Welcome to the rewards imbalance. We have ask and ask but are not able to get a reply based to why the wvw badge weapons are treated like karma weapons. It was not as annoying until the recent wardrobe change at least before then we could transfer expensive upgrades

Guardian hammer skill five

in Guardian

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

I love running hammer in wvw and spvp. My main complaints with the weapon is that it is slow and that skill five roots us in place.

I doubt anet will speed the AA chain up. But maybe a change to hammer five?

I frequently will select judges intervention to blink after a retreating foe. Does anyone think it would be to overpowered to add a secondary function to hammer five that would allow us to shadow step if we hit five again while casting hammer five. Anet could treat it like our torch and add an extended cool down if we are forced to shadow step secondary function otherwise it would just activate as normal. Thoughts?

[Suggestion]Unlockable stats on ascended gear

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

I’m the guy who suggested swappable stats on Legendaries in the first place.
I don’t play any more for numerous reasons.

However, I honestly think changeable stats should be rolled out to all gear.
It’s a gameplay mechanic and a way to streamline and enhance the user experience.
Commodifying such things is one of the major reasons I stopped playing this game.

Putting barriers in the way of the optimal experience is monumentally stupid and short-sighted game design.

So when we log in for the very first time we should all be given free weapons and armor with maximum stats and stat swaps. This way everyone is equal. Then we can all do nothing all day but stand there and talk.

I doubt you were the very first even if you were it doesn’t make you right. This game I’d already the easiest game in existence. Even ascended weapons are easier to get then they should be.

I have way more ascended weapons then I do legendary ones. And even though this would make my own life so much easier I am against it. This isn’t the first of these entitlement threads and it will not be the last. But this will be my last time responding to this one.

The only option outside of the RNG I would support is to get one Fractals weapon skin of your choice when you complete a level 50 for the first time with personal rewards level 50.

I have put to many hours into farming for the skins I want to see them just be turned into Vendor weapons like we have for the other dungeons.

There is no player to player because anet wants to avoid scams and other issues. Like chat spam etc.

It has been stated by developers that they have no plans to add it.

I would not trade through the mail unless you know the person because if they don’t send the item or gold you out of luck. Anet might ban them for scamming. But you won’t get your stuff back.

Congratss on the drop though.

Vote For Two Handed Axes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Talyn.3295

This has been discussed before. No one is directly opposed of new weapons. Although the best use or skills are always a debate. However anet doesn’t seem to like voting or petition based threads (petition threads being against the tos) so rather then asking people to vote for the weapon perhaps a discussion on the need or roles of the weapon would be more productive.

Talyn.3295

My only comment to all this is WHY would you want to play this game if you don’t like the current combat system? Trying to make this game into something else means you SHOULD be playing another game (not trying to get this one modified for YOUR desire for another game).

I’ve got no problem with the mod as long as Anet doesn’t care (and your assumption that they do not based on your interpretation of the mod rules is a big one, IMO). My issue with this request is that the resources required to put this in place are taken away from something else and I am NOT for that tradeoff.

Never could understand the need to use all caps on random words.

But that aside the combat camera in this game is a huge inconvenience. Targeting and trying to click on foes in a mass of particles is trying at best. Add in that the mouse icon tends to get lost in the confusion it can be more frustrating.

While I can respect that you want to have resources placed elsewhere that doesn’t change that this is one way of addressing camera and mouse targeting issues that many players complain about.

Ally targeting skill

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

The targeting in this game is terrible (compared to say, GW1). Anything that involves more use of the bad targeting system shouldn’t even be considered, until the targeting system is addressed. Unfortunately, with the way the game is designed, I don’t think targeting can be fixed…

Yes the target system is perhaps the worst part of the game. Either we click what we don’t want to or we lose the pointer in all the effects. Skills that target party members are just better off under the mass blanket we have now. Even if target system is fixed I would still prefer skills that give boons to the whole group like shouts or blast to individual target skills

Think of it like this. In WvW we use some pretty expensive foods. All it would take is one troll running in the zerg shooting this birthday buff out and causing us to lose the effects of the food we want to be using in place of that given by the buff. Its got to be working as Intended.

Provides some great all around builds for any dungeon, and other areas. If your running with Pugs I would suggest the fractal hammer build. Most Pugs won’t be blasting firefields anyway. However before you go all auto attack crazy make sure that the Ele isn’t dropping fire fields or something similar that can lead to upset Pugs and well all know how that road can go.

Why are "elitists" viewed as the evil ones?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

Honestly, Obtena, do you really take a moment to think of what you’re doing? Suggesting it’s inappropriate to choose who a said player will play with, or not (PUG or not, who cares)? Suggesting that your idea of a PUG should be accepted by others for no reason other than your own desire? Suggesting that players go out of their way to help others who won’t even ask what’s in a LFG sign they don’t understand?

That’s what you think I’m suggesting? Let me clear something up here. I’m all for choosing who you want to play with. I’m all for people playing how they want (because if they aren’t, their head isn’t screwed on right). I’m all for tolerance and education. What does that mean?

Play with who you want to, but be responsible and smart about it. Setting a LFG message, expecting people to abide and washing your hands of the responsibilities of ensuring your in a team you want makes no sense. That LFG message doesn’t dissolve anyone of the need for the same checks that were done BEFORE LFG was implemented. I think it’s MORE necessary now than ever because yes, I doubt many people will ask about the LFG message if they don’t understand, care or know. Even if they ask, what does someone tell them? Come to this subforum for information? It’s and interesting stance to blame someone for not asking, but if there isn’t any place to direct them to, it’s meaningless.

I don’t think the message has changed, just because there is a new way to make a team: If there is a requirement to play with certain people, it’s up to the person/people with those requirements to find them.

It also means that if players have special requirements to higher performing teams, they need to educate people on what that means and how to do it. The toxic approach taken in the Guardian forums to do that over a year ago was a failure. Renewed efforts are better; we have DPS guides now in may profession forums, they are extremely useful.

I find it sad that you feel the zerker community is the problem. When in most instances we stick to our own. Create our own groups and seldom if ever join groups that we don’t meet the requirements for.

It is as if you expect the LFG tool to be there for everyone in the game but us. Because we put “Unreasonable restrictions”, when we use it to find four like minded people to play with.

Casual players don’t need a “White Knight” they can complete the same content we can by joining their own groups.
