once group gets all the boss fights down you can do both wing in 1hr 15min pretty esay. if you wanna push it a bit I’ve seen it done in 1hr
This
In a relaxed run you need about 30 min for wing 1 and a bit longer for wing 2.
More alarming to me is the usual announcement in game isn’t showing either.
Considering the state PvP is at the moment maybe anet decided that it´s the best to not promote it. ;-)
I do fractals quite regularly, mostly tier 2 and mix of tier 3 if I have enough AR for daily. No ascended loot except several rings for more than a month. Meh
Droprate improves with Level. T2 isn’t much. You get much better loot if you do T4.
Ascended armour was available long before raids, but is too expensive for most of people that dont have 6 hours per day to play.
You can convert laurels to gold and craft ascended armor, or much cheaper do fractals.
Underwater-combat is very unbalanced between the different classes which get a big problem in PvP and WvW. Instead of properly balancing it anet decided to (nearly) remove it.
Theif is really bad, my character cannot solo the Champion hero challenges, i cannot even solo a tier 1 fractal…
This is a multiplayer game if you want a game with 100% solo content this is maybe not the right game for you.
In GW2 some area (dungeons, fractals etc.) are group content and while you can solo most of them that requires much effort and many casual players may not be able to do that.
This game has so many bugs and problems, I think the developer timer can be spend much more profitable than for this.
I believe we actually reached a point, where completing bosses has become a lot harder than after the release because people don’t give to kittens about boss mechanics.
Because the content get easier and easier nobody need to know something about mechanics, skills and so on.
Question is, what should the price be for such an item?
I would pay max. 800 gems for it. I got 681 unused transmutation charge and I get free new ones faster than I can – reasonably – use them.
Holy cow, how did you get so many? I only have 1, and I use them almost as fast as I get them.
I don’t know his way but you get many of them by playing PvP.
I still have 517 and I have used a lot.
Normal people spammed the loot button every second anyway, the gains is really the daily and reward tracks.
Can’t count the times I had a random banner in my hands
Keybind AoE Loot and this don’t happen. ;-)
No need anymore ;-)
Yeah, and it is so much better. :-)
TY Anet
Well, according to the info that Anet let slip during LS1 (more precisely, the Marionette discussion), an average player at that time didn’t know how to dodge. I sincerely doubt that players significantly improved since that time.
You didn’t have much confidence to your fellow players if you think they haven’t improved in more than 2 years.
Normal people spammed the loot button every second anyway, the gains is really the daily and reward tracks.

Yes.. new fractal daily loots are awful.. i’m completing all dailies since patch realese but couldnt get even a useless ring.. only trash nothing more
RNG is RNG, and that is a very small sample size.
I got one armor box, one weapon box, one accessory, one golden weapon, one relic, one BL salvage kit, one infused and two non-infused rings. So I’m quite happy with the loot.
Today :
T3 Daily + Standard Daily
Opened all chests : 1 Fractal Pot
Yéhé !! ><
But .. at least, yesterday I got an ascended box from a T3 Chest.
WTF?
You got really lucky yesterday and now you complain that you don’t get that much luck every day?
I may have been too harsh in the original post, but it peeves me that there are some people (trying to be nice here) who over exaggerate how easy open world pve is. When these people do that over exaggerating, I automatically discount their entire argument. They have shown that they extremely biased and have no desire for a reasonable discussion.
I think many people in the forum are exaggerating. They exaggerating the easiness of Core Tyria and they are exaggerating the difficulty of HoT. So Core Tyria has areas where you need to press more than only 1 and HoT isn’t remotely as difficult as Dark Souls.
I think the main problem here is that Core Tyria and HoT have different target audiences. In my opinion the target audience for Core Tyria is the unexperienced player and the target audience for HoT is the average player. Which doesn’t make HoT hard, HoT open world is quite easy it just isn’t as easy as core Tyria.

@Anet
Can we please get rid of this League and get MMR based Leaderboard back?
Sorry but I lmao at the bolded statement. So, is this the same Helseth who said people could carry their game, or the dude who tediously denied MMR hell, or the guy who believed that your teammates could, in no way. Impact the outcome of a game.
Wow funny how opinions are changing.
Did you even watched his video?
All this has nothing to do with his decision. His main reason is because everyone can get legendary no one want to watch.
I mostly solo and I need to use every skill and dodging, especially against champions and veterans.
You should try this
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Dragonhunter_-_DPS/Support
build.
The people who are saying that you can do core Tyria just by pressing ‘1’, are flat out lying.
The auto attack chain of the hammer is your max dps and gives you perma protection. So yes, you basically just press 1. ;-)
Jesus people, can’t we wait at least a couple of days so we actually know the droprate before we start to complain about it??
This
I wish people would define the things they are abbreviating AT LEAST once on a post lol…what the heck is DS ?? ? ? ? ?
Gear acquisition
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_equipment
Stats, Build, Food, Sigils, Runes etc.

However, in my defense i think it’s safe to assume ’’Lol" is a commonly used abbreviation by modern day forum users.
Yeah, but this is a GW2 forum and here it is safe to assume that most members know CC, DS, LoS, RnG …
SCNR ;-)
If you don’t know them use the wiki (as written above) or just ask, most members are quite nice. :-)

Only two classes can use short bow and their skill assets aren’t very viable in pve or pvp.
Thief short bow isn’t viable in PvP???
I would say DS meta. On good maps the dragon is dead in less than 45m.
I have very mixed experiences with the League System. If I play solo I have quite good experiences. In a group the experience depends on skill level and builds. In a group with coordinated builds and similar skill level the experience is quite good. In a group with varying skill levels the experience is catastrophic.
Before the changes of matchmaking I could just play with a group of friends regardless of their skill level. Matchmaking had always found a reasonable enemy team for us. If I do that now I get a guaranteed loss streak. I don’t think that it is beneficial for the community if you have to choose the friends you can play with by their skill level. I know that the league system in the last season was abused, but if the only possible fix for the league system is to break a good working matchmaking, the league system is broken beyond repair and should be discarded.
Also tbh you sound like 1 of those people who have a premade team and enjoy farming solo players and don’t want that to change, its ok though, I’m sure it won’t change so don’t worry about it.
I like to play with friends but the current league system punishes you for “just” playing with friends regardless of their skill level. At the moment you need to “try hard” in a group with coordinated builds and similar skill level or play solo. That’s why I mostly play solo at the moment.
I even made a thread about this topic a month ago.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/League-System-is-nonsocial
Which is just an out of context stat lacking the info to have any meaning
If the matchmaking isn’t totally screwed it has some meaning. On the other hand a few matches of some people have no statistical meaning. To be real, people who have bad matches come to the forum complaining, people who have good matches don’t come to the forum to praise anet.
you could have an overall 50% win rate of solos vs 5 mans, with 50% of the games being solo PvP players stomping vs inexperienced 5 man PvE groups, and the other 50% being 5 man ESL pre-mades on TS stomping solo PvP players,
What does that mean for everyone who lose against a non ESL premade?
Yeah it never struck me as making logistical sense. A premade can, by leaps and bounds coordinate better. Just the off chance they have coms skews the match so far in their favor it makes my head spin.
Yeah they could but most don’t do it.
On the other hand Premades get an MMR-Disadvantage.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Matchmaking_Algorithm
So if they don’t use their Com-Advantages but get the automatic MMR-Disadvantage they are in a quite bad position.
Well clearly some one is lying, all my matches go like the screen shots I posted…..premade win non premade lose and most of the time by a land slide.
Of course I can’t check anets data but I have similar experiences.
When I play Solo/Dou and meet a full premade it is often an easy win. Many of these full premades are guild teams of which at least a few members are quite bad. Only very few full premades are good coordinated teams of good players. Actually I wonder that it is still nearly 50/50. Most of my loses against full premades are not because they are better they are because one of the solo players throws the game and AFKs right from the start without even trying to fight. That’s really annoying to fight 4vs5 against a bad premade an knowing you only loose because some guy is AFK.
The problem is not that he left, why he left….
I turned off the video after he told that.
Because the game goes a PvP direction???
Come on, only a very small part of HoT is PvP.
Premade vs non premade….is it fair?
It seems to be quite fair with a small advantage for the solo players, because according to anet the win rate of five solo players is above 50% against five-person premades.
Only 1% of all Ranked matches played in season one were a full five-person premade group vs. a group of five solo players, and even then, the win rate for those five solo player teams in those cases was consistently at or above 50% throughout the entire season.

(we lost two islands >.<)
In the most runs the islands get divided between the squads. Was one or both of these islands among the 3 islands you were responsible for?
I have talked to a few other commanders in game and this seems a common occurrence.
Luckily I never had that problem.
Happily most players are great and I will not allow this to hamper my game play.
This
but beyond giving directions/information its down to the individuals to act or not.
A good commander should not only give directions/information, he should act. If you see that one of your islands hast to few people. Go there, your tag will bring other to that island too. That’s one of the reasons why the islands get divided between the squads, so you can see the coverage of the islands with the dots on your minimap.
This thread sounds like you are new to commanding and you lack a little bit off experiences. But even if you did a few mistakes that’s no reason to insult you. How should a new commander ever get experienced if he get insulted for every mistake he do?
The problem is the good thief will be the one who switches.
Sad, but true.
-Exploration/hearts: Gone! As far as we’ve seen so far. Now you just usually get your face eaten by some rampaging champion plant dinasour.
That’s nothing new. No Level 80 Map had
- Cursed Shore
- Southsun Cove
- Dry Top
- The Silverwastes
hearts.
(edited by Shylock.4653)
Yeah…..because I invest money all the time to make Ascended power gear….and then I put it in the bank and don’t wear it in WvW or open world….because of no agony resistance.
Totally logical and relevant point.
As logical as yours. ;-)
Why you don’t use your condi gear in WvW?
WvW is not a PvP zone, we’re actually really into PvE.
Not sure I really understand this. Troll Post, sarcasm, …???
It was a comment from the Devs…
That made me sad. :-(
And you invest a ton of money to make those gear sets and then they sit in your bank, because nothing in PvE really demands those
You need to invest much in ascended gear and agony resistance if you want to do fractals and then this gear sits in you bank, because nothing else in PvE need agony resistance. ;-)
You are presenting not enough information to make a conclusion or support your conclusion.
This
The only real evidence OP provides is that he is flaming/insulting his team.
Which is an absolute pro tactic for wining matches. ;-)
and just adding necro is THE WORST class to do this.
Of course necro is not a good class to do this, but this proofs nothing. Legendary has more than enough bad players and I have seen a good necro survive a 1v3 fight for a couple of minutes.
I am shocked that this hot join logic still exists in Legendary.
League != skill
WvW is not a PvP zone, we’re actually really into PvE.
Not sure I really understand this. Troll Post, sarcasm, …???
I’ve played GW2 since the beta, but left when HoT was released – I was essentially downgraded to F2P status.
No, you are not.
(The fact that you can post here is a proof of that.)
Free accounts have a number restrictions:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Account#Free_accounts
I had to point this out, but in the USA. From 2001-2013, cows killed 20 people per year on average, snakes only 6, and spiders only 7. So if you look at just the USA, cows are more dangerous than snakes and spiders combined.
Nice point. :-)
I wonder if it is relevant that a cow is more then 20/6=3.3 times bigger than a snake. ;-)
Sadly, most of these deaths come from cow tipping where the cow falls onto someone. Dumb people.
Has one of these won the Darwin Award?
Hero points should be just that – Hero Points, not Zerg points.
Hero points should be just that – Hero Points, not go there and auto attack 10 times in a row points like in Core Tyria. ;-)
Hero Challenges in HoT gives 10 times more reward than the ones in Core Tyria, so they need to be more difficult. Maybe some need a bit of tuning but the most are OK.
Oh god. I hope they never nerf the HoT maps. I play an elementalist and Tyria is already challenging for me as a fairly casual gamer – having such low health in addition to the lag being in Australia brings means I die a lot in all cases.
I really like the sarcasm here. :-)
Tuning the content for heavy lags because of playing from Australia isn’t the right way to go. You should better ask anet to give you some servers in Australia.
The dragons during the final fight do enough damage to one shot anyone and their altitude at which they fly means you can’t focus on a ground level fight and track every dragon in the air to watch for a strafing run.
and you not being able to track the position of every dragon in the sky while tracking the actual fighting on the island.
You make it sound as if you are involved in an epic battle while the wyvern are attacking. Truth is the wyvern don’t attack while real fights like the Mordrem commander fights. They only attack while easy fights like vine growth or Chopper. But of course if the destroying of an immovable object which doesn’t fight back needs all your focus, you are an easy prey for the wyvern. ;-) Yeah sometimes there are some enemies too.
Either you are trivializing this beyond something realistic
Trivializing it?
Come on we are talking about open world not raids, it is easy.
But I see have gone from never ever ever being able to be one shotted to there being things that can one shot you that can be avoided.
I have gotten from
just randomly one shot people
to “get killed if you mess up” which is absolutely OK. ;-)
Is it all manageable if you devote time to learning how to exploit the AI? Yes.
Learning the mechanics of an enemy/encounter is exploiting? Well if that’s true I’m a exploiter. :-(
I think of myself as an average gamer because I know many players which are better than me. Reading the forums I know that there are a some players who don’t use key bindings or don’t know their skills etc.
The problem here is what is the target audience of HoT?
• The keyboard turning and skill clicking player?
• The average player?
• The hardcore gamer?
In my opinion the target audience for Core Tyria is category 1 and the target audience for HoT is category 2. Which doesn’t make HoT hard, HoT open world is quite easy it just isn’t faceroll on the keyboard easy as core Tyria.
