100% equal all the time, but we would like it to never be the case that you are choosing between playing WvW and getting good rewards. The two should be one in the same.
Upgrade the rank chests to include one guaranteed rare like world boss chests, and hook us up with dungeon tokens from rank/champion chests and random drops so we can get our cool-looking armor and legendaries without grinding PvE content. Or at least let us buy tokens with badges of honor if that’s easier to implement. That’d be a good start.
Then add some more cool finishers to the gem store so we have something to throw money at.
The one thing you do have to remember about legendary items is that they require map completion. Map completion requires a trip to WvW. And if you don’t have the capability to travel in a group to the vistas and PoIs, you’re either going to have to get out there on your own and risk PvP or wait until your server has everything…which could be a long time.
The weight of legendaries is heavily PvE, yes, but they are by no means able to be obtained exclusively in PvE. Therefore, you cannot expect legendaries to be obtainable by playing exclusively in WvW.
And if you’re going to talk about buying them from the trade post, well you make gold in WvW too; so that’s a moot point.
I call complete bullkitten. You can actually make a legendary only in PVE. Farm/exploit orr for the mats, farm LS for achievements and get your badges. Did I miss any thing? We have to actually be thankful that PVE’rs don’t need to go to the JP and take up our spots in the que. Now for the gold drop. Players, which put up a kitten good fight and more than 2-3 minutes to solo at times, drop badges, blue and grey items. Rarely any thing better. In orr, mobs drop exotic chests in ember exploit/farm. In FGS, run in a circle around the map in the most disorganised MF gear running zerg and burn down bosses in 10 seconds each. It’s an established fact that PVE earns you more than 30x more gold than WvW.
How much time does it take to complete a map in WvW? PVE noobs were actually complaing about fighting people in the JP, so Anet just hands you another stack of badges in achievement chests on a silver platter. You guys are the most mollycoddled group of players I have ever come accross. It’s the first time all the “Ohmygosh I got attacked in a PVP zone for JP’ing” QQ threads paid off.

This game is not marketed as “WvW only”. Try out some of the other stuff. You might enjoy it. I don’t play for content only. I play to play with my friends. Make more friends and they can make any thing enjoyable.
I have tried pve. don’t enjoy it. I have PVE friends but I still don’t enjoy it. That is not to say that I never PVE, but I do it very rarely. I don’t want to be force to do it, that’s all.
I have a simple question, will we ever be able to buy ascended weapons with badges? Or craft the weapons with badges? Farming is too boring for me.
I don’t mind the ugliest of skins, just let it have ascended stats and are easily obtainable. I have 5 characters and I’m planning on all 8, 1 for each profession. I don’t mind if my GS looks like a kittening stick or a magic wand, I just need it to be ascended.
BG has taken 1st place in T1 7 times in the past 10 weeks, including a streak of 5 in a row. I think it’s natural for a group of players to scale back from the effort required to achieve that and take part in other elements of the game, or possibly even play other games. We saw it with JQ, and we might be seeing it with BG now. Also, I personally think the culture of BG enjoys the road to winning more than winning itself. That’s just a theory of mine though and I could be wrong.
The bottom line is, winning for too long will take its toll on participation, and will often be followed by a lull period in interest and activity. The best course of action (in my opinion) is to stick it out and ride the wave from peak to trough then back to the peak again. If more players did this and had some patience I think we’d have a lot more happy gamers.
I appreciate this post; I’m just incredibly disappointed that people don’t want to WvW right now. I just came back to the game the week after our win streak stopped and all of a sudden, Beastgate is now B***chgate and for what? PvE? It’s an incredibly boring and mindless zergfest right now. I can’t imagine any true PvP’er would want to bother with it regardless of how many times we’ve beaten JQ and SoR; I’d rather be killing them than some scripted event crap. But I’ll take your advice and ride the wave out to see where it goes. It’s certainly cheaper than transferring out of sheer impulsiveness.

We’ve seen players discussing the topic of crafting legendary precursor weapons and claiming that we’ve made changes to make this more difficult. We’d like to be clear that we did not make any across the board changes to reduce the drop rate, nor was it our intention to significantly increase the difficulty in acquiring these precursor weapons.
We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been. These recipes were mostly using Rares in the level 70-75 range and mostly affected the precursors for the greatswords and the dagger. This has had some effect on the drop rate when using lower level rares to attempt to get a precursor but it was never intended for that to be the best way of acquiring these weapons. The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all.
We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make any adjustments we feel are necessary.

I play both Ele and Guardian. Can’t speak for Warrior really.
Staff ele has the tagging ability but is fragile and boring to play if you like to get into the action.
Guardian is tanky, has good survivability in a zerg and lots of tagging ability. It usually gets first crack at the enemies, spearheading the attack.
Both ele and guardian are poor solo classes, expect to die a lot trying to join the main zerg.
Can’t say anything for guardian, but imo ele is really good in 1v1. But you need to switch to d/d. Staff is pretty bad for solo roaming.
I am nearing the point at which I only need a precursor to craft the twilight. It currently costs 740g. Is it a good idea to gamble? I was initially thinking of just buying it off the TP, but 740g seems a bit too much
