I think Devon got promoted, since he’s been doing great work on the WvW content.
Last nite, I was going to duel someone in Ebay BL, then four of his guildies jump from behind a wall and ganked me. Someone owes me for armor repairs…
Can I ask why cotton is as high as it is right now compared to the other materials?
1) Not easy to farm
2) Upcoming Ascended Armor crafting
I hate Anet’s philosophy to make encounters frustrating and annoying instead of difficult. Why can’t we have difficult and fun instead of frustrating and not fun?
When you learn how to play the content, it’s not frustrating or difficult.
Unfortunately, Anet has a strict policy of only one account restoration for the life of the account. If you had an account restoration already, and were hacked again, I’m afraid they won’t be able to help you recover a second time.
Lol guys
1. Dont lie… It was 4s and it raised to 7s
2. The supply was 51k. It changed to 35k. So when you buy 10k of it you YOU changed the price. (Arenanet should do something against this kind of market manipulation.)
In the wise words of John Smith:
No.
Next will be class change… no but really, you have a whole quest line for your race.. i doubt its something ante will ever look into… yes we all might want it, however i doubt it will ever happen.
This isn’t a “slippery slope” type argument where you can reasonably say it’s an issue of line drawing: Profession is core to gameplay; race is merely aesthetic. Allowing the one would have absolutely no effect on allowing the other.
Wrong. Race affects Personal Stories. It also affects certain skills.
This topic has already been discussed. Anet has no plans to implement this service. If you wish to continue talking about this, you should discuss in existing threads in the Suggestions forum.

I updated with the information necessary to clear my name from the exploit I was accused of abusing. If you double check all the crafting log, TP log and mail log you should see everything is collaborate with each other. I didn’t use any bug and exploit to gain unintended benefits. I will rent lawyer for this case, I do believe that my account has been closed unreasonably.
Similar problem had Flash.6912 “Ticket #130907-000104”

Do realize that by threatening Anet with lawyers, you cease all assistance from the Support Team. You then have to deal with their Legal Department. And from my understanding, they’re not the team that helps to fix account problems.
I’ve found there is less and less to do in this game that doesn’t require a huge time investment. No room for casual play.
See below
It’s about choice. There are other content in the game that people will limited time can do. World Bosses like the Shadow Behemoth is still easy, and can be killed in 5~ minutes. CoF path 1 is still one of the quickest dungeons, so that’s also an option.
Make two paths and split the content. Each path being half as long as the current dungeon. So we don’t have to spend 2-4 hours doing one path.
It kinda sounds like you’re asking for less content. I would personally disagree with this if that were the case. Short dungeons are not fun.
It’s not less content, it’s more conveniently sized for people who have less time. Have a choice to continue to the next part and it’s the same thing.

For future references, keep content requiring this much strategy and effort instanced for guilds as raids. It’s literally 2 days after “boss week” ended and tequatl encounters are EMPTY. It went from never being able to get in on your own server to do the encounter, to nobody even bothering to do the encounter at all, in under a week.
This is truly a remarkable achievement for any game developer.
It’s a ghost town because you aren’t in Mumble when we tell people which server we’re guesting to. We don’t announce it in Map Chat.

Thread title updated to more accurately frame the debate at hand.
Not sure the updated title reflects what I was trying to say… I have not liked other updates, I have no interest in the Super Adventure Box or some of the PvP events like the aspect arena etc… but I could easily ignore those things…
This update changed and for me ruined an event and an area of the open world I used to love.
So I was trying to say that this is by far the worst update ever from my perspective.
I will respect your opinion on this event. At the same time, my opinion is that this update is wonderful.
But that doesn’t make sense, as if you make it easier for one server to do, people will just guest to that server. That ruins the balance. And I think everyone will agree that Tequatl shouldn’t be Easy Mode anywhere.
Except people are already doing that; as you yourself pointed out, people are now racing to see who can kill him fastest, and at this point there are three sorts of servers: Ghost towns, Overflow Hells, and Guild Raids. The first is being caused by people flocking to the other two, leaving behind those who have stronger reasons to remain on their home servers, thus denying the content to both them and those who get stranded in overflows. There needs to be some form of enticement to end the talent drain that has occurred. We don`t want the content to be easier, we want the content to be more accessible.
The difference is subtle, but important. There are too many frustrations currently built into the event, mostly due to time and social issues. We want to see those issues ironed out, so that it is still fun even if you get beaten like a dead horse. In the Invasion events, even when you failed there was still a sense of fun and accomplishment to it that Tequatl lacks. Part of that was the Monty Haul nature of the event, yes, but the majority of it was you were actually in a large scale battle against enemies that wanted to fight you, rather than just standing there taking lumps or forcing you into awkward control fights.
Hmmm. There’s an idea. What if Tequatl had limited mobility, and could actually move around the Fen?
The content is accessible. Tequatl is in the Open World, free from instances, so anyone can participate. No one can prevent you from going to Spark Fly, and no one can kick you out. He also spawns regularly.
Now if you want to win, that’s a different story. The content forces players to band together and plan tactics. If you’re unable to coordinate, that’s not a problem on Anet’s side. That’s something players are in full control of, as proof with all these Teq Killing guilds show.
So basically, all the frustrations with this event start and end with the players. All the solutions to those frustrations also come from the players. Make an effort to lead (as certain people on this forum have done) and you end up with four or five full guilds of new friends, all with the goal of beating Tequatl.
Why would any server want 6th place? Wouldn’t the rewards be better for winning the silver league than losing the gold one?
Ladies and gentleman, there are actually people that think like this.
In who wants to be a millionaire, if i was up to 500k and I was 1 question away from 1 million but if I get it wrong I only get 100k, I’ll take that 500k and go aye. Not everyone is a gambler and it is for the better because when you gamble instead of taking the risk vs reward into factor then yeah..
I’d take the 100k, and give the rest to Evalana as a bribe to stay on Maguuma!
You can cover it with a helm.
Last time I checked, we weren’t required to purchase this from the Gem Store. So why so much hate towards Anet?
PS – It’s only 56 Gems when you buy in bulk. That’s pretty cheap!
That works out to 2.78 gold each right now, still too much.
Too much as opposed to what? It’s a convenience item. If you like it, buy it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. But if you like it and can’t afford it, wait for a sale. That’s what I do for Character Slots, Bag expansions, or even BL Keys.
Best of all, they don’t cost real money. Just convert Gold to Gems, and they’re essentially free.
cough Opportunity cost. cough
You mean one hour of my time to get something that isn’t required?
What the point in that?
These are learning moments. If something hits you, and you die, be sure to not get hit again.
We need to be careful. Tequatl might start to look too easy.

As I said in another thread, when you learn how to play the content, things get a lot easier. Stay positive! Keep trying, and you’ll get it soon enough!
So I just finished the new dungeon with my guildies and I think it is nice. Not as good as the flame and frost dungeon but cool.
I am not so sure if I want to do with randoms though. The part with the ooze&flames and the electric floor could be pretty annoying.First the minor complaint because it is not so bad but annoying.
- You get teleported when you touch the generators.
In the dungeon no problem but in the final bossfight it can kill you. I would suggest that they disappear after they get destroyed or at least at the moment the bossfight starts. Now the 2 things that I think are bad and which made the dungeon a lot less enjoyable for me:
- Bosses have too much health
The norn or the axethrower guy took like ages too kill. They do not even learn new attacks. They just stand there and absorb your hits. With like half their life they would be more fun.
After a few minutes you just go brain afk and do the same thing until he dies.
(Would like to hear if other groups killed them fast because they had tons of damage, maybe it was just because we lacked that?!)The last complain which kinda ruins my motivation to do this again are the rewards.
The dungeon is time consuming and has 1or2 spots which can take a lot of time if you do them wrong.
This is not a problem if the rewards would be good. But they are just terrible. I did not even get enough key pieces to open a chest in which also are lame things( at least my party did not get anything cool)
Yeah I got 2 gold, nice and all but I wanna get cool stuff. Let the axe boss drop an axe, let the rifle boss drop a rifle and so on. Something like this. Anything.Liadri ->you beat her->you got something
tribulation mode->you beat it->you got something
That is motivating!
Couple of things to counter your post.
1) Liadri and Tribulation mode isn’t here permanently, as the other player has stated. Sure they’ll come back, but this new path can be done at anytime. So there’s no need for any special rewards.
2) When you learn how to play something, be it a Dungeon or World Boss, things get easier. If you think the bosses here are too hard to kill, perhaps you’re either geared wrong, or are using the wrong tactics. Experiment with different builds and strategies, and find what works. When you poke a dragon with a stick, and it doesn’t die, that doesn’t mean you should call for nerfs.
Why ask for a refund? You used the Makeover Kit, and were satisfied with the changes, or you wouldn’t have accepted them. If you’d like to try the new hairstyles, you can easily buy more kits. Best of all, they don’t cost real money. Just convert Gold to Gems, and they’re essentially free.
You do realize that each map has a maximum number of players that can play, thus the reason for Overflows. So in essence, Overflows show the popularity of the LS content, thus more reason to release similar ones going forward.
Perhaps what the OP is really asking for is LS content being fun whether you’re in an overflow or the main map.
I was suggesting to spread the content over various maps or if not possible, then block the guesting to server maps that already have overflow.
That solves nothing, since popular content will still be popular. That means Overflows.
In your OP, you said you wanted this to be instanced so that groups can get together. Then you say it should not be necessary to join a group to kill it. I’m a bit confused.
Well basically what these guilds are doing is basically making it into an instanced event. They scout out a mostly empty overflow and take it over and populate it with people from the guild.
But it shouldn’t be necessary to join a guild to do this… it should have been an instanced event from the start.
As long as you have a lot of friends, you don’t have to join a guild to do this. However, not everyone has hundreds of friends who play this game at the same time as you. That’s why some pre-organization, like joining a good guild, is needed.
As for the content being instanced, that’s a bad idea. It prevents everyone from enjoying the content, as certain people would be able to dictate who can play, and who can’t. In my separate suggestion, a Hard Mode version of Tequatl should be instanced, as then it would be a Raid type fight.
On the same thought of instanced content, you’d still need to join a guild in order to participate, since randoms would most likely be kicked. So the idea of instances present a new necessity for joining guilds, or being left out. As it is now, anyone (guild or no guild) can participate in the large scale fight. That’s how it should be.
khani, you know what? I forgot all about Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Where do they fit in with this Living Story? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
You do realize that each map has a maximum number of players that can play, thus the reason for Overflows. So in essence, Overflows show the popularity of the LS content, thus more reason to release similar ones going forward.
Maguumans, look; you’re definitely not bad. You got some great GvG players and you got a lot of spirit.
I actually wouldn’t worry about you guys getting “broken” morale-wise if you do go into Gold. However, you are going to have a very humbling reality check on where you really stand if you do. You are going to find how far your NA really is from T1 quality and quantity.
You are going to get rolled by any T1 server and the sooner you realize it the better off you’ll be and you can make the best of it.
Edit: .7 points till you get to 6th, might as well congratulate you now, but can you keep it?
Note – Maguuma doesn’t care. The Commanders could have 0 PPT, and still be happy with the GvG and zerg busting.
I wish once per hour (00:00-00:25 for example) the next attemp would :
a) reduce his hp by 50%
b) rates of attacks are tripled
c) the timer get halved also to 7 min
d) more waypoints are disabled
3) damage taken by cannons are reducedbut:
e) chances for loot is increased dramaticaly
You can’t reduce both the timer and his HP. That would make things a little too easy, since the timer stops when he hits each quarter life.
I’m a Mag PvE nublet, but even I’m putting in my time to push us to get the 6th spot. Gained 20+ WvW ranks thanks to the Cody Train last nite!
And from my own observations, Maguuma has Tier 1 skilled players with Tier 8 coverage. Thus is the reason why we deserve that spot, since skill is measured higher than population.
ok so ive seen maguuma in various matchups and yes u guys lack coverage. u have some pretty good players on your server. so does my server. we push zergs that outnumber us by a lot and win many times and i gotta say lower tier servers are way more about tatics that numbers. but believe me u dont wanna be in gold league. if your 30 man zerg runs into a 70 man jq zerg u might get a few wins, but a lot of times u get steamrolled.
i think u have faced a t1 server before…not sure, but the current t1 have stacked even more and do have some very skilled guilds now. but if u get up here, u will see for yourself.my server is fighting hard and we are a little tired but we wont give in. even while sitting on 10ppt we will still try to push. so hope u guys will do the same.
The thing is, Maguuma is different than most all servers. Mags love good fights, and you can only get them by facing the top servers. So it’s not a matter of being steamrolled or not. All the Commanders here would probably sacrifice PPT for a good GvG.
Side note – we have counters for every meta that a T1 could throw at us. We’d place 6th mainly due to no Oceanic coverage.
I see what you’re saying. Maybe there could be additional Turrets that specifically shoot at Teq in the air to bring him down. Then the fight starts as he lands. A JP up the Teq’s back to get to a “sweet spot” for a crit attack would be an awesome mechanic, but I’m not sure the game engine could handle that. The thought of a moving JP is delicious sounding.

I would gladly pay 60 usd for cantha.
At this point, I would give up my first born for Cantha.
Welcome to the club!
My suggestion to ANet: take out the time limit, and base the time between Tequatl appearances upon how quickly the server kills her. On servers where they kill her in less than 15 minutes, have her come back more often. Those folks will be rewarded for their ability to organize. On servers where it takes an hour to drop her, make her come back less often. But at least give everyone a chance, casuals and elites alike.
There’s not enough “+1” on this forum to express how much I agree with you.
And, please please please, use the same method you use to warn about the ongoing invasions to warn when Teq is about to start. Or something like that (maybe an ingame starting events chart?).
But that doesn’t make sense, as if you make it easier for one server to do, people will just guest to that server. That ruins the balance. And I think everyone will agree that Tequatl shouldn’t be Easy Mode anywhere.
My question is – Where is Fluttershy in all of this???
She’s obviously been hanging out with her best friend Frost-angel!
Yes. YES! This times a THOUSAND!
Fluttershy is best pony!
Edit: Tried to +1 your post, but I get an error after hitting it hundreds of times…
I disagree, Teq is too easy. I mean they expected ppl to take weeks to do it. It should one shoot everything with laz0rb3ams out of it’s eyes and the fingers should just poke everyone to death. Also 5 min to kill it, 15 is too long. And make it so that using 3rd party software like TS gets u banned. choo choo -.-
I partially agree. Seeing Teq shoot lasers himself would be a great mechanic. However, in reality, dragons can’t shoot lasers, so it wouldn’t fit in with continuity.
I’m a Mag PvE nublet, but even I’m putting in my time to push us to get the 6th spot. Gained 20+ WvW ranks thanks to the Cody Train last nite!

…
what is going on…
We missed 2 Camps. I is disappoint.
You can’t make an event like this for only a small amount of people. Raid content of the elite level needs to have a full group of no less than 100 people. But an instance of 200 people would be even better.
What I’m suggesting is new hard content for people who crave it. I’m not asking for the current Teq in the Open World to be buffed. He’s fine as is.
My question is – Where is Fluttershy in all of this???
As Anet plans updates to all dragon events, Tequatl’s encounter is a good basis for how these updates should be made. Requirements for coordinated groups and epic play will be a must, no question about it. But there is that niche group of players who love hair pulling challenges. What we need next is a separate Teq fight that’s even harder than the current one. Tribulation mode!
There are a few changes that will make the Teq fight even more challenging. We’ll need the following:
1) Instanced Raid fight. No, I’m not talking about the regular Tequatl being instanced. That wouldn’t be fair for everyone in the Open World. But the harder Teq fight should be. There should be an NPC in Splintered Coast that ports people over to an instance where Tequatl: Tribulation Mode would be. This could even be Moto testing out some new hologram technology. The fight would be Elite Content gone wacky, thus only the best can/should go in. One possibility would be that a Commander would need to start the instance, and would have the ability to kick people out. A player kicked would be unable to re-enter for 45 minutes. The instance should also have room for 200 players to participate.
2) Timer reduced to 10 minutes. The current 15 minute timer is quite generous to the well organized groups. By having so much extra time remaining near the end of the fight, part of the tense feeling of being uber focused fades too quickly, as people begin to relax and play sloppy by the last 25%. With a reduced timer, groups are now forced to remain focused on the task at hand. The psychological effect of this change would give that artificial sense of panic since there’s less time, but in reality, 10 minutes is actually more than enough.
3) Wave buff. Players are used to being insta-rezzed when the stomp wave hits. There needs to be a 1-hit mechanic here to punish people who don’t attempt to dodge or jump the wave. So instead of being downed after a wave hits you, you simply die.
4) Death mechanic. A new mechanic could be that if you died more than 3 times in this fight, you’re kicked out of the instance.
5) Unlock WP. For balance with a reduced fight time, the Splintered Coast WP should be available.
6) AFK kick timer. Let’s be honest, people camping and doing nothing hurts. So there should be an AFK timer that boots players out of the instance. Don’t move for 1 minute? You then get a 60 second countdown timer. If you still don’t move after that, you’re kicked out, and can’t re-enter for 45 minutes.
7) Increased rewards, and only for a win. A Tribulation Mode fight should have vastly increased rewards. No more chests for effort. You either win or lose.
Remember, this wouldn’t be an Open World fight like the regular Tequatl. It would be an instanced fight separate from the rest of the map. There could be a warning that says it’s for Elite players only, so there’d be no complaints should you fail. This could be the very first GW2 Raid content that players have been asking for. I highly recommend the Devs consider this challenge.
No. Timer is valid as is. Anet has even said that they were surprised that people found a way to beat Teq so quickly. It was supposed to take a week or two weeks for groups to figure out a way to get him down.
But now that we know the secrets to winning, the 15 minute timer is actually generous. Groups are competing to see who can win the fastest. Having 5 or 6 minutes to spare on the timer (without event bugging) isn’t uncommon.
Here’s a little secret that I’d like to share with you: If you have enough DPS when Teq gets hit by the Mega Laser, you can take off another 25% of his HP and the timer doesn’t restart. He goes from one Defense event to another.
Join a Tequatl-killing guild.
I did finally get the final achievement by joining TTS and killing it in an overflow, but honestly that should not be necessary.
In your OP, you said you wanted this to be instanced so that groups can get together. Then you say it should not be necessary to join a group to kill it. I’m a bit confused.
And by the way, I disagree with your thread title. This has been one of the best updates to date. AND, it’s permanent!
I think what he means is that it should not be required to join a specialized guild, join a voice chat server, and have people scout out empty overflows to bring the whole guild to. This is a bit overkill to be able to down a zone boss, in my opinion.
You don’t need to go that far. Teq guilds are doing it in Overflows with pugs all the time. Only if you want a pure guild server, will they scout and guest somewhere else. Again, not necessary, as it can still be done with at least half the server organized.
OP has it wrong. This isn’t about being Casual or Hardcore. Any Casual type player can play and complete this event. Just because you can’t get full achievements, doesn’t mean others can’t.
Join a Tequatl-killing guild.

Spamming “1” for 5 minutes just to get a guaranteed Rare loot isn’t fun.
Neither is waiting an hour, playing flawlessly and getting absolutely nothing because half your team is made of noobs. Pulling your weight in this fight is not elite. Succeeding at any pveasy content is not and will never be elite. Having your reward for your effort being able to be denied by a small number of people being useless is male bovine excrement.
The only enemies in this fight are your own teammates, and given one of the platforms GW2 was sold on was ‘no griefing ever’, that should never happen. You should not have to hijack overflows with your premade guild team just to be sure that you won’t have victory stolen from you either.
This is a group fight, not an individual one. If you have skills, that helps the group. If someone doesn’t know what to do, it hurts the group. In that case, you need to make sure you have enough good players to offset the bad ones.
I’ve been griefed by the game with DCs near the end of the fight. That’s worse than anyone one player camping on a Turret can do.
There is no “i” in team. Either you win together, or you fail together. So yes, pulling your own weight is Elite, since it helps the group win.
