Tried to time it, tried to be a group, formed a squad, tried solo joins, tried one in at a time to lock down an instance, tried the Join in PvP from guild tab. All for not. We got lucky once with 2 of 3 people hitting same one but that was out of all the attempts. Just seems like there should be some way for the instance spawning logic to keep a group together. Maybe an alternative is increase the number of player in a single instance and up the NPC enemies.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Tried every trick could think of last night and no luck. This is disappointing since the event can be fun but would be more fun with people in my party versus each of us getting split up into different instances. There were only 3 of us at the time even and at one point one of us got a new instance but still couldn’t join in on them. At least the event should try and keep groups together or spam them a new instance.

Sorry but -1 here. If you have a spy, that’s a guild issue. The ability to see all guild member is a positive change and has come in rather handy in various facets of the game. This change should remain in place.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Only way to counter negative is to be positive. Don’t fall for baiting and don’t bait yourself. Bow or salute would have been better. Laugh is the taunt/mock in WvW. Your actions only exasperated the situation. Now granted I am all for blocking cross server whispers in WvW since it rarely turns out to be positive. But if you want a more positive experience then it starts with your own actions.

My post will be flamed but I will say it. I wish t6 mats (in general) and the lodestones + giant eyes were preserved in terms of rarity. With these new map rewards, they are being handed out like candies. I am not asking map rewards to be removed but atleast lower the drop rates of these map rewards.
They are low.
And how about no. The fact that there’s now a reliable way to get them is good.
The point is valid, T6 mats are moving toward becoming trash loot.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Home instance style harvesting nodes that are for the guild hall. Allow up to 4 of each type. Add them to the Black Lion chests as a ultra rare drops and allow them to be trade-able.
Multi-use (6) upgrade extraction tool that works for runes/sigils/agony. Add as ultra rare drop in Black Lion chests, trade-able.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Minor one here but when doing the Spider Scurry Rush if a transformed player is killed and does not take the ‘try again’ option to port back they can be hit by the invisible spike traps that are there for the spiders while running back through the course. Don’t remember this being an issue before. Not game breaking, just one to note.
Thanks!
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Gotcha, thanks. Didn’t see anyone DC’d when I checked but must have missed them leaving near end.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Not finding anything via searches so far. Why are some games in the history viewer showing as Byes even though they were victories?

Wait, no one went there yet? How could that be !!!!!!!!!
The answer is of course: BEARBOW!
As someone previously stated a long time ago, “I mean the things are terrifying and they live under water too! Terrifying I say!”
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Mission’s just reset this morning so haven’t tried the new weeks’ ones yet. That said, Trek and Rush went well last week. People received their side chest as they participated versus waiting till the end. PvP/WvW missions that were run worked as well. Haven’t tried the challenge after the changeover but what WvW mission bugged for you? Did you create a post on the bug section with more detail on which and where bugged?
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
There are pros and cons to the dishonor system. But either way, if you weren’t ready to queue, don’t queue. If you are in a group, that’s your issue with them if you are not really ready, but to apply that same issue to others outside of your group is even worse. This was meant to cut down this kind of issue so seems to be working. Emergencies will occur, but if they do odds are people are not going to care about getting a penalty. Also as stated above, if need be, wait for the pop and then take care of the situation while waiting for the match to start. PvP has enough hurry and waits without players creating more of them.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
+100000 as always. Would have map completion probably on a large number of toons if all that idle time could have been used in another fashion versus encouraging tabbing out of game to do something else while waiting. Granted right now it is advancing my Fallout 4 session as I wait for pops.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
This was raised on previous threads. There was a stated grace period to account for DCs. Based on your stated time that would seem reasonable. If you were able to get back in and finish the match that the DC occurred on, when did it hit you with the debuff? After the match? Did you submit a bug report as well?
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
+1 to ANet here.
The bigger issue is that people have short enough attention spans. The fact that you have people that have been at the content for a month and have insider information completes the new content on day one and then announces it without additional information leads other sources to say, look what’s the point. This directly impacts player’s impressions, sales and subscriber bases. It just sets a really bad form. This is also the kind of kitten that further requires more and more legal bindings in contracts and licensing and makes life more complicated in general for gamers where as gamers just kind of want to game. Now on top of that, profiting in game from it is just added insult. Don’t actually care about the raid content but that was in such bad form in various ways that makes you shake your head.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Has anyone determined if there is a way to end missions early if your guild has completed the requirements and members are done. Example, 21 minute rush. Rush was completed and all members that were running it had done so multiple times and we meet the requirements. Would be nice to have an option to say done to free up the course for the next group that was waiting and also allow members to move onto other activities. People were concerned that if they just left they would miss their commendation if they were out of zone when the rush ended. Anyone find a way to do this? I understand you don’t want this to auto-complete in case you have member still running but there are times when you are done early or way early in more extreme situations, hence a way to trigger the ending.

Will it fix all the gameplay bugs that are complained vastly by the players or it will just only contain raid content?
After enjoying Guild Missions in the last few weeks.
My best guess is, it will mostly contain raid content, include a few bug fixes and introduce a lot of new bugs.So optimistic^^ But yeah, the guild missions have been… Interesting. A whole new level of challenging content when trying to debug the missions to get rewards.
And a challenge to patience waiting for Rush to finish before you’ll get your rewards. Nothing like sitting on your kitten for 15+ minutes.
At least you could sit on your kitten. Half of my guild had to run in circles at the last checkpoint. Our rush should have failed but instead it finished and everyone got their chest. Even people that did not participate.
Agree, been trying to figure out if there is a pattern to the guild mission issues, be it the rush chests and the PVP missions rewarding even when failing. At least the not having people in the team and winning issue made since once that was determined. You know, didn’t test to see if the people not getting the reward for the rushes were not linked into any defined teams, shouldn’t be related since teams should be just needed for PvP, but just thought of that one. Will need to check that pattern tonight.

Will it fix all the gameplay bugs that are complained vastly by the players or it will just only contain raid content?
Should we start writing bad reviews on HOT if it doesn’t contain any bugs fixing?
With such general statements I am sure it will fail for you. Even if its not documented since they are not the best at that part, ANet usually addresses some bugs each patch even if they don’t advertise it. Even if they did, the way that they might phrase it versus the way a player might describe it potentially would not match leaving people in the belief that it wasn’t addressed. So will it fix ALL, no. Just go plan on that now. As always the forum contains mostly us forum warriors that are here because we should be doing other things and a majority of the subs are off and about being productive and/or are out in game enjoying themselves. Now, out of curiosity, since I do watch these forums for guildies when we do run into bugs, which bugs in particular are you hoping are in the patch? Or by all are you that concerned about Charr horn clipping that I don’t really care if they spend time on versus issues like map completion reward issues for people with 100% Tyria completion? And that later is more for friends, haven’t run into any game breakers that prevent me from enjoying time in game personally.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Oh and you might want to question what gear and build make up you are using and ask yourself if that makes sense in these zones.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
These are the first maps in the game that you truly need to explore. There is nothing to explore in the standard maps since they are flat and if you head in one direction you will get there. Do these maps frustrate me at times, yes. But that’s a good thing. We have something to figure out and understand. Just this weekend found a much more simple way to make it to a point in the map that I had been at before. There was a fresh discovery at that point that was new and interesting and made me question other routes I was taking. This is a good thing.
As far as masteries to defeat NPCs, haven’t unlocked yet any that aid in that case and have made it all the way through to Dragon Stand and events there. So that’s a matter of playstyle and the difference in the NPC in these maps versus traditional maps. So take your time, get to know the maps and mechanics in an area before moving to the next and each area will make more sense. Plan on getting lost, its part of the concept of the zone. Don’t expect the old, need 100% map completion though either. There are sections that are supposed to be more secluded that will require masteries to travel too but those do not limit you moving around or progressing to the next map. They wanted players to have some back and fourth to areas as we go versus create wastelands as areas are abandoned. And if you are still overwhelmed, get friends and guildies to give you a hand or step back into Tyria and wind down before going again. People requested more challenging areas and seeing some feedback on the forums that’s working.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Have been playing on a regular basis since launch, about 4-8 hours/weekday, much longer on weekends, and have barely cracked the surface outside of finishing the story on a toon. Have some toons with their elites done but a number to go. Not to mention the time that this has taken away from WvW/PvP/Fractals and other things. As expected with any expansion some people will blow through content and then say what’s next. They haven’t even activated all the pieces yet since people are trying to get a grasp on what’s there currently before more is thrown at the mix. Each to their own, but I prefer the more measured pace in which things are being activated. Only regret so far is I wish they have more Blood and Madness up or delayed HoT by two weeks while the holiday event was up.

So, how am I supposed to do the hero points?

This will be an issue the longer that HoT is out. One consideration is converting the HP in the new maps over into events that tie into the meta-events for the zone so that there is a reason and reward for people to re-do them over time and allow people that are late or ranking alts more odds of finding other people doing them. Some of these fights are challenging as well and it would nice to have a reason for people to re-do them.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
If DH gets nerfed next are Revenant -> Scrapper, Druid -> Chrono.
Maybe not in that order, but ppl will cry about them, mark my words.
I think you are close here.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
That would be counter of having a forum at all. Where would we all go to then? Oh wait, there is reddit where people can make even more blown up statements.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
+1 options for whispers would be appreciated. Its nice to send and receive nice fight whispers but, most don’t go that way. If you/or they are blocked the whisper shouldn’t go thru and the time out on the blocked option is a good idea.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Playing this encounter with a number of people live at the time the scene impacted us. A lot were in the state of disbelief and it triggerred emotional ties so I would say in that regard that ANet succeeded. Its also brought more empathy to Braham’s character and added new depth to him. As far as Eir being in a state to fight, to me the turning and facing down the vinetooth translated into this, but no, considering the state that people were in after being released I wouldn’t expect much reaction time from Eir. The same creature dropped rested members of the players own group pretty fast as well when replaying the scene solo told a story as well.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Not at all. Its a lot of content all at one time so only thing that is off it trying to find activities that everyone wants to do at the same time, therefore it is fragmenting some play since people are going in various directions. That by itself should be an indicator that there is a lot to do.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Does anyone know what the new logic is with guild teams and how the initial MMR is calculated? Reason I ask is just had an example of an extreme MMR mis-match. First off was on an account that was less than 25 hours old. Match making paired a full 5 man guild group versus 5 pugs, one of which was said 25 hour old account. Only thing I can think of is maybe the new MMR code is not calculating a guild’s group MMR but starting them at 0 which creates mis-matches. Just curious if anyone had seen anything. Good hunting!
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Looks like there were multiple threads on this.
Run fractals with a regular group and not really noticing any issues with drop rates when the group has been sharing what they got. Still seeing ascended: rings, infused, weapon boxes and armor chests and fractal skins. Had a member even this week get a precursor drop on the Uncategorized fractal.
Have had guildies be hit by what appears to be DR. After they actively did other activities between runs they were getting rings, and armor boxes where before they were just getting emp. stars. Are you just running straight fractals or mixing it with other activities too?
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Sorry OP, but would prefer more things NOT be account/soulbound. I understand your point, but there are already very few items in game that have any coin value already and would prefer not to see that population diminish.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Anyone find where we can acquire the new runes, example Superior Rune of Thorns or its recipe?
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
No. Love the new map, so much more diversity to it versus alpine. Example: had an awesome fight last night on a tight stair well you had to be very mindful of your positioning else you could be knocked off and killed. Added an extra depth to the fight that was missing in the flat maps.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
I don’t know about you, but a bit tied up with getting everything in place. PvP allows insta-geared. WvW takes a wee bit longer, not even mentioning the guild halls and getting the WvW War-room in place. So how about giving your guild mates a hand and getting new infrastructure in place versus crying the sky is falling on the forums, yes? WvW is a major part of the end game and ANet effectively just released the start of the game again, that takes a bit of time.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Shouldn’t make a difference but all the ones that I have attuned so far I put the attunement material in first. At work so can’t test if that might be part of the issue.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Short answer: love the new maps. Longer answer: have so much to do in game right now between getting specializations in place to guild halls to be able to craft WvW items to pvp to focus on practicing new specs and that leaves little time to focus on just one thing. The potential of various fights on the new maps is vast. WvW players are slow to react to change since they only see it occasionally. I would expect about 2-3 months before WvW population fully returns.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
I was hoping that once you open scribe you would be able to put them in your collection. If not this really should be able to be stored.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Have to agree, it’s ok to challenge players. Its ok to make a player ponder, can I solo this, might need a hand here. If content is lightened then I hope that it has coding to ramp up as more people appear to increase the scale of the event.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Lock the dungeon until the issue can be addressed. And yes these same players will be back saying, what now?

+1 as well. Loving the extra time after the match and the ability to see who was grouped with who. That last bit alone should remove the questioning on ‘was that a pre-made?’.
I think my only complaint would be that this, among others would have been patch note worthy bullet points. Well done ANet!
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
I do not really catch your idea. Since precursor is just rnd there are people who got multiple ones with ~ 200 game hours and people who got zero with ~2000+ game hours. And all the things that cost a lot for the collection are time gated crafting stuff whose price rose dramatically. And why would it actually matter if we devalue the price of unbound precursor since they are just pure luck drops and there is nothing which really deserves a reward in form of a few hundred gold just because someone got a lucky drop?
In its bare essence, the more of a thing, the less value. If suddenly everyone has the same legendary then what’s so legendary about. I agree about its just a random drop today, but that is itself still part of what makes you say ‘nice’ when you see one. I expected this process to craft a precusor to require a lot. Would prefer that this not be simplified nor cheap. But that’s my 2 cents, but if I work towards one I want to finish and feel that it took a lot to get it done, else it will not hold value.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Maybe in cities and zones up to lvl 40?
That could work. If the point is mentor, above 20, you kind of should have a really good grasp of the basic game.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Have to admit would prefer the mentor tags had more of a limited range of visibility to keep them distinct from the existing comm tags. Understand the different symbols but this should be a much more scaled down version. Example maybe its only usable in starting zones or only appears on the mini-map.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
First, have never gotten a precursor drop. That said, the value has been set by the community over time since these items have been out there for quite a while. I am not saying that they used this value to determine the value of any items you might gather but no if they had made the cost to acquire them cheaper then they would have devalued the item itself which would ruin the idea of a legendary. If anything would prefer that the cost to manually make then be even higher than current TP prices, that’s what makes these drops so precious. Its the end game for loot drops.

It would help to get a general, or detailed if available, breakdown on where the points total to the 400 mark. Talking with various people in game last night and a lot of them are fine with working towards cosmetic ends as long as the core abilities and mechanics are in place earlier in that 400 mark so that they can effectively play the class sooner rather than later. The other point that would potentially help people understand more is a sample of how many HP are in the first map that people encounter so that they could gauge more of what to expect. I like the goals to work towards but can get their excitement on wanting to be able to play the new elites through the new content as well. Will have to see what today holds.

Again, they have stopped responding because it blew up in their face. I feel so bad for those who have to work with the customer end of this game because there are devs behind the scenes that have no clue what the player wants.
Actually curious now, what time zone are you? Its now 7:42 AM. Some of them might be there, but the ones that manage the customer and various teams are probably on there way in. And then there will be time for people to summarize a night’s worth of responses, check on critical issues with the builds that are currently running and such and then discuss with team members from there. I am not saying I am happy with how the information was relaid and that a more expansion blog posting wouldn’t have been better and include more core details but forum goers really don’t encourage dev’s to make more postings since if your not super careful you will excite someone either way. I don’t doubt that this thread doesn’t have enough hits already to have their attention so will expect to see more about this today in one form or another, but maybe let them make a cup of coffee first and catch up?
