Id be all for it. Once youre more than like, 16 years old, you realize that $15 a month for something you can easily play for 20+ hours a week is nothing compared to other things you can spend your money on.
But since like, half the playerbase is 16 (or acts like they are), it wouldnt work, so i dont think it will ever happen.
And once you’re more than 22~24 years old and paying off your student loans, bills, taxes, providing for the filthy parasi-I mean, adorable baby, having one less monthly bill is a welcome thing.
Unless you’re clinging to a bachelor lifestyle or suffering from a sudden abundance of wealth, that is.
I think these are social and political issues that extend far beyond a sub/no sub debate.
Why exactly are you and your family being made to struggle to survive, when 1% of the population own almost all the money in the world?
You’re not so much derailing the thread as launching the whole train into space…
If druid is spirit based or transformation based, I’m not going to play it. I’m not interested in more AI or wonky transformations. I’m looking for support/aoe damage in our specialization.
I believe they have stated that the specializations are just refinements or additions to the classes. Not entire reworks of the class.
It’s the reason I think it will feature a lot of AoE damage/cc or party support as those are the two area we really suffer from compared to other classes.
In this case the lowest hanging fruit works to our advantage.
I never will understand the appeal of the Largos. They look like a deviantart Original Species™. “Blues wings and masks! I look so unique”!
Add on the whole “Race of master assassins! So edgy!!!” for the finishing touch…
Sounds like you are pretty rough on your mice.
My speculation would be a trade of Nature Magic into druidism.
I’m gonna guess Marksmanship.
It’s the only one revolving around a specific weapon and the staff could easily be a 1200 range weapon making replacing a similar long range weapon easy.
Id be all for it. Once youre more than like, 16 years old, you realize that $15 a month for something you can easily play for 20+ hours a week is nothing compared to other things you can spend your money on.

lulwut?
People unwilling to HAVE to pay $15 a month for a game whose endgame is collecting equipment skins has a lot more to do with the fact that GW2 isn’t designed for a sub fee and nothing to do with “maturity”.
How are you measuring the severity? I’m still able to do level 49 fractals on my Ranger (don’t have enough AR for 50 >_>)
We also have zero clue what the codebase looks like. Depending on the cause of the issue, it could be more complicated.
Sometimes bugs uncover something that was done very poorly by a previous programmer. These events suck time like a hoover.
It’s not game breaking but it is AI breaking. That is severe in a game. It’s taken them weeks to figure out what happened and fix it while making sure they didn’t break anything else.
What’s even more serious is it likely happened as a byproduct of a completely different alteration. If they don’t nail down what broke pets, it could happen again in a different way to more important mobs which is a HUGE deal with a big ol’ expack coming.
And no, for killing mindless pve mobs, it isn’t a big deal. It is a big deal when I have to basically go back to pretending the pet doesn’t exist in WvW now that it runs right into 20 necro wells and instantly dies the second I get into combat regardless of what I set it to while I’m busy trying to avoid static fields and hammer stuns.

Running speed directly affected by number of empty inventory slots please.
You referring the the “encumbered” state? (As used in Skyrim and Fallout for example" )
Might be an idea
This is the kind of mechanism that adds 0 enjoyment and only serves to punish players for playing “too much” in the same vein as silly weapon durability meters.
I don’t know, have people estranged from nature so much, that they don’t know how mooses are running.
I saw this kind of incorret things from moose minipet:
- Minipet moose is running like deer and it have short legs
- Mooses can trot and run wild
- Mooses can not be jumpy
- Mooses have long legs.
This only makes me think, that designer who have implement this mini moose not ever seen real moose.
Here is link where moose is running in water:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYlZmV6fvn8
It’s pretty obvious that they used the same rig and animation set as the deer for the moose.
Please MR. Peters, some communication please!!!!!!!!! What’s the status?
Good Luck with that.
I got this!
clears throat
When it’s ready.
Seriously though, I don’t think people understand that ANet has internal deadlines they don’t share, in case something occurs to make it not ready by that deadline, because try telling a gaming community the fix isn’t ready yet even though they aimed for a deadline and watch everybody lose their kitten because gamer entitlement > logic.
Also, I don’t think people realize that ANet probably has extremely set time frames that they can access the live servers and make changes to it, and that since they promised an “always online” game, the fixes might be done, but have to go into scheduled patches in order to remain true to the idea that the game will never go offline unless emergency crisis mode for maintenance to fix something like introduced bugs.
Not that I’m directing any of this at you Sticker, I’m just piggybacking
lulwut? They have hot fixes for things much less severe than this all the time.
Just get a paypal account.
It is paid with paypal.
Then you must be doing something wrong because I only ever get charged the flat $10 amount for 800gems.
And that’ in good ol’ Cook County Ill with sales tax so high you’d think our roads were paved with gold rather than just potholes and tears.
Just get a paypal account.
If a warrior has no adrenaline, they have no class mechanic to use. If a Mesmer has no Illusions to shatter or attack, they have no class mechanic, if a necro uses up his life force, he has no class mechanic, if a thief uses steal, until the recharge he has no class mechanic, if a guard uses up his virtues, he has no class mechanic. If a Ranger allows his pet to be killed before swapping or otherwise, he has no class mechanic, there does have to be some risk. It’s not like we need to enter combat and build up a resource (like adrenaline, clones, life force etc) in order to use our class mechanic, we can just order it to attack from the get go.
Sure, our traits need some work, like EB for sure needs another +ve effect for the pet too, like shortened condi duration or resistance. And Shared Anguish needs to be looked at in the light of all the other classes similar traits. Also, the CD on pet death should be shortened for sure by 20%, but that doesn’t mean we should get a whole bunch of traits for free. Fixing our traits serves the same purpose.
Sure, they could do it too, like other games, but that balancing would require less trait points for the actual ranger, or nerfing of our traits to suit. Fact is, that if pet traits were removed to their own build it would still remove as much from the ranger as it does now. Not only that, but it adds a level of complexity not needed and requires an entire re-code of the ranger trait system. It’s a nice idea, its just never going to happen. I wouldn’t really want it to myself, I just want to be able to set the stats. If they gave us a free adept trait as a ‘Training’ Specialisation for the pet, I would be over the moon.
As I said no other class can their mechanic be disabled for 60 seconds = 30% less damage and a Useless GM trait for that matter.
No other classes have to rely on barely passable AI that can’t attack/act and move at the same time for their mechanic either…
Melandru’s would look amazing and is a good idea with Druids coming and a whole race of plant people.
Where exactly should the first people who bought this mini do their research before they buy?
The hero panel? No mini there.
A tiny picture on dulfy? If research is impossible before they purchased it then your post makes no sense.
If nobody can get a clear look at the mini without someone first buying it, then whoever first does needs to understand and accept the risk of buying something blindly, which includes accepting whatever condition it is in. Everyone else past that can gather and share information from the first wave of buyers.
The first wave accepts the risk of buying it blindly, and it is pointless to complain about what it is they’ve bought because they didn’t have to buy it and could have waited to be in the next wave of potential buyers. After the first wave, there is no longer an excuse for anyone who buys the mini to complain about not knowing what condition it was in, since they could have asked around in-game to find anyone else who had bought it first and had plenty of time to figure out what they would get.
This shouldn’t even be a thing.
Not letting us see what we are buying before we buy it is incredibly shady, especially for something we can’t get a refund on.
Kind of shows a lack of confidence in the product, or a hope that lots of people will buy it before the general population realizes its a low quality product.
I feel like this is more of a glitch or oversight on their part rather than a “Haha, gotcha!” attempt. Up until recently they have been very good about getting finishers and minis into the preview panel the day they are released.
Now, if we have another one or two releases where this happens again, I’ll be inclined to think they are doing it on purpose…
Is this really how ANet does things?.. I would have much rather bought the Mini’s in a pack from the gemstore instead.
And now you’ve given them that much more encouragement not to bring them back as the gem store packs they originally were by spending ~30x what you would have.
Good Job…
Just make it stationary, 3/4 of the QQ are because they can chase you down while firing, any Ranger with a shred of skill won’t be affected by this. Now if your one of the baddies who believes RF is the be all end all of Ranger and this would ruin the class you can kindly kitten off and go kittenize another class.
Clearly someone who doesn’t play WvW…
The obvious “Solution of Rapid Fire whinefest” is for people to “gitgud” and stop making ‘solutions’ to a non-existent problem.
I mean, reduce cool down and increase cast time? So it looks like we are never not rapid firing? Yes, I’m sure that will reduce the complaining…
If rapid fire was so kitten OP zergs would be 50% rangers (by design, not because pugs love ranger) and the top ladder matches would be full of them. Neither is true and everyone here knows this…
(edited by Substance E.4852)
I guess my point is that there wouldn’t be so many unhappy frustrated people posting on the forums if ANet communicated more clearly. And ANet is completely missing out on a chance for the internet to see them working hard to communicate with their players, which would vastly improve their reputation as a company.
How many unhappy posts are in regards to being upset with being kept in the dark with no communication or information? Now imagine the forums without all those posts because ANet finally decided to communicate.
Now…doesn’t that make the forums a happier place? :-)
But thats just the thing.
During release and the time after that they WERE communicating more. And yet there were still just as much people complaining and attacking them on every turn, thus they decreased the communication, in order to avoid having to spend time feeling bad about people attacking them (and yes, many attacks were directed towards specific members of the team).
And yet it has done absolute nothing but destroy the dialogue between the team and players, give a massive image of ennui to player issues, and a general sense of non existent customer relations.
Whatever they though this was going to help, it hasn’t done…
All of you saying its fine, kitten. how is 1800 range, 2-3k auto attack, with rapid fire channel through stealth fair????!?!?!?!?!?
Pfft people make me sick.
And yes it is 1800, even 2100 if used on upper groundSeriously, play one while solo queing in SPVP , or roam in T1 wvw server “SOLO” before you say anything. Pretty sure any decent players and their mom know how to fight power ranger.
(BTW, even in zerg fight, ranger does next to nothing during big scale zerg fight. You can have 1800 range, yet you’re still contributing nothing)Newbies these days…
tell that to the Dragonbrand zerg i melted in wich i got 122 kills
2000 range+ piercing arrows is ridiculous i dont know about you but i auto around 2900-3600 per shot #2= 8k-13k damage
what Valid justification can you come with for ranger needing 2000 range when others have at tops 1200 ?
lol probably explains why dragonbrand is T2 then.
Come to T1 where people run real zerg builds and not zerk with a side of zerk and see how many you “melt”.
Also, tagging =/= killing. If you really want to claim you reduced 122 people from 100% hp to 0 hp single handily we’d like some video evidence.
All for the idea but it will be an uphill battle given that Anet is monetarily incentivized to force us to fill our bags/banks up with junk.
There is no legal obligation to be inteligent.
lol and there’s no legal obligation for Anet to give a refund either.
To complain and refund is the basic right of the unsatisfied customer.
To investigate and be informed is the duty of the intelligent consumer.
The word “black” is in the name and there are 0 dye-able back items.
Because there isnt any content in the game that requires proper combo/field use in the game.
There used to be but then Anet decided bypassing invulnerability on WvW camp npc’s with life steal wasn’t kosher and, well…
Windows isn’t the most used desktop OS just because of video games but also because of how it works.
It’s not because of how it works, it’s because it’s pre-installed on new computers. If tomorrow every vendor would start selling PCs with Linux, do you think everyone would grab a Windows box from a store shelf and install it? Most would just stay with Linux.
Look at the smartphone market. 90% of smartphones in the world run on Android (Linux), because it’s pre-installed.
Pretty sure most would return the PC’s and just get a Mac in that scenario.
And the phone argument is absurd. People use the OS on their phone because changing it is an incredibly complicated process that requires custom made jail breaks or new OS’s. Even Cyanogen takes a while before a stable is ready for a device and not every device even gets that far, if any version at all.
Hell the vast majority of people love anything Apple makes and those of us who use Android only use Cyanogen because it’s better than the crap custom skinned versions so many companies fart out.

Wonder how much of the salt in this thread is just thinly veiled “I missed my chance at the wings so if I can’t have them than no one should”
From Guild Wars 1.
That is all.From GW1.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Pyre_Fierceshot.jpg
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Bonwor_Fierceblade.jpg
That is all.
My point was, charr can stand up straight if they want to. There is no physical limitation preventing them from standing straight as people tend to believe.
I’m not saying they will or should, all I’m saying is it’s possible.
This is fiction. Everything’s as possible as Anet wants it to be. If suddenly every Charrs’ legs fell off and they sprouted squid tentacles and wiggled around because of “reasons” that would be the reality of the game world no matter how absurd it would seem.
I do enjoy the “science says it can/can’t work” arguments in a game with sentient, thinking plants, undead, and lava monsters though…
I advocate and will always advocate for challenge: I will never advocate for no challenge. Having maximum advantage with no or almost no effort, no risk, no consequence and less penalty is instant fail to fun.
Lb requires full glass with little to no skills or traits devoted to survival. Even a glass melee ranger can wreck them against all but the best LB players.
Glass ranger is the one build that requires the absolute most skill to make work. Your understanding of risk vs reward and “effort” is so skewed I can’t really get a gauge of what you really think balance even is.
Same as now but with collision turned way to the other end so the camera will stop zooming up my toons butt any time I come within 20 feet of an object.
I was imagining some sort of armor sets where the legs had a theme. Fire legs, ice legs….
Anet’s April Fools 2015 joke. Announce an early release of the precursor crafting system only to mail everyone a pair of flaming pants instead…
Not to throw a cow made of Unobtanium with infinite mass in front of the hype train or anything but this IS Anet here.
At this point the only things set in stone are the things that load up when the xpack goes live.
Anyone remember when we could be nigh invincible underwater because of this?
You still can be. I’ve downed people at starting at 50% health who just didn’t attack the pet while I flung dozens of daggers at them.
Could always take a light armor class and go farm Large Ritual Bags in Fireheart Rise if you want more silk in the economy.
Easier to just WvW. T1 provides an overabundance of silk.
Sadly the doors of EotM drop nothing, silk or otherwise….
Glacial stones used to be valuable when people wanted corrupted weapons. Then people figured out how to farm the Claw adds, the weapons fell out of vogue and the prices plummeted.
Charged are just plain hard to get and Anet, in their infinite “generosity” decided to lock several amazing skins behind absurd amounts of them.
Most of the other weapons that use lodestones don’t need nearly as many as the charged weapons do.
It’s the same reason Giant Eye’s are so kitten expensive.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
Any sword design that looks like I can stab someone with it is preferable.
Please reassign who ever keeps designing these craptacular paddle swords and let them make the maces since they love blobby weapons you’d need to bludgeon someone with to do any damage.
That, or just give us land canoe mounts and be done with it.
If my entertainment hours fell like they’ve been hijacked by game designers more interested in putting sweat shop tasks before me of the most unfun variety, such as having to either farm for thousands of hours with no actual guarantee of getting anything I wanted out of it?
I won’t do it. I will be unhappy because I could not get the thing I wanted in a fashion I found reasonable. Unhappy me is far more likely to look for something else to do where I can do the sort of things I like.
Sadly, there aren’t enough of us who play MMOs who think this way. Far too many that would simply rather sit and do completely tedious, mindless, repetitive actions for pixels they don’t even legally own all while paying for the privilege to do so…
GW2 forums spazzing out? Must be a Monday…
Actually here it’s Tuesday, 9am in fact.
The future says hi.
The only time that matters is the time…
GW2 forums spazzing out? Must be a Monday…
These armor skirts are actually the realistic version.
Basically: its hard to armor a crotch without being uncomfortable.
So they wear lightly or unarmored pants and wear this “skirt” to protect the crotch. There are gremlins that build flying pyramids, but making a chainmail crotch is too tall of an order.
Some things are just beyond the capabilities of lowly mortals. Plus, do you want holes in the crotch armor for like acid breath or whatever to get through? Didn’t think so…
you know why?
because that’s what Anet has always done in the past:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Warrior_armorThe fact that the whole page looks exact the same shows a lack of design. Designs, in my opinion, should be far wider and grand to accommodate player preferences. These slight derivatives of a single look doesn’t give much to players to enjoy at all.
It’s liek they took all the people who made heavy armor in GW1 and put them on the medium armor team in GW2.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
Please don’t add capes. I don’t want to see a cape with a head on top.
Then don’t use them?
I hope they will change our class mechanism
They will add a new class mechanic for each specialisation, yes so don’t worry :P
EDIT: or thoroughly change the existing ones, I forget which…
Druids are just as big into ‘Animal Companions’ as Rangers in most games; often more so. I really wouldn’t hold your breathes.
I’d bet money on the only reason the attack has the leap in the first place is because ANet designed the attack animations and needed the leap on it to make it look good.
Didn’t “Kick” use to knock back the target a bit during early beta? Might be why we leap forward constantly.
Sounds like an error in level design that caused the cart to be categorized as a restrictor to movement but not an actual object for the purposes of obstructing line of sight.
I mess around a lot with zerk/soldier 62006 GS-S/A with crippling hawk/eagle. I’m pretty kitten at spvp but it’s still a fun build to play.
I will buy the collectors edition with the caithe figure … sad that it isn’t logan. ( yes caithe figure is speculation, cause rytlock already exists)
It’ll be a Scarlet figure in her ugly helmet. Sorry…
Of course I will buy it. I don’t understand people who think 30$+ for an expansion is expensive. WoW:WoD is 44.95$ and that game has a freaking sub fee on top.
And EvE Online gives them away for absolutely free.
Whodathunk there were otehr MMO’s than WoW?
Maybe ™ we will Soon ™ see it In the Works ™, In the Near Future ™
I doubt they could go over everything being added even if they reserved the entire day.
lulwut? It’s an expansion pack, not an entirely new game.
This is the fuel that powers the hype train. May it ever have no breaks…
No, I can’t say I will till I see a few things
1. More info, most of the stuff I cared about was vague at best and as of now I still have no interest in actively playing again. I need more details.
2. I need to see a price. Right now, the expansion sounds small, and I need to know if that price will reflect that before I decide I’m gonna buy it. $20-$30? Sure, I’ll be willing to take a dive. Anything above that however? Absolutely not.
3. I want to see stuff that has been bugged since launch either finally fixed before or with the launch of the expansion.
It will, almost surely, be a full-priced expansion.
Good luck finding a new game ^^
I can’t see it being over $25-30 (depending on region). They seem like they are laying a lot of groundwork for further growth, but it doesn’t seem like the amount of stuff in the pack (what we have been shown) is going to justify a price tag that rivals the cost of the base game. It’d be a huge xbox180 given Anet’s previous derision for fracturing the player base and considering how many people here seem tremendously entitled to “free” content in a game that has no sub fee.
You could season the world’s largest pretzel with the salt generated by the community here any time they simply add an item to the gem store.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
Can’t understand the hype about staff. If u want to use a staff, play some other class. What’s the thing about being druid? Mesmer with medium armour?
Because it’s something that isn’t “sword gymnast” or “automated arrow dispenser”. Rangers are in absolutely dire need of good group utility and aoe damage/CC. Staff is the mostly logical weapon to allow us to build for that.
Anything that gives us a new way to play the class after over 2 years is always a good thing.
