The birds get stuck on my pet, as well (from enemies). Only way to get rid of them in a reasonable amount of time is to swap pets. Silly birds!
That’s an Attack Bird. This thread is referring to the Falcon animation from the Ranger’s Swoop skill on the greatsword.
Lol, I realize that. But if we are bringing bird bugs with Rangers to the QA team’s attention, maybe they could fix both at the same time! =)
Indeed, but I think we should stick with BABY STEPS for improving the Ranger and fixing bugs. We don’t want to overwhelm them and have them throw their hands into the air and give up on a profession they obviously don’t care much about. Mesmers already tried the ‘barrage method’ and look where they’re at now…

Stealth is weak to AoE and channeled attacks. Working as intended as stated above.
OK. I can’t comment on that then.
This has been around for 6+ months. We still haven’t got any feedback despite a dozen or more threads about it. Swapping weapons doesn’t help nor does un-equipping the greatsword. I know this is not a player-side issue as I have seen many other Rangers running around stuck in this same animation. Only relogging or a loading screen seem to solve it for a bit.
Is it a constant barrage of loud booms or just a single loud pop that seems to happen completely randomly? There has been an audio bug in the game since launch where the game would randomly pop VERY loud. Loud enough to completely startle you. It can not be corrected by any volume control either. Anet has acknowledged it though but, we have yet to get a fix for it. It happens everywhere from cities to dungeons to PvP. As for a constant rumbling sort of booming, I’ve never experienced this so I can’t say much on that. As someone who specializes in car and home audio, the loud popping noise seems to be an audio lag problem which causes the speakers to overload and pop. This is why volume controls don’t help it and it also has a faint echoing sound to it.

Ranger is ‘an unparalleled archer’ though. The only other competitors are longbow warrior and short bow thief, both of which, a Ranger would destroy given a weapon vs weapon duel. This, however, has ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING on the fact that Ranger can “adapt to any situation” and that melee is inherently a superior choice. Being ‘an paralleled archer’ doesn’t change the fact that a melee Ranger is superior in a melee situation. It seems like you are ALL mistaken " an unparalleled archer" for ‘bows are (should be) the Ranger’s superior option". These are entirely different expectations/assumption and you should recognize the difference.
And ‘archer’ isn’t the only meaning of ranged combat. If you would like to argue this, then I’d be more than happy to wreck ANY bow Ranger with my staff Ele.

The ‘Master of Peace’ actually being the ‘Abomination of Desolation’? Seems legit but, where have I heard of this before? It seems familiar…
As far as rewards are concerned, why don’t you document/summarize your rewards in a T1 map vs. a T4 map and give us some tangible evidence that you are ‘wasting time’ by putting the effort into getting an organized map? How do you compare the value of your whims to the dedication of groups that MADE those maps ORGANIZED in the first place?
Ok, fair enough. Let’s do the math. During phase one of Dry Top, there are eight event cycles. During a T4 run, I can complete about 14 events in the first portion, for a total of about 41 geodes, give or take, plus six champ bags, plus additional dropped loot from scaled up numbers of enemies killed by a larger zerg. Then we do the Sandstorm event, which overs 6-7 events and 60-70 geodes, and three more champ bags (along with better scaled up loot). Furthermore, not only do you make more loot, but you also get a 30% discount on many items in the store. You make more and spend less.
Compare that to a T2 run, in which you lack the critical mass to burn down mobs nearly as quickly. Under those circumstances, it’s more likely that I’d complete around 8-10 events during the clear portion, for a total of around 24 geodes tops, 3-5 champ bags, and reduced loot because the events don’t scale up as much. Then during part two, we get about four of the events, for a total of 16 geodes and one champ bag, along with reduced dropped loot.
Now taken as a single event you’d do only once, that’s not a huge deal, but taken over the course of the LW cycle, if you do at least two runs per day for the 14 days of the cycle, the difference in reward level is 2800 geodes and 252 champ bags, verses 1120 geodes and 168 champ bags, so roughly 1/3 less champ bags and 40% as many geodes. You’d also have a significant reduction in the store, so their 2800 geodes would be worth more than 2.5 times as much as the 1120 a T2 player would earn. For example, if he converted all of that into lockpicks, he could get just over 186 picks. The T2 player, on the other hand, could only get 56 picks, only 1/3 as many.
It’s not an insignificant distinction.
and as for the time wasted on organization, if you only have time to do two runs per day, two hours of play, and you end up spending one of those hours trying to get into a T4 run, then you’d only be making 1600 geodes over the course of the event and 126 champ bags, not to mention spending an hour of your precious gaming time just standing around doing boring stuff like cramming on Join or refreshing the LFG tool.
And keep in mind that the Crown Pavilion event represented a considerably worse imbalance than even this.
Soooooo, what it sounds like you’re saying is that it is incredibly beneficial and valuable to take some effort to get into a T4 map and you’re not really ‘wasting your time’ AT ALL but, you are, in fact, SAVING yourself a HUGE amount of time and effort (according to your above “math/evidence” lol). WHOOT!! See how that works? For the sake of this thread I hope it sinks in. GL and happy gaming.
jiust log in once every 2 weeks, ..don’t play. in 6 months time, then play. Should have “lots of content” then.
to burn through in a few days, just as you would with an expansion.
That is not true, every 2 weeks content can finish in less than 2 hours so if u do the math for 6 months thats like 12 hours to finish all the 2 weeks contents. But if it was “Expansion” contents then it would last for months
You did not finish this content in less than two hours. I’m calling BS on thsi for sure. Unless you just followed a Dulfy guide after it was out. Anyone can finish anything if someone tells them how to do it.
Don’t forget to call BS on his ‘doing the math’ too. 2 hrs bi-weekly for 6 months would get you to 24-26 he’s…not 12. The rest of it is as well thought out….

@Smooth: When somebody’s entire premise is ‘I should be able to have my cake and eat it too’, then it is best to smile, nod, and go on about your day. There is no talking sense into somebody so obviously hellbent on this mindset.
@ OP: Ya, I’d like to get paid on my on my way to and from work, on my lunch break, or even while getting up and ready. I’d love to only have to go to work with the assurance that a few dozen other people are ‘on their game’ that day. These are things that ‘take away’ from my personal time/life. In the ‘open world’ that I work in, however, these are unreasonable expectations (read:demands) from a mature adult. If I want the ‘luxery’ of my family not living in a box, it is required of me to succeed in the prerequisites for whatever gives me the situational advantage to ensure that doesn’t happen. From this thread, it really seems like you play this game like a ‘job’, tbh.
Sigil libraries? Sigils tied to stats? Re-usable sigils?
You guys are thinking way too hard about this.
I present to you the Unlimited Upgrade Extractor!
For just 1,000 gems, you can kiss ‘kissing your upgrades goodbye’ goodbye! Have 8 or more 80s? Do a lot of min/maxing different areas? Expensive gear slotted with expensive upgrades making customization a pain? Don’t know what’s gonna happen to that 100g Runeset next patch?
Then I have the solution for you! Get your Unlimited Upgrade Extractor today!
PS.They’ll probably never add something like this because of some implications I won’t get into. I’m just looking for common ground. I even typed it like an infomercial to drive it home. As long as nearly every sought after item, title, bit of customization, etc straddles a very fine line between ‘achievable with some effort’ and ‘a complete pain in the kitten’, then it is working as intended and Anet gets the loots. GG.
(edited by Tman.6349)
Oh /violin was so funny after murdering half a dozen people in GW1 PvP. I miss that.
I like a good conspiracy to make me smile so, let me give you my take on the ‘logic’ with the Gem price of this item…make an item for the Gemstore, make the price of the item kind of ridiculous, then BUNDLE the item with some other overpriced, worthless junk to make people believe they are “getting a REALLY GREAT DEAL!!!! Whoot!!!” a and there you have it, people shell out 1000 Gems left and right. Anet wins. GG.
IMHO, this will never happen. Sure, it seems like a nice notion at first. I mean, it’s only a luxury item right? Well, Ascended Crafting is a HUGE material sink for the economy. These are the only items this would really benefit, tbh. Outside of Asc. gear, exotics are very affordable. The cheapest item in the Gem store is 35 Gems, I believe. That’s equal to about 5ish gold. That’s Berserker territory and, no offense, if you’re trying to swap Zerker stats then you’re doing it wrong. This year, for Festival of the Four Winds, they brought EVERY crafting material to the chopping block to get them ‘leveled out’. I’m sure some Thick Leather speculators took this as a direct assault, but it seems to me that As. gear just isn’t doing the job as well as they had hoped. I know it sounds nice but, consider the economic impact something small like this could have.
That’s a Sigil of Malice, just fyi. Signet is much different.
I think an evade would be nice. My suggestion: the antithesis of Heart seeker.
Body Shot: Evade backward with a quick shot to the chest, making your foe vulnerable.
Cast time: 1/2 sec
Evasion: 1/2 sec
Initiative: 3
Vulnerability: 5 stacks for 5-7 secs (duration up for debate)
100% damage <360 Range
90% damage < 600 Range
75% damage < 900 Range
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 900
There you go Anet, the thinking has been done for you. Make it happen
Edit: I have played P/P Thief since launch for the ‘cool factor’, though I do use other weapons due to their current superiority (except One ‘pure P/P build I’ve come up with).
As someone who’s been around since GW1 launch and mained a Sin/Thief in both, I’ve stayed true to the ‘thief theme’ w/o creating something overpowered. This would give P/P Thieves a much needed bit of survival with the evade and the synergy of the leap finisher in combo with BP Shot. The damage reduction at further range is important for balance, while, my proposal, as a whole, accounts for P/D Thieves as well.
I realize it’s a bit difficult to balance every possible use of drastically changing a particular skill and/or weapon set. I’ve tried to bare that in mind with this proposal and think it is fair and balanced while giving some added ‘skilled play’ to the P/P set over all.
(edited by Tman.6349)
Every pistol attack counts as projectile finisher. Plz don’t disregard this, b/c it can be very powerful with the right group composition. Hell, Sneak Attack is a 5×100% projectile finisher with bleeding built in. Thief p/p is an ‘all-or-none’ build though, tbh, so don’t expect much out of it as an offhand set. However, if you are truly interested in running a P/P Thief spec, PM me or get a hold of me ingame.
I have much more to add including a detailed plan for how it could work with minimal strain on the current system and contributing to a very positive environment moving forward. However, I’m very tired right now and the chances of the ‘right person’ with an open mind and the power to make change are very slim so I’m gonna go do something else now. Maybe, I’ll add some more tomorrow regarding the finer details.
Why can’t we just choose stats any piece of gear? You pick from the pool of all stats 1 major and 2 minor or celestial.
If you still want to require people to have multiple gear sets for multiple stats, make the stat selection permanent.
This is possibly the best solution.
This would be WAY TOO CLOSE to a GW1 kind of solution and we all know there will be none of that! /end sarcasm.
This would, effectively destroy crafting and require a major overhaul to the current system of stats. However, I think this is has Ascended/Legendary stats sh should have been implemented from the beginning.
Suggestion: From a CDI/horizontal progression, this would be an AMAZING opportunity for Anet to release a new tier of gear called ’Unique’’ (‘Custom(ized)’, ‘Personal’, ‘Hero’, etc.). Though the name of tier is trivial and not important, the concept is INCREDIBLE and would open the ‘floodgates’ for making a more diverse and less restricted build system, while staying true to the GW1 philosophy of "If you can imagine it, then you can build it!).
We already have dueling. It is located in Heart of the Mists where PvP belongs. Your prayers have been answered. Whoot!
(edited by Tman.6349)
Um, engie works just fine when you’re in a situation where:
1) You need both high burst and sustained DPS in a fight that can’t be FGS’d.
2) You don’t need stealth as long as the thief’s.
3) You don’t need as much reflect uptime as a mesmer or guardian.Of course you CAN take a thief for Arah skips or a mesmer for the SE golems, but you don’t really need that much uptime on stealth/reflect in either case and you’re just losing out on DPS, doubly so if you’re taking both a thief and guardian’mesmer instead of just one engineer.
The Engineer’s Toss Elixir U is actually more useful in regards to starting an encounter with projectile reflect/block as it is ground targeted and doesn’t take up a utility slot. Any Engineer ‘worth their salt’ should be very aware of the tool belt trick I’m referring to. Why not have a 10 sec reflect AND an AoE rez!?!
The title of this thread is ridiculous (though I prefer ignorant/stupid).
The professions ARE varied via THE BUILD SYSTEM!

This is NO GUAREnTEE, BUT I think I can resolve ALL of these ‘anomalies’ with a SINGLE question: Do have ANY or ALL of these signets equipped for for UNDERWATER combat?
(The caps are emphasized for a very reason.)
There is a bug associated with the cool down/presence equipped underwater, utility skills and this sounds like 100% of the issue you are having. It’s late so I can’t go into the full details, but do you have 3-5 signets equipped for underwater battle?
Answer #1: It doesn’t.
Answer #2 It disappears when you have left and changed instance.
Yes. Yes it does. As soon as you leave the party.
How about ppl looting your guild stash and then leaving the guild and EVERY trace or the person/records disappears? Isn’t that a superb mechanic too!? Ftw….
I’m just gonna be blunt about this…people who have found ways to make ‘a lot’ from a little’ aren’t just going to come right out and tell you what they do on a public forum for the most part. So many reliable ways of ‘tuning little into a lot’ have been completely destroyed when idiots post YouTube videos about “hey! This is how you can make some extra gold really easy.”
The fundamental problem with this is that once EVERYONE starts using that same method, it becomes obsolete. Unless, the people posting this videos are completely oblivious and/or stupid, they have to be fully aware that this is an inevitable consequence of people ‘bandwagoning’ once niche markets/systems. So other than the completely obvious and well-known methods of, "do this medium investment with only marginally higher return’ systems, don’t expect people to just bust out their niche market/system on a public forum in hopes of good will. It only destroys that very market and such an out came isn’t in ANYONE’s favor.
If you want to make maximum profits from minimal investment, I suggest you do what others do, in the first place to acquire ‘their’ profitable, niche markets. This includes research, diligence, a bit of intuition with a big splash of logic, tracking trends, experimentation, and a broad knowledge of the market. Read: ‘work’.
It is hardly in a persons best interest to say public ally, “well, I’ve found that I can get items x, y, and z in bulk for cheap and craft this high return item to make a steady flow of income.”
If you ran a BBQ joint that was very successful after you spent years into perfecting what people like and keeps them coming back, and then turn around and give Joe Shoe, your competition across the street, a warm welcome to the source of your of your local, organic meat supplier and the recipe to your special sauce? Or even yet, just publish it in the local paper or on a billboard. No, you wouldn’t. It would destroy you and your ‘special thing’ would become generic. I hope this makes sense as I’m not trying to be a jerk, but look at all the ‘how to make gold quickly’ YouTube videos that are now obsolete b/c some shmuck wanted a few more subscribers.
Tldr: Do some research. Learn the markets. Find what works for you and be ready to have to adapt when it becomes useless.
Good luck.
PS. This isn’t directed at the OP only but at the ’what do you do to make gold so I (EVERYONE ELSE) can to it too-ers.
Thala Brutalia (it even rhymes a bit for bonus points)
Oh wow..two identical threads in a row…
Cool and UNIQUE skins that you had to grind on a bi-weekly basis in order to obtain and have the feeling of ‘I was there through thick and thin’……ughhhh….wait…nevermind…I guess how it all feels meaningless now is pretty cool too.
Evans right about the +7% damage modifier on the Strength Runes. I do, however, think it’s pretty silly to say that +125 Power and +45% Might duration are insignificant. Add a Strength Sigil for just another 2.5ish gold, and with exotic Zerker gear and Fury, you’re looking at around +22% damage (traits not included) for this simple, synergistic combo. Hoelbrak runes are a cheaper alternative with some added condition reduction, but 15% less might duration. If you’re JUST after the might stacking (Phalanx Warrior I assume), you can get Aristocracy runes from CM as drops and for tokens (free) while still making gold from running the dungeon itself. They are a far cry from Strength, but are the only other runeset that offer the same might stacking ability. I used them for this long before Strength were made so superior.
Also, a lot of peoples impatience drives them to hop from one investment to another. It’s possible some people had invested in the skin (let’s be honest, it’s become a fad even with ‘casuals’) in order to turn a profit, but then dumped them to try to make a few gold and dump some more into the hopes of Phoenix skin profits or to get a shiny new Jade skin. As people that do a lot of trading, surely we can all agree that you can always count on ‘bad traders’ to throw a wrench in the cogs. This is just personal conjecture, but a very practical answer as well.
kittenING OP AS kitten
i love you.

The Play How I Want Anthem
by Joe Snowflake
I play how I want! All of you Zerkers are mean!
I think my bear and my bow, make a pretty good team!
I have a staff guard b/c a healing heavy’s OP!
I always report elitist b/c they refuse to teach me.
Elitists don’t have fun with us PuGs are too slow.
Just lift the condi cap and the condi meta will grow.
Plz nerf all Thieves, to stealth skipping, I say, “NO!”
5 signet warrior is deeps, “PLZ, LET ME SHOW!”
AP is so stupid! No I didn’t read the LFG!
So what if I’m a necro! We just need a trinity!
I ping zerk and wear clerics so plz buff my healing.
I have super PuG support, forget efficiency!
DPS races are so toxic and not even fun
FGS ain’t an exploit? You know that you’re wrong!
Why’d you nerf rewards? I’ve grinded too long.
WoW was much better! In a week I was done.
Dead DPS is no DPS! They should bring back the train,
So I’ll never get kicked with the DM title again.
All builds should be viable like clerics and then,
We could all “YOLO!” and facetank bosses as friends!
Let’s report dungeon sellers, I hate them the most!
Change these mechanics, they’re exploiting for gold.
Lilith owns all fashion! Nobody even comes close…
That’s a Dungeon Bingo, in one kittening post!
Also note that they are already aware of the ‘game changers’ coming down the road.
Sure we seen some price swings here and there for certain items. These were ALL high demand items and occurred right before or after HUGE additions/changes to the game. Sure, we had the Living Story farm fest that flooded the market with basic materials. This was immediately followed by Ascended gear crafting which relied, heavily, on those very same materials. Then there was the champ bag shenanigans that flooded the market with a hefty supply of T6 mats for several months right before the wardrobe system drove Legendary demands up rapidly. These price swings are natural as the game evolves and our speculation is trivial with the absence of knowledge of pending future game changes. Imagine if there never was this ebb and flow of materials and gold etc, yet these huge changes were made.
I think all this talk of ‘inflationopomgplznerf’ is primarily a noticing of extreme highs and lows of in-demand items with little context taken into account for what is responsible and why. Impatience will drive this mindset. If you have to have something while the market you’re interested in is fluctuating b/c of recent changes to core aspects of the game, then you can’t disreguard the others also interested in those things and then just chalk it up to ‘inflation has gone crazy’.
You can say there’s been natural inflation since launch, b/c each account started with 0g0s0c. That’s about it though.
(edited by Tman.6349)
There is inflation in gw2. Period. If John smith doesn’t agree with this, he’s a bad economist. However, put things in perspective, gw2’s inflation is much better then a lot of other mmo’s out there. It’s actually 1000 000 times better (litteraly), then certain free to play mmo’s. Prices of cash shop items (tradable, like double exp for an hour in a more grindy level mmo, 200 levels, lvl 150 takes 1 month to farm), went from 1 000 000, to 1000 000 000 000 ingame currency. So bad is the inflation there.
Guild wars inflation ranges from 1,2x to 2x (i got way to few data to be sure of it). But based on ecto’s, armor, weapons, t6 mats, precursors, cooking mats etc, i think it average’s out at about 1,5x to 2x inflation. Now John smith may deny that, but this estimation is made by a PLAYER, not a game statistics owning Anet employee.
I just relish in the humor of you saying, “If JS doesn’t agree with (me), then he’s a bad economist.” Then you proceed to make sweeping assertions while including condemning vocabulary like “maybe”, “about”, and, my personal favorite, “I got way too few data to be sure(I have no hard evidence to support my claims)”. Then you end with, ‘well, he can deny my assertions, but I’m just a player with hardly the amount of tools he has at his disposal to make a more informed analysis’.
#footinmouth
You can’t reflect a projectile more than two times. Just for fun, go to PvP ‘daul’ arena and have a friend bring a feedback mesmer. Have them cast feedback on you and then use daggerstorm. It’s that simple. The HP melt is pretty epic.
What about the daggerstorm burst inside a mesmer’s feedback? I’m not sure of the numbers but I know it does 40k+ in the first 1/4 second. It would have time to pulse twice given the above stipulations.
“would have done” is pretty hard to calculate when things like might, etc are taken into consideration per tick. What if the enemy was half a second from popping a mass condi clear? Many balance issues/scenarios where that idea wouldn’t work.
Final Thrust is good with the cripple sword brings to the table. I prefer Sw/A though personally. Try this: sword auto for cripple>whirling Axe (builds full adrenaline/can ‘chase’ enemy through the channel)>savage leap(close any space)>immediately flurry>final thrust. This is a highly mobile combo with a lot of control built in with heavy damage and is executed fairly quick. The rapid hits can sometimes cause panic responses, they build up quickly, and, generally, make final thrust do exactly what the name implies. Bulls charge>whirling Axe>flurry>final thrust can be pretty nasty too
A ton of people have been asking for this since shortly after launch. There’s been, at least, twenty threads about this and similar QoL additions. Another thing people want is an account-wide bag slot which could serve a similar purpose. One thing I would REALY
LOVE to see is 3 account-wide slots where you could put your ‘NPC Summoning Items’, such as the Trader Express, etc. (This would be HUGE for the permanent versions of these items.)
In addition to the food, nourishment, and booster slots you have in mind, I think a ‘consumables’ slot for things such as whistles, feathers, etc.
Unfortunately, after a couple dozen or more of these kinds of suggestions, we have yet to get a single ‘red response’. It be nice to hear, “great idea, we’ll look into making this happen”, or “your ideas suck, so give it up”. Just….anything really.
I don’t understand why the Wind one is so popular. Sun one is superior in all ways.
People need to Praise the Sun.
Maybe everyone already has their 732 different pieces of fire-themed gear and wanted something a bit different. The ‘wind aura’ actually manages to wrap all the way around your body, as well. I’m going to guess that has a bit to do with it. It’s nice. I do, however, understand you trying to get your hustle on, so…YAY for Sun Catchers!!
When everyone runs fast, no one runs fast.
That would be great. Maybe then I wouldn’t have to build my Guardian specifically to keep up with the WvW zerg.
Here we go…
Let me get a show of hands from any professions other than guardian, mesmer, and maybe necro, that wouldn’t be able to get around on the battlefield without guardians spamming symbols of swiftness.
Why are you asking about my native language other than some sort of condencension? I was never talking to you in the first place. You’re the one who put yourself into what I was saying. I was referring to other previously posted statements that are ridiculous. Groups don’t have guardians to be thankful for moving around with swiftness. I don’t care about T1 or how many times you make that bogus claim. It’s just not true. That would be like a thief telling a mesmer and a guardian, “it’s a good thing I was here with Smoke Screen so you guys didn’t get taken out by those projectiles!” Sounds silly huh? So people relying on guardian swiftness other than, maybe, necros, mesmers, and other guardians.
This thread is about passive speed buffs anyway. I’m done before we derail it any further.
I never said anything about ‘blasting statics’ did I? That’s more rediculous than guardians trying to take credit for other professions moving quickly. Just give it up. It’s OK. Just say, " Yes! I’m a guardian and I’m slow. Yes, it sucks, but I like playing guardian and I’m very dynamic in group fights but I have to bring this staff to keep up with everyone sometimes." Nobody is gonna make fun of you or call you names b/c they already know what the deal is and we’re thankful to have you by our side. But plz don’t say stupid things like guardians are responsible for groups moving quickly. Thief will leave everyone in the dust so fast it’s ridiculous. Engi, Warrior, Ranger, and Ele can all maintain swiftness on their own VERY easily. They also stack it on each other. That leaves Necro which still does OK but can fall behind w/o certain setups, and then guardians and mesmers with their 2-3 short applications of swiftness. Do you even play other professions or understand how crazy it sounds for a guardian trying to take credit for anyone’s movement speed other than their own?
No they don’t and that math ‘sure does look well thought out’ but we both know it’s contrived and meaningless. A for effort though.
No group relies an guardians for swiftness. They already have plenty of their own, for starters, and that would be like relying on the moon to light up the afternoon sky. The sun is already out so the moon doesn’t matter, and, even if it wasn’t, the moon is an unreliable light source. Much like guardians and their staves. “OK! Everyone single-file across this open plain so the guardians can stack their swiftness!” Lol you’ve got to be joking. The only people relying on guardian staff to run is other slow guardians and mesmers.
(edited by Tman.6349)
Lol. Guardians’ staves are responsible for EVERYONES’ swiftness. O.o One of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. You realize that EVERY other profession has at leat twice the amount of swiftness that guardians or mesmers have right? Four of the other 6 have easy access to permaswift, and thief blows everyone out of the water with Fleet Shadow. LoL Guardian staves. Pfffft.
This has never worked with passive increases that I know of…be it signets, sigil of momentum, banner of defense, or strength in numbers. This and similar traits, I believe, only work on base stats. Base toughness plus stats from equipment, runesets, and toughness from the trait line. I don’t know if it has something to do with possible power creep or just the wild calculations that would constantly have to be done to check for condition damage with using said runeset combined with other variables I already mentioned.
I can tell you this is consistent across the board though, as all other similar conversion effects are treated the same. For instance, a precision to [insert stat] effect would have to account for +420 precision while fury is in effect. Something like power to [insert stat] would have to account for +875 power with 25 stacks of might active. I hope you see how this could get out of hand from a balance perspective and from a computing perspective.
Tldr: working as intended.
If by AR you mean Armor Rating then no, you won’t see a single total figure only the ‘base’ rating for each piece posted. You would have to total the individual values yourself, or accept their word for their actual AR total including any other boosts/bonuses.
If you mean Achievement Rating, also no – that you would only see if they were in the same guild as you and could be checked in the guild roster screen, or added on your friends list.
All ‘tagging’ gear does is show you what items they have, what runes/sigils/infusions are on them – and give an idea how much they spent in time or gold to acquire them.
Neither are a real indication of actual skill or ability – so always going to be an element of trust or judgement involved.
LMFAO hahahahaha.
He’s talking about agony resistance buddy. Those are the infusions you mentioned.
BTW, yes you can see the APs of anyone in your party by mousing over their portrait.
I don’t really see how ‘gear pings’ make a run any harder unless they don’t actually have the required AR, which will be painfully obvious very quickly in a high level run.
