See this thread, you need to make contact with Anet because they thought they’d fixed it, both in-game and fixed accounts previously affected.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/HoT-maps-reset-on-me/page/4#post5747717
That is a different issue.
The bug they are talking about has nothing to do with map completion status being reset. It’s about not being given rewards at all for completing the new maps.
There was a post from bill in the same thread saying it should be fixed in the next build.
Why didn’t you just log-in during the 2 week period ?
Why do you feel you must be given legacy content for free, when there’s an active policy in place that handle exactly how its monetized ?
I have all Season 2 opened on this account that I no longer play.
For HoT I bought a new account, do I really need to pay for LS2?
I would ask why you no longer play it…or why you’d get the expansion for a new account. To each their own.
Contact support they may be able to help you.
Otherwise the answer is yes.
I actually noticed, that even the owners of the horsebow dislike it, and also turn off the sound.
Some owners.
I love the sound and will keep it on, its glorious.
Let me rephrase my question; Why were they given a price?
Season 2 was introduced with a price from the start. The gem costs were waived for anyone who logged in during the 2-5 week period each episode was live.
Well yes, but why?. If the purpose of introducing them with a price was to make money, why offer them at no charge at all? I just don’t get the split here; why give them away to people who did something as simple as logging in during a two-week period and clicking a button (not the same as being an active player), then charge everyone else gems for them? It creates a bigger problem for new players – finish the core game story, and then have to fork over gold or cash to access the content that bridges that to HoT. Mordy isn’t even mentioned in the core game, is it?
I know I’m beating a dead horse here, done now. :P
Why didn’t you just log-in during the 2 week period ?
Why didn’t you actively support the game at all until HoT ?
Why do you feel you must be given legacy content for free, when there’s an active policy in place that handle exactly how its monetized ?
I know i’m asking a bunch of why statements to try and get people to answer the obvious here but i’ll keep asking anyway.
I think they need to include more events that are not as challenging for those who can’t afford the huge elite gear and to walk trough maguma like gods, and to also reduce the boss scale slightly so there not so dam hard.
Go back to core tyria, gear up appropriately. Come back.
Just because you don’t have something, or are unwilling to work toward it is no justification for nerfing content that is meant to provide a challenge.
I 100%d every map in HoT and received no rewards. What did I do wrong?
You did it on a character who prior to HoT had 100% map completion. It’s a known bug that should be fixed soon™
It’s not hard….
Also, who would have thought an MMORPG would have co-operative elements in its open world ? It’s almost like they want you to play with other people in their themepark MMO.
Since GW2 wasn’t like that before HOT (world bosses excepted) why are you here if you like 1990s group-or-die MMOs?
Maybe since you’ve been around.
Ask anyone whose stuck with the game the full three years and they can tell you how much more lively the community aspect used to be (see pre-nerf Orr). Then the same sorta crying about difficulty or annoying mobs came about and turned what was an amazing multiplayer experience into a we press autocast 1 while watching movies.

It’s not level 40.
You only need Guild Hall level 28 and Market 2.
Give more meaningful instabilities, not this canned same instab for 10 levels.
It’s fine if we have to deal with two, but make them meaningful, challenging and interactive.
As is the the current ones do none of this and only punish people for using game mechanics.
Why do you need to charge one every day? If you skip 3 days/month you don’t need to buy anything. Guild halls need a lot but guild halls are supposed to be a group effort and not reliant on one person’s daily quartz limit.
Because there are some upgrades that require, 100 leyline tools…..
Even in a maxed out guild of 500 people if only 20% donate 1 per day, you’re looking at 100 days to get said upgrade done.
Yes, there’s the odd-ball chance you can get more from harvesting your home instance / opening certain bags. But that is not a reliable method to count on.
Using the treasury, and opening the guild pane (G key) seems to cause a funky crash/stall.
Not sure if this has been reported or not, and i’m not entirely sure if this is the exact step to cause it.
The only certainty i have is
1) I Interacted with the treasury npc
2) I opened the guild panel
3) I tried to leave the guild hall using the button on the panel (without closing the treasury window)
4) The client locked up at this point.
I’m no longer going to engage with the “numbers trolls.”
Apparently any counter claim to your assertion is now trolling ?
Good to know.
The entire thread is a poor display of players not adapting to harder AI and learning the fights.
You’ve been given countless tips and tricks to deal with them, use them.
There’s the Guild Hall in LA for small guilds like you describe.
The only thing they need to restore is the features that guilds had prior to HoT being locked away now.
It would be nice if the new content rewarded you with the new ascended materials from their unique bags instead of Dragonite, Emperyal, Bloodstone. It would help keep core tyria populated, while promoting gameplay diversity.
There’s a lot wrong with the current fractals…Like punishing using game mechanics (dodge this go around).
Then there’s the new boring as heck HP sponge fights.
I’m not really sure who was involved with this incarnation of fractals, but honestly give me the old fractals back, they were way more fun and actually engaging (maybe not as Pug friendly) but something has to change.
Would like to see the current fractals as “Normal” run and a “Coordinated/Challenge” run for full 5 man groups willing to do the old set of 4 random fractals (perhaps change the mechanic to also have (4 random Instabilities) only available above scale 50. /shrug
I’m just barely capable of silver, i dont even remotely think gold is doable. That said i understand i’ll need to put in a lot of work to get better at it.
I think it’s highly like more nodes will be introduced in a future story/festival.
Or entirely possible that the Guild Synthesizer will have a chance to drop them above a certain level.
Time will tell. After all Quartz is one market they claim to already be watching.
Most set gear is highly impractical and lead to further balance related issues than they are worth.
Linear pathing.
I’m a fan of multiple options to get the result done. I’d like GW2 to use some of its mechanics wisely and allow for parts of the dungeon to encourage or actively use under utilized tools (shadowsteps, portals, etc….)
If you want people to come back at all, increasing the aetherium rate is hardly the issue.
Give the guilds the upgrades they already had previously unlocked.
Remove the Auto upgrade junk, it strongly limits strategic play
Increase the Rewards….Sorry the “balance against farming excuse” doesnt fly, especially when silverwaste still exist.
Remove some of the utter non-nonsensical “zone mechanics” …looking at you fire keep.
Focus Water skill 4 is a Knockback
Since when ?
megaserver system right now is broken for magus falls maps.
It needs a true spectate mode.
Agreed with the OP. “Learn to play” people, if you don’t have a problem with the snipers, then that’s fine, but stop dismissing the reports from people who do.
There’s plenty of loot pinata’s in core tyria for you. Please go back to them until you feel safe enough to venture into a somewhat challenging area.
Last thing we need is HoT dumbed down to the level Orr is at.
Or just change the recipe to match….
But then the speculators would cry foul.
Have you tried the taking two steps to the left and or right approach ….. ?
I mean this isn’t an on the rail shooter you can actually do more than stand there and take it.

If the map was easier to navigate, people would play in it.
Really how hard is it to take your camps waypoint then take a Wallow to your camps Lane ?
If you don’t have wallows unlocked, the map is incredibly confusing to hoof it around for the first week or so.
It doesn’t help that the mini map is basically useless for determining the layout of the various depths since they gradually meld into one another rather than using direct elevators like the canopy in VB does.
The only one that is clear is the underground river and there’s nothing down there anyway except for a few mussels nodes.
If you don’t have it, here’s a solution….play the other maps until you do.
The entire point of masteries is to act as a small gate to get you to play the content until you’re ready to move forward.
Additionally, really are people that bad at reading maps ?
Do they not see the up/down/cave entrance markers at all ?
I have a gut feeling this is less about “Design” and more about lazy players who have never had to learn anything other than W + 1 = Loot.
Back to the actual topic, about the only thing i’d like to see physically changed about the meta is to give it a bit more slack. As is Nuhoch lane is brutal in this regard, there are times when not enough spores spawn and that’s pretty much an instant fail state. Same can be said of Ogre lane.

Also – you need to learn how to “farm” the jungle for XP – not just play it.
Do you realize what a horrible statement that is?
I’m not saying you’re wrong. (Far from it, actually.) But this is a game. It’s supposed to be fun. When your best advice for making progress is to stop playing and start working, doesn’t that set off any red flags for you?
While i agree there’s something wrong, it’s also equally wrong for players to want to do the hardest content in the game with no forethought or effort.
Again, people seem to still be missing the bigger picture though. Masteries are optional, they have stated this time and time again. They will help make your encounters smoother, but ultimately if you are good enough at the game you can in theory forget they even exist.
Except that’s just an assumption – given how much they’ve pushed for HoT and to get people to play it I expect that the gates will be really really hard.
While theoretically you could do it without the masteries – in practice I think you’re going to 100% need them.
It’s not much of an assumption. Colin has been on record saying as much during pretty much every Q&A he’s done on raids.
Here’s the clip from PAX Prime incase you missed it where he says it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ5LpwO-An4
Now yes some fights make use of masteries, but is that really a shock ? Raids are meant for those that enjoy challenges part of that means putting the time and effort into getting masteries to complete the content.
No.
I actually fully enjoy the group play the game re-introduced. It’s nice to have whole maps of players actually banding together as opposed to the loot pinata fest that is the rest of the core game.

Oh lord.
People they said you can do raids without masteries.
It’s just going to be infinitely harder you don’t have masteries. The gate is therefore optional, either you want to suffer or you want to succeed.
Let me explain why I say ignorant and elitist.
These are the people saying the middle event is mindless PvE that ruins it and that is too much PvE.
However they fail to bother realising that the entire game is a lot more PvE. Think about it, how do you take a tower with no-one there? Ram door down, kill the NPCs and stand in the circle. This is a lot more PvE than that event in the middle as you’re actually fighting NPCs as opposed to fighting other players to turn in a maguffin to what could even be just a basket.
That’s without touching on the silliness of saying it contains a collect and turn in event making it PvE. It’s like saying conquest has capture circles which are in PvE and so its PvE.
Please go read the WvW CDI that’s now over a year old where people asked for “LESS PVE” and you’ll understand the why people are actually a bit annoyed they full on went the EoTM more gimmick and PvE route.

So….
Where is that healthy gamestate now ?
As far as i can tell the new maps are pretty much a flop on anything below T1 status of population.
Yes and No.
The story repeat works and is fine. Keep in mind you’ll also get the black lion key on each character and there is no cooldown on this step.
No, the DS meta event isn’t better from a pure number standpoint. It’s RNG and you may or may not get them from noxious pods at the end.
Ultimately i think they should change the chest reward at the end of the DS meta from Dragonite Ore to Crystaline but they may have future plans for more ways to acquire Crystaline Ore.
Most of the money right now is currently in materials and trading.
With the expansion a lot of markets are in flux which means its a great time to speculate, although that comes with some risks so choose wisely.
They’re dumb and removed strategic elements of gameplay.
I have no problem with them being free, i have a huge problem with the game shift to remove strategic elements in favor of becoming timer wars.
You know….
I’m miffed on this as well.
There’s 0 reason to have altered fractal drop rates in this direction. In addition to having the mission be having more inclusive fractals, you also wanted them to be more rewarding. Right now both of those aspects are missing. I know there’s a giant thread in the fractals subforum about why fractals are currently bad but this is just another reason.
I mean, if we have to salvage 6-10 (not sure on exact numbers here) ascended gear/weapon for the backpiece alone….shouldn’t the odds of getting these in higher end fractals be above the previous rates by a good margin ?
I did a fractal with a 161 guy afew hours ago aparently thats max.
S/He said it was from doing normal content with boosters only but I really dubt they havent done cof p1 farm for the tyria masterys atleast.
It is NOT humanly possible to get 50+ mastery since HoT got released doing normal content with all boosters and consumables stacked up.
Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
It is entirely possible. I’m at 96…and at 98% of a 12 point investment. My guild master is at 161 through mostly map completion, events, and boosters. To say its not humanly possible is quite funny….it’s like people don’t even try.
Perhaps have the fractal dailies count as regular dailies as well.
This should 100% be a thing.
There’s no reason for them to not be credited as such.
The mega server system is still not properly fixed. Once anet fixes these issues all the maps should appear way more densely populated than they are.
You can get them from noxious pods, or the end chest.
I got the machined hammer part from the end chest and following that the staff part from a noxious pod in another run.
A guild is not 1 person. At this point you are just another player with a tag.
If you want to use a guild hall one is available for you to use in Lion’s Arch.
Base the costs on the capacity of the guild. Start guilds at 10 people with upgrades for 50, 100, 250 and 500. If you upgrade your capacity, you lose access to whatever, but are discounted what you’ve already paid. Basing the costs on zerg guilds is silly. It’s the zerg guilds that should be heavily punished.
Ermm…..
So the large guilds are supposed to be punished or heavily taxed for the works and dramas they had to go through to become large. I see, sounds fair.
On a side note, which part of it is fair if a guild that paid lesser can get to access the same amount of things as a guild which paid more? In reality, a lot of things can be fair while a lot of things can also be unfair. However, a rule remain, a small factory can only produce a limited number of things while a large factory can produce a larger number of things. If scaling had to be done, it has to be done with this rule in mind.
You need to take a math class
If you have 300 members donating materials, the cost for each memeber will be very low compared to if 10 members of a guild must donate the same things. Add to that the 300 members will be able to finsih most things in the guild hall within a month or two (guilds already have gvg arena) whilst small guild with 10 people looking for a year or more with nonstop farming materials and not playing anything else.
There has to be a way to make it worth while for both big and small guilds. I don’t know how it would work, maybe make it about kapacity, as in active members. If you want to add more active members that can use the guildhalls, then you have to add more donation to add the new limit. This way you can scale how much it cost and add more if you want to have more active memebers being able to join in.
Actually the cost is still the same.
Nice fallacy though. The average cost per player is lower, the total cost never changed.
Get friends, do the hero points.
Maybe, who knows you’ll actually find someone or a group of people you enjoy playing with. Which is the entire point of those challenges. They aren’t designed as solo content. The jungle was designed as group content from the group up.
Oh, put a sock in the passive-aggressive “be more social” mantra. I’ve been playing this game for over a year now (albeit with a few breaks), I’ve done almost entirely open world content, and in all of that “group” content, I probably have an actual conversation 1 out of every 1,000 events, if that.
Most of it is “thanks” for rezzes, if that, or “thanks for the help” (and variations of) if people help each other out on a HP. Unless you go out of your way to go in teamspeak or something, the game isn’t even friendly for getting to know people in open world because the nature of event chains means that much of your time spent is killing, surviving, and running to the next event. Time for typing out words for long conversations is rare. Voice chat is far easier to talk in while playing, but the game itself does not encourage this in any way.
So don’t give people crap about making friends, as if they are asocial losers. The so-called “group” content (90% of the events and virtually every HP) doesn’t even require social interaction. It just requires the presence of other players.
Don’t conflate social and group because, believe it or not, they are not the same thing in this context. Raids will be a different story, I’m sure, and raids are true social group content. Open world content in this game provides a feeling of solidarity. That’s most of what it does.
So let me get this straight you really don’t get that if you have friends you can get those “Hard Hero Points” done ?
Gotcha, funny how people want hard content then are so very quick to want it nerfed to the floor. Either get friends or get good enough to solo the content
Don’t tell someone to Get Better™ and find more people to play with if you’re not also offering to help them.
Doesn’t seem like any of them are asking for help. All i see is the straight out refusal to participate as a group and the demand that Anet change content so they can solo it.
Maybe if they’d ask people would help. Just sayin’

Work for it, like every other guild out there.
Or do exactly what Colin said and use the LA HQ as your hall. Either way you have options. At this point i am proud of the stance Colin and Anet are taking in regards to halls.
In the story quest “Bitter Harvest”, the achievements “Line of Fire” and “Untethered” are bugged. I’ve tried multiple times (after completing it once as just the story, on the same character), and I was able to get the one for jumping from the top of the helix, but those two repeatedly elude me. And apparently I’m the only one with this issue, as googling it returns nothing. :/
I can confirm Untethered being bugged. I’ve run through that part twice without being remotely touched by the vines, no credit. (almost wonder if it’s like the avoid traps bug.)
I can also confirm a psuedo-bug with Line of Fire (doesnt show on UI) still can be achieved though.
