Phase 1
Bring Simin down to 50% HP.
She will stealth.
Deliver sparks before Simin regains 10% HP.
If you succeeded, move to Phase 2.
If you failed, repeat Phase 1.

Phase 2
Simin’s stealth mechanic becomes time-based.
If Simin reaches 60% HP at any point, go to Phase 1.
Continue spark deliverance until Simin is killed.

What is more believable; That you are letting Simin reach 60% HP each time, causing an infinite Phase 1 loop which you are perceiving to be a bug, or that this is a bug that effects you every single time?

I was wondering if it might be like the doppelganger in the Augury Rock mission of GW1 – actually literally based on your own character. That would make it “personal” and would explain how any of us would recognize the person no matter which story branches we chose.

I think you nailed it. It would explain the hardest criteria to meet (must be recognizable by everyone).

The blog states that we will recognize this person. I’m hesitant to state that this means that the person is universal to all storylines. Meaning you meet this person in either the Order arc, Pact arc, or in a Dungeon arc. In my opinion, they also cannot assume we played GW1.

Then we have the term “sassy”. It is a loose term, usually meaning smart-mouthed. Someone who is sassy is usually quick to retort and antagonistic for the fun of it. A troll, basically.

Then we have the “personal nemesis” line. Either we already did something to offend this person in some way, or we will at one point is the Living Story. A nemesis is usually made through a political power struggle or through violence.

I fully support hard modes in games.

However, I can see many players feeling entitled to besting hardmode and obtaining its rewards. If implemented, it would need to be made absolutely clear that the content is not meant to be accessible by the entire playerbase.

If you can’t beat Euro Extreme mode in the MGS games, you don’t write a letter to Hideo asking for the next game to be easier. Hell, Hideo would make the next game harder out of spite.

If your warrior is taking hits for half his health by mobs at a lower level than you are, it is not the fault of the profession. Warriors have the tankiest armor class and the highest base health pool ingame.

Are you using gear at your level?
Does your gear have upgrades applied?
Are you creating synergy between your traits and skills?
Are you using defensive skills when needed?
Are you dodging telegraphed attacks? (visual cues)
Have you tried using gear with Vitality or Toughness on it?

No trinity in this game, so the #1 goal is survival. After you can survive, then build for damage.

Its a good thing dailies aren’t required. You get a selection of which ones you want to do, and most of them can be done while regularly playing the game.

Take your whining back to the WoW Forums.

Progression in Fractals requires Ascended gear. Dailies award unique Ascended gear. Ergo progression in Fractals requires dailies.

@Refeuh That would be true if it stopped there, but the extra 15 AR gained from an Amulet and Accessories allows a higher level to be reached, and thus an increased chance of obtaining Fractal Weapon skins. The best part about dailies is you don’t have to do them. Or you can. It’s up to you, just like anything else in this game. You don’t have a full set of ascended stuff? No problem. There is nothing that can’t be done without them.

Fractals requires Ascended gear for further progression. If it wasn’t for that, you would be right.

I have played MMO’s as much as the next guy, and my experience is, once people are reduced to logging on to just do dailies, they already have “one foot out the door” and when the NEXT game comes along they will be done with GW2

People wouldn’t be reduced to daily tasks if progressive, meaningful content was released each month instead. New fractals, new dungeons, new sPvP maps (they got this one right), and WvW upgrades.

Wasting resources on revamping old content (AC), temporary holiday events (Halloween, Wintersday), and one-time events (Karka) isn’t helping GW2’s longevity much. The Living Story has been a bust so far, consisting simply of kill X things and collect X things.

Daily achievements for Laurels.
Daily fractals for Pristine Relics.
Daily event chests for Loot / Precursors.
Weekly guild missions for Commendations.
Monthly achievements for Laurels.
Overall DR on Loot.

Everything is tied to the checklist now. Once completed, it is hard to find a reason to stay logged in.

To specify why I view this as a bad thing:

I want to be able to play the game for large amounts of time in one sitting and still benefit. Still progress my character in a meaningful way. I don’t want daily/weekly/monthly gates in front of everything. I want to be able to wake up Saturday morning and say “okay, today I am going to play Fractals all day with my buds and get my Ascended accessories”.

As it is now, after my Fractal dailies are finished my productivity hits zero. Hell we can’t even obtain Ascended amulets and accessories in Fractals, yet it is the only place in the game where they are required for progression. The reward system is flawed.

Amulets + accessories: Add to fractal vendor

in Suggestions

Posted by: Toxyn.9608

Toxyn.9608

Before amulets and accessories were made available, the max AR one could obtain was 30. This let a player comfortably obtain 3 Pristine Relics per day.

An amulet is supposed to take about a month to obtain, so add them to the Pristine Relic vendor at a cost of 60~ Relics. Seems fair to me.

As for the accessories, I would add a chance to obtain them from the 40-49 daily chest. Remove the Infused ring chance from this tier. Also add them to the Pristine Relic vendor at a cost of 40~ Relics + 50 Ectos each.

That’s just off the top of my head. I’m sure it could be tweaked.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

The fact that Ascended accessories and amulets cannot be obtained through Fractals (the one place that the gear is required for progression) is a complete and utter joke. To make matters worse, the new rings can’t be infused.

It is also silly that no new fractals have been added, yet the system is perfect for adding new content. New fractals don’t need to abide by any lore (the Mists did it!) and they can be really short.

Any changes to end-game content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m thinking that we consider the same things “endgame”, OP. If true, then:

Fractals were added in November. It is a good dungeon, though extremely repetitive. Though it has many levels of difficulty, it offers little additional challenge past Level 10.

Two new sPvP maps have been added since release. Both are fun. The newest one is based on CTF, which is always great.

And that’s it.

Dungeons were revamped and / or nerfed, with no additional rewards added.
No new Fractals have been added since their initial launch.

And that’s everything you came up with?! The only thing that matters to you is Dungeons Instances count and PvP map count?! This are the only things noticeable by you?!

Everything else in the game is accomplished through zergs. Literally everything else. So yes, dungeons, fractals, and sPvP are what I consider endgame.

If you’re dieing every 5 minutes, it is either:

A) A skill problem. Keep at it until you learn. If you can’t learn; do not do the dungeon.

or

B) A gear problem. You can have two stats on your gear at L35. If you’re learning dungeons for the first time I would use an offensive stat and a defensive stat. Power + Vitality is a good choice because it doesn’t give you the extra aggro that Toughness does.

Edit: This still applies at L80, by the way. Except that you should have higher stats due to Exotic gear, and three stats to choose from on gear. Go PTV until you learn the dungeon well enough to not die as often (or stick with PTV if you prefer a defensive playstyle).

No? Guesting was made for friends to play together. Some people rolled on different servers for different reasons. Being locked out of a server for 30 days goes against that.

Another alternative might be that to “guest” on a server, you need to be invited by someone who is on that server. After all, there is a different between inviting a guest into your home and a random hobo from off the street who just steps through your door and starts raiding your fridge.

That would not be as effective as a flat limitation, but it would help.
