The class has flaws and can’t get above Tier 2 in general. However your skills will decide 60% of your placement. It’s hard to achieve Tier 1 (Top tier), but possible.

Literally no one has the capacity to reveal the secrets of how to Mesmer, and so we get bottom tier’d all the time.

Pretty much. Sadly you think that’s irony.

What format are these tiers for and where are these being discussed? Im just curious.

It’s a psuedo-scale and assigned with contrived methods and follows a blatant pattern of a hearsay/lemming acceptance. Some take it pretty serious obviously despite it being inherently fallacious.

300 gold for a tag color is too much

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tman.6349

I think just making a “standard” tag for the 300 gold and then making a ‘compendium upgrade’ that would allow you a select color pallet (for another 100-300g) would have been the proper way to go about this if they DO, in fact, feel the need to charge for the color changing in the first place. What if you decided to spend another 300g for a red tag for organizational purposes but then it happens that the only other Commanders on the map happened to only get the red one as well? Well, then someone’s 300g is going to waste and the system is still only 2/3 as effective of what we have been asking for for ages. I find it unacceptable that people who design a multimillion dollar game could not understand this after the players themselves hashed this all out VERY well many months ago….

What they should really do is revert the stupid 4/15 update that allowed the MF to drop lvl. 76+ weapons even with 4 lvl. 80s. They increased the Legendary demand with the Wardrobe AND they decreased the supply of Precursors by adding non-80s into the forge tables. High prices is the ONLY thing that could happen with these two changes. So…either the Devs are daft or the prices are ‘working as intended’.

Because any of those classes have as much stealth as a thief? Stealth is the thief’s mechanic, the other classes don’t have anywhere near as much in comparison.

When you consider that mesmers don’t get revealed when attacking from stealth, they can spend almost as much time per minute stealthed as a thief.. The other two don’t have the same access but that’s hardly valid when talking about ‘balancing’ a mechanic for one profession but not doing the same for others that use that very same mechanic. If stealth is going to reveal, it should ALWAYS do so.

I agree fully with the above two posts ( I do prefer MA for group settings though). One thing I’d like to add to it is that FT has great synergy with ‘on crit’ sigils and traits. I would strongly recommend ditching HGH and picking up a Sigil of Strength. Like Shadow said, HGH damage increase is more than offset by all the potion gulping and tossing that you have to do to keep it up. You’re also better off leaving some room for might from other sources b/c it is even common in PuGs. Also, HGH, by it’s nature, encourages you to waste valuable cooldowns for a few stacks of might. You’re better off using those for either blast finishers or for defense, given the close-combat nature of the FT. With Runes of Strength, a Sigil of Strength, blast finishers, and Juggernaut, you should have no problems maintaining around 19-22 stacks of might on yourself leaving a small bit of room for might from elsewhere and rendering HGH trivial anyway.

Putting a drop in this bucket that will never be read by the devs but anyways….

I just returned to the game about a week and a half ago after being gone for 8 months. This megaserver is a great boon, especially to those who are new or levelling an alt the old way. Gone are the dead maps where no one was doing events (Bloodtide Coast comes to mind). However….

Currently I am not sure Temple Events are linked to occur at the same time on the servers the way World Events are. Not sure exactly why but they can not be monitored for time/activity like world events, and this makes it very hard to get into a Temple Event unless you are right there staring it in the face when it starts.

Can we get something done about this?

Pretty much. This is the ‘catch 22’ of the whole Megaserver issue G. (Welcome back by the way.) It revolutionized some aspects of the game that were having huge issues, ie. barren maps, permanately contested waypoints, and events that were never completed.

It also made some places very crowded, put ppl that wanted to play together in separate instances (guilds/friends/etc), and made it so some events, like temples, are always completed and in defense mode.

That’s the crux of the whole issue and the reason we have this thread. Devs are definitely reading this thread or, at least, skimming it, because this is kind of a big deal for the last 3 months. The problem is the issue is mostly either completly polarized (love it or hate it) or completely lukewarm (love some of it and hate other bits).

Anet seems to have went with the most logical reasoning: more people would logically have a problem with not having enough friends to play with as opposed to too many. Have you ever thought, “dang it! I have too many close friends! I need to get rid of some of these kittens!”? Developers of an MMO seem to think that wouldn’t be the case. So we got corralled up together.

Heh…

A sane person would think that. An animal hoarder wouldn’t.
While I’m not saying we’re “kittens”, well not all of us, it is interesting to note that many of the same consequences seen in animal hoarding apply here in the great Megaserver mess.

I think you may also be confused as to what constitutes a “close friend”. Personally, and I recognize I may be wrong in this, but I feel if you have 100+ “close friends” – I would say you probably have none. Ripping me away from my server community, breaking my guilds ability to stay together, and flooding the map with apathetic strangers just doesn’t cut it.

At the end of your post you even went so far as to trivialize the vast majority of posts in this thread as being “Yay or Boo” … Imagine you thought you were being cute? There are a LOT of great posts, extremely constructive and thought out responses. They are there. But after nearly 4 months of living with the Megaserver, 47 pages of feedback in this one thread alone, and little to no word from the powers that be…. I guess it must be so surprising that responses given both for and against the megaserver seems oft repeated.

Does that take away from each individual post?
Kitten No.

‘Close friends’ wasn’t a direct ‘real life’ corelation but an abstract comparison b/c this is a video game. It was a reference to one of the very vocal complaints coming from the low-pop servers/maps, as was the highlighted anology and my take on what the Devs’ thinking was. Some people where made happy with Megaservers and some people feel they were completely neglected in the entire though process.

My ‘Yay’ and ‘Boo’ comments didn’t trivialize anything. I was stating that “I am torn on the Megaserver” issue in the previous post incase you didn’t take time to come up with some context before you replied to this one. It did some great things for my gaming and it also broke some other aspects that I enjoyed. I made this fact very clear. I also made it abundantly clear that this was all my opinion.

Before you try to call me out for “being cute” (I prefer handsome) try getting a grip on what I’m actually saying so you can appear to know what you’re talking about. Furthermore, concern for the ‘validity of a bunch of posts’ seems a trivial stance when you make one to bash me w/o any context and say nothing relevant to the topic to boot. (Vague metaphors aren’t constructive.)

I really think the mini ui needs a massive overhall. I don’t see why it can’t be added to the hero panel the way finishers are where we select one to have ‘active’ per character and then use a keyboard shortcut to summon it once we’re in a zone. Just like the non-permanent finishers, it could list the x# available in your bank and that number becomes 0 and is grayed out if you decide to sell all the ones you have in that slot.

This would be more in line with the kind of Hero UI that people have been asking for for nearly two years now. Account Minis in the Hero Panel, a couple account-wide slots for food/nourishment/potions/boosters, and a few account-wide slots for merchant/tp/bank summoning items (VERY useful for the unlimited versions of these.)

This seems like a good idea for buying minis off the TP. The problem I see with this is that, unlike weapon skins and armor dyes, minis are not bound to your account. The ones that are bound can’t be sold anyway. I imagine there might be some coding difficulties that aren’t worth trying to tackle. What if you buy the mini but then put it back on the TP but it hasn’t sold yet? I know flipping minis is a poor example but would this new system be required to constantly monitor all your minis across your account because they can be bought and sold at will?

I’m torn on mega server for this posts sake. I think it was a nice idea in order to ‘fix’ low-pop servers w/o just destroying entire server communities. However, at the same time, they broke some things and destroyed some server communities. O.o It’s easy to see why this is a hot topic.

Why did they have to “fix” low-pop servers? There was nothing at all wrong with them. I like a low population server. That’s why I chose the one I did at the beginning. Now no matter where I go, I’m on an ultra-high population server, and it really annoys me.

The solution might have been to allow occasional free server transfers (say two to four weekends a year maybe?). People could gravitate towards the level of population that they liked until they found a suitable home. And WvW would (hopefully) not be seriously messed up if the free transfers happened infrequently enough.

Everyone gets to play “their way”. The world doesn’t get torn apart.

I’m not proclaiming that there ever was anything to ‘fix’ honestly. That’s why I wrote the sentence the way that I did. That’s also why this thread is a matter of opinions (“Feedback/Questions”). Some people liked how everything on their server was. Others thought areas were to over or underpopulated.

This fixed some peoples idea of a good time: no more roaming through the vast wilderness completely alone. It also broke other peoples experiences: RPers feeling completely neglected in the process as well as a lot of guilds. I don’t have the right or the will to estimate who’s feelings matter more. I can only help point out some of the shortcomings in hopes of getting a middle ground.

I’ve played on Kaineng since the day of launch. I played mostly with a small group of like-minded friends in both PvE and PvP and I liked that. I have ran dungeons/bosses almost daily since shortly after launch and was often completely irritated with how those systems worked with having to guest on a medium server. There once was a bug where you could only run dungeons with people from your server and two other servers you had played with that day (entering someone else’s instance used a guest past.)

I’ve been through all the ups and downs. Some issues were eloquently fixed while others remain or have even been made slightly worse, IMO of course. What doesn’t do any good for this issue is trying to wade through hundreds of emotional posts that are completely irrelevant. Yay for Megaserver! Boo for Megaserver! Would be the best way to sum up how I feel about it right now though. It seems like a lot of people are right there with me. That’s the reason it’s tough to get a hold on.

Find two others who will be commanders, set up a team speak channel, instant 150 people who will join you.
Or complain that the event is too popular and others are too lazy to set up more runs when you want to do it.

+Infinity. Exactly this. If “there are hundreds upon hundreds of people who want to do this event but can’t” and a few maps fill up fast with organized guilds, then that leaves quite a few players left to group up and do the event. Provided they are capable, all that’s left is some organizational skills. That’s where your will to do this event takes center stage. Make it happen.

Today I didn’t realize what time it was already after running a few dungeons. Tequatl was just 25 mins from spawning. " I’d like to do Tequatl," I thought. So I hop over to Spark fly to a nearly barren map, except for about 7 people standing around complaining that all the maps are full and they can’t get into a run. So I look at the LFG. Sure enough, there sits a good list of ‘lfg Teq taxi plz’ posts. “Yep, most of the already organized maps are full,” I realize. I see a mesmer standing by the others with a few ‘signs’ that I can take her serious out of the bunch. So I whisper, “Hey there! Will you please help me taxi some people into the map so we can get a run going?” “Ummm ok…but this isn’t an organized map…” “I know but it will be.

So we start sending up ‘teq taxi join map leave group’ posts like they’re going out of style. Bam! First two people we bring are two commanders who were also late to the party. “Helps us taxi into map please” within about 5-10 minutes, we’re all suppressed in the lfg and there are 100+ people standing around!

“Who’s running turrets?” “Who are gonna be are defenders?” Etc. “All not assigned to a group over here to the zerg for DPS please” Food trays go down, banners go up, a bonfire goes down and TP express goes up! “Come get your buffs and anything you want from the TP at the zerg and get back to your positions please” Still 5+ minutes till incoming. Fire fields? Check. Might stacks. Check. Tequatl goes down with 7 minutes to spare.

Those world boss guilds weren’t Anet’s doing. They were the work of people taking initiative because they wanted to accomplish something. They’re not mystical or extraordinary. They’re people who make things happen.

Don’t get Cultural T3 gear to start your dynamic return. You will only be disappointed. It only has ‘Rare’ stats and they are underwhelming for the price and not even a good stat spread. Getting good stats once and THEN customizing your look is the proper order of things and will save you a ton of gold and regrets. If you try to go for some epic look now, before equipping an adequate gear setup/build, you will only waste a lot of gold, time, and other resources. Find some decent looking Exotic gear (that you can stand to look at for a couple weeks) off of the Tradepost. After this, you can save your gold toward whatever cosmetic ends you desire.

What do you percieve to be ‘decent gear’ that costs thousands of gold? You mean the absolute pinnacle of GW2s flashy, obnoxious cosmetics, the Legendary Weapons? Of course those are expensive and your initial two month ‘foot wetting’ into the game (two years ago) isn’t going to earn you one of those. If you want statistically relevant gear, you can dawn a full set of exotics for 40-100ish gold. There is only one category in between and that is Ascended gear which is only marginally better than Exotics and only required for the highest tiers of one aspect of the game, ie. Fractals of the Mists.

Your 108 gold will net you a full build of ‘Meta’ gear. From there, you only have cosmetics to worry about unless you intend to do high level Fractals. Looks like there is hope for you yet. Pretty easy huh?

But you can believe anything you want. The evidence is on my side.

Are you really still doing this? Really?

Are you saying it’s not a fact that I’ve not said that the game has flaws that need to be worked on? Are you saying I haven’t said, in multiple places that the new trait system doesn’t work and needs to be fixed? Is that what you’re saying.

It’s an absolutely fact that I bring up things I don’t like about the game. That’s not opinion. That’s a fact.

I do have opinions that differ from yours. But trying to say that every post I make is positive and pro Anet is demonstrably 100% incorrect..

By trying to suppot that, you’re actually factually incorrect. That’s not an opinion. There’s no interpretation. You’re simply, demonstrably wrong.

That is a fact.

What he was was originally referencing was the fact that the numbers of views or posts can be incredibly misleading/lopsided when some (read:many) of peoples are just opinionated banter going back and forth with little validity to the topic at hand. You then proceeded to nibble at his bait by quickly getting getting off-topic/distracted by a completely trivial post. You then continued on to prove him correct by allowing eight posts to go back and forth without really saying something.

The first thing that comes to mind for buffing the Flamethrower w/o affecting other builds too much is a good FT GM trait in either of the Firearms or Alchemy lines. Flamethrower builds naturally go into one of or both of these lines. Alchemy would be a good option for people who don’t want to feel forced into an Ft/Elixir build. Firearms would be good for Ft/Rifle builds that don’t keep as many condis up. I think the upcoming changes are going to make it quite a bit better for utility purposes and for pure Ft builds.

single game with combat in all of history has a meta that develops to the point that you take the lowest amount of defenses as possible and maximise your offence. Whether this means dropping a healer, having a DPS perform as off-tank rather than a fully dedicated one, or just maintaining trinity roles but having each player do with the bare minimum of defensively attributed gear possible, it happens. In Dragon Age you have tanks, healers, DPS. People soon realised if you just stacked mages you could absolutely obliterate everything in front of you – and mages could also spec in to healing (or just use healing potions). Since their DPS was so high you didn’t need a tank to hold aggro when you could just make everything explode with incredible speed.

@Lil Puppy:This. We’ve said this numerous times as well as other things mentioned above.

Here’s the ultimate breakdown…

The Three Tenets of the DPS Meta:
1)We kill things fast because we can.
Damage grows exponentially the more you build for it.
2)We don’t slow down because we don’t need to.
Everyone has a self-heal, dodges, and damage mitigation.
3)#1+#2=More Loots
In a game all about having expensive, flashy cosmetics, random loot tables suck.
Getting more ‘crap loot’ is better than getting less ‘crap loot’.

There you have it folks. That’s it.

Will Anet ever make Non-DPS role important?

I want to be able to play the group PvE dungeons without the retaliation of the community for not specing for pure damage.

I would like the option to play more roles than just damage in this game.

Me too and I totally agree with you. Feels like ANET made only zerk build to take for everything.

Maybe(JUST MAYBE, doesn’t mean Im right) solution could be to buff and strengthen more mobs so people cant go with zerk everywhere

‘Zerk’ isn’t a build. It’s a stat combination. The ‘variety’ you seek (for PvE anyway), that has obviously eluded you comes from weaponsets, utility skills, traits, sigils, runesets, etc. Find 20 ‘Zerker builds’ of ANY profession and gear stats will be the only thing that is the same in 90% of the people you run across. Asking for DPS doesn’t necessarily mean “must be 100% [This] Meta build”. There are DPs concecration guards, dps shout guards, DPs staff eles, DPs might stacking eles, DPs Phalanx warriors, DPs Axe warriors, etc, etc, etc. Most of them will run their builds differently b/c people are different, but we ALL understand that you can’t tank or heal a boss to death. Since ‘support’ comes from skills and traits and has almost nothing to do with stats, why wouldn’t we put those stats to their most efficient use?

Suggesting that ‘zerkers are kittens’ because they want/don’t allow (implied:alienate) certain people in their group is a valid opinion. However, suggesting the Devs should ‘do away with these zerkers’ by alienating them and forcing others into their groups is simply ridiculous and a hipocracy.

Your post and your Sig share a similar bit of irony. “Nothing is real” is an absolute statement about there not being any absolutes. “Everything is permitted” is a completely subjective statement that requires blind belief for it to have any merit. O.o See where I’m going with this? It’s not a paradigm-shattering bit of profound thought, but rather a bit of self-contradicting nonsense.

Believe it or not, these ‘roles’ did exist toward launch. Dig ‘Anchor Guardian’ out of the archives, for example. The primary difference now is, after two years, people don’t suck at the game anymore. Dungeon groups don’t want to bring a ‘healer’ because there is no need for one at 100% HP (check out Superior Rune of the Scholar.) Dungeon groups don’t want to bring a ‘tank’ because mob aggro has virtually zero to do with defensive stats and is primarily targeted at highest damage and/or lowest HP players rendering tanks even more useless than healers. I don’t have the ‘dead horse’ meme on my tablet, but this issue… Meh, nevermind…see ya next week PHIW thread. /wave

Perhaps the idea of this trait isn’t so much the ‘classic Juggernaut’ idea (a ‘bruiser’ type of toughguy) but, instead, more like the ‘X-Men Juggernaut’ who’s power is in the building of momentum. Outside of Toolkit, Flamethrower is basically Engi’s ‘melee’ weapon. The added toughness from the Juggernaut trait (also gaining damage ‘momentum’) along with Air Blast and Smoke Vent perfectly illustrate the idea/usage of the Juggernaut trait and the Flamethrower itself, for that matter.

Running this setup, the Pistol/Shield weaponset gives gives you a ton of good utility to compliment the FT/Juggernaut setup. It gives you a second aoe/bouncing blind, a 3 sec reflect with optional knockback/blast finisher, a melee block/stun with optional aoe/inline daze and, the shield adds another 81 defense to go with the added toughness.

The bottomline is that Juggernaut is SPECIFICALLY designed for camping Flamethrower (believe it or not some people like that option.) There isn’t a lot that can be changed about this trait as it is pretty powerful for a master trait already. If a similar trait that expects you to camp a weapon, such as Forceful Great sword etc, had another 300 toughness added to it, there would be a lot of “OP!” QQing. Juggernaut can get away with this b/c that built-in pitfalls of having to CAMP a UTILITY SLOT to be most effective.

I like the trait as is tbh and, although nowhere near optimal, very few things in the game look quite as cool and menacing as my Magitech/Gasmask FT Engi. It’s good to finally see some changes that will put the potential damage closer to the sweetness of the look.

home portal stone explained

Here is an example; that one salt you keep stashed at w/e jumping puzzle for daily loot (shout out to blade shards), has this stone and a ton of mining picks. You log in to alt, grab your loot, port to HI to mine nodes and get daily gatherer then port back. All that took a minute and a half and now you can swap over to your main to do dungeons etc and save yourself 2-8s to boot.

This item really isn’t bad I guess. I will, however, state that we VERY MUCH SHOULD have ACCOUNT-WIDE buttons/slots for things like the HI Portalstone, HoM Portalstone, ALL of the unlimited harvesting tools and ALL of the NPC Summoning items (TP, Merchant, Banker). These are items were ‘account bound’ makes them cumbersome via inventory space/management or the trouble of having to load 3-5 screens to swap via the bank method. For people who use many characters equally for different things, I don’t buy these ‘convenience’ items because the way the are implemented is more of a BURDEN to my gameplay/style.

Another good one is terrain issues in CM. Often a mob will let knocked back/launched onto a tiny rock, table, or bush. This can ruin the whole run. Had the happen in almost every dungeon at some point at leat once. CM is the worst offender though.

What profession makes money ?

‘Classes’ are called ‘Professions’ in this game so your title kind of threw me off. All ‘Crafters’ can make money depending on acquisition of certain recipes or materials. I’m gonna be honest with you though. You’re probably not going to have much luck with people telling/explaining/exposing/advertising what it is that they craft for profit because that would naturally destroy their market.

Much like people who want flipping/investment tips etc, you’re going to have to do Rome research on your own and learn about supply/demand of certain prices as well as learning/tracking pricing trends of those items. It’s a lively, fluctuating market and takes some investment of personal time to make money this way. Unless you’re naturally gifted at these things, then you’re better off making gold by just playing the game.

*the vast majority of players will spend/invest far more into leveling the crafting disciplines than they’ll ever make back from them

The guild bank is only located there though right? That’s what I assumed the problem would be. Otherwise, Karizee pretty much summed it up.

Trinkets - Yes but which ones?

in Ranger

Tman.6349

Valkyrie armor/weapons mixed with Emerald trinkets is probably your best bet tbh. In wvw, toughness (you’ll get tough/pow/prec from emerald) is good for mitigating some aoe etc but wvw is also very condition heavy so a bit of extra vitality will help against that as well (call is vit/pow/fer). Using pure cavalier will be a huge waste w/o some precision and fury. You’d be better off going pure Soldier’s (PVT). I think Valkyrie armor/weapons with Emerald trinkets will probably give you the best balance of stats w/o going full Celestial. Good luck.

Is it a good time to bandwagon to ranger?

in Ranger

Ranger has been good for a long time. The skill-ceiling is just very underestimated to play the Ranger/Pet efficiently and well. That’s how we ended up with the controversial ‘Bearbow’ epidemic in PvE. Now might be a good opportunity for some to give Ranger a(nother) shot if they want to play primary bow though. Ranger being terrible, though, has just been a lot of ignorance about the profession from Rangers and non-rangers alike. At one point, “4Wars/1Mes” or “heavies only” were considered the ‘dungeon Meta’. O.o LOL! A lot has been rectified for different professions/etc since then.

From what we, in the dungeon community, can figure, mob aggro is entirely wrong from what ppl think (wiki needs updated to reflect this).

Mob aggro appears to go something like this in order of descending ‘initiation/resolve’:

First to enter mob aggro range (this is the weakest aggro but put here for clarity)
*First to strike mob w/ an attack (this is strong aggro but only lasts a short bit depending on the next two factors)
*Ally with the lowest health (this will quickly become the mob’s ‘fave’ especially if they started the initial aggro; very hard to break away from)
*Ally doing the most damage (this appears to be the strongest form of aggro and will quickly override the others depending on how early into the battle you launch your heavy assault; Berserker Eles are VERY FAMILIAR with this which adds a bit more skill ceiling to playing them; a glass Ele that initiates a battle with a heavy bit of damage will, most likely, maintain high aggro until either the Ele or the enemy is dead unless they lose damage output from kiting and/or another ally’s HP has dropped significantly; also being stealthed seems to reset aggro.
*the next few aggro mechanics seem very random and harder to track the priorities of but they are something like this
:
*ally with highest toughness
*closest target-able ally
*stationary ally inside aggro range (this might actually be higher up on the list)
*any others might include least boons, amount of conditions, etc but would be indistinguishable from the others listed most likely

So that is my aggro breakdown. It is BY NO MEANS official. It is only the ‘common’ interpretation of the game’s aggro mechanics that dungeon runners (possibly just me and my friends) have discussed as we’ve noticed these certain trends.

I hope this breakdown helps you as well as others. As for your particular situation in this fight, I’d say you quickly put out more damage than any of the other NPCs and, depending on your gear, you probably have less health than your pet or the golems. Also, as was stated earlier, LS2 seems to have some new mechanics at work as well.

PvE - Are Drakes too Good?

No drakes are not “too good”. The only place in PvE where your pet even matters is in boss fights. Cat’s excel here by far (with birds a bit behind). If you’re depending on “drake-cleave-is-so-great-omg” then you’re probably a bow-ranger and you’re doing it wrong in the first place. NO OTHER pet comes even close to the damage potential/output of the Jaguar. Dual cats is the way to go. Everything else is…meh.

I think that while although in some way a near necessity for the weapon to “feel good,” it would first have to go through a slight redesign so that autoattacking isn’t the main source of DPS. The weapon is already rage inspiring by how little effort it takes to play it effectively in PvP, people would have a fit if it just got net buffed like that, and the endless stream of “Ranger AA” QQ would never end.

More risk/reward factors while also giving the weapon a reliable condi stacking tool would be my vote.

I have to agree with Jc a bit here and I do think this would make SB overpowered in PvP. What I don’t think you guys are are taking into account is the amount of soft and hard CC that a Ranger/PET has at his disposal. I’m talking about a bit more advanced/intricate use of the Ranger/Pet’s capabilities of course. However, stunning, flanking, chain CCing an opponent while popping QZ and letting some SB AA fly is nothing to snicker about. It’s also EASILY executed in about 2-3 secs for someone that knows Ranger/Pet well. Anet can’t JUST balance the game around Average Joe, because, in the deep and dark crevices of this game’s build system are some nasty monsters that are not to be taken lightly.

That’s my couple copper anyway. Throw it in a wishing well if you’d like.

PS. YES, I say the profession is Ranger/Pet COMPLETELY on purpose.

Signets with the new update

As a PvP main Mesmer, can I have a free GM trait too plz? Think about it Anet.

I have 10 geared 80s and Ranger is one of my faves. Pretty excited about the changes and even more excited about other profession changes.

One VERY important thing about the signet change, IMO, is maybe less Ranger hate in dungeons for having signets equipped w/o any proof that they’re traited for productivity instead of a passive crutch. (?)

I, personally, only use signets situationally now when max DPs isn’t as much of a concern. (I’m glaring at you time-gated CoF, etc dungeon portions.) I’ve never considered for a second taking BM Sig over another trait-spread as a full melee Ranger. This will open up a few options/trade-offs for me that I’m looking forward too.

Oh…and WHOOT for my GS not being my ‘100% only useful as a defensive weapon while my heal comes off of CD’ weapon anymore. No way possible anything will compete with my main hand sword anyway. Speaking of which, after getting rid of the BM Sig trait, I’m now, for the first time ever, stewing over whether I should invest 2 more into MMS line for the 8.5% ‘guaranteed’ bonus damage.

Tman.6349

I don’t know if it was mentioned already so pardon me if it was, but one VERY important thing to consider is, how important is the downed/defeated player (what is their skillset) in the current situation? For instance, against a boss like Wahlen in CM, your reflect Mesmer/Guardian goes down…I don’t care, what my health is at or even if I might die, I will pop whatever defensive buffs I have off CD at that time and immediately rez them, as not doing so might cause a wipe for the entire party.

Most of the things I skimmed over were pretty solid groundwork for ‘rezzing rules’, but this is something I always pay very close attention to and think it’s an important thing to keep in mind.
