My warrior has been level 80 for many, many months and has had all trait points spent up through Grandmaster. I just now logged in (after only a few days of not playing it as I park it in Black Citadel/Plains of Ashford to run my Ascalon Kills/Events daily with it) and noticed I was running much slower than usual as I always have the trait “Warrior’s Sprint” (#3 in Discipline) activated which gives a 25% speed bonus while wielding a melee weapon. Ran with my Rifle equipped, then ran with my Greatsword equipped…no change in run speed. So I check my traits to see what the issue was and I was welcomed with not only seeing all of my trait points stripped and unspent, but that I also suddenly no longer have the Grandmaster trait line unlocked.
This is not an issue of me having never unlocked grandmaster level traits, or of my manually reseting my trait points at a trainer and forgetting. This is an issue of my Grandmaster trait line no longer being unlocked and all of my trait points being suddenly unspent. As a note, the 99 Skill Points sitting unspent are extras, I have all skills unlocked already, so this really shows that I’ve played this character a lot and obviously didn’t just forget to pick up my Grandmaster manual along the way.
I’m not looking for a Grandmaster Manual to be replaced, but if you wish to, then I would very much appreciate it, though it’s not that expensive. I just want this to be documented in case someone else has recently had the same issue and perhaps for ArenaNet to keep an eye out for a bug that would cause this.
I was unsure of whether to post this in Bugs, Technical Support, or Account Issues as it overlaps all three of these areas, but I was more certain of it being primarily a bug and one that others might have suddenly experienced as well. Even still, here is my support ticket I have filed as well as making this bug thread.

Most likely unrelated, but the only thing that changed on this character between a few days ago and tonight, is that when I logged in tonight I immediately withdrew my newly unlocked Radiant Vambraces and applied them to my gloves before setting out to knock out this daily. I had the gloves equipped at the time I dragged them into the skin application window, though that is usually not a problem when done during normal transmutation. Again, probably not related, but wanted to document it all the same.

The CTRL key sounds like it is becoming stuck. When you hold CTRL and click on a skill (or item) then that skill is linked to the chat and your skill does not fire off. Perhaps it is due to grime or other obstructing material that causes the key to activate unintentionally. You could unplug your keyboard and then pop your CTRL keys off and thoroughly clean beneath them with a tissue or cotton swab (slightly damp if there is grime) in case there is something between the key and the contact pad. Then pop the key back on and see if it solves the problem. In my experiences it has usually been either a buildup of grime/dust or a crumb from chips or something.
To pop the keys off you can use a flathead screwdriver inserted under each side (or other such objects) and tilt them to pop it up.
Additional screenshots of the issue on my human necromancer wearing the Feathered Chest. The flares at the wrists really break up the appearance of the gloves.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Screenshots of this issue. The image shows that I am clearly a Necromancer and wear light armor, but the achievement chest award screen presents me with a Heavy version of the skin to preview.
Upon accepting the Radiant gloves skin, the skin in my inventory also shows a preview of the Heavy version, thus removing my armor in the preview. The skin that is now in my Achievement Unlocks also shows the Heavy version upon trying to preview it, as well as the additional skin in my inventory that I manually withdrew from the unlock panel.
There is an issue with how finishing place is determined and displayed when granting the achievement.
This is most likely what happened.
All of these are already on Page 1 of Bugs.

There does happen to be an Anomaly with Transmutation, at times:
Although it should not matter which side you place each item:
Some items need to be placed first or on the left side of the transmutation panel.
The color of the name of the resulting item may vary depending on which item went into the left slot.
Thank you for pointing out that anomaly. I’ve never experienced any issues with transmutation so I was not aware of that as being something that happens.
I waited a little bit and restarted my game and now everything is working fine, seems kinda odd! Thanks for the tips and replies!
I’m glad it is no longer a problem for you.
Fair well.
For some reason transmutation stones have stopped working all together for me. I’ve tried using my Aetherblade armor, Zenith and Super Greatsword skin with transmutation stones and crystals with no luck. Is anyone else having this issue?
I don’t want to make an assumption that this is user error, or that it is, indeed, a bug. I do not know your history with using transmutation, so just to be clear on this, you:
One thing to note is that, if you try to include the rune/sigil of the higher level item in the transmute window, then the end product must meet the level requirements for the rune. So if you select the stats of a level 20 armor item, and you’re trying to grab the appearance of a level 80 armor item that also has a superior rune on it, then you cannot include the Superior rune in the end product as Superior runes require a level 60 armor item and you’ve selected the stats of a level 20 armor item which cannot have a Superior rune on it.

I’ve noticed that the Feathered chest armor clips with almost every other piece of glove armor. It would be really nice if this chest would hide the sleeves when equipping gloves that cover part of the arms, or at least hide the lower portion of the sleeves where they flare out at the wrists as that is where any gloves that go above the wrist see the most clipping. It is one of the most mix-n-match unfriendly chests I’ve found, which is a shame as, in my opinion, it is one of the nicest light armors in the game. Just makes me sad that I can’t also have most gloves visible while wearing it due to the non-removal of the wrist flares.

[…]so if you wanted it to be a question and add a question mark to the end, then it might end up ending in both period and a question mark.
Well, even if the character is wondering the chat will state what (s)he does. A statement never ends with a question mark.
On Topic, yes to more emotes! Some of the ones I most miss are:
/kiss
/hug
/boast
/lick
You are correct. There really isn’t any form of emote that would be in the form of a question. I was simply stating the format of what elements are added to a /emote command. I was mainly pointing out that you should not include a period (or other punctuation) at the end of your emote statement as the period is added for you, and adding punctuation at the end would result in double punctuation.
You also might be surprised to know that there are many people who chat through /emote simply because it circumvents the block feature as all emotes are displayed to those around you even if you have blocked the person emoting. You are also unable to right-click their name and report them (for whatever reason) as their name in a /emote cannot be interacted with, you would have to manually add them to your contacts list and then report them. In the past I have reported this issue several times while in-game and it was never addressed. I’ve since chosen to have emotes disabled in my chat due to this issue and cannot say whether they’ve finally corrected it or not. :\
(edited by StinVec.3621)
It will add your target’s name to your /command if you include an @
Like:
Target someone
Type /wave @
MyCharacter waves at MyTarget.
And as mentioned above with /e
/emote can’t decide if he wants pizza or spaghetti
Puts out: MyCharacter can’t decide if he wants pizza or spaghetti.
Notice I didn’t include a period in my /e statement, I believe the period at the end is added automatically, so if you wanted it to be a question and add a question mark to the end, then it might end up ending in both period and a question mark.
That is what the verification warning pop up window was for, to prevent an incorrect selection. Do not expect a verification window for the verification window, or then a verification window for the verification window for the verification window. You selected it, you verified that as being the choice you intended to make. I can only say to be sure to actually read the pop ups in the future, especially in irreversible situations such as this where the verification pop up was your preventive measure against accidentally selecting the wrong one.
I have removed the rest of my posts in this thread because an admin saw fit to delete one of my entirely on-topic posts simply because they had also removed a post that I made a brief reply to in it.
“Your post was removed because it was a reply to a post that was recently deleted.”
Good day and good luck.

I don’t know if my issue is tied to yours, but I went to Maddie first and finally beat her and got her “Woo” signature move. Then I went to Caiwyn the Corsair and found I could only use “Woo” once in the entire round. I then beat Caiwyn and have not gone to any others yet, so I can’t tell you yet if, even though I beat him and it said I got his move, that I can or cannot use it in the next battle. I’ll try to update after I test it out…but even still, can you only use a signature move a single time in the entire battle, despite the NPC using theirs back-to-back-to-back? Maddie did her “Woo” constantly and I was never able to heal myself while fighting her as you cannot drink water to regain health for 3 turns while she has her “Woo” buff on, and it was always on for her. Took me a very long time to beat her.
Don’t feel stupid It’s an honest mistake, and the selection highlighting isn’t as ‘highlighting’ as it should be.
Also, out of curiosity, did you actually receive the weapon skin you intended to unlock that you just selected and verified? Or were you given a different weapon skin unlock than you had actually selected and verified?
Also, what did you happen to unlock in your 1k chest?
(edited by StinVec.3621)
My analysis of a possible cause of this issue was based on it occurring with the 2000ap chest, not the 1000ap chest, as I did not see anyone mention which chest specifically in their posts. Due to this being clarified that it was, in fact, the 1000ap chest where people experienced the issue, my reasoning for the possible cause was based on incorrect data and is now removed.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Just as you did with the 1000 point chest, you must now select another weapon skin to unlock for your account before you can accept your selection.
So, have you selected a weapon skin in the window to unlock for your account?
Having selected a weapon skin to unlock (evident by having a glow around the selection), does your ‘accept’ button now work?
Be sure to verify your skin selection in the warning pop up so you are selecting the weapon skin unlock that you want.

Another thread delved into this issue and a work around is to pop all your karma buffs, then log out of the game or even to character select, then log back into that character. The buffs should still be on your character and they are now activated and will grant the boosts to karma, though I think karma boost food may not have been included. The thread (I’ll try to find it) did extensive testing to see what might have been causing the issue (all players…not ArenaNet) and had all the different combinations. This was the only real work around they found for it.

Mouse losing focus -right click to turn not working [Merged]
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Mouse-losing-focus-right-click-to-turn-not-working-Merged
Why it is in the “Technical Issues” forum instead of the “Bugs” forum doesn’t make sense to me. It was probably moved there by a mod so it won’t be given any attention since tech support is primarily players assisting other players. It is not a technical issue with users, it is an issue in the coding within the game, so it is a bug on their end that they need to fix, but have decided not to address. I don’t know if it is tied to graphical lag, game lag, server lag, skill lag, or any other lag that this game is suffering from, but it only gets worse with each new update to the game as well as an increase in newly affected players in the days leading up to an update. So with these two week updates, the game is always in a state of “leading up to an update” and “post-update”, so the influx will only increase each day. Several hundred more are now reporting it on here and in-game in the last week alone, on top of the tens of thousands already affected, many of whom have already quit the game/returned it/got a refund due to it being unplayable and not being addressed.
All of these are related to the same issue.
Issue: Mouse Button Loses Focus and Does Not Reacquire It
Issue: Nearby Friendly Target Being Selected Unintentionally Due To Mouse Button Losing Focus and Reacquiring It Quickly
Issue: Total Target Loss Due To Mouse Button Losing Focus and Reacquiring It Quickly Over Empty Area of the Screen
Dual monitor is another issue that has a massive thread, went through 14 pages in tech forum and couldn’t find it though…would really be nice if “Search” actually worked on here, but that, too, has been broken for over a month.
note
The massive influx of players recently reporting this issue is a sure sign that it is getting much, much worse. With the forum ‘search’ feature not working (for over a month now) to find the existing thread on this issue, I am pasting this comment into the new posts so they will participate in that thread. I am not spamming. I am informing.
Solution?: Fix the problem, dozens of threads on this issue won’t be created each day.

They look like small black splotches with a white square in it.
I never do WvW so I didn’t know what to look for so I just got that hint done from getting onto a cannon atop a wall in WvW and fired a round off, but I got the hint complete just by getting onto it I think. No trebuchet or anything, just a measly little cannon. It was also my last hint needed, so it finished that achievement for me.

I’ve only noticed it for ranger during the use of the Rampage As One elite skill. After the fire effects are around both you and your pet, there are some fragments of white at the outermost edges of the effects above the pet and your character. It is very annoying to me. I’ve reported this in-game, but have not seen any other mention of it so far on here other than your post, and it has clearly not been fixed yet :\
In the thread I linked there is a comment where a person suggested using the program ‘AutoHotKey’ and gives a little script you save for it to run.
What it does is it makes your middle mouse button (clicking the wheel in) act as a right mouse button that is always held down. Then clicking it again (or even actually hitting your right mouse button) causes it to disable. And it is only active for GW2.
I use it daily now since this issue has been so bad recently.
So I click my MMB in and it is as if I am holding my right mouse button. Then I either hit my actual RMB to disengage it or hit the MMB again. It really does help and it is not affected by the losing focus issue.
Also, I’m wondering if this issue is potentially related to the mechanics behind our cursor actually moving several pixels after we click and drag it before it actually activates as being clicked and dragged. Perhaps there is an issue with the tracking in that manner.
Well, the AutoHotKey program and this little keybinding script really is helpful as you can actually play again without this losing focus issue, though it does take a little bit of getting used to. You can also define what button you may prefer instead of the middle mouse button. Mostly just need to look at what the program refers to the key you want to use as and replace “MButton” in the script with the designation for the key you want.
Can also give more help if anyone chooses to give this a try and needs a hand.

While running in “Fullscreen” mode, just open your options and boost your Gamma setting…no more darkness; it actually highlights edges of platforms also.
For “Windowed Fullscreen” users, you can boost your gamma in other ways, like your Catalyst settings, nvidia settings, or even with the buttons on your monitor.

Just glanced through and saw that there are several dozen off the top of my head that are not listed. I expect around 3000 would be a more accurate number of existing bugs, but there actually being double that amount would not surprise me at all; there are many that are getting worse that are now breaking other elements of the game, as well as even more being created with each content update that are not fixed before the next content update.
This is what good armor-sets should look like for me (especially the Rogue-sets, very different theme though):
Nice video. I like some of those a lot.
Oh, and hey, look … capes without clipping. -_-
When I first saw their announcement on my FB this past Wednesday (July 3rd), they had 913,xxx likes. I just checked (July 7th) and they are at 933,206. That’s roughly 20,000 new likes in 4 days. They should hit 1 million before the end of the month.
Just wait until diminishing returns kicks in.
Ah yes, an old “classic”. Putting the jewels in bound them without saying so…
It does say so.
Attempting to place an upgrade into the upgrade slot of an item does display a big warning to you that doing so will make the item Soulbound to your character. So not much to do other than be sure to read pop-up warnings thoroughly in the future and not just skip over them and say yes without reading them.
The “bug” in this issue is that, after applying the upgrade and thus making it Soulbound, the info on the item doesn’t change from “Soulbound On Use” to showing it as now being “Soulbound”.
However, some have reported that, after applying the upgrade, the item is actually “Account Bound” at that point, and that the bug is that those words are not added to the item, and the warning should actually say it will make the item “Account Bound”. I have not tested this out myself, but it does make sense since, after being warned that applying an upgrade will make it soulbound to you, attempting to equip it with the upgrade applied gives you another warning saying that equipping it will make it soulbound to that character.
So, first warning should read:
“Applying this upgrade will cause the item to become bound to your account.”
Applying the upgrade should cause the item info to read:
Account Bound
Soulbound On use
Attempting to equip the upgraded, account bound item would give the warning:
“Equipping this account bound item will cause it to become soulbound.”
And then having equipped it, the info should read as:
Soulbound
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Considering it was poorly implemented and it could only be purchased as a full set (many wanted just one or two pieces, or even a bunch of one or two pieces), I don’t expect sales were as great as they could have been. (see my sig for a suggestion for ArenaNet and feel free to comment)
I bought one heavy set and am using only 2 pieces of it on a warrior alt that I rarely play any more (due to recent pvp changes that broke skills there and in pve). So perhaps, as with my case, people that did purchase the skins used them on a lesser-played alt and not on a character they play often.
However, I have actually seen several Asura out and about in the full heavy sets on Eredon Terrace, as well as a few players with a single piece or two mixed into their character’s styles.
My mistake! I made a tree spirit for the Heart of the Terebinth and must have inadvertently swapped all the normal oakhearts with the spirit version. :P
I’m curious as to why the error of incorrect models being displayed has not been corrected yet, considering there have been 6 updates to the game since the issue was first reported and also since you yourself responded stating you knew exactly what caused it to happen 11 days ago?
I also agree with some of the above posters in that I, too, like seeing the small Spirit Oakhearts, but would prefer it to be only a portion of them and not all of them, as I enjoy the majestic nature of the originally designed, larger Oakhearts as well.
Not a technical issue… just….didn’t know/couldn’t find a better place to post:
I have tried fruitlessly and have searched for a mechanic that works but have not found anything.
When searching for content on the forums…
I have tried using the “search the forums” bar on the right side of the top of the webpage w/ very little success. I search for terms I KNOW would get results only to get, “No Results, Try a different search term”; or very very few posts when there should be a plethora.
I know there HAS to be a way for people to search the forums efficiently and effectively… plz helpThankYou,

go to the forum you want to search in (or https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/ for all forums) and type in the search box, and hit enter.

Unfortunately for us, the forum’s ‘Search’ “feature” still does not function at all and hasn’t for over a month. It is an ongoing issue that has not been resolved and forum support has stopped responding to pleas to fix the issue.

This is in no way a fix for this bug, but it may make the issue stop happening.
Are you running in ‘Fullscreen’ mode or ‘Windowed Fullscreen’ mode?
I think some of the overlays in the UI are treated differently in ‘Fullscreen’ than they are in ‘Windowed Fullscreen’. While running ‘Windowed Fullscreen’ you should be able to alt+tab (or hit the ‘Windows’ key and then select another application) without problem as the game does not have to minimize as it does in ‘Fullscreen’ mode when alt+tabbing, which might be causing some elements of the UI to not properly display again once you return to the game.
Also, AIMP media player has a full interface similar to Winamp (and tabbed playlists), but also has a mini transparent interface that sits on top of GW2 so you do not need to tab out or bind shortcut keys to your media player to switch tracks from within GW2.
Agreed.
After my pet dies (or even while the existing pet was still alive) and I swap to my alternate pet, despite my spamming F1 for it to attack it will not ‘follow my order’ to attack for 3-4 seconds. Also, for those 3-4 seconds, even if it is taking damage in an AoE, it will not attack the enemy causing it damage until it has ‘acclimated itself to the world’, or whatever.
After last major patch i keep loosing enemy targets and get a random friendly target instead. This is happening when i try to move my camera (mouse right click pressed) without actually clicking on any other friendly player. If there is no other friendly player around, my target just deselect randomly.
Worked very well before, and by talking with other players seems a lots have same problem, but i didn’t found any thread about this.

Hi. All of these are related to the same issue.
Issue: Mouse Button Loses Focus and Does Not Reacquire It
Most of the time that this issue is present (it is inconsistent), the mouse actually loses focus and never reacquires it, which prevents character and camera orientation with the right mouse button and leaves the game in a completely unplayable state. Some days it is very bad and prevents you from even being able to play, other times it is only a couple times a minutes, but leads to frustration and not playing the game the rest of that day.
Issue: Nearby Friendly Target Being Selected Unintentionally Due To Mouse Button Losing Focus and Reacquiring It Quickly
The recently added option to ‘Disable Right-click Targeting’ has helped with the linked issue of randomly selecting a nearby friendly target while moving your camera with the right mouse button.
This happens because the mouse tracking has an issue to where the game reads you as releasing the mouse button (despite your having never released it) and then re-‘clicks’ the button down quickly. Due to this issue, if your cursor was over/near another friendly, then they become your new target as if you had intentionally clicked on them to select them.
Issue: Total Target Loss Due To Mouse Button Losing Focus and Reacquiring It Quickly Over Empty Area of the Screen
However, disabling right-click targeting and interaction has simply made the issue of a new target stop happening, the issue of losing your target due to the glitch in mouse focus persists. Now we just have target loss due to the quick un-click and re-click of the right mouse button over an empty area of the screen which deselects the current target; instead of both target loss and random friendly selection.

Didn’t see any posts for this, so pardon if it’s a repost. For the past week, myself and at least one guild mate of mine have been having issues with holding down the right mouse button to move the camera. It keeps on losing it’s “held-down” state, but then suddenly decides that it’s still held down and considers it a right click. So for example, I could be running around with the button held down, moving the camera, then suddenly it registers as not being held down (while the mouse button is in fact still held down), so then my mouse cursor starts to move across the screen instead of the camera moving. Then before I can even notice this, it’ll re-register as being held down, and act as a click-to-hold, which means if the cursor moves over the party list while I’m trying to move the camera, it’ll open up the party menu, and on more then one ocassion has caused me to accidently kick a party member. This issue is making it very frustrating to play, and almost impossible to play WvW because I can’t move the camera fast enough (because half the time it says the mouse isn’t clicked when it is).
Edit: Not sure if related, but we are both using Logitech mice. I tried my touchpad and that didn’t have an issue with right click, but seeing as I didn’t have an issue with my mouse before, I’m wondering if maybe a recent patch introduced imperfect hardware compatibility with certain mice?

I find it humorous that the dialogue in that picture still has the typo in it 10 months later.
“the” instead of “they”
They say they fixed Claw of Jormag today. Not sure on their reasons for total silence on the Whisper’s armor issue, considering it has happened several times in the past and was fixed quickly and easily.

“Frostgorge Sound – Fixed a bug that caused the Claw of Jormag to heal completely during the second half of the event to kill him.”
I find it odd that the previous times this has occurred ArenaNet was quick to acknowledge and fix it. This time only a single “This will be looked at” comment 6 days ago and then not one single word on the issue since, let alone a silent fix for it. They should know what has caused it since it has happened before and they’ve fixed it before…twice. So what is so different this time that they can’t and are also remaining totally silent on the issue?
The majority of the comments in this thread make me even more disappointed in and ashamed to be part of the human race. Lost a lot of hope for our species today.
If you’re playing for gear, the would have less than a weeks worth of content.
You’re fully geared, great! Now just enjoy the game. Come back every two weeks to play the new content patch. Maybe earn some snazy outfit in what amounts to the most time consuming dress up doll game on the internet.
At this time….This ^ sadly
That may not be ‘fun’ to you, and that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Outfitting characters to then romp around the open world with is primarily why I enjoy this game, I just wish there were more frequent releases of new armor styles.
Call it “dress up” (in a bad way) if you want, but if you don’t like it then nobody is forcing you to stick around. I do like it, so I am sticking around.
They say they fixed that today.

As a player around the top 500 NA in achievement points, I absolutely agree that dailies/monthlies shouldn’t count for achievement score. Dailies and monthlies pollute the achievement score with points that really don’t say anything about one’s achievements, but speak more to the volume of hours spent in-game.
This smells like elitism to me, and elitism is bad.
Everyone should be allowed to get content; the most skilled get it earlier, while the least skilled after longer.
Therefore, every achievement point has to count in.
Agreed.
I have over 1700 hours played (very little a-f-k time in there) from day 1 of live and I only have about 4700 achievement points currently from Open World PvE. Simply because I do not enjoy PvP, WvW or ‘dungeons’ in this game (and that’s where most people with tons of achievement points have gotten them from) I would be included amongst those who these elitists say should not get the achievement points we’ve EARNED from doing dailies simply because we didn’t get them doing the content that THEY got them from. We all earned each and every one of our achievement points, so mind coming down from up there? We’re all players, we all enjoy different aspects of the game and we’ve all been awarded points for doing the content that each of us has completed/taken part in/enjoyed. No content is more worthy of the alloted points than any other content.
