90% of everyone using celestial ammy’s. Ele and engineer on every single team, no mesmers, the only warrior played was a shoutbow (imagine that) and EVERYONE was running sustain builds.
Celestial Amulet needs to be boosted.
Abjured being rekt 115 to 500 is a solid proof.
Besides the comeback (which would be exciting in any game) the game was just as dull to watch as it is to play in sPvP. Everyone playing 100% safe builds with no haymakers and a ton of conditions.
Everyone can play whatever build they want. No one stops them from playing zerk builds or any other.
Where are the combined ability techniques we saw in the trailers when we bought the game? Why has warrior gone from the most versatile profession to being pigeonholed into an extremely dull support role?
You’re talking about Combo Fields?
Field + Blast = Combo
And yet till today, after 2 years, barely 10% of whole community know how to use them. Matter of l2p and use in action.
And Combo fields should be optional as they are now, not mandatory or OP in any kind.
The lack of diversity here is absolutely astonishing. It’s become no different from any other MMO- i was watching what people consider the best in the world do repetitive skill rotations. Does shoutbow or ele REALLY care about whats happening? It’s gone from being important to dodge, to completely abysmal.
So far, you have much wider diversity here than other MMOs. And “Meta” isn’t the best or a must.
Lets not forget that torches in general, rifle warriors, and summon necros are completely out of the picture from the game entirely, and that mesmers are an absolute mess of a profession with no actual purpose. Why are rangers more adept at fighting like a warrior than warrior? (6 second invulnerability? What the actual Fk?)
Torches in general?
Say it to PU Mesmer.
Say it to Condi Ranger.
Or Guardian.
Rifle? Today with guild we trolled blobs in wvw with Kill Shots. As it hits there for 15k+, it easily spanks for 9k in arena.
How rangers are more adept in fighting than a warrior? Signet of stone doesn’t give invulnerability, it work the same as Endure Pain(Warrior’s Stance).
And Mesmer has no purpose just like Guardian. Useless classes.
“Passive: Improves toughness for you and your pet.
Active: You and your pet takes no damage from attacks. You and your pet are still susceptible to conditions and control effects.
I hope the expansion breathes new life into this game as it’s currently a complete bore fest.
I advise to start learning game mechanics, skills, traits, passives etc anew.
It should be entertaining till expansion’s release.
True.
Abjured can get rekt <87 – 500 :v
I think it’s time to settle this down.
I believe every NA player now, will agree with me that Celestial Amulet need to be boosted by +100 points per stat.
Be real, 115 – 502.
Cele needs to be boosted.
If the abjured doesn’t win then it’d be an upset of the largest caliber.
Agreed. Can’t wait for fanboys to start qqing and raging.
To be perfectly blunt, the abjured has had, IN THE LEAST, 40-50x as much practice, as a 5 man in teamspeak, than any of the other participants.
If they don’t win it’d be bad for the game or it’d be someone throwing….
No it won’t be bad for the game. It can be even much better.
Nabs will qq that leBeztTeamMurica which practiced for months, got rolled by team that exist for couple of weeks.
Others will look at it differently – even if you’re a Top Dog, you have to prove that you’re a TopDog all the time. There is always a fight for Top place. That means, today we can create a new team and start playing together with mindset to get into WTS. After weeks we’re ready for it and we can win. That means simply that everyone have a chance to get Top place,
With this, there is a high chance, that more and more people will start forming teams with competitive mindset and start applying to Tournaments.
As someone can say – Gw2 is no eSport, look at CS or LoL/Dota etc.
Sure, but Gw2 has small eSport playerbase and showing that newly formed team get into finals will have some positive impact on it.
Furthermore, playing in WTS Beijing was one of the most nerve wracking moments of my life. You couldn’t possibly understand without being there. The next four to six GW2 games mean you win 5,000 dollars and go home a champ or all that work means nothing. Without that mindset walking into it, you won’t win. But when the game starts, your adrenaline is pumping so god kitten hard that your fingers won’t operate the way you want to and auto-pilot kicks in.
You know.
There is a Polish movie(old one) “Wielki Szu”(Big Shu). It’s a movie about hazard game, poker, money and mentality. Making whole movie short, when you’re playing a game, you have to think about winning the game, not about money. Money quickly blind people.
As you have said, you were not mentally prepared. Probably mostly thinking “if we win, $5k” “if we lose, nothing” “if” “if” “if”. And obviously all those people, light add additional pressure.
I’m sure next time, you’ll be less stressed, and you won’t feel like you have 5kg put on each finger.
That’s my opinion alone.
I’m opening the chests always and stack potions in warehouse.
Exotic chest = 2 potions
Rare chest = 1 potion
You have 6 potions per day.
1 Full reward track need around ~80 potions.
You can always advance one reward track with arena reward points, and activate other one to use potions on it. Reactivate the old one at where it was left.
If you deactivate any track, it doesn’t reset it’s progress.
I hope there will be at least one Turret Engineer.
Worthy to watch teh stream then.
The only counter against that thief is Turret Engineer.
Purchase a Custom arena, invite people for 1v1.
Problem solved.
In case you still don’t understand then:
- In almost all games which features dueling system, it creates toxicity within community due to kittening who’s better and who’s not.
good to know thumper turret alone has pretty much same hp of shatter mesmer with more armor and immune to conditions.
and it’s just an utility skill…
looks totally legit to me
Legit comparison.
how about buffing crate (That already is “I win” button btw) so it also drops 2 shout warriors 2 d/p thieves and a celestial d/d ele on the ground + the usual bunch of turrets?
If crate is “I win” button for you, then certainly you have much to improve in pvp.
-Sniff-
So you’re saying that engineer will laugh because he get no damage while outside of the point, but at the same time he’ll score points from that point for 1~5mins while fighting you?
Sir, can you share information about your Rank Level?
The example was of casting a MS as an ele onto the engi, or one or more of his turrets (if you’re lucky you’ll damage two with MS), which the engi avoids by moving out of the field of MS, which probably means he steps off the point for the duration of the MS, then merrily steps back on,still holding the point, still clocking points.
Sorry if my brief description in the previous post was not detailed enough.
And what about it?
You stand in middle of point and cast MS. If engi step outside, then you’ll neutralize the point, which basically means, you contributed for your team, because enemy team doesn’t gain points from that point.
Necro has teleport to previous place, something like Mesmer’s portal. But it’s nowhere close to Shadowstep skills that Thief has.
Ele have 25 skills while Warriors have 17.
Ele have more utility than warrior.
Nope, Shoutbow doesn’t need a nerf.
Of course not.
All it needs is to disable Shout utilities and Longbow in PvP Arena.
+10 to Balance
I love it, when I’m 1v3 on far point for 3 mins, and after I die, I realize that my team didn’t cap even a single point and they call me a noob for going far.
Gold moments.
If you can’t kill Turret engi as Mesmer(PU/Power) then I suggest to reroll something else.
You have to use META!
Or else…
I hate to break it for you, but your “idea” of zerk vs shoutbow makes no sense.
Shoutbow has been created with the EXACT PURPOSE of winning 1vs1-2vs2. it wins vs everything 1vs1 and stalemates eles.
As usual, u have no idea about what you’re saying.
hmm~
Now I know why I see shoutbow once a month or even less.
+1 Nerf Shoutbow asap!
or at least nerf Thieves as always.
We have to nerf something, come on.
Engi doesn’t have counter to everything.
It’s far from it.
But there are few classes who are much better in that aspect.
And because of that, I find it kinda silly, why no one is complaining about them.
For past 2 months, PvP forum is filled with “Engi this, Engi that”.
I understand that people get rekt by engi because they’re bad and have to unload their frustration somewhere. But PvP isn’t filled with engis alone.
Matchmaking is working flawlessly as intended .
Is there any point to using weakness/chill as a secondary component to a build? I very rarely hear people complain about these two conditions. I mostly hear about CC/stacks. Regardless of if you go power/condi, do these conditions influence pvp matches that much?
This is just for my own education.
From Wiki
“Weakness is a condition that decreases the rate of endurance regeneration and turns half of all hits into glancing blows (that deal 50% less damage). Stacks of weakness increase the duration of the condition. Only stacks up to 5 times.”
“A glancing hit, also known as a glancing blow or simply as glancing, is a game mechanic that causes an attack to deal only 50% of regular damage and lose any critical damage. Glancing affects only direct damage, not damage dealt by conditions.”
That alone should answer your question and remove all doubt regarding value of Weakness condition.
Not even 2k armor, ~19k hp, 1 stun break, 0 stability, and most punishing build for single little mistake or opponent’s “lucky” dodge.
10/10 should win no prob.
the problem is just they deal way too much damage for what is basicly a full bunker.
nearly 30k hp, 3k armor and enough damage to kill a zerker in under 30 seconds.
Was fun seeing Chaith solidly outplay this trash turret engy for 1,5 minutes on stream and still dying to the #Esports rocket.
Yes, he knew that running away was the better option but he was going to show how broken turret engy actually is and how much skill you need to play it.
And what did he play with agains that turret engi?
Simon baiting dodges usually means using soft CC such as chill, cripple, immob etc
Shoutbow is a lot easier to kill than a d/d ele or cele engi.
This is a learn to play issue guys, no need to bring anymore attention to this thread.
No it’s not.
Simon said it’s too OP.
So it must be nerfed asap.
-1
Everything does work as intended.
Majority is happy with current system.
Enjoy it.
Point of that screenshot?
I vouch for this one.
Let’s disable Warrior shouts in PvP Arena.
-Sniff-
So you’re saying that engineer will laugh because he get no damage while outside of the point, but at the same time he’ll score points from that point for 1~5mins while fighting you?
Sir, can you share information about your Rank Level?
Also alot of “counters” people list are quite laughable even, ranging turrets down with lb as a warrior?.. because those turrets can’t hit you right?.. or the engineer can’t hit you still right?.. and how long will that take?.. the match would be over by the time you destroy all the turrets with your pitiful longbow damage.
If you’re getting killed by Turret Engineer as Hambow Warrior, then it’s a sign, that Hambow needs to be buffed and turrets perma disabled.
plenty of CC (immob + knockback) with rifle.
Engineer Rifle – #2 Immobilize; #4 Knockback
Engineer Shield – #4 Knockback; #5 Daze/Stun
Warrior Hammer – #4 knockback; #5 Knockdown; #Burst Stun
Warrior M/M – #3Daze; #5 Knockdown; #Burst Stun
Thief P/P – #2 Immobilize; #4 Daze
Necromancer D/W – #3 Immobilize; #4 Daze
Elementalist Staff – Air #3 Knockback; #5 Stun; Earth #4 Knockback #5 Immobilize
Elementalist D/D – Air #3 Stun; #5 Knockback; Earth #3 Immobilize; #4 Knockdown
Elementalist X/F – Water #5Daze Air #5 Knockdown
Ranger Greatsword – #4 Knockback; #5 Daze/Stun
Guardian Hammer – #3 Immobilize; #4 Launch; #5 Area lockdown
Guardian Scepter/Shield – #3 Immobilize; #5 Knockback
Mesmer Sword/Pistol – #3 Immobilze; #5 Daze/Stun; #Diversion Daze
Mesmer Sword/Sword – #3 Immobilze; #4 Daze #Diversion Daze
Surely, Engineer’s Rifle has plenty of CC.
Intelligence Sigil doesn’t grant vigor, neither have anything to do with Endurance.
it’s good to see a dev play with good players no matter how you cut it.
Why is it good exactly? I doubt they are actually learning anything by doing this.
Imagine now.
They get shrekt and nerf those builds that turned them into rag dolls.
The solution is nerf d/d weapon skills or traits or hoelbrak/sigilf of doom etc..
And staff ele, rifle engie and shoutbow weapon skills and traits. Why are you so focused on one celestial build when all of them are imbalanced? Celestial engi is the most often used build along with d/p thief and dps guardian.
Staff ele is fine. It acts more like a bunker/support than anything else. Most of its dmg can be avoided by people steping out of the red circle…
I am focusing in d/d ele because in the beggining of the topic we were discussing engi. And then pvp specialist asked a question about ele. When everyone was talking about engi I was talking about nerf IP, gear shield ,etc.. Also nerfs for heolbrak or doom would be universal and hit war/engi too.
Warrior got hit the most from the might nerf. They also go addrenaline nerf. A small tweak at healing shout trait reducing base healing and increasing the scaling with healing power would be enough.
Why nerf Hoelbrak runes and Doom sigil?
Both are fine and not overpowered.
Nerf them and another rune will be too OP.
Same with sigil.
Then what? Nerf them too?
Dead end, locked circle of endless nerfs.
Power nerf didn’t hit warrior much.
But Nerf on meless weapon damage did.
I’m surprised that Anet does nerf Warrior’s skill damage, while Guardian stays untouched. While it’s no rocket science that Guardian has much higher self sustain and burst than Warrior.
Please understand.
It is too hard for ArenaNet developers to put a random daily pick up for each account separately.
If it was easy, they would do it week after New Daily system update.
Ranger and necro are lagging. Nothing to do with speed hacking.
This thread need Justin and his metrics.
+1 for OP.
Disable Turrets in PvP Arena.
Turrets are way too OP.
True! Very True!
Celestial Amulet must be removed from PvP Arena.
It’s the only way to balance PvP in Gw2.
Anet must remove it asap.
(guardian spirit weapons were OP and then came nerf so nerf turrets too)
Inability Force to compare both spirit weapons and turrets is very strong in you.
I strongly hope that developer team will listen to your wishes.
I can foresee this: “Coming Soon™ in HoT expansion, turrets gain ability to become mobile AI units that follow the Engineer with Engineer’s specialisation.” Its one weakness of lack of mobility is now covered. That’ll totally explain the promo trailer.
50 bucks for making Turrets turn into Drones?
P2W as always.
Oh, this thread is still alive.
Frustration created by lack of skills sure is stronk.
I’m stacking Bolt of Damask and await the moment when price will go above 15g/unit.
:v
Which is why you put yourself in offline mode and avoid jerk store moment. I mean those really really suck.
They can always mail you.
:v
Desync position.
Good AoE spam can fix it
nah if they have a turret engi i usually just go mace\sword carrion and gank the kitten out of him, i like looking at turreterds full of bleeds (Dodging pindown op) torment and confusion dieing even after crate (Because you know, they all crate in 1v1 ofc)….you probably couldn’t read what i just wrote…i’m gonna explain it better:
You can kill turret engis np (When PROPERLY PLAYED there are specs way harder to kill 1v1 than turret..like cele staff or shoutbow for example)…but it takes way too much effort (If you are not running hardcounter) than it should, considering they’re basically doin nothing outside running in circles…for the skill it takes you should be able to kill them with autoattack only instead of having to play quite seriously…
New complain Meta spotted.
- rly? Supply Crate 1v1?
If opposite team is bit organized and pay attention to defenses, then going out alone for it is risky.
But it doesn’t mean that your death is a waste of time.
If you’re capable of sustaining some damage, timing your dodges, playing guerilla meanwhile using nearby environment like walls etc, then the more people from enemy team you’ll draw to that point to fight you and the longer it takes the better.
Even if your team is clunky cba about def and kill+decap, you can easily help them by making other two points being easier and faster to conquer.
it’s not a key to win, because it all depends on enemy and your team, but played right allow your team score to contribute a lot.
I personally call it a “Game of Fools”.
Drawing as much attention from enemy team as possible and holding it for as long as you can. Going for a kill is a no go. Your personal score is going to be low, but hence, Win despite low p. score is still much better than lose with high p. score.
But frankly and from my experience it honestly varies from player to player and how much luring will work against them.
Troll dem, whispers of sarcasm and irony are your deadly weapons, mon! You’ll make them jump on their seats and call moms. And you’ll have some fun while waiting for queues to pop.
Impossible.
They block you before they will whisper you.
Tho they rage-ask you questions and even laugh that you do not respond to them because you’re scared-noob.
Those Turret engi QQthreads remind me of ol’ AION and it’s drama for years regarding Fear skills from Spiritmaster class.
No one cared that Sorcerer was one shotting everyone in pvp, no one cared that gladiator was knocking down everyone permanently even through “stability”. No one cared about Rangers 3shot KO anyone in pvp.
There was that one thing that everyone focused on, because other things were unimportant and normal.
Conquest is a game mode that favors the immobility of turrets. If we weren’t playing Conquest and had other game modes, then it’d be a different story.
Yeah.
Turret immobility sure does cripple engineer in TDM like Courtyard.
It’s a no brain/skill build, it’s easily the most easiest played, does sick dmg, bunkers sick, and could easily be played in top tier. I think the main reason it’s not used in top tier pvp, in which i play, is cause it’s a low morale build.
You’re playing in top tier pvp and you get rekt by random newbie turret engineer?
Top tier pvpers sure are overrated.
I would ask him if he’s mad.
