There should be a 100% chance to be on a map with players from the realm the players chose (often paying to transfer to).
100% chance to be with players in the guild they currently represent.
100% chance to be with players in their squad.
100% chance to be with the players in their party. What if the map is full?
Should they disconnect someone already on the map?
It was an accident, but thank you for pointing out the gaping flaw of the MegaMerge. They cannot provide both full maps AND the level of sorting they keep alluding to.
Either you kick people from maps, or you split sort groups up. Or.. you create enough MegaMerge instances to keep sort groups homogenous. which essentially puts them back to pre MegaMerge.
I don’t see a bright future. There isn’t an MMO out there willing to buck the LCD pandering that has infected the Genre since WoW launching except possibly EVE.
GW1 bucked the trend and they chose to let it die. It lingers on still however, and I feel only because of uniqueness. I will never understand them not seeing the lesson of GW1 still surviving on minimum automated life support. Instead of integrating more GW1 philosophy and vision, they tossed it. I’ll add that they seem to have tossed a very loyal customer base as well.
All I see is this game devolving and self destructing for me, with no replacement on the horizon.
I’m not saying GW2 will die. WoW is mediocre and is far from dying. I’m just stating that there is no shortage of aging, LCD, mediocre MMOs. I had hopes that GW2 would not join their ranks, but.. oh well.

Yes. Let us go back to our individual servers where the lowbie zones are void of life, leaving the new players without anyone to help them when they have questions to ask, and their friends, if any are in the game, are not online to ask. Lets go back to the barren empty cities on the lower population servers, and over crowded maps we get put into queue for, because you want to be a selfish little brat and worry about your own gear.
I personally like the way it is now. And if your guild, provided you have one, is not active almost around the clock, then perhaps you should look into joining a guild that is so you can call on them. It’s not as if the guilds aren’t VERY actively recruiting now.
I have to respectfully disagree with your view on what the game was like before megaservers were introduced.
IMO it was way easier to help new players, way easier to communicate with other players on the map, way easier to get someone to aid you in a quest before MS. It was way more heroic to do some world boss as you were not reduced to a single dot in a 150+ crowd autohitting a boss invisbly hidden in graphic effects while being afk. And my experience is from a lower population server. We had a community then. Now we have anonymous masses of other players I can easily view as NPCs, since I have never seen them before and probably will never again.
I really really don’t like this part of the patch. It killed my fun in open world pve in a way that even the emptiest of all empty maps couldn’t have done.
I get the feeling you’re not from Borlis pass, where round the clock, save for the Champ farm train of Queensdale, all the regions were barren save for maybe the higher level zones. Being level sixty, I wouldn’t know about the 70-80 zones populations. So if I found a champion being the reason I couldn’t work on a rep(heart), because there was no one else out there to help me kill it for map completion.
The Megaserver has resolved this horrid issue. So please, don’t come at this like you have a clue what it was like for us new players on lower population servers that were more silent than an empty church on New Years eve.
Link please of what Heart requires a Champion Kill levels 0-60. I’ve leveled 12 chars to 80 in so called “abandoned” zones and found very few situations that could not be soloed. This isn’t a hard game. I have a 47 and a 65 now, and finding that the chance of getting gold completion on meta events to be extremely iffy to say the least. Nor is there any challenge to speak of when a zone is infested with MegaMerger zergs. I understand players wanting more population in zones, but this MegaMerge has addressed this in a manner that creates more issues than it solve
When you hit 80 and all open world content is a variation of Cave Troll and Maw you will understand more.
Also, I would dearly love to know how a “barren empty city” impacted your leveling experience.
But its all ok. The game is tailored for the new arrivals, you get your time in the sun, and when you get bored and jaded at endgame with no community, no challenge, no expansions, etc and quit Playing.. Anet is just betting they can replace you. Your game is paid for… a new player has to buy one.
LS was a series of Temporary Events. Nothing new to the Genre, only the frequency.
EQ2 has had world storyline events for years. Miss the event, miss the unique items and content, same as here.
Difference is.. those Storyline Events are not a replacement for new expansion content. They are in addition to expansion content. Often they are used as the backstory lines leading in expansion content.
Honestly, having some of both kinds of “content” would be the best. And isn’t gonna happen. It’s not “Innovative”.

Shrug. It is no secret that server mergers can be healthy for an MMO as far population, finding groups, etc. This game is at the stage of lifespan where mergers begin to happen. It’s common.
This is server merging. Unlike other server mergers I’ve experienced, where small, but intact server communities move in together… every server got essentially removed from the game with the exception of wvw.
Instead of a world with increased population consisting of two communities learning about and accepting each other, we get a situation of zones constantly in flux, populated by a random sampling of the entire game population, and no option of even getting to know who is in zone, and no need to.. knowing the next zone will be a totally different random mix anyway.
To my somewhat cynical eye, we just got hit with the biggest de-facto server merging in my MMO experience and they managed to relabel it and call it a “feature”. They merged every server without the bad press of “GW2 announces Server Merges”. Great PR stunt at the expense of server communities. Problem is.. this MegaMerge has produced negative effects far beyond conventional server merges. You dodged one bullet and then the piano landed on you.
I live in a rural MN town of 4000. That is a community. I can drive to Mall of America and be in the middle of more people.. doing the same thing I am, but it is NOT a community. It is a ton of people doing the same thing I am. It is a fun place to go, but it is not a community. Population does not instantly create community.
Merged world zones.. I see positives that require tweaking. I see how some love the idea of every zone being “readypug” able to provide warm bodies to finish events that don’t even need grouping and TBH, no need to even know or care who else is 1 1 1 1 as you 1111 at an HP bag.
Server Communities need a home to go to after the Particle Festivals. Give us our home cities back. Dont wreck server and RP communities totally.
Guilds need adequate measures taken to insure that the Guild Content Anet provided for them is doable and enjoyable in spite of MegaMerge. Give guilds the tools or sort weight to load Guilds into zones as a cohesive group. Don’t wreck Guild community.
Anet.. you encouraged the Super Guilds like TTS, GW2 Community, etc. You built the content that made them happen. Give them Schedules and a method to do what they do, please. Don’t wreck their community.
Anet, you made language preferred servers. Respect the communities that made that choice in good faith. They should be exempt from MegaMerge outside of chosen language.
And I’m done with the topic. Again, blowing away the smoke, all I am seeing is everymmo Relabeled and Reloaded. ANET spends far too much time on some weird crusade to somehow re-invent every aspect of the Genre and not enough time to insure that the Brave New MMO is actually working.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
SO – they have those services in those areas – what has the mega server to do with that?
As I stated on another thread – having mixed types of servers causes all types of lag issues. it ain’t gonna happen. I guess y’all will have to deal with it.
Server identity is only for WvW and PvP.
Cause more people per zone creates less lag, right? Gotcha.
A chat channel is no substitute for a physical home server location you can reliably log into by choice. Cities have no good reason to be Megaservers except to give an illusion of population.
Regarding just Cities, in my opinion there is absolutely no “pro” argument remotely strong enough to justify the considerable damage done to all server communities, RP included.
I do not believe if ANET has ever confirmed what form of random number generator they are using. Some are sad to say less random than others especially if they used a fixed “seed” number. Over time a fixed seed will return a repeating set of numbers as explained here part way down the page under the heading “Setting Seeds”.
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/28548/Pitfalls-in-Random-Number-Generation
I have always suspected they use a fixed seed. I have two “bad rng” chars. I won’t even use those two to salvage rares/exotics, waste of BL kits. EQ2 used a fixed seed.. my badluck girl there went for 2 years without a rare harvest till they increased drop rate.
If I recall correctly, the seed in GW1 was based on timestamp upon zone in to instance.
My gripe is that these low level zone boss’s don’t seem to be designed for the level range they are in.
I noticed this with the Shadow Behemoth. This is a level 1-17 zone. I was there with my level 30 Engineer. It took 14 minutes to kill it and I was there from the beginning, putting all my firepower in to it.
I didn’t do enough damage to get a chest. That’s ****** up!
this really happening?
Yup. People appropriate to the zone get bronze participation or none in a lot of cases. For pre events none is the norm, in my experience.
And the term Mega Fail gains a new interpretation.
I am amazed at gullibility sometimes.
How is any algorithm going to put roleplayers together in the absence of any data indicating it?
No rp flag, no rp title, no rp annotation of any form. SMH
Server id/name flag?
Except that RP server is an unofficial status. Hear me out. IF they are insistent on pursuing a complicated algorithmic sorting system over common sense, having some sort of RP indicator on an account could make the system a tad bit more acceptable for the RP communities.. and could possibly enhance cross server RP communities in the highly probable absence of actual home server communities. Particularly if an RP tag had a higher sorting weight.
Everquest2 has had a “Roleplayer” tag since launch. Its not new, nor is it rocket science. ANET needs to get over its “not invented here” syndrome.
I am amazed at gullibility sometimes.

ok, so we now have 19 pages of mostly negative feedback.
Not only is it negative, but the people most negative are the guild/server community leaders! These are the people who make GW2 a success.
Its time for Anet to do what they claim they do best: Iterate
I’d say we now have 19 pages of people overreacting and forgetting the flaws of the game from less than 2 weeks ago. Megaservers aren’t perfect, but I’d take it any day over the situation from 2 weeks ago.
Funny. I never considered the ability to actually PLAY on my chosen home server as a flaw.
14 Characters
12 at level 80
0 world completes
I will not do jumping puzzles. No loss, really, I’m too fussy about my characters appearance to ever want to equip a legendary anyhow.

spot on, Peter
and so it will be locked, merged, or deleted.
IF people did not complain, a rather vocal segment of the forums would be out of a hobby.
The ones who complain about complainers would have nothing to complain about.
This wouldn’t last long. One of them would have a minor issue with something and the rest would turn on them like a pack of hungry hyenas finding a slow, obese rabbit.
Polar opposites but much the same. Some look for any excuse to lodge a complaint. Some look for any excuse to blast a “complainer”. Both toxic, both wrong.
The option works off the language version you are using. It doesn’t care what language you type, only your client.
My best friend is from Quebec, uses a french client but does all communications in english, NA server. She was blocked by people who used “english only” checkoff.. and by default her chat was set to French Only as well.
Language filter is horribly implemented.
well kitten , then that means everyone that has that option toggeld on won´t read my messages even if i write it on english , great job anet =_=
Yes, unfortunately. It has impacted my friend quite a bit, seems a lot of players in NA have “english only” checked or are simply unaware it is on by default. They simply don’t see her chat.

Am I the only one that feels like this is just a containment thread to keep the forums clean of all the complaints?
They don’t respond, they don’t care. I doubt they even read these threads.
Most likely the problems are here to stay and the usual answer applies, as always, “Deal with it!”.
You are definitely not alone in that feeling. This isn’t a feedback thread, it’s a quarantine zone.
Also, I’m unsure why everyone’s bought into their marketing buzzword. Server Merge is Server Merge, no matter what they want to call it. It’s just that the server they merged us all with was the kittening Overflow.
100% this. For all intents they have pulled off the largest Server merger in MMO history, to my knowledge, and avoided the bad press of doing so.
And the vast majority of those that are happy with them are not posting either, so I don’t really see that as a strong argument for most people disliking it.
I doubt that anyone, pro or con, finds your input credible or unbiased anymore. Conjecture is not fact, at any time, or for either side.
No one knows what the silent are doing. Playing.. or quietly moving on.

I for myself have started to call the Megaserver feature “the NGE of GW2”.
In before the “corrections”. You are correct. The heart of the NGE was a calculated risk by SOE that new consumers attracted by the changes to SWG would outweigh the loss of current consumers they KNEW they would lose.
Didn’t work out too well for them. Smedley later admitted it was the worst mistake he had ever made.
Thief. They can simply reset and escape any fight they can’t win. If you are looking to roam to take yaks, camps, harass a BL it is the way to go. One thief can tie up 4-5 people at a supply camp who really should be doing other things.
some of the chats between players who played against each other in wvw are downright nasty in gendarren at this point … just logged into two people flat out going at it
Like I posted in the other thread, everything I complained about is laid out by others here
crappy guild runs
crappy pve
no server community
etc etccan we please admit we made a mistake here and roll it back? I think most players guested TC or other servers when they wanted a full map anyway (which is why guesting was free) … and it seemed to work great
Is this some kind of ruse to make players think the game is thriving?
I cannot fathom any reason to mega the cities except to give the illusion of high population.
Every MMO released has had the issue of new players coming into the game and assuming low population simply because people had moved on to higher content. ANET seems to be trying to spoof this.. but at the expense of a lot of collateral damage.
Time will tell if the New Acct > Veteran Acct equation works out for them. It hasn’t for any other publisher.
Anet, for all practical purposes, has just pulled off the biggest server shutdown/merge I have ever seen, without taking the bad press for announcing the fact.
Unfortunately, we aren’t even left the option of keeping server communities “in exile” as can be done in a conventional server merge.
My server is now a BL in a wvw map. The sole Fort Aspenwood “city” is the Citadel in WvW.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
For the guy who suggested WvW, go… give it a shot on an underlevel. My 59 war is going to half health on SENTRIES with full defense vs guards, full rares, full bloodlust stack and food. This was not the case prior.
WvW is not the place you wanna be, unless the other side is gonna pay you to give them rallies.
Bank tabs, collection tabs, that sort of thing.
Something hard to “improve” by turning it into a 15 min tonic.
unforseen consequences. A few bots in a few mega cities cover far more population.
you can’t enter mega hoelbrak without being pounced on by Gold Bots.
People who complain will come here and do it and people who enjoy the game will do that instead of wasting their time here. Wether you or him is the one complaining is nothing but a cycle because it is an MMO and while an update may disappoint you, it may amaze others.
It is just an illusion that if Anet make better actions, the forum will look better…as it is an MMO community, there will ALWAYS be people kittened about updates and there will always be those who hate on the game wether the updates are good and bad cause you know what: if Anet doesn’t listen to me then they are trash and if they do listen…o wait, they are too late doing so, they should have done it since launch, they are still trash, GW2 is dead, gg.
Unfortunately, it seems they have taken your flawed theory as fact. No matter how many are negatively impacted by an update or change, no matter the reason, feedback or example.. it is a “cycle” that can just be ignored till it goes away.
Or worse, they react with a “fix” that has nothing to do with the posted issue and actually makes a problem worse. The language filter as a ‘fix" for their megaserver failing badly for EU is a prime example. Fixes like this show they do not understand, at all, the issue players are trying to communicate and apparently aren’t even trying to.
“Ermagawd the game is dead” is a cyclical mmo post and common. There are, however, massive, legitimate complaints from this update concerning RP, Guild Missions, Language, Trait acquisition level vs level required to unlock, Gem Store item integrity post purchase, and others. To dismiss them all as a “cycle” without merit would be disastrous on a grand scale.
OP, first you have to tease out which posters are players with legitimate concerns and which ones are those with an agenda.
I read quite a few game forums and it’s pretty clear who that second group of forum posters are, in fact they often copy their rants word for word from one forum to another. They were the ones bashing on the game since before it launched and they are the ones here that post on each and every little bit of negative thread they can find, that will post negative stuff on positive threads, that are all over the ’this game needs mounts" and “no trinity sucks!” and “subscription games are teh betterz!” type threads.
They’ve been predicting death of the game since The Great Butter Crisis of 2012, that MoP would kill it, then when that didn’t happen FFXIV would kill it, then when that didn’t happen that ESO would kill it, etc.
The more successful the game is, the greater their distress grows, they double their efforts with the negative forum marketing posts. There is no appeasing them, they do not want to be satisfied or happy, they are not part of this community in any way, they serve a different master.
And right in there with your illuminati-ish complainers with an agenda we always have the Loyal Order of Defenders who will go to the same toxic extremes defending whatever the current status quo is, and using the same hackneyed statements they have used in every other forum. “This isnt _” “Forums are a vocal minority” “go back to _________” etc, as well as being, generally, the masters of ad-hominem.
Generally, when there is an extreme, there is also a polar opposite.. and neither are good.
There is nothing that goes on here that doesn’t occur in kitten near every official forum of a “major” title. When you sell millions of copies, you are GOING to get wide swaths of people that are disappointed with it, and will make that displeasure known… usually very loudly.
But one thing that I WILL promise you is that 100% of the sentiment on these forums reaches developer ears. They DO know what upsets you. They DO know what annoys you. They even know your reasons for it. It’s very easy for players to equate not getting an answer with being ignored. They “ignore” you for:
1) There’s really nothing that can be said on the matter due to non-disclosure agreements. A lot of technical matters fall under this category (like exploits and hacks). No matter how much you demand an answer, it will not and can not be given.
2) They’ve already given their answer, and the only thing they would do is repeat that answer ad nauseam. There is literally no point in saying, “No. We will not change this” and repeat it for days on end each time a new handful of players voices that same complaint.
3) The interaction wouldn’t actually solve anything. As much as players think that it would help so much just to get a, “We’re still looking into [x], but we don’t have a suitable solution yet, and there’s no time frame that we have to address the issue” the simple fact is that it doesn’t help… at all. It doesn’t quell rage, it doesn’t soothe tempers, if anything it tends to make the anger worse (THEY’RE JUST THROWING OUT PR SPEAK! THEY AREN’T LISTENING! THEY DON’T CARE! RAAAAAAAGE! FUUUUUUURY!!!).
Its funny, personally I find posters that assume their opinions are that of the Developers —enough to speak for them, are as annoying as posters that deem their opinion as ’everyone".
Everyone should post for themselves. I don’t claim to be the voice of everyone, and no one should claim to post Dev opinions.. unless they have a red name. The “Good Feedback” sticky is the Anet position on feedback.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
I’m not a roleplayer in the commonly accepted definition anymore. I do see the major damage the megaserver has done to the RP community however.
My “RP” was simply trying to immerse myself. I could go to quiet Hoelbrak and actually feel like a Norn in a Norn town, free from the particle glitter and 4chan chat of LA. Now, I cannot, because that town no longer exists. I no longer have that choice.
I can see megaserver benefits for adventuring, even though I would prefer not being forced into them. I understand the positives, for many, of having more people in an adventure zone.
What I cannot see is any positive from forcing Mega upon cities. The only possible benefit I can see is presenting an illusion of population, and in a city, that is no benefit to anyone but ANET.
I would love my quiet city back. I would love to actually be on my home server when I am there. I would love for choices to remain, and for one size fits all solutions to stop replacing player choice.
Lets revisit a “negative posting” episode.
Nov 2012 update. “every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot”.
They did not. Players pointed this out. Threads were closed, moved, condensed, ignored. The situation did not change. Players became more negative, more threads were removed, more infractions issued, nothing done about the actual issue.
Finally an official thread for feedback appeared.. “Share your Perceptions etc.” Even then the Official stance was that it was a player “perception” issue.
Eventually, months later, after hundreds of feedback posts, Champs dropped loot.
Players who “complained” about Champs with no loot were blasted by the usual defenders. They were told they had no merit, no proof, no cause to complain. Threads and posts disappeared, the topic got damage control moderation, and still people persisted. End result, the people pointing out that Champs did NOT drop loot were correct.. and the issue was fixed.
It is probably the best practice to deliver feedback to Anet in a non inflammatory manner, but at the same time it is Anets responsibility to look into that feedback without tossing it off as “perception” “toxic posters” " forum complainers" etc.
When a thread gets to several hundred pages, even if you discount every single post that fails to fit “good feedback”, odds are strong the problem is real enough to deal with.
Complaints made about “Anet” are commonly about those with the function of direction and decision making. Not the total employee base. The majority of those employed by Anet are blameless, and I am sure there are employees just as disappointed in decisions made as some consumers are. I am also quite sure that some of these decisions were made in spite of deep reservations/opposition internally. We will never actually know.
Odds are strong that there are employees reading these comments, shaking their heads, and thinking.. “I told them this would happen”.
People in business who make the decisions are compensated to take the heat, and should. Calling out those individuals on a forum thread is a very big no no, however, and so “Anet” is used. In truth, Anet.. as a whole.. is not being criticized. Only the few that can actually direct the game are. Deservedly, in my opinion.
And what happens to French Canadians, most using a French client game and stuck on NA servers. Will they all be ignored by default now even if typing in english?
How many bandaids does it take to cure a brain concussion, Anet?
Well, I made the decision to just dump every item made into a tonic on the TP and chalk the experience up to “lessons learned”. So.. some people will get these tonics for their actual worth.. less than 4g.
I wish I could sell my Bunny Ears.. since Banana Boxing Bunny in banana boots, boxing gloves, cargo shorts and Ears is gone forever. I doubt I’ll do costume brawl anymore.
I will not be asking for a gem refund for those 10 items.. no more than I would accept store credit from any other retailer that acted with such callous indifference. I don’t want or need any more gems given the way this situation was handled. Fool me once.
And btw.. for some reason it seems NPCs are still wearing separate, mixable, dye-able town clothes. So.. they still exist ingame. Just not for the paying consumer. Nice.
But now, at least, the store can offer a Kasmeer “Beach Outfit”. You know, a nice bikini covered up with a drab grey janitor coverall.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
For a game that makes the claim of “play your way” removing the very basic choice of actually playing on the server you chose makes no sense.
This game restricts actual choice more than any other MMO I have played, in all aspects. “Play your Way” is spurious, meaningless babble coming from the current Anet.
I simply want the items I bought. Cargo shorts and Ornate blouses.
I would not have purchased Khaki outfit tonic nor Ornate outfit tonic, I do not want them now, and they are unacceptable substitutions for what I purchased. I do not purchase tonics.
I cannot believe that they thought this would be acceptable.
I read the TOS. I am aware of what they can do with “their” property.
It is their legal right. That does not make it good customer service, does not enhance consumer faith, and was a poor decision in any light.
A decision poor enough to unilaterally fix.. company side.
We should not have to petition for this. We did not buy a tonic. We bought separate, dyeable items that could be mixed and matched.
A tonic replacement is not acceptable. Having to beg for gem refund is not acceptable.
Make it right or revert the items. This blunder is of a magnitude that needs addressed game wide, for everyone.
by refund I mean gems.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
I read all of the posts by the OP and they echo my sentiments so much.
I got to the point that one more mention of Scarlet or one more paragraph of shoddy, canned dreck story would have led to an uninstall and so I just quit logging in.
And I waited for this update..only to log in and actually not move any characters from where I had left them as I TRIED to digest that this mess was billed as “improvement”.
Megaservers.. wtf. Town clothes and costumes..far worse now. No configurable UI. No meaningful client side particle effect control. Abandonment of scaling events in favor of an unwieldy, unfriendly forced population feature that WILL kill community. Less choices in dailies/monthlies. Staggering inflation of the gem/gold costs and a downturn on the rest of the market. No new permanent content in sight. Bosses buffed up to suit their vision that only super-guilds and communities are viable playstyles and every indication that is the sole direction the game is going…. reworking old zones and old content.
Brilliant post. I hope that ANET people read it and comprehend it.
I quit 2 days into battle for LA, I don’t care how the LS ended, I haven’t logged back in and doubt that I ever will. Enough is enough.
Feature patch just isn’t enough to mitigate the damage done by Ms. Leylines and Company, for me. The writing was not only bad, but trampled all over existing lore and was explained by nothing more than “I said so”.
Agreed. LS has managed to get me to do something no MMO I’ve played in a decade has ever done.
I bought Skyrim and am actually playing a single player RPG.
Just quit logging in last chapter, LA Farmfest. Haven’t managed to even bother since.
ANET is snatching failure from the jaws of success. It makes me very sad.
I cared a lot about the lore, right up to the absolute dismissal of GW1 lore in the McCoy interview. “they were mistaken”
Now.. not at all in this game. The LS has made a mockery of lore in too many ways.
And so now you are implying that you have access to his Chat logs.. or are you just referring to the chat we have all seen posted?
“oh, another one!” “Quaggan will miss you!!”….
The chat logs posted in the closed thread show, without a doubt, that the suspension was justified in the eyes of Anet. According to Qt, logs show that the person was kicked multiple times, and continued to return to the map to AFK during the event. Repeated behavior.
So which part of this is hard to accept? The fact that a player was caught AFKing? Or the fact that the AFKer repeated an action that, in the eyes of Anet, was not allowed?
What part is hard to accept? Your assertion of “without a doubt”, which is your opinion, not fact.
“According to QT”… why again with the implied access to inner workings? Desperate for validation much?
You do not, and should not, have access to any logs that would actually prove a suspension justified “without a doubt”. You are just speculating.
(edited by Teofa Tsavo.9863)
Why did they deserve it, and how can you know?
Because I read the chat logs from the Anet Head of Security.
You don’t even know what anet’s response was to the tickets filed.
Correct. That response is between Customer Support and the player. If they felt the suspension was unwarranted, it will be reversed. Pretty simple.
And so now you are implying that you have access to his Chat logs.. or are you just referring to the chat we have all seen posted?
“oh, another one!” “Quaggan will miss you!!”….
I like how this is still a debate between AFKers and Power-Hungry-Devs. No one is accounting for the people who get banned without reason. They are between these two groups, and it is that group of people that I am sticking up for. If ANet wants to ban AFKers, then fine, but make it transparent so we know what we can and can’t do, and make it an automated system so there is no human error.
The last thing I want to do is log on and think of the endless possibilities that could get me banned. I should be able to just sit down, read some clear-cut rules, and play the game. I can’t do that when we have Devs on power trips.
The people who got kicked deserved so. People who got 72 hour suspensions got what they deserved as well, because they repeated the behaviors that got them kicked in the first place. We call this an open-and-shut case.
Because you know.. for a fact… that combat logs were checked to insure that there was positively no activity done in the zone, and that no person was unfairly kicked for taking a break from active participation?
And who is we? You are just another player. Your opinions are not facts. You, as a player, do not even have access to the “facts” that should be checked prior to a suspension or ejection. You have no hard factual knowledge of whether anyone actually “deserved” a kick or suspension at all.
“Everyone else on the map” isn’t concerned about 1200. It is but one of many activities offered in the map. It isn’t even an achievement.
I could care less about the “story” at this point. Nothing I do matters at all. So, I go in, I farm bags to get tomes of knowledge for an alt, and any contribution I make to rescue count is accidental. I turn map chat off so I don’t have to hear numbers rage and blamecalling.
Perhaps I need banning for not caring, for not “playing it right”?
All I see is rage over not getting 1200, and focusing that rage on a convenient target.
No different than map rage at bearbows, zerkers, and underlevels from prior events.
This community is toxic.
If the game was instanced I could who I want to play with and kick afkers/leechers fast. With open world its one big PUG which you can’t control.
Apparently certain high profile guilds can arrange to have those people kicked/suspended.
Its all about who you know, I guess.
my feedback. I clicked the link. 30 seconds later I closed the page.
not interested in being flogged over and over with this dreary LS.
