Evon would have fixed LA in 7 days. Look at how quickly he built the Pavilion in DR.

For that matter, Evon would have had proper AA batteries in place for Scarlet’s invasion. We wouldn’t have to be wondering how long it would take the city to be rebuilt if it wasn’t destroyed in the first place.

Forget the captian’s council on that front. Evon has connections in the Black Citadel!

Don’t forget the fact that Hobo-tron is Evon’s son. This development is all Star Warsy.

Think of asura like little monkeys. Monkeys breast feed their young, so should asura. Charr are feline, and if you ever had a cat, you’d see that they have more than one pair of nipples to feed their kittens. Dogs too.

I agree. Asura females should have breasts, and charr females should have 6.

I would legit quit playing either of these races if this happened.

But it would be biologically accurate. Asura are “humanoids”, so they most likely have the same necessary makeup as most living “humanoid” things. Charr are feline, and most have 6 nipples.

It would be great if Anet introduced a mechanic that gave us the option of if we want a Dream or Nightmare sylvari. Playing as a bad guy would appeal to many players. And having open world PvP would be icing on that cake. I remember the tears back in the Diablo 1 days.

The mechanics for this fight were fine. Once you learn the tells and patterns, it because easy mode. The complainers are the ones who are just too lazy to fight within the boss/area mechanics. I get the feeling that some players would rather have the dragon stay stationary, and not attack back <cough>Zhaitan<cough>.

Why don’t you step off your high horse for a moment and consider those not quite as skilled as you, or the “lazy” players. Is it feasible to expect that every problem is a L2P issue?

It’s not about me being on a high horse mate. It’s all about players demanding mindlessly easy content. Once you learn to play this Living Story, it get’s pretty easy. The one major factor here is the effort it takes to pay attention and play within the mechanics.

Just wondering. Since all sylvari are evil now, will we be allowed to unbind items on player sylvari characters, so that we can delete them?

Or perhaps will there be a new mechanic were we’re allowed to keep our evil sylvari characters, and be allowed open world PvP when we see other players.

John has access to my info in game, and can see that I’m not selling any of these items. This topic is meant for educational purposes. It’s to point out that there are some Precursors that aren’t out of reach.

I’m glad that some people understand that higher demanded Precursors will carry a higher price. The opposite is true for lower demanded ones having a lower price. It’s these lower demanded one that people with low income can buy to start their Legendary journey.

As a car analogy: If you can’t afford to buy that new Ferrari, there’s a nice Kia Soul for a good price.

Smooth Penguin.5294

…aaand here we go again, deliberately comically missing the point about obtaining a legendary vs. obtaining the legendary you want and will enjoy a bit more than for 10 seconds in each Swamp fractal.

This post makes just as much sense as “you can equip all your characters in Zojja’s Ascended without ever crafting” and “everyone can become the president of United States”, but whatever, it will draw the desired attention and make a particular person happy.

The point here is that even a Casual player with low income can afford a Precursor, and eventually work their way to a Legendary. Not everyone is skilled in JPs. Not everyone has the time to run 100 Dungeons a day. And not everyone has the money to buy the most desirable Precursors.

If you make the choice to aim for something that you’ll never be able to afford, you can’t complain. However, if you realize that there are other options, life starts to look a little better. As a sports analogy, if you can’t afford Joe Montana, there’s always Steve Young.

Remember, Precursors are one of the rarest items that can drop in game. But if you’re not lucky enough to hit that jackpot, then you can buy one of the listed in my OP pic for cheap. Proof positive that Precursors are affordable.

Actually if you say “Precursors are affordable” you’re insisting that all of them are affordable, which is false. You should say “some Precursors are affordable”.

You’re correct sir. Some Precursors are affordable. Thank you for that catching my mistake.

Greetings friends! It’s been a while since I came around, and I see they got rid of the Black Lion Trading forums. Not sure why they decided to do that, but worry not, as I’m here to bring back the magic of market talk.

As you know, Precursors are wondrous luxury item. Many people want one, but a lot feel they’re unable to afford one, let alone get lucky enough to win RNG. Well, with Precursors being so ultra rare, there are some available right now on the TP for 100 Gold or less! As you’ll see in the attached screen shots, there are options for the budget minded players who want a Legendary, but lack the funds to buy Dusk or Spark.

Did you know that they introduced some epic Glorious armor as rewards for high ranking SPvP tourney players? That’s completely unfair to the TP players who aren’t skilled in organized combat. We should balance it so that everyone is able to get this new Glorious armor, since more happy players = better game. Instead of an unreasonable reward structure of Top 20 getting the armor, everyone who enters the tourney gets a piece.

Everyone is just as capable of making profit on the TP as those that currently do now.

If you think about this a bit harder, you’ll realize it’s not true.

While I realize that not all players may be as smart as the best market traders, it’s something that anyone can learn. Buying and Selling is all about numbers. Skilled players can do it in their head, while some players need spreadsheets to visually see profits.

It’s a different form of PvP that’s a bit more unforgiving to the unskilled. In SPvP, you know for a fact that a majority of the player base will never beat one of the national tourney reps in a 1 vs 1 situation. The skill levels of some are just too much to overcome. But in TP PvP, you have tools like your windows calculator, or even Excel to help with math.

I’m sure you would have more experience making nonsensical arguments than I. After all, check the OP.

I’ve actually read the OP’s statements, and I conclude that’s he’s a pretty wise fellow. Who would have thought that you can buy a Precursor for cheap, being as rare as they are?

I have this weird obsession with sentimental value, and items I buy with gold I farm any which way have none of it. For me a legendary has to be about the journey, but “grinding gold and then buying the precursor” is a horrible journey for me.

Out of curiosity, what would happen if someone were to mail you your desired Precursor? It would be neither a Gold grind, nor a journey.

Labyrinth is an armor repair grind

in Living World

Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294

Smooth Penguin.5294

The entirety of this thread can be summed up in two simple issues:

1) Keep up with game changes

When you have no idea that major changes were made to the game, and then base complaints off of non-existent problems, you can walk away with egg on your face.

2) Learn 2 Play

You can’t zerg the labyrinth “ghosts”. Just like in Pac-Man, you need to avoid them or they kill you. Stealth comes in handy, but if you don’t have it, roll dodging works too. Touching them is fine, but the real danger is when they actually attack. So if they’re in front of you, just roll through them, and keep moving. Use your mini map to see escape paths.

For the most part though, this comes from EARNED goods, things that they had to work to achieve, like the new Luminous armor, for example. Anything you can just buy for gold is junk for this purpose.

You actually have to earn a Legendary, because the amount of time it takes to craft it is roughly equivalent to the time it takes to farm the Gold to buy it.

What I think this comes down to is jealousy. Some players’ skill level or skill set up isn’t as efficient at killing mobs faster than zergs, so they want zerg loot nerfed. The math here is simple: (# of players) X (DPS) / (HP of individual enemy) – (time to kill enemy) = profit

Actually we do. JS has outright said Anet values market stability in the stickied questions about the economy thread.

Obviously they value it to some degree, anyone would, I certainly do, the question is how high it is on their priority list, which features take precedence? If they decide something is a good idea, but might cause market instability, they work to make it a stable release, but at some point they may be forced to choose how much instability the feature would be worth. You only assume that correcting the Precursor market would result in an unacceptable and uncorrectable market instability, when neither is necessarily the case.

Keep in mind, “market stability” does not mean that high end Pres have to stay at 1500g+ and rising. “Market stability” can mean that the high-end Pres all drop to ~250g and stay there, that is stable, just at a lower value.

No, that’s just the Entitlement talking. Luxury goods are perfectly placed at the moment. There’s no point in making luxury goods cheap for any reason outside of selfish desires to destabilize the economy for personal gain.
