oh and forgot to add, how broken thieves are in wvw and spvp with those 13k+ backstabs.

I’ve seen warriors hit ~13k with Final Thrust and that takes very little set up.

So, here’s a laundry list of things wrong with your statement.

1. To hit something that high both parities would have to be pure glass, or the target was an uplevel. The target also has to be below 50%.

2. Little setup? Are you joking!? Final Thrust has a long channel time and short range. Hitting it w/o Shield Bash, Bull’s Charge, or Flurry (which to hit that 1k would probably require Berserker’s Power so you would want a full adren bar, further limiting your options).

3. Power Sword is no longer worth running. I used to have a decent Sword/Shield + LB power build but with Arcing Arrow being nerfed by more than just the 15% advertised (thanks to the Ferocity nerf) the damage just isn’t there anymore. With Evis you can hit hard w/o the 50% HP requirement. Even running pure DPS axe you would have to be squishy as hell to be hit for 13k, especially in PvP.

I can go on but I think you get the point. Stop exaggerating.

I’m not exaggerating. Here is a few things that FT has over Backstab:

1.) Final Thrust has a higher damage modifier than Backstab. So given the same stats and bonuses, Final Thrust would hit harder.

2.) Final Thrust doesn’t require the Warrior to be stealthed or be behind the target for it to work. It just needs the target to have half health. This gives warrior a greater advantage than thieves in this area because while the thief HAS to be in stealth for them to use it, their window of opportunity is limited and if they don’t land it properly it makes the fight harder for them. Warrior can use their FT whenever it isn’t on cooldown.

3.) Final Thrust cleaves, so even if there were multiple bodies nearby the target would still get hit. Backstab does not cleave though and with other bodies around the target, the backstab has a chance to hit one of them instead.

4.) With flurry being the burst for sword mainhand, the warrior can pin them for up to 4s with the burst, cancel early and then use FT instead of burning a stun beforehand.

And then there is eviscerate.

If you think final thrust is any easier to land then backstab you are simply wrong. stealth is not a flaw to backstab, its a plus, you can land it easier when enemy don’t know where you are, you can even simply chain with steal to have a easier time reaching to the enemy

and final thrust? you can miss the dam thing when the enemy just walking left and right in front of you face, and i’ll tell you another thing, it only does damage when enemy is 50% lower HP, i know, mind blown, heres another one, it has a 15 second cool down, now link with how often it misses, and look back to backstab, i know if you still haven’t change your mind, you need some help.

oh btw, i don’t know in what unbalanced wvw or really rare not “easy setup” situation you have seen it.
but im 30 10 0 0 30 zerker with signet of rage buff runes of strength and full adrenaline with berserker power, and i only hit 7-8k on crit depends on golem with that thing in pvp.

Cause u wanna tell people they just have to reroll class xy and become progamers.

I guess u never had played ranger or warri before u just got screwed by them.
I hate it when people like you tell the people which class is faceroll and then they are kittening up completly in tpvp cause it isnt as faceroll as it should be.

I have played warrior several times. Whenever I want to halfway afk I play my hambow warrior.

hehe, hambow = all warriors now, i really like the thinking, because other specs especially zerkers won’t even make into people’s mind. the moment i saw your list i already went lol what, now i know why and i would love to see you go semi afk man against any non nooby random players, you must be so pro

Still a bad excuse as thief’s signet of malice is 110/hit and ele’s signet is ~200 per cast. Guess what, their active heals suck too but HS is still better…

Here’s the problem with that.
Warrior Signet heals constantly, yes there’s no denying it’s powerful.

Though, Elementalists also get several healing abilities on their weapon sets (every one).
Thieves also get stealth which gives them free time for their CD on heal to go down. Not only that, but in my opinion.. majority of Thieves run 30 points in Shadow Arts. Which cleanes conditions in stealth, procs regen AND heals passively in stealth.

I crafted my Thief to 80, I had maybe 8 hours playtime on it by the time I hit 80. I grabbed a full berserker set and went straight to WvW. Within 2 hours I had it nailed. Since then I’ve still barely died. They have plenty of escape and the survivbility stealth provides with 30 points in Shadow Arts is unreal.

So, in my opinion.. Warrior heal is fairly balanced.

Warrior heal is not balanced at all. It would be if the signet healed for 250/s. Warriors have reliable cleanses blocks and stances. In pvp nobody ever runs 30 in sa as stealth is completely useless…

nobody is running 30 sa in pvp, because it is conquest, in wvw where theres no time limit, nor points to capture but kill your enemy, 30 sa is one unkillable cheese.

Those are “hardest” only because more and more people actually learn to play sPvP and how to avoid being killed by noob-grinder builds. Once people learn to dodge and use stances those builds become “hard”.

because the best sustain come from damage mitigation, not from healing nor base hp, do you even play games…even in D3 vitality stacking up fake toughness means nothing.

let’s say before healing signet buff, even with healing surge, warrior had best healing(not scaling to it’s hp base, but healing amount compare to other classes) and highest base hp and heavy armor, yet they sucked hard and ranger’s bird were better then warriors.

there are stuff(hambow) that makes warriors strong, but please stop posting non sense like this.

i dont know why would you post this, everyone that is not some ridiculous noob, hj hero or wvw random pvdoors know that right now the fotm is necro and engi, and thief keep dominate everyone with zerkers(well maybe not, but we will see when the meta settle) and hambow is still strong as well, but that’s it.

and just ignore randoms like phirefox.2568, non of he said make sense or even show that he plays the class even a bit, don’t ever try to argue with someone that only plays one class or two and pretend like they know everything, especially not some pro scout that don’t fight and zerg, it only makes you dumber.

actually i’am a duelist in OS, not a zergling. You can ask lavra for that if you want, he was (or is? i don’t know anymore since i switched to abaddon recently) a duelist on Dzagonur (@lavra: i’am Nero A. :P). I got a Thief, a Mesmer, an engineer, a Warrior and A Ranger, so no, i’am not just playing one or two classes.

So please tell me, which of my points don’t make sense, and please give me an explanation as to what exactly leads to them being wrong. Thanks in advance!

Before we start talking about your balancing flaws, let me explain to you why wvwers have no right to talk about balance.
Food are like another armor piece, no, not just that, some classes can achieve up to 90%+ soft cc immune combined with trait and runes. how is that not ridiculously op, and condition builds can build up insane condition duration, if you have no -condition duration, you will most likely get trained so hard
and you know whats the best builds in wvw? the nooby ones, the shadow rejunv thieves roamer everywhere, PU mesmer, in trains, there are hammer guard war, then there are runes of perplexity.

If you are telling me that in PvE warrior is rubbish, or that the meta has changed from A/M +GS then you’re deluding yourself.

Similarly, I wonder why in top end pvp you see more warriors (yes engineers too – people seem to have picked up on the fact that they’re good) in the organised teams? Perhaps because it’s so facerollingly easy that low-end players can use it effectively, and high end can wreck faces?

Just to be clear also, I don’t main a condi necro. dispels “you’re only moaning cos you’re a necro” argument

These are exactly the kinds of runes we need to counter the condi spam meta. Because of these runes, power builds are being looked at again as a means to neutralize the favor towards condi builds. You now see more GS warrirors, power engis, and power necros. It’s not the perfect solution, but it is a step.

shouts are boons and conditions that can react even after the cast.

While Steal like pin down, once you get hit, it’s already happened, and it’s a game deciding skill.

Ask yourself why Pin down got an animation, and it is the same situation with Steal, especially trickery steal.

Don’t try to make up lame ridiculous excuse to blind yourself. So pin down already got an animation, all the shouts, targeting and sb better get animation too, said no one ever.

I dont care if it took you guys a long time, we received nothing in all this time.

That’s not true. Players which spent a lot of time in sPvP received a lot of skins which are hard to obtain in PvE or would require a lot of time to get them. Additionally sPvP was a completely isolated game mode until the recent patch so there was nothing that was interchangeably useful to both game modes (i.e. gold was absolutely useless in sPvP, karma in PvE etc.) You also have to take into account that many hard-core sPvP players aren’t interested in PvE or WvWvW which means rewards are not that much important to them and the previous version of sPvP was all they actually needed. Their outcries are more related to sPvP itself, lack of challenge etc.

As for legendary weapons, I don’t own any of those although I could have made them on multiple occasions (I simply don’t like the skins). I play all game modes (level 500 in WvWvW, rank 37 in sPvP, multiple characters with 100% map completion, all 8 player professions) so I don’t have a reason to be particularly biased toward any game mode.

The situation might be a bit different now that sPvP has opened itself to other modes but you can’t deny the fact that sPvP rewards got a serious buff since the introduction of the patch.

Who are you to speak for the PvP only players, there’s no skin that you obtain in PvP are hard to obtain in PvE, the only one skin you get is infinite light, and it required tons of glory and gold to make, or you have to be one of a few rank 70 that ever existed in years of playing while there are already thousands of infinite light in PvE. after the patch, anything is easier to obtain in PvE then in PvP.

PvP players want good looking skins just like PvE players, there’s no change.

Neither 4 sigils or Rune of Strength is exclusive to warrior, though. Can’t really call that a buff to Hambow. Hambow itself wasn’t buffed. And personally speaking, I did considerably better with hambow pre-patch. And yes, I’m using Rune of Strength. But sacrificing Melandru runes or Lyssa for them was a big blow to survivability with the ridiculous amount of condition spam in the current meta. Engi or Necro condition spamming the circles is far more OP in team fights then a warriors aoe. Warriors F1 hammer skill is easily dodged, and the bows F1 really doesnt do a lot of damage anymore, especially with a hambow build that has barely any condition damage.

you dont get the point, the point is, hambow is still viable while everything else got nerfed hard.

also switch endure pain to signet of stamina, voila, all condi clear with 45 CD and extra dodges, you don’t need endure pain.

Sad but true. Devs made hambow stronger and nerfed axe/GS builds because of building momentom. Apparently warriors aren’t supposed to dodge.

What did Anet do to make Hambow stronger? O_o

“Merciless Hammer: Damage to stunned and knocked down foes has been decreased from 25% to 20%.
Pin Down: Added a new warm-up effect. Increased the cast time from .25 seconds to .75 seconds.
Arcing Shot: The damage of this skill has been reduced by 15%. "

Most of all the serious nerfs last patch were targetted towards Hambow. What exactly did they buff?

sure hambow got nerfed, but rune of strength and new sigil of intellegence sync perfectly to hambow, making it extremely strong, sure it lost sustain, but it sure does a lot more burst damage then pre patch, while every other warrior build simply got nerfed to hell, even the ones that takes skill and not op (for bug reason)

Meta got worse? In my experiance meta hasnt changed at all …. in tourneys ppl still run double wars, with hambow or swords, ppl still run 1 bunker guard, 1 spirit ranger …. Only thing change i saw was that eles are stronger, necros with thousand ultralong fears, fewer decap engis. Tho i havent notice, as some ppl say, those “op” engies with strong burns, at least nothing/noeone that would stand out.

Op builds/proffesions are still op, just as before … nothing changed about toning them down …. war nerf was joke. Many new traits are joke (PvP point of view).

Still needs time to adjust. This patch was a big one, people are still playing the old meta b/c that’s what they’re familiar with. Once people figure out how to play with the new stuff, then it will change.

New stuff, more like new hambow, check out my hambow build in warrior forum, you can 100-0 any squishies with 3 hits while being PTV.

Eviscerate is very powerful but it takes more skill to execute properly. so many variations you can try. Why stick to hambow

because axe is no where viable in team play, and every single strength line power build got nerfed except bunkers and hambow.

if i would stick to strength power build, i would stick to greatsword instead of axe, where my love belong, but no longer, because they nerfed not only damage and survibility, but also it’s game play, it’s complexity. i would not just quit my build like that, if it was simple damage or/and survibility nerf.
example, if it was thief, it would be you can no longer shadowstep while casting skills, or if it was(censored) shatter mesmer, it would be illusionary persona no longer works without clones. yes it was that game breaking to me

New hambow is even better than before lol.

Running 10/0/30/0/30 with cavalier ammy and crit a thief with autoattack for 6.8k.

Screenshot or didn’t happen.

There’s no surprise, sigil of intelligence, which is the core of my hambow build, i can crit up to 4.5k with PTV and no crit damage. and it’s 3 crits guaranty every 10 seconds on single target.

tho i won’t suggest using strength line over leg specialist, leg specialist can help you landing your damage, while 10 point in strength gives little to non.

you can have perma 25 might with runes and sigil of battle and might stacking with bow and hammer, and whenever you switch to hammer you can 100% crit 3 times, you will be criting 3-4k for 3 times(9-12k damage) as PTV war every 10 seconds while AA them for 2k non crit on an engi and CC them to death.

Promote more hambow, because apparently that’s how anet want warriors to play.

Well,atm im using a power/crit build and ive gotten a pm while doing pvp from a med class that ive hit him for 11k with evis…Tell me how thats not viable,the guy dropped in 2 sec.

1st of all,PPC axe build is bad in 5v5, it’s just bad, you either go far 1v1 all the time, or you are going to have a hard time in team fight and being lees effective, it does not matter how hard you hit, rifle can killshot some one 19k at 1500 range, oh it’s viable now, no, rifle is the worst weapon in any serious tpvp matches for warrior.

2nd of all, who tells you that i play axe build, i play gs/lb 20 0 20 0 30 bullcharge frenzy balanced stance, the only reason i dont need berserker stance or endure pain, it’s because of that trait allows me to stay alive if well played. but nerfed anyway.

i’ve always think this build as warrior’s shatter, but hey they nerfed shatter too, while buffing PU mesmer from what i heard, gg anet.

3rd of all, if you don’t know how strength warrior are nerfed harder then any OP hambow w/e build out there, then you are just casual warrior, and if you think PPC axe or even any thing axe is anywhere close to what a hambow can bring, you have no idea. they litterally just bring down the skillcap of strength warrior to match the hambow, while nerfing its damage and survibility (by nerfing that single important trait), so the build does not play anything more complex while being way less effective( they already are less effective pre patch) then those op builds, while these op builds are hardly nerfed

4th of all, have fun 3 hit ko engis and squishies with this new hambow build

time invested does improve skill, in general an old rank 60 will always be better then a kittening rank 20, that’s a fact.

it’s rather simple, you gain Adrenaline, full, then you use longbow f1, and longbow 3 inside of it, then swap to hammer f1 on the fire field, and you can do w/e you want after, just swap to longbow when ever you can again, and repeat, lb f1 3 swap hammer f1.

I bought double draconic armor and tons of now-tonic town clothes

i sent a ticket, they gave me the " I am transferring your ticket to our Game Support Team", well every single time when i receive that, it means i won’t be getting a response anymore.
