Instead you might check this on-going thread to see which server’s temple is open. Then you can guest on that server.
Doh! Giving the link might help…. facepalm

There are similar threads for the other temples.

Just to be clear ( or confusing )…
ImaGod Smith and ImaGod Jones are different but similar names.
Good luck.
I am on TC also. RP servers typically have an active community in most aspects of a game. Very true for TC.
Having played on other servers I find good players and helpful people everywhere.
Also those ‘other’ people are on every server… And as they like to say, “deal with it; you can’t tell me how to behave”.
I bet you find good people on whatever server you chose.
Good luck and enjoy the game.
Watch for spawning Dynamic Events and World Events (orange circles on the minimap).
Pay attention to the /map chat for call outs of events.
Explore each map zone for rewards and achievements.
Play WvW or sPvP if you like that.
Start collecting resources to raise cash or prepare for crafting if so inclined.
Visit other starting zones and do all the above stuff.
Do jumping puzzles for lots, achievements and aggravation (hehe).
That’ll get you started maybe.
Good luck and enjoy the trip.
This entire game is endgame so you should not feel the need to rush to 80.
The home zone for your race.
After finishing that, go to lion’s Arch, explore that then visit the other starting zones.
Good luck.
I have 5 sets of gear for my ranger representing builds for different scenarios. When you hit 80 you will likely start that accumulation.
If I had it to do over again, I would basically keep my gear within 5 levels of my character level and then try out all the weapon sets and utility skills to find those that feel best (I am not saying produce the best results) to me as I wander around the maps leveling up on the easy stuff.
Once you hit 80 you might have found your preferred weapon sets; based on that knowledge you will know whether to move toward a direct damage or condition damage build.
Visit http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/ranger/ and start making your own build based on your preferences.
Always look at this forum as there are some very knowledgable folks providing their opinions. Take note and find your own path.
And you can always message us here or in game.
Good luck on your never-ending quest.
In the last week my Jaguar has not failed to stealth or Wolf to fear.
I wonder what other pets might be affected.
Bump to page 1
:)
For Charr (I have not played one yet) which is the most evil-looking armor type (heavy, medium or light)?
I know it is just an opinion, but it might help me think about a direction.
The profession does not matter and I can make a pretty bad looking Charr during creation. It will be just a fun character.
Thanks.
Was gonna post a RL picture of the most evil person, but knew the thread would be locked.
Ha!
Anyway, thanks for the motivation… Think I’ll make a new Charr toon.
You guys make me smile. So many comments that are right on target. Thanks.
The OP might be in sales or marketing (or of the type with a single-minded agenda) so rationalization of his undesirable behavior is to be expected.
I do not just ignore obnoxious players; my block list is probably the longest in history.
Just have a story for y’all…
While farming I found a dead guy next to a resource node. Whispered to see if he were there. No response.
Another player ran up. I told him the dead player was afk. So player2 says, “I wish we had the Reviver Daily so I could farm him”.
It still makes me laugh.
These are the best weapon images I have found. Excellent presentation and useful information.
All the work is greatly appreciated.

That forum seems to have a similar thread for each Temple.
Just a note to reminder…
Don’t log out at the "foreign server " Temple unless you like ugly surprises when returning to your home server. Lol
Another vote for Tarnished Coast . Active community in all aspects of the game and the unofficial RP server to boot.
Bottom line, I think, friendly is where you find it. Good luck.
Among North American servers, Tarnished Coast is the one you want.
High population, unofficial RP server. We are also T2 inWvW, but you don’t care ’bout that, right!
Good luck!
Exploit’s video and build are a good place to start.
Good luck.
Acura, for the animation value. If human, then female gunslinger theme.
Thief and elemental it’s are the two professions that I have not leveled to 80. Just cannot get the hang of how to play them. Had the same problem with Mesmer but gutted thru that toon.
My ranger has. 5 sets of exotic gear because as I learned more about the game and wanted to do different things I found gear that helped meet that goal.
My point is that there are 8 classes each with numerous builds and configurations. As you play you will discover new aspects of the game; your personal approach will change.
Just stay positive and experiment. What someone says is the best build or way to play a character may not work for you. Read/listen to what they say, apply your own criteria then decide how to proceed.
Check the profession forums here. Many helpful people there.
Good luck and hope stick with it.
Make it a stacking skill. Once the stack reaches 25, the pet explodes causing AOE damage to foes and applies poison, burning and bleed for 5 seconds consecutively.
Ranger is barred from using that pet again for 10 minutes. A different pet must be equipped.
Hehe, thanks for the chuckle this morning.
Now if only there were a way to transfer guild upgrades… Sigh.
@Khisanth,
Legs stats. — Soldier (67 power, 48 vitality, 48 toughness) vs. Sentinel ( 67 vitality, 48 power, 48 toughness). A 19 point swing between 2 stats on the one piece the OP needs.
If that swing makes a difference it can likely be made up via trinket, weapon and/or food buff.
Here ya go

There’s also the new Sentinel gear (available at a crafter or TP near you) made with the Sentinel insignias and inscriptions dropped from Molten Facility chests.
Am betting the recipes are available with 5/14 update.
I leveled mine just after release via Berserker, SB/axe+war horn/bear+whatever
Great for speeding through mobs, maps and content… For me anyway.
Got so bored that I put ‘er away until this month. Discovered Exploit’s melee build and am now having the fun I missed leveling up. Oh well.
Point is, the ranger is a versatile class. Experiment and take some time to enjoy the trip.
Good luck and come back often.
Do not forget the wiki…
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/
Another way to skin a cat…
You 2 could transfer to a server that he CAN get into.
Good luck.
Just fyi… here is the item description
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Assassin_Backpack
@Ceno, I am in much the same fix. Tier 3 guild, but cannot do Guild missions.
The game, you know, is designed for sociable people, not us.
I hope you find a solution.
Good Luck.
My vote would be some sort of necro. So many builds supporting different playstyles.
For instance, Power necro for keep taking and defense as well as open field Zerg battles.
Condition necro for group support, crowd control, and, of course, DOT. Or variations/combinations of these.
Both would be a hoot to play and only should decide/choose.
Until lvl 50, it can be argued that builds in PvE don’t really matter. Just focus on the big 3 and keep your gear within 5 of your level. The big 3 are Power, Vitality, and Toughness (PVT).
You wear cloth so prepare your mind accordingly.
1. Get vitality and toughness to weather a few hits
2. Learn to dodge and strafe to avoid being hit
3. Get power to damage foes (maybe kill them before they kill you)
4. Find some condition removal to counter lockdowns
After that choose your weapons, traits, runes, etc. that suit you.
Just my 2.5 cents
It is just a skin.
All those options above are good. If you ask more rangers, you will get more options.
Rangers are versatile so please do not stick to single setup. Try several that appeal to you personally. Carry different weapons to try against different mobs and situations.
Case in point, I just discovered the sword+dagger set this week. Very effective.
The new Sentinel crafted gear is available in the TP for 2-3 gold each. Or get your own insignia.inscription recipe from the Molten Facility and craft your own gear.
Good Luck.
DEKeyzToChaos.7381 gives a good review of both classes.
I have 3 necrosis but only one ele. The ele is stuck at 40+ because I cannot play it properly. shrug. Necrosis have such survivability, build variety, minions if you like, crowd control… The list is endless.
Farming Orr got a bit repetitious for my lvl 80 necro, so he is a dedicated WvW power necro helping with keep defense and open field battles.
Hope you find a satisfying professional. Good luck.
My vote would be power or condition necro, but you already have two light armor professions. Lots of build options even MM works for some folks. Great in zeros, keep offense and defense. Open field battles are a real hoot.
I took my lvl 30+ thief to WvW and asked to join a roaming havoc group. Was told by 3 different people to come back when I was 80. shrug
With a trap and bow ranger you could help a Zerg, keep offense and defense. Later levels let you start working on a melee build. Lots of options here too.
As said above, warrior and guardian have their place in Zerg and group. Save roaming for higher levels IMO.
Assassin,
Naga Fang is a random Mystic Forge drop so just buy it from the TP.

The Ceremonial saber and dagger are nice compliments (due to cash constraints, I got the Lionguard sword and dagger).
Thinking about Signet of Renewal and Sic ’em.
Thanks for the ideas.
Agreed. Please add more pet information via a status bar and additional options for pet management.

This site might also be of use:
Assassin, yesterday I got Naga Fang which comes with Sup. sigil of Ice. Though it rarely procc’d it was helpful. I imagine that Freeze would be helpful if proccing on every weapon change and lasting twice as long as the Ice sigil.
Puandro,
I started using Quickening Zephyr, but it was really hard to give up Signet of Stone.
Still working to get all geared up, but am impressed with it atm. Really missing my short bow and attacking from range, but PVE mobs die so fast I will get used to it.
Sword+Dagger is new experience as is fighting in melee range.
Thanks for this thread.
Funny. I had the same question yesterday.
Got a helpful in-game explanation.
An on-screen indicator would very handy.
Also look at http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/
How many bank guilds could one person create/belong to?
Definition: Bank Guild is a single member guild typically used as an additional storage facility.
Reason: Just got a good guild name that I could “reserve” then maybe expand membership in the future.
8:45 AM EDT – Blackgate server – Temple of Grenth was open/uncontested.
Ok, decisions, decisions…
If I equip Soulshard ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Soulshard ) which sword is going to compliment it?
You know we need a matched set.
@Puandro.3245,
QQ. Your video cannot be viewed via my iPad. Lol, I am temporarily disappointed.
Will have to check it during game time tonight.
Altruism runes might be a bit under-appreciated. They are great, imo.
@Durzlla,
We must have the same type of fun with our rangers.
Except I like to run through the Zerg to get the siege weapon AND its operator.
Axe+Torch/Shortbow with lots of condition, armor and healing.
Other side of the coin… Condition Damage bypasses Toughness, so Vitality and Condition Removal are needed to weather those attacks.
Magi includes Precision while Cleric provides Power. Consider how one benefits your plan over the other.
Finally, the third option, Apothecary, is out there. It lends itself to bunker builds more so than the other two (Cleric and Magi) imo.
Here’s a build that I am fussing with (can’t afford it yet, but planning on something like it).

Note: Have not decided on Sigils.
OMG, Thanks for this thread/build, guys!
I have a set of Cavalier trinkets wasting in the vault until now!.
Mayhaps I should level my thief and load ’er up.
Thanks again.
