Several types of pets with different purposes. List time.

Birds: Your glass cannon of pets. Birds have the undisputed HIGHEST damage per second ratio. Yes, HIGHEST. I have tested extensively and if you use skills correctly and actively birds are top of the line. However, they are squishy and die to stiff breezes. To top this off, birds currently have an “I have been summoned” animation that needs to go. I don’t care that my bird is excited and needs to do victory loops in the air, I need it to go attack my target. Only birds have this problem.

Bears And Arcodotus(er whatever it is): Your utility tanks. Do no damage, take tons of damage, somehow gather aggro. Usually have utility (clear a condi, weaken a crowd, etc). Not much else to say.

Boars: Main purpose is to be Search Tanks. Same thing as bears, but instead of utility they will find random objects that may or may not help you in any conceivable manner. However, finding Stick has to be the most gratifying feeling.

Devourer: Ranged condi applicants. In need of buffs. They are supposed to be half tank, half condi- the Dire attribute chart among pets. Problem is, they fill neither role. They do not aggro very heavily, they do not apply conditions in an effective manner, and they do not provide any sourt of peel.

Drakes: Your Crowd Control tanks. Skills range from confusion to burning, often have tail sweep (a knockdown or stun, not sure which). They are high stat, high damage, high tank…just cumbersome. They fit their theme, but the pvp meta has sped up and they see little to no gameplay in this area. Speed up drakes, you will see them played far more often. Taunt was a good way to do so WITHOUT running over toes. This directly buffs fire drakes.

Hounds: Second place dps, often provide utility. Might, Stealth, Weakness, Clones. All of them have a knockdown. If you need crowd control with a high dps output, grab these. Hyena, Wolf, and Drakehound do well. Hyena needs buffs, but because of the double knockdown possibility they are unlikely to receive any. Fern Hound is fantastic imo, but it needs a better regeneration number.

Moa: They…uh…Utility. Nothing else to say. Protection to daze to weakness, they channel some kind of ability to some moderate effect. Radius is far too low and whenever they go off seem to be telling everyone “BACK THE F@#$ OFF” which is counter productive as their effects are often too weak. Needs buffs. Fun to use, hardly effective.

Spiders: Sneaky bug fixes are sneaky. Pre specialization patch, these spiders did NOT apply their venoms 100% of the time. Now, they are perfect. They are squishy high condition application units from far away. IF you are playing condi, you want THIS or Drake. Always, no exceptions. Devourer is too weak, and with Taunt Drakes do fantastic jobs. I apply Spiders when I want a bit more hidability in my pet and Drake when I want people to know that they done F@#$ed up.

Those are my takes, all in all I stated what needed to be done. I don’t think I missed any pet category, and if I did it clearly needs buffs. I playtested every one of these while I was remaking builds ranging from speed nuke, to high burst, to condi destruction, and then ending in the tankiest thing on the known Tyrian universe. Yes, I outtanked a 1v3 (I did not win, but I did not DIE). It was rather dumb. Grain of salt with my post, but nothing I said was wrong. Pets are not garbage, our dps is not garbage, we are the Utility class. We bring things others do not. Mesmers and Rangers do so differently. Rangers are more durable utility and mesmers are more burst. Guess who wins an evenly matched fight despite Mesmer buff? Rangers. I have not lost a 1v1 on any Mesmer duels thus far. Especially against power or stun Mesmers.

However, if you are running to a point with the ele already on it you just can drop EVERYTHING and they will horribly.
But, if you do not feel comfortable and would like a means of getting the jump when jumped (ele comes to your point) grab Elixir S. Grants stealth, immunity, works with traits in alchemy.

Shortbow Camping: Well…it works, just grab quickness then pick air for single target or fire for multi-target bursting. Imo, it feels like a teamfight version of pistol pistol.

Disclaimer: These are my builds. These are not pro builds. These are not guaranteed to give you free wins or easy duels. These builds are ones that I have used, have found fun, have found effective, and will continue to use. My signature however stays. I can do this all so much easier on Ranger =( and thats the sad bit. That does not mean that these will not work, just that against anyone who is paying attention and brought counters to power builds will probably win because thats just the current state of Thief. Will we be able to unlock this in game? Or will EVERYTHING be gated behind kitten price tag?

Basically: Will it hit the gem store in any manner (even if is overpriced pieces)?

The new specializations bring lots more to the table than the basic vanillas. That’s why I’m asking in worry. And Revenant looks like (shiro anyway) a super buffed thief.

What do I pay to win with it? I heard WvW traits and saw 2 stronghold heroes. Will Revenant be here? Will class specializations be here? Will I be unable to grind in gold to gems for the store to get content from Heart of thorns? Basically, what am I buying on HoT AND will I be able to buy pieces (or all of it) with the in game store? Deluxe version was (is?) in the store, so I don’t doubt the possibility.

What: Pistol 3
Suggestion: Speed up unload, like longbow 2 on rangers, to make it feel like you are rapidly firing. Reduce initiative cost by 1.
Why: Pistols need it AND how the heck do we lose a power fight? Aren’t Thieves supposed to be the uncontested victors of 1 on 1 no utility power fights?

What: Dagger auto combo
Suggestion: Speed it up or boost damage.
Why: Same as pistols.

What:Sword 3 combo
Suggestion: Unblockable/evade. Boon steal is blockable.
Why: Its backwards. If not reversing which one is blockable and which one isn’t, at least swap the initiative costs.

What: Revealed Training
Suggestion: Reduce revealed duration by 1 second. 200 power is nothing. It has uses in the combo (CnD→Steal→Backstab→HSHSHSHSHSHSHS) but thats it.
Why: Read above.

What: Thief base power/precision/ferocity
Suggestion: Raise them.
Why: Read pistol/dagger entry.

It feels more enjoyable and its condi. You can’t really maintain high bleed power with attack speed that slow. =P I’m joshing, I just enjoy playing it power. And that increase would make me having to trait 3 quicknesses unnecessary.

Finished build for any Ranger looking for a different, but very enjoyable build. ^.^ Takes a bit of getting used to using, but it is so worthwhile. Most fun I’ve had in this game in such a long time.

Maybe, but then you are labelling 30 players thus far as “not any decent”. To what you put out, what would you swap them with? Do I need to explain my traits a bit to see if we could make this work better? I truly want this to work, I love power on sword (Predator’s Onslaught is at number 2. It counts cripple) and I love the machine gun on shortbow. And as stated, when you dps test them together without traits shortbow comes ahead of longbow after an extended trade and same on sword to gs. The other reason I like them is your less reliant on hitting big skills (longbow 1 and gs 1 (autos should be fast, right?) take ages) and just the mechanic version of how they work.

Steady Focus applies its damage very often. The idea is to be an outlier in a teamfight, and people ignore shortbow rangers (very oddly, but mentality is shortbow=weak?). It works well enough. And when you get someone trying to assassinate you, pressing the turn and burn combo is enough. You don’t have to dodge half the time.
Predator’s Onslaught counts cripple right now, so the buff is always up while in sword/axe.
Instinctive Reaction offers quickness. That’s enough. That’s far more than enough. I brought the point up, you need consistent damage not burst because your CD is your burst.
WN is gone.
The heal is aoe, not singular. Teamfight based, not dueling. This build still works deceptively well in duels, but you want TEAM fights. And aoe hp is better than singular weak/prot which can be removed pretty easiler in this meta.
Took your advice and got Timbre.
Condi removal isn’t a problem since most people don’t know I exist until I come in and kill them. Deceptive damage is not a lack, its actually a lot.
Scholar turned to ogre.
I run air and rage.

Anything I can improve on? Anywhere I can clarify so we can fix this? I really do appreciate you helping ^.^

Honed axes rework

Agreed, but the whole purpose behind skill 4 is control. Maybe both of our ideas? Or would that be too much? Skill 4 into 5 recently worked in a 1v1 duel (people tell me Sword/Axe Shortbow is bad when you build zerker…pfft) that also made me win because 6k damage. So, skill 4 sets the hit and then you either transition into gs for a big hitter or skill 5 on axe for big hitter… Just trying to find a way to make this skill chain better WITHOUT making it broken.

To better address the 4 balance bit: Neither of ours would work alone (hence skillshots right). Mine would leash quicker, and would feel more rewarding because its a tad harder (imo). Yours would rely on them not having a stun breaker AND the axe basically acting like scorpion wire where it pushes out until it hits the target and then drags them in. The problem is stated: It would end up being a stronger scorpion wire. So again, combined? I mean, even just adding 25% speed to the out throw would be a massive buff as a stand alone. Not even counting anything in the trait. But to compensate, the pre-cast on skill 5 would have to be 25% shorter (as they are, you barely get skill 5 in time after you cast skill 4).

Just rambling, sorry if that didn’t make sense- tends to happen when I start trying to figure things out. I’m really bad at explaining my thoughts because they are just so jumbled XD

Yes. At least to dps thief. I haven’t tried a serious build against a condi thief, but I’d only have to swap a single trait to be able to pull what I did. Might lower my dps…5%? Possibly 10?

Just read my sig. I used to love being able to assassinate people, now its “are you running d/p power or p/d condi/sustain? No, ok gg. Goodbye, get out.” Meanwhile, Ranger. Not op, not up- I honestly believe it to be a perfectly balanced class. Reason? You get what you pay for. You aren’t on the Thief side where everything you get is for survival to not die instantly or more damage to nuke someone before they get you NOR like Necromancers where you take traits because they seem like maybe they could possibly do…something? Ranger and Mesmer (Mesmer is overtuned, but they) are perfectly balanced in the sense that you get what you pay for. Someone else mentioned it. They have options, they have diversity, they can make builds work with what they get. They don’t have to build up to this magnificent end game fantasy in a trait line like Thief. Example.

Shadow Arts Thief: So you want some survival? Alright, well here’s a scrap of condi cleanse. Will that do? No? Ok, well here’s some really soft regen. Need more? Ok heres a cruddy heal with slow initiative gain. Not enough? Ok, well take a look at our Acrobatics.

Acrobatics: Hey, I’m garbage. But uh, I got this vigor thingie, and uh, some thingie to heal on skill use?

Meanwhile:
-Mesmers have the trait to heal per shatter, shatters remove boons (don’t have to trait per boon or something weird, or per heal) and they also get strength. In 3 traits they get this “Shatters remove boons, heal the Mesmer, and grant Strength”. Powerful stuff right?
-Ranger has a trait to gain quickness on pet swap, a trait to gain the equivalent of Thief’s steal on pet swap (and on their weapon swap), and by activating the pet skill can get massive benefits ranging from blinds to heals to boons to hard cc.

-Thief: Okay so I took 3 traits…that might help me live a bit longer. Uh, do I have more sustain? No? Uh, shoot. Um, how about … no I won’t kill anyone fast enough, but I have to take it.

Just how it feels to me, I’m sure people will disagree- but when I play Mesmer or Ranger I feel like my INDIVIDUAL traits have impact, yet I play Thief and I have to grab a slew of traits to have a similar effect.

Because Thief is in line to be deleted. If you want something that pumps damage and looks sick doing it, go ranger and build quickness spam. You basically have quickness for 20 seconds without it dropping. Fairly disgusting, managed to murder a thief after getting 9k backstabbed. Waiting for ANet to buff thief because…I won a fight with 6k hp, against a thief who got the drop, by just pressing 1. Le balance mates, le balance. Need to change my signature to “Was a thief, then I took a nerf to the kidneys”.

Didn’t get a chance to read comments, but I did read original. I think the axe has a place, but it does need baseline buffs or trait buffs. In place of your trait, I agree with your 1 and 3. Extra bounces and the aoe are nice. It embodies the axe wanting aoe. The rest is not quite right with me.

2: Increase bleed duration by 50%, add 2 stacks of bleeding (so about 40% damage and 50% duration at end point)
4: Speed up the projectile. Make it more reliable. At end of pull (it goes out for good damage, and comes in for good damage) it now knocks target down, after all axes are super heavy.
5: Take reduced damage (25%?), gain stability per pulse just like retaliation, and expand the bubble either over time or just by a static 30-45%. As the skill is now, its ok. You have to combo correctly and so far I can’t get the full damage without my Drakehound swap for quickness+immobilize. It doesn’t need to queue faster, because it reflects projectiles and thats handy.

Anywho, just my 2 or 3 cents. Hope I didn’t run over any toes, didn’t have time to read all the comments and I apologize if I did. I know nothing of speargun.

Yes, so far it works really well. 5/6 wins.

Not sure what to change, the idea is lots of quickness (your attacks do better sustained over burst) but at the same time it looks like Strength runes/sigils+force works well. Outside of that, burst within sustained damage is handy so on the fence of scholar<—>eagle with fire/air/rage sigils. Really hard to minmax it. Planning to move it to wvw when I get level 80. Thanks in advance for any help.

I like this way over the GS/LB because those are big hitters instead of sustained dps (they come to roughly the same, and in extended trades my items come ahead…I’m just as surprised). Ideas on how to give it more damage?

Hmmm….play as Darth Maul and be unable to buy the skins/armor OR play as Nova…and buy the skins and armor with ease? I VOTE NOVA! Also, Thief is supposed to get in and out easily. Staff is slow, bulky, messy. It is anti-thief thematic imo. I’d think Off-hand sword or great sword long before staff. And yea, greatsword. They are very lenient on their GS ideas and themes (I mean comon, a katana?). Staff is always a fat stick. Again imo.

Also, I agree Rifle would be amazing. I WOULD LOVE IT IF RIFLE PLAYED LIKE NOVA IN HEROES OF THE STORM!!!!! I mean, I would just auto delete everyone on my account and just…play Nova. I’d buy a rename, I’d look for the armor, I’d PAY ANET SO MUCH! TAKE MY MONEY ANET! LEMME BE NOVA! Sorry…ahem. You didn’t see that.

Why blinding dissapation? It’s just ONE blind. What is everyone’s inherent hate of this trait? It is literally a maximum of 4 blinds in half a second that then has a recharge of 1 per 9/14/20/30 (different numbers past frustration, don’t remember exacts). The illusions and phantasms don’t apply blind. Just the player. Take a look at ineptitude people.

I have mained mesmer for about 2 years (duo mained with thief pre-patch, but now thief is so easy to murder on any profession that idk why to bother playing one). Don’t think I’m pulling this outta the hat. Also, a stun every 5 seconds is not ridiculous when Mesmer is supposed to be the lockdown class. We have CONFUSION AND TORMENT AND CC AND INVULNERABILITY IN BUCKETS. Blind feels thematic. Ineptitude is bogus though. And Harmonious mantras. IMO, wait on hitting anything other than those 2. Those 2 will change the top build in spvp (which I can post for you, I have yet to lose anything lower than a 1v3 with it. and no, i kid you not.) Additional bounce is key. Mesmer’s “aoe backstab” has 30 seconds if you wait on blink which is the most and just 12 if you wait on mind stab to get the “100-0”. I could rant all day on mesmer, but I won’t. We got buffed, it’s nice. Did they overdo it? Only a bit, but that’s because Mesmer’s SPECIALIZATION THEME IS LOCK DOWN. It’s kind of hard to balance that. So, if they hit HM and Ineptitude Mesmer’s will lose the best build. Then the fotm mesmer players who think their one combo wins all, hint it does not, will be next on the chopping block. For now, let em be crazy. Mesmer mains like myself can throw them in the brig. Final note, if you die to the 100-0 shatter combo it means you are full glass. Should it take a lot of your hp? Heck yes. It’s the combo, it is the MAIN combo. They already made the ILeap>Immob>Mirror Image==>Flurry/Mind-Wrack combo a joke. If they hit that one (your additional bounce) then hit CS as well, the capability of landing our main berserker combo (which requires 4 skills, not 3, to 100-0 otherwise its 100-10 on berserker/assassins/rampager) is gone and you just successfully destroyed the Mesmer’s power build. Dead serious. Good ideas though. Not disagreeing with them for the most part, just stuff to keep in mind. Personally exhausted of trying to correct people, but its like the forums have a hive mentality that refuses to listen to people like myself who test this stuff. =( Makes me sad =(

I was trying to figure out what everyone has so far, what the builds are we -AS MESMERS- have managed to think up. Instead of diving around the internet and random chats, just one spot. This is for pvp. I don’t think we changed too much pve, but I don’t pve that much.

To each of the builds I provided: The first one I took was focused on strength and vulnerability. We can get a potential 37.5% damage increase (pretty permanent and stable, mind you) so anything with vulnerability was good. On top of that, shatter illusions granted might- and runes of strength is straight forward. The mantras can be swapped for DE (which imo needs to be baseline, but that might just be too powerful) but it was focused on you being in combat and cleansing before diving in (potential 8% damage increase for using each mantra really quick). So if done correctly, you have your (Berserker Amulet +5% from strength runes + might stacks +37.5% from vulnerability + 8 to 16% from mantras) and thats pretty massive especially if used in a singular shatter ball.

The other build was more of a safer shatter burst. Roughly the same concept, just more streamlined and with more boons/sustain.

Confounding suggestions is ok, but it’s not effective when you need it. Stunbreakers left and right, stability resembling candy. It’s strong, absolutely, but whenever I need it (and I had the trait) it never happened. Empowered illusions sounds strong, but its just per illusion and MOST of our illusions in pvp only drop one rotation before getting cleaved by some random aoe ability. That and from the math provided- 37.5%>15%. And again, that’s easy to get. Daze (shatter 3, pistol, possible mantra if you want to swap decoy or blink) gives 5 off the bat (and thats 7.5% damage increase) per shatter including yourself- and that rounds into 20 stacks or a 30% damage increase. Followed by a quick bit of combat, you just smacked all 25 stacks very consistently. It’s probably just my playstyle- and I always trait in deceptive evasion, I just noticed that one game I tried the damaging mantras and my shatter damage increased considerably.

We mesmers must pool together and find the best builds for:

Burst Damage (probably shatter)
Sustained Damage (probably illusions)
Tankiness (probably illusions again)
Support (Boon share stuff)
Condition Damage (mixture)
And the best theoretical hybrid between the mixes. It must be done.

Much prefer them buffing people to NERFING people. This new meta zone is fun. Mesmer has full build variety and options. I want the other classes to have it too. Besides, we aren’t even close to invincible (minus Harmonious Mantras- that’s bogus, halve the heal and its considerable. keep as is, and it just carries mantra players) and our condition burst is stuck on INEPTITUDE, not blinding dissipation. Yes, blinds are annoying. But you can only proc 4 (MAXIMUM) every 12 seconds, then you are out. The blinds come from you, not your illusions (I tested extensively) so if you are dumb enough to waste your shatters cuz “omg blinds op” then … I just don’t know what to say. Ineptitude on the other hand, read that sucker. That’s BROKEN. Considering breaking out full gear, grabbing a pair of mesmer buddies, letting us max our condi damage and confusion duration- then jumping a wvw zerg and just pressing sword 2 and torch 4 followed by Distortion Shatter. Honestly considering it, because it has no icd.

BUFF THE OTHER CLASSES TO OUR LEVEL, don’t nerf them down again. Oh, and don’t buff Ele’s too much. I suck at every class minus Mesmer and Ranger, but I pick an ele and play d/d…its…its so easy. 1/2/3/4/5 swap 1/2/3/4/5 (in a nutshell, slightly more complex, but thats the gist).

Point one) Lots of players are not used to Mesmer’s being a viable and visible threat. Usually people mow down an enemy team THEN go to a Mesmer. Now Mesmer is a threat, now you have to fight us, and now you don’t know what to do because you spent all of the past year/year and a half thinking “pretty butterflies, guess I’ll smash em later”. I’m not surprised that there is such a large case of L2P (good lord I feel dirty saying that, but for once I think nothing else fits as well as that) going on. However, read on to point two before you go “oh I stopped reading because I read l2p and I gotta protect my pixel pride”.

Point two) Current iteration of Mesmer has tons of build options, and one or two strong builds based on taking what the class is specialized to do. Again, I am not surprised. If you weren’t able to guess what Mesmer was built to do (and believe me, I just noticed it last week- kind of epiphany style), Mesmer is specialized for LOCKDOWN. Nearly every weapon we use has a form of HARD cc (knockback, daze, pull, push, stun) OR a form of condition that you consciously have to play around (Poison, Torment, Confusion, Immobilize,Blind). The balance team made a decision to focus Mesmers into what they were made to do- Lock you DOWN. We don’t just go in full offense or full defense like people think, because if a Mesmer does they die. I should know- I’ve been gobbling up the FotM players like candy….good to be a Mesmer main. Back to topic, do some things need to re-balanced? Of course, this patch just arrived. It’s not hotfix worthy, because the patch JUST CAME OUT but its worthy that some things get bumped down. The items in question would of course be Harmonious Mantras (that heal is massive and spammable) and Ineptitude. Blinding Dissipation isn’t even the real problem, but its another of those “make players happy”. The problem trait is again Ineptitude. That’s the biggie. Every blind applies confusion. That one needs the ICD, not BD. Yes, BD is annoying. However, spammable and solely overpowered? Not even remotely. A blind that comes from the real Mesmer ONLY once, per shatter which should not be used lightly because the cooldowns are pretty high is absolutely nothing. The blind from not attacking scepter defense and getting confusion, the blind from torch stealth leading to confusion, the blind from a shatter skill leading to confusion, so on so forth.

Just my 2 cents.

Honestly confused at this point. Should thief just get reworked from the ground up XD? The complaints will never end. Used to be “Backstab to painful” then evolved to “Stealth spam” to “Dodge spam” and now its “Player spam lockdown”. Thoughts?

My rotation (and these were LoS ganks in Skyhammer and Forest of Nifhel (uh, is that right? The svanir/chieftain one)): Arcane/Glyph/Signet (basically instant cast)- Auto, Phoenix, Fire wall, Fire Aura/Dragon’s Tooth, Auto (usually herding them to the fire wall) and then walking away. The other fun one to do is Fire Aura + Magnetic Aura when a ranger does there barrage. The burning/reflect damage is immense and usually one shots them. =D I do wish they would speed up Scepter Fire Auto a bit, but then this build would become meta instead of simple hilarity. On the fence if I want it nerfed or not….on the one side its fun, on the other I won a 1v3 and only lost because they respawn ran to the point that I killed them at when I had popped Earth 5 during my stomp…so it was gone >.<

Uh, that was everywhere. XD

I just perfected this build. Yes, cleanses are a problem- but not even remotely a big deal. The problem is necros reflecting, other than that if someone stops paying attention for more than 2 seconds you can win. Just posting this to raise awareness of the most rude build ever (I won a 1v3).

Not claiming its op, just wanting people to know what happens if you see a burn stack hit 10 before you even know someone exists. Then you get ticked for 2k for each of the following ticks. I personally got mine up to 19 at one point (tanky tanky war, survived long enough) and iirc the damage was 5k or something stupid. Again, awareness. Tried to warn peeps- this is brutal. Also- thoughts? Made this build then saw WoodenPotatoes make similar.

Freeze time would be static 2 seconds, and would emanate from the player for radius 600.

Traits:
I am not sure how I would handle traits. I know I would have traits focused on the boon/condition application, traits for the runes of course, and traits focused on the short bow itself.

Extra Details: Added runes because I could not find a utility type that fitted what I wanted besides signet, but those are super linear. Runes will be placed where you are at unless you take a trait to place them at range from around 750. Idea behind the kit is deciding between safe play and support, and hard engage for pressure. =/ Not sure how that fits in the game, but I really wanted a super supporty kinda Mesmer thingie. =/ Did I go overboard lol?

IMO, and I haven’t read through the whole thread yet, it’s do (due?) to the stat cap more than anything.
In WvW, the cap is through Ascended gear and Legendary weapons- this makes d/d more appealing because you get MUCH higher numbers. You have the possibility of one shotting people who don’t run toughness or vitality now. It makes roaming, scouting, and dueling much easier when you have much higher numbers because thieves only damage mitigating stat is their trait lines- how much stealth do I need to survive and do I need to dodge like a maniac. With D/D you only need 1 shot, so 5/6/0/0/3 full zerker becomes the thing.
In SPvP, you get exotic- this means your backstab isn’t going to be “doin tuh domegz” (all those one shot videos and what not) so you need more utility. You can’t one shot things that often (full glass staff ele’s the only exception), so you need to survive much longer to make sure your dps doesn’t hit the off switch. D/P has the same backstab, has easier-self-reliant stealth application, has a daze in case someone comes using a big move, and has a pair of HIGHLY reliable gap closers (both with their respective times to use).

How much junk (bloodstone, fragments…all those random ascended things that i got 20+ stacks of) do I need per item/total? And roughly how much gold in other items (silk, leather, metal) do I need? Just so I know how much to save. Seriously, I have a set of 20 slot bags- each full of Bloodstone Dust, Empyreal Fragments, Dragonite Ore, Blade Shards, Dark Matter, and Mystic stones. I’ve been gone a while, so I forgot lots of stuff.

Also, someone said there was a timegate? Does that mean I have to use each character to get a whole set in one day or is the “time gate” per item account wide?

@Zero- Sweet. Might be able to pick it back up. As it stands, I do more power on Necro, more tricks on Mesmer, and more condi on my Ele. Light classes for days >.>

@Kaikalii- Not just playing better, but to the point where I have to restrain laughter when a Thief in Spvp tries to nuke me. =/ That’s why I feel like a jerk. I don’t enjoy it, but it makes me realize that at a certain point a class can ~literally~ be nerfed into dust.

Used to main thief way back. Got addicted to mesmer shortly after and recognized that a good thief will kill a good mesmer. Easy, straight forward. Golden rule kinda thing, you know?

I have yet to have a decent duel with any thief (p/d d/d d/p s/d s/p etc etc) for a long time now. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t understand why anyone would roll one (no offense). I want to use my thief again, but when I do, I do so much less than on my Mesmer (less damage, less uptime, less disruption, less stomps). Anyone know when Thief class will get buffed?

This is a legitimate thread. When I left, 4 months or so ago, I could at least use my s/d p/d combo build and have a reason. Now if I use it, I NEVER go into s/d. I tried d/p again but thats pointless. I’m back to d/d…and I do so very little. My Deathshroud necro does the same damage ~per life blast~ as I do in a backstab. Again, will Thief ever be worth running again? I miss mine q.q

Oh, before I have to edit this in- this is PvE content and SPvP. WvW idk, need ascended junk.
