10/18/16 Ele skill changes

I love the change to GoEP – it was always one of my favorite utilities, but never fit into a build. It has such a high skill-cap, and now is more usable.

I have been toying around with a hybrid damage (sage) ele and have a couple of iterations that are both pretty decent.

First, a few notes on traits:
- Arcana works very well with sage. The burns from EA dodge stack very well with the glyph.
- Water is an obvious choice, esp. with arcana for all of that cleansing goodness
- Fire seems very offensive, but sage is a bruiser build and this just doesn’t seem to fit. Taking fire seems to promote a pure condi build. Blinding ashes can give some defense, but its too random with all the random burn procs. This traitline has potential if the opposing team is very condi, but you end up very selfish.
- Earth is ok, if you want to play sort of like the old d/d ele. You would take written in stone, combined with SoR and Earth Signet, and probably earth runes (toughness, plus a magnetic aura, plus extra prot duration. This build does decently as a bruiser (but still not much hard mitigation) while still cleansing and protection-ing your team in a group fight.
- Tempest works pretty well with latent stamina, invigorating torrents, and elemental bastion to cleanse condis like a mofo (as current build does), but also gives you quite a few more dodges (like the old days of sigil of energy giving a full dodge and vigor at 100% doubling your dodge rate). This also gives some excellent team support, but not negligible dps. If you take tempest, you take soldier runes if the enemy team is heavy condi (you can cleanse like crazy between water swaps + water dodge + auras cleansing + shouts cleansing) or something else (strength, earth, fire, flame legion, hoelbrak, and scrapper seem like decent choices)

I personally feel like the water/arcana/tempest has the best promise, but earth might be a close second.

Nice ideas, but a couple of problems with the build.

  • Any tempest build would not work without Harmonious conduit unless running in an organized team. Overloads are to precious just to blow it off on a random CC. Good players can just CC you and it’s goodbye overloads. Metabattle has Invigorating Torrents as the trait slotted but WTS/AGs use Harmonious Conduit more often.
  • Soldier runes is meh, what do you use it for? I am assuming you are using GoEP, LF, X. So unless you take a shout, you only use the rune for the heal and rebound (1 condition every 75 seconds only) Not worth it right?
  • Latent stamina is good yea, so Is Arcane precision, its just perfect for a condition build, pair it up with GoEP.
  • Another good debate is Final Shielding vs Arcane Resurrection. Final shielding is good yea but its on a 75 second CD. Arcane Resurrection gives a little bit more team support + it synergizes really well with Elemental Bastion
  • I would take a Might stacking rune for the build to boost more DPS like hoelbrak. Radiance is also a very good rune to consider.
  • Water vs Earth is another good debate. If you chose to run focus, Obsidian flesh benefits a lot from the Earth line. You also get more sustain via Protection. Water is still good but your OF is on a 50 second cd.

Since AF is now on a 15 second CD in PVP, would Staff/Dolyak/Sow/Regen or whatever combination you like, still be mandatory?

I mean, there is no reason to have AF filled faster since you are still stuck with the 15 second gate?

Will non-AF focused builds, like one without staff be viable?

I would say our lack of condition duration traits is an okay trade-off. Thieves have the damage and duration stacked in one trait, but their poison application is far less than what we have at our disposal.

240 radius seems fine, as Guardian’s GM trait for their passive Virtue that sets foes on fire, as well as Berserker’s GM trait is 240. Same radius as most AOEs like traps, bombs, some sigils, and such.

Makes sense. Just wanna say tho, I wish our poison was unique like reaper’s chill before.

Sorry to say but this is a bad build. You NEVER EVER run full traps on ranger, our traps have 0 utility.

No stunbreaker. You can argue druidic clarity but this build right here has very poor AF regen.

Then throw in some evades/movement skills/teleports/stealth. You know the good stuff and job well done ANet.

Maybe if you actually learned how to play the game instead of crying about how everything is overpowered, you might actually realize that there is a lot more depth to the game than you’re even cognizant of.

Also, not sure I would assign you as an advocate for skill considering your latest world championship performance.

I don’t understand why people think this video shows no skill gameplay. If pvp was just spamming skills, then this would NEVER happen. This shows that there is an optimal way to use skills in that situation and both revs, because they are the best 2 in the world in my opinion, both know exactly what to do. Would some random Rev in ranked do that? No, they would use their skills in a different, less effective way. That video shows the exact opposite of gameplay with no depth and I honestly do not understand why people do not seem to think that.

Also, this was supposed to be a positive thread about the moments in competitive events that people have enjoyed and looking forward to what may happen next season, so can I ask everyone to please stay on topic because it really is sad to see all this negativity in the thread I created.

Apparently people are so kitten in NA. Offended by everything. That’s why gw2 pvp scene is a joke.

GW1 rangers had something vaguely similar to GW2 thief initiative that meant they could just spam skills. So picture a hammer warrior with no skill recharge. It was a very popular build.

GW1 rangers were beasts, lethal traps, hammers, best interrupts in the game, best degen in the game….

I hope we get all those you mentioned through patches too, stronger traps, stronger CCs.

Most traps except Frost are fine. Little bit of DPS boost for 2 traps is all I want as I mostly go for low-hanging fruit tweaks.

As for Frost Trap, if I had my way, I’d have it encase foes in a block of ice on trigger for 1s. With that in place, people might look at it instead of Spike Trap for being a better snare and CC on a much lower cooldown.

Wouldn’t change the fact it still hits like a fluffy pillow, but it would turn peoples’ heads enough to give it a thought or glance to place it on their utility bar for a spin or two.

That, and please at least give 1 stun breaker to a trap, so there is an opportunity for people to use more than 1 trap on the bar.

I guess, sure. I’m still on the boat to have Remorseless provide the unblockable aspect as pet attacks are kind of… varied and mostly weak.

I’ll chime in once more because looking back on the first page, I think some interesting and streamlined things can be done to the poison traits you listed. I’m thinking instead:

Refined Toxins: Poison damage you apply is 25% stronger. You and your Pet apply poison when above 75% health (10s ICD).

Seeing how we have Hidden Barbs as a master trait, moving the increased poison damage down would be all right. Then we do a throwback with a mix of what you suggested and twist it as a unique debuff that anyone can contribute to as a Poison Master replacement.

Edge of Extinction: Cast Edge of Extinction (6s) on a foe when you apply Poison that matches or exceeds the threshold. Stack Threshold: 5. (20s ICD)
Edge of Extinction: When target foe is Poisoned, nearby foes are also Poisoned (4s).
(240 radius & 1s ICD)

As of now, there is only one unique group debuff and that’s Necromancer’s Vampiric Signet. I’d like to see more of these and a Wilderness Survival GM seems like a perfect fit, though, not exactly low-hanging fruit.

Would be great, not only with Refined Toxins, but also synergize with Short Bow, the Murellow, Spiders, Devourers, and anything poison related. 1s ICD on the effect, as well as a 20s ICD to cast it on a foe keeps it in check.

Being a unique debuff would also mean others can contribute to poisoning the target to spread out the poison to other enemies. So, it introduces to the Ranger a different support/team-oriented type of play.

Another great idea, lemme edit my original post. I would even say that Edge of Extinction needs a Poison duration trait like thieve’s Potent poison. We have 0 condi duration on our traits. 300 radius atleast.

I’d still like to see something done about Go For The Eyes. We were fine before without it, and after the nerf, we are still fine without it.

I’d like to have Wilting Strike replace Go For The Eyes and have a new master trait in BM that can build more synergy with Resounding Timbre, Beastly Warden, and “Protect Me!” with or without Resounding Timbre.

Feral Aggression: Cast “Sic ’Em!” when your Pet taunts a foe. ICD 40s and can be reduced with Resounding Timbre.

Your Pet taunts a foe by either means, and the Pet strikes harder and moves faster. Foe is revealed in case they break out of it, and if Resounding Timbre is taken, regen & swiftness.

As good as “Sic ’Em!” can be, it has a very niche use in roaming and 1v1 scenarios, working best against stealth classes, which only a third of the professions have long and multiple access to.

This would be a good way to bring, not only more synergy within the traitline, but give it a wider use in other builds and modes while strengthening the niche on single-target revealing. It’s long ICD also keeps it from being overpowering.

Wow this sounds so good. Really.

Just a question related to this, The wiki mentions that Sic Em is unblockable, I am guessing its the cast right?

This would be even better if Sic Em made your pets attacks unblockable right?

Well Longbow has 1500 range, which is a big upside, but reflect is way too strong against it. Destroy is extremely strong already, but at least it’s more fair than reflect. I think my suggestion would be a good middle-ground. Making it all unblockable would maybe be too powerful in the opposite direction. Or you’d get things like 50% chance to be unblockable, but that’s no good, just look at Strider’s Defense and why it’s never used.

Speaking of unblockable, maybe Hunter’s Shot should be unblockable at least, so it always stealths.

I would say it wouldnt become OP. Let’s take in for example necro. Unblockable marks are AoE vs Rangers LB which is 1 target, RF is highly telegraphed.

Just compare other classes access to unblockables:

we have 6, 4 of them are traps, 1 doesnt damage at all.

OR we could have a condition on it, “Under the effects of fury, LB skills are unblocakble” This makes awesome synergy with the Skirmishing line.

You know sometimes you get upset and feel like you are alone. I wanted to make this video to let the rest of the community know new changes are coming and they seem great. To be fair this video also talks about things that are NOT great! Things that i want ANET to change ASAP! But here is one thing that every player needs to speak out to.

BALANCE PATCHES QUALITY SUCK kitten

For a grueling wait time of 4 months, there is barely any trait changes/ reworks involved. A lot of em are just Tooltip fixes. All classes have unused traits and what not just because they suck. Improving on the quality of patches enables more build diversity.

Can you imagine it took 4 years to save pet names?

If we had more quality patches, I am pretty sure there will be less complaint for balance and fewer complaints that we have 0 build diversity.

Some things I would like to see for Longbow:

  • Lead the Wind becomes Glass Arrows: whenever your projectile is reflected, it’s destroyed instead. +10% attack speed, 20% cd reduction.
  • Pierces by default.
  • Hunter’s Shot will always stealth. no hit required.
  • Point Blank Shot range increase from 1200 to 1500. At 1200 range or more: 1s knockdown instead of a knockback.

Why: So it can compete better with Staff. Reliable stealth instead of reliable mobility and something to counter reflect, but not completely negate it. Reflect is rather overpowered against Longbow. Instead of 100% damage going in one direction, it’s going 100% into the other direction, which is a 200% difference. Projectile destroy is 100% damage reduction, which is still strong, but more fair.

As others have mentioned, Lead The Wind should somewhat tied to be an unblockable. I like your idea but it still does not address that there so much Blocks in the game right now (just think of DH having countless blocks, and that is only 1 class)

Another thing that needs to be addressed is there is so much projectile hate in the game at the same time. Eles and Scrappers.

Last thing, we only have 1 unblockable source per se, and that is traps. We all know our traps are inferior compared to other classes.

The combination of blocks, reflects, and projectile hate should really give the justification for us to have access to unblockables.

THE PROBLEM: Anet’s balance quarterly balance patches SUCK in quality. We wait for 4 months for very minuscule changes. I would even say the fixes they do can be done in 1-2 months tops. It takes 4 months for a patch that has barely any skill updates/reworks?

EX: It took almost 4 years for the ranger pet to save names.

Not really QoL but I would like to suggest some small bumps in some of our boon and condition durations. Really small adjustments to even things out a bit.

  • Flame Trap: Increase base Burning duration from 2½s to 3s.

After Engineers had their Fire Bomb duration increased from 3s to 4s, could we get the same treatment? Albeit, a smaller adjustment.

  • Spike Trap: Increase base Bleeding duration from 6¼s to 8s.

Again, just a small bump in the bleeding duration. The added Launch from last year was great, and the increased cooldown was justified. Though, it can use a tiny push for the bleeds as its direct damage is very lackluster.

  • Nature’s Vengeance: Increase base Vigor (Sun Spirit), Protection (Stone Spirit), and Stability (Spirit of Nature) from 1s to 1½s.

This is for those that gear towards 100% boon duration or in party compositions with a Herald using Facet of Nature. That way, these type of setups by gear, party composition, or a mixture of both, can provide 100% uptime on these boons.

  • Pet F2 Conditions
    - Fire Breath (Salamander Drake): Increase base Burning from 1s per pulse to 1½s.
    - Frost Breath (Frost Drake): Increase base Chill from 1s per pulse to 1½s.
    - Consuming Flame (Fire Wyvern): Increase base Burning from 2s per pulse to 3s.

Another small increase, but the increases are to align up with Expertise Training. This would bump the Drake breaths to 2s per pulse and the Fire Wyvern’s Consuming Flame to 4s per pulse when traited.

On the traps, if you wanna increase baseline durations it’s fine as long as you nerf Expertise training. That trait alone gives 66% condition duration on traps.

PvP Druid needs balancing

I think healing is fine and so is damage.
The amount of dodges however, is not fine. That also goes for other classes like rev though. Staff3 as well as s/d evades could need a cool down increase, just increase the damage on s/d evades accordingly, so that the effect remains the same outside of the evade.
S/d alone provides more than twice the amount of dodges, that basic endurance regen does and druid also has 12/15 (realistically 12 out of 16-17 though) seconds vigor on top of that.

Meta build does not have WS. no endurance trait. Is this the 6/6/6/6/6 build?

Dagger is only taken for the evade. 5 is meh, and you wanna nerf that weapon set? Buff 5 to be AoE then.

Dolyak Rune could be nerfed to stop working with Celestial force, Druid healing is fine though because THAT’S WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO! but they should nerf the stealth trait by giving it a longer cooldown. What good druids usually do now is they intentionally don’t use all their Celestial force so they can go into it again, moments later, only to come out of it and stealth again.

Go ahead and Nerf dolyak BUT PLEASE let astral force SCALE BETTER WITH DAMAGE.

How to Balance Guards

In case people don’t know: Only Test of Faith and Fragments of Faith don’t have a cast time. All the others traps have a ½ activation time.

Fragments of Faith being a stun break doesn’t make sense to have a cast, while Test of Faith is actually the only insta cast trap.

One could argue a cast time for Test of Faith won’t make much difference since when you activate it, you are inside the trap already so won’t receive any extra damage from crossing the blades, but, at least for me, it doesn’t matter if this trap gets an activation time or not.

Anet could reduce the radius of the traps, however, I think in the case of the Test of Faith is going to be a buff instead of a nerf since it will reduce the size of the “safe zone” inside the trap. It will be easier to push, pull and accidentally cross over the swords.

In case you did not know, Dh traps are the ONLY ones that do not have cast times.

You could argue this point all day if you want to but It needs to have cast times.

OR

Put a stunbreaker and boons on ranger and thieves traps as well.

Wrong. While i’m not opposed to buffing the other traps, saying that’s what’s fair is BS. I can’t wait to see the qq on condi ranger traps that daze lol

Stunbreaker is indeed fair for thieves and Rangers, this one of the reasons why you cannot run 2 or more traps for these classes because you have 0 stunbreakers.

DH traps also have boons by default. You know this right? HS is the only one that grants boons for ranger ASSUMING YOU SIT ON THE TRAP. Which you won’t most of the time.

This is a stepping-stone to build templates. They will come in time.

Default builds were just added so new players could use the system and be more up-to-par than normal.

This is the kind of mentality that has been holding everything back.

In time? Dude we played since launch, how much longer do you wanna wait for a feature that is supposed to be a key element on a BUILD-CENTRIC GAME?

It stands to reason that if the blocks didn’t change, then something else must have that is actually the cause of your complaining.

FACT: It’s not the druid. It’s the fact that ranger is one of the lowest DPS in the game. That’s all there is to it.

You can go core ranger for a more DPS traitline, nothing will change.

Rank 1 Legendary Prestige LB/GS build

I think what gives me the upper hand is that I’ve been playing variation of this build (GS/LB) basically since I started PvPing in GW so I’m used to animations and know how to time my skills right. My point of view, melee (GS) is stronger than LB, but you can’t go melee unless you have astral (to disengage safely). When using Longbow try to sit on unteleportable spots so revs/thiefs don’t bully you too much. And yeah it’s HoT PvP so counting dodges is important for dps builds since once you miss your skills you just get bullied out and have to run.
Also, I’ve made my 3rd montage, a few clips from last few days just for fun. A bit shorter this time, but that’s because I wanted to show something new, rather than being recurrent.

what do you think about Taunt Vs Zephyr?

I play druid, thief, guardian and rev for pvp and wvw and yes.
Druid is currently op along with guardian. and the weakest is the thief

Please nerf mesmer’s blurred frenzy and add cast time to their shatters before doing that.

Mesmer and Guardians are vastly different on a myriad of levels even before looking at individual skills, so you’ve lost this one before you’ve even begun.

Specifically though, Blurred Frenzy is a rooted channel, so you can’t reposition or cast any other non-instant skills while channeling it. Shatters themselves can be used with immediacy, but doing so without clones reduces their effects dramatically.

Of course any good player knows AoE pressure nukes mesmer clones in an instant, and DH with their excessive on point aoe pressure can do away with them best of all XD

So what’s the big take away from this? Clone generation takes multiple skill use with cast times (among other conditions) to generate (some, not all), can be shut down with cleave/aoe pressure, and assuming you overcome those caveats (and its reasonable that, yes, mesmers can work around that to some degree) only then do their shatters make an impact. But here’s the kicker, you can still block/invuln/dodge those clone shatters XD

Blurred frenzy is 3s invul on a 9.75s cd which is also a burst so there you go offensive + defensive in one skill (it’s also an invul so unblockable skills are useless here). Mesmer also has 4s invul on shatter on a 42s cd that you can use twice. Then you also have those low cd block, teleport, stealth. Also guess what? You can spam your shatter while doing all those things because they don’t have cast time. Now should a class that is designed to confuse enemies with clones and use those split seconds of confusion to their advantage have more “active defense” than a class that is designed to be a bunker with no way to escape?

Clone generation? It’s not even a problem anymore with chronomancer.

Your shatter can be blocked/dodged? So is everyone else’s attack.

This is the problem with this forums. Please get your facts straight before acting you know it all.

  • Blurred Frenzy is an EVADE not an INVULN shocking aura proc goes through it. so please, educate yourselves first people before making a claim.

Protect me Taunt also goes through it. Again it is not an Invuln.

  • Second, You CANNOT SPAM shatters, shatters are dependent on clones 0 clones = 1 hit shatter with IP(If you blow it off) before you can actually spam or whatever term you wanna use on shatters, this requires heavy investment with MI, Energy/Vigor Sigils,etc. It only look spamming because all of the mesmer’s shatter skills are off CD.
  • 4 Second shatter = 3 clones + yourself, You have to have the perfect scenario here. Every shatter is dependent on the number of clones. Please do not make it look like “Mesmers have a 4 second invuln” Yes IF you have 3 clones that are alive. IF you do blow it off, What else do you have for offense?

Let’s analyze it further:
Warrior: Projectile Reflect while blocking. In 75 seconds you will have BLOCKED and REFLECTED 9 seconds total
Revenant: Autoprock Shield + Cast Shield. That means a net worth of 12 seconds worth of blocking in 75 seconds
Mesmer: Double block on a 30 second cooldown. That’s aprox 9 seconds of block in 75seconds + the alacrity

Renewed focus gives me another 5 seconds of block?!!
OH MY GOD UNFAIRNESS, 10 seconds of block total on a 75 second cooldown is too powerful!!!!.
Please tell me how other classes don’t use elite skills.
If any of the DH elite skills were to become viable I would gladly swap Renewed Focus for it. But I’d have only 5 seconds of block uptime and I would carry that burden willingly.

If we had to spend 5 times blocking and unable to attack with a virtue which is the class mechanic I would’ve quit the game long ago.

DH lose offensive capabilities to carry renwed focus which is pro support.
Less QQ more Pew Pew.

If you see a white wave in front of the guard let me tell you a secret… go to its back, it doesn’t block from behind, learn to play, adapt, develope strategies.

Way to justify it,

Shield of Courage is 65 seconds traited, can also be casted twice with renewed focus.

Can be used for stomping, ressing vs the blocks you mentioned that don’t (This is the biggest advantage of such a long block)

It blocks attacks for allies too if they stand behind it vs those you mentioned that don’t

Traited also breaks stuns, and grants stability so good luck CCing it.

Hi, I am Miaz, I’ve been playing power ranger build since I started playing the game and with Healing Druid build being the most relevant recently I wanted to see how far I can push it with my old fashion build. In few days worth of grind I ended up making it to the top of European ladder, and I must say that the build is pretty strong. It plays way different than most builds, since unlike most meta builds it has horrible sustained damage. You are all about bursting and ccing, and forcing big cooldowns of youre enemies. The build is based on Marksmanship traitline which provieds a 95% damage increase modifier for you and your pet burst ability when set up correctly. It helps kiting off the ranged condi classess well enough. Also you have choice between Rune of the Mesmer( more cc) or Vampirism ( more life force, better vs condi). Just my 2 cents. Lead the wind is imo better. You only have 3 fury sources, 1 of which is terrible. I tested the GS trait multiple times and watched how many times it procs. 1 of which is an elite. Tiger is the only reliable one you have,

No way lead the wind is better. Tiger with the 95% modifier hits up to 8-9k. This build has TERRIBLE sustained damage already, so attack speed doesn’t help at all. And your GS-Tiger combo can take 80% of enemy’s health. Also improves LB-Smoke burst by roughly 2k.

I get your point, totally. All I am saying is that maybe you can add additional fury sources to make the most out of remorseless? like pack runes or etc.

1. DH’s healing is unarguably broken. I don’t care where it happens, but you can expect it to be cut. Purification is not balanced, especially in Conquest, and if the entirety of your profession’s ESL viability relies on the most overrewarding heal in the game, it speaks volumes about just how badly this skill is carrying the profession.
2. In conjunction with the sheer multitude of mitigation through other DH mechanics, Aegis is unfairly filling what little vulnerability windows DH actually has. One aegis will easily linger while the DH chains other blocks (Shield of Courage, weapon blocks, Renewed Focus, blinds) to the point where Aegis can pop back to back. taking the extra second or two to further deal with this against a DH is huge when you’re getting hit every second for 1/5th of your health when trying to melee them. this problem is also related to DH healing because if you guys didn’t get to full heal as ridiculously often we wouldnt need as many windows of vulnerability.
3. …I said 10-15% overall nerf. learn to do basic math: 5-7.5% nerf on both S/F and Sc/Sh = 10-15%.
4. the only professions that don’t outright lose/stalemate to DH are Druid and Beserker running RR. using other overpowered professions as justification for where yours is at as never worked well as an argument: two wrongs dont make a right.

Using the word “overall” is broad so no need to make it sound like i’m complacent when you weren’t clear.

Aegis is a block that gets removed first before Focus#5, F3, etc. You can test it yourself. Just like the blind condition, you have to be aware whether or not Aegis is on the DH before delivering a heavy hitter.

Taking other classes into account when doing nerfs is called balancing. Rev & Druids are direct counters 1v1. Nerfing us without touching them means we’ll be ever more useless vs them in team fights (we currently have a slight advantage) and hilariously underpowered in 1v1 side points vs them.
Engi/War/Necro (the good ones) are darn close to beating DH successfully 1v1. Not to mention Mesmer’s properly timed Moa will annihilate us.

You’re not realizing how much you’re nerfing DH by removing Purification because that’s exactly what you’re doing.

Druid a Direct counter? What?

Are you telling me that A Druid with 0 toughness with Mender’s Amulet is able to kill you? On a point?

After taking more inputs from people I decide to change the rules set and ban list slightly. This will be the main post that will contain all the information of this tournament that will happen on: August 27th

I have lot of gems from winning AG and idk what to do with them so I am giving back to the community (LUL). This tournament is host in NA but EUs feels free to make a F2P account or transfer over and play if you want. A battlefly website will be posted here soon.

Rules
Only these amulets are allow: Viper, Zerker, Marauder, Destroyer, Assassin, Seeker, Sinister, Rampager and Carrion
If a duel last longer than 3 mins both players will be put on zerker amulet
NO REVS IT A VANILLA TOURNAMENT. So don’t ask me if Rev without the Elite is allow, that cancer Came with HoT and is NOT Vanilla

Winners
1. Mesmer – Buffed in all aspects of the class….lol
2. Guardians – Looks like good changes to help this struggling class
3. Warriors – somehow avoided the nerf bat and remain faceroll stronk
4. Druids – Your support meta class and you can keep pet names ^^

Losers
1. Thief – eh you nerfed this class? wtf
2. Ele – BOOM (though watch another OP build will be discovered)
3. Engi – Might now require a thought process to play now?

How did druid win? Nothing changed at all. All we have gotten is random pet buffs who cant even hit targets. Seriously? Keeping pet names is a win? Wow.

The biggest ranger feedback/rework thread only served 1 trait change which was enlargement.

I do not know bout you guys but I give up on the devs. So much potential of the game lost like falling sand, As fast as I pick it up, It runs away through my clutching hands.

Call me Elitist or Over Expecting, I do not care. All the changes in the notes can be done in 1 month. and yet we wait 4 months for it.

How come the balance team is still clueless about balancing the game?

No offense to anyone but 4 months of waiting, and all we get are majority of unecessary changes and very minor needed ones.

There is ample feedback from the community yet they all fall on deaf ears. like this:

Let’s look at what hasn’t changed and will never likely be addressed:

  • Soul Reaping, Discipline, Inspiration, Beastmastery + Nature Magic, are all Mandatory still. This alone kills build diversity.
  • Elementalists after the FA nerf way back then, Eles still doesnt have a DPS spec aside from the Staff Zerk/Marauder one which has 11k hp (not viable), with the removal of cleric, Eles do not have any roles now.
  • Ranger pets AI never gets addressed, took them 3+ years just to save pet names.
  • Thief role is always the same since launch. 0 build diversity.
  • A lot of the Core traits from ALL CLASSES Never gets reworked.
  • Unused Utilities, Elites since before HoT (or more) are the same till now.
  • Still No build diversity

I mean Cmon Anet, 4 Months of waiting and you wanna nerf [Beastly Warden] when 95% of Rangers Trait [Zephyr’s Speed]

Lets Buff Pigs and Moas but let’s not address Hitboxes and AIs of Pets?

I am sorry to say, all these stuff you delivered can be done in a month’s time. 4 months for subpar changes. Another important point and is the real problem on classes never gets addressed, you just tweak random stuff for “balance patch fillers”.

Have you even tried out what the patch has to offer? What are you looking for in a patch that wouldn’t make it “utter trash”?

Uhmm. buff to diversity?

SB = Trash
Spirits = Trash
Traps = Trash
Core Traits = Most are subpar
Core Pets = Still can’t hit moving targets.

What do they do, Buff Moa And Pigs? Who uses those? Those changes on those 2 pets are 10 of em.

Imagine those 10 being allocated to where they are needed.

You wanna know what the patch is supposed to be like?

Mesmers = No more reliance on Inspiration, Give more power options, give clears on other lines or weapons
Rangers = Fixed Pet AIs, Rework core ranger stuff, etc, Pet Freedom on skills, Rework Spirits
Warriors = No more reliance on Discipline, , Skull grind condi nerf
Necromancer = No more reliance on soul Reaping
Elementalist = More build diversity, made changes on damage like scepter and dagger to open up power builds. Upped HP.

etc.

Cmon, 4 mos for unnecessary tweaks? (which a lot of em are).

The changes are basically marginal for everybody but Guardian.

Core mesmer got tons of buffs:

  • Arcane Thievery
  • Mantra of Distraction
  • Mantra of Resolve
  • The Prestige
  • Signet of Midnight
  • Mirror Blade bounce
  • Phantasmal Defender

You can’t say that everyone got marginal changes.

Ours is whack. Who uses Moa? and Pigs? Those changes alone could be 10 different changes to our class.

Man that freaking thread did not have any changes at all.

This might be the last straw for me.

The only buff we got is: Ele’s got nerfed so druids are a bit better in PvP

Go down less? You must fight some terrible players if you’re not going down at all…A good team can focus you, and if you’re team isn’t good at peeling for you, you’ll go down eventually. This isn’t totally a L2P issue. This skill has always been OP, and it’s part of the powercreep issue. It has a 900 range AND requires at least two interrupts to stop. Another idea is to reduce the hp on it and make it easier to destroy.

I’m not asking for this skill alone to be nerfed. It’s only one skill that’s part of a greater issue of HoT skills being too powerful. Impact Strike just needs a higher CD. (60 seconds. It’s an elite for God’s sake. 40 second or less CD is too good for something that stomps that quickly and CCs TWICE, even if the skill itself is easy to interrupt.) Continuum Split is clunky and annoying to use, yet is also extremely powerful with elite skills. I could go on…

Honestly I think its bugged, I cced it 2 times with me and my pet but the stomp kept on going so.. Maybe it was glitch or idk..
