I use it for my zerker set. In my opinion, it suits an Elementalist moreso than the other professions (thematically). Similar to how the Arah set suits a Necro so well.

I believe dungeons to be fine. One of your arguements is that you are almost “forced” to be in a guild to have a competent group and that it should not require that. I find that odd in a multiplayer game called Guild Wars. Meet some new people, build a solid friend list, and join a guild.

I don’t know how I feel about this being moved to the suggestions forum. This is not simply a suggesion or idea for possible future content. This is a change that must be made. To be completely honest this is more of a demand than a suggestion.

This sub-forum also gets less attention than the General forum, I find.

Either way, this needs to be done. One of the first things I learned about design while studying architectural is that a building must first be accessible and practical before it can be unique. This is true even for video game design.

POLL: Would you like level cap to be raised?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Toxyn.9608

Toxyn.9608

NO

While I can easily adapt to a new cap and obtain the next tier of gear, raising the cap would hurt GW2’s ability to draw new players in. If the cap keeps increasing then new players have to play that much longer to get to the “endgame”, which may make many casual players quit before they get there.

Toxyn.9608

Hello

I realize this has been mentioned before, but it can not be stressed enough:

There needs to be an option ingame to change the red circle to another basic color. White, Black, Red, Blue, and Yellow would be enough in my opinion.

The reason of course is colorblindness. Myself and others have major issues with the red circle on many textures. It is also so feint that I have to focus on the ground instead of the boss to stay alive. This is twice as bad when the boss uses both circles and visual cues.

Keep in mind I am a decent player, I have Dungeon Master, so I am not asking for this option as a sort of crutch. It simply NEEDS to be added with priority.

Please, I am almost begging at this point. Add this accessibility option.

A plea to nerf Dwayna (Arah p4/Seer path)

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Toxyn.9608

Toxyn.9608

Simin does not need to be nerfed. I wanted a pre-nerf kill before the 28th (it didn’t end up getting nerfed), so two guildmates and I arranged a group for it the Saturday night prior. We pugged two people from gw2lfg.

Our group comp was two Staff Elementalists, two GS Warriors, and a Mesmer. Our two elementalists kited the sparks. Our Mesmer was on Tear duty. Each member was over 3.2k Attack with +20% Damage vs Undead from Sigil + Potion. I can’t speak for the specific stats of the others, but my Ele was at 3325 Attack, 64% Crit Chance, and 109% Crit Damage.

After a few attempts of perfecting spark kiting and time warp usage, we got to a point where we were killing her faster than she could heal. Kill came on the next attempt.

It is perfectly okay for ONE boss in the game to be tuned to require organization. The vast majority of the game can be solo’d or pugged – gotta give the 1% their content!

Gw2 must be doing something right if a complaint is that there is a lack of “running” involved. Still not 100% sure what you are asking for.

However, I recommend finding a few other like-minded people and maybe create a “run from City A to City B naked” kind of race. Obvious rule being no waypoints allowed.

Incoming Mounts??

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

No combat and speed advantages because mounts then become mandatory instead of cosmetic.

No WvW use because I view PvP type modes as very “fragile”, it should remain purely about the players…hard to explain and moreso opinion.

No use in cities because it gets obnoxious seeing large mounts crowding hotspots/npcs.

No flying mounts because we’ll see less people out in the world, they would instead all be hovering 50 feet up.

I don’t want mounts, but if they were added I would want them to:

Not provide combat advantages.
Not provide a speed increase.
Not be useable in WvW.
Not be useable in racial cities and LA.
And no flying mounts. Ever.

As an aside, one Hoelbrek load screen shows Norn riding what look to be Bison, but probably Dolyak. And yeah, I want one.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I am strongly against mounts. However, I’ll play devil’s advocate with my own opinion because you make a good point.

If mounts did exist, Dolyak is the only mount that should be made available. It is the only large, sturdy animal that we widely see used for travel ingame by the npcs. Keeping the mount mechanic restricted to just this one animal would satisfy both the people who want mounts and the people who don’t want to see WoW 2.0. Of course mounts would also need to be unuseable in cities. The amount of waypoints would also need to be reduced.

The problem is, my gut is telling me that many people just want mounts for the “look at me!” appeal instead of wanting them for the mechanic (speed increase) that they are for. We would instantly see forum posts asking for mounts of every flavor. “I want a Branded Dragon mount!”. “I want a DESTROYER Dragon mount!”.

It wouldn’t stop there. We would see posts claiming “victory” over the developers and then somehow using that as a basis to demand flying mounts. People will demand that we should be able to use mounts in cities.

These people will never be satisified. Oh, and when the developers do enevitably cave into their childish demands? These same people will complain that the world now feels smaller.

So my 4000+ ACHIEVEMENT points are rendered useless because you want to implement new type of achievement tokens. If you think i will do all jps and sjit all over again, think again. Just increase loot drop chance; tell us where exactly precursors drop and leave us farming in peace. You constantly add “new” stuff to the game but only thing that players need you will not;and that is the loot. Sorry but i personally hate to play this game simply because drops are kitten.

Coloring Weaponry to match armor

in Suggestions

Posted by: Toxyn.9608

Toxyn.9608

My ears! What an intriguing notion.

Not sure the coding is already in the game though, the dye is sure. But since the weapons aren’t dyeable now that likely means they do not have dye zones broken down the way armor does. Which, if that’s the case would mean editing every single weapon to first add dye zones, then edit the weapon’s texture sets to include all those other colors. I could be entirely wrong but that sounds like a rather huge undertaking >.<

Would like the feature though, so here’s hoping I’m wrong!

The way I see it is that this is something that needs to be added to complete the dye system. While it may take a lot of work to set up dye zones, it will take even longer if it is added in the future after new weapon skins are created.
