During the last Tequatl event, after defending the east battery I got on the jumping pad to head back for the next burn and as I took off, a Plague Champ exploded it’s poison somewhere nearby and as I rose up into the air, it removed the last of my health and I fell dead from high in the sky.
Now I’m not a big fan of the range of that damage, but I gotta admit it was a cool way to die.
Any other good death stories?
Yes, please! More challenging solo content.
Of course that would be more difficult than the group challenging content
and would actually warrant a legendary armor reward.
Umm, doesn’t this kinda scream “hey hackers, my account is a real good target”?
Just saying I hope you change your passwords often.

As a proud crafter of the Predator, this is the topic that will decide whether I purchase Hot or not.
I’m the best player in GW2 because I know when to dodge and jump and swing my melee weapon and the rest of you are here to watch me collect all the hoards because I’m the only one who deserves them!
I’m fairly new and do most things right but I selected a ranged character and regardless of that I paid the same for the game as you so I’m entitled to everything too.
Please fix the crit boxes on the bosses so we can get past this crap!
To the OP, thank you for trying. These forums are rife with players who do the most difficult parts of the game because they enjoy it. That includes looking for any single advantage over the other players they can get. The forums is a perfect place to accuse harass and cajole others into giving up so they have a better chance of winning.
That’s the plain and simple fact. What you say can be right or partly right but you will face stern accusations here regardless.
For far too many here, it’s all about their single enjoyment of the game at all costs and that requires other players loosing.
Some of us play for the rewards. Some play to feel better about themselves by putting down others and some are mature enough to accomplish both without insulting others. That isn’t going to change and it’s why the silent majority stays silent on these forums. We all play and advance at our own pace. Don’t let anyone here affect you to the point that it affects your game play.
The complaint here is that anyone not standing in Teq’s crit hitbox area is not contributing significantly enough to warrant being there in the first place.
I’m stating that ranged classes have a right to be there and contribute too.
You actually think that everyone not standing next to you is just pushing 1?
Sure, there are people doing that OF ALL CLASSES. Same with the afk.
There are actual things going on besides just the crit hitbox area. People kill lots of fingers, others rez lots of the DOWNED, others deal with the undead that get past the defense. Lot’s of people traited to their tasks and doing them.
My Warrior and Guardian stand in that box fine. If my Ele and Mesmer cant, and if it’s required, then the Changes will revert back sooner than later.
If you want a challenge, stand in that box as an Ele or Mesmer or Necro and show us you can.

So your saying we should simply eliminate all the classes and builds that don’t have melee ability. Seriously?
Or are you saying there should be world bosses that can only be defeated by range?Which professions don’t have melee abilities? Or are you saying that no one should need to have to switch out skills or weapons before the encounter starts?
What does melee abilities have to do with it?
Which light armor do we change out to so we can survive in the melee crit box, because the light armor classes are designed so we cant stay there.
yes, for a few seconds.

So we earn the points in the core game but cant spend them unless we buy our way in?
Might want to consider what will happen to the stuff you earn in Hot that will only be spendable in the next expansion, which you may not want to pay for.
As for accuracy, there’s only speculation here. Nothing is fixed or permanent. Most who’ve played this game for awhile recognize that.
The information in this thread can’t be accurate.
Hero points were earned in the main core game and should remain spendable in the main core game.
There is no requirement that we get Hot.
Answers to this threads question should at least state what we can spend them on in the main core game.
No waypoint for the Traders Forum means why bother going there.
Having no interest in Hot, if I purchase the main core game from one of your 3rd party providers, will I be able to install and play the main core game?
Your looting enough to salvage 300 silk scraps a day?
I consider the gem shop our only true interaction with the devs.
The forums? No way.
Spending says good job. Not spending says the opposite.
I believe I have spent about $80 since game start.
2 daily fractals keeps my money in my pocket for now.
Dang, sounds like RNG then.
Sadly, we could salvage blues and greens all day, every day, and it still wouldn’t be a viable solution to getting the mats needed for ascended gear. It just has little actual value, even in the luck generated.
Seriously? How many die trying to rez? I’ve seen a wave kill 3 trying to rez.
How many take 20 seconds…
What concerns me is the indifference shown towards downed players.
When they die at the end of a long heal attempt, how many come back?
These activities are all miscategorised.
They are all pvp, NOT pve.
Anyone else experiencing a significant increase in looted armor and fewer weapons over the last month or so in PvE? Does this have to do with getting more drops that reward us with stuff we can use? Because, what I’m getting is blue and green level 80 armor.
What value does level 80 green armor have for level 80’s besides salvaging for scraps?
What value does level 80 blue armor have to anyone besides a few coppers?
With just the log in rewards from a few months of leveling to 80 we get enough to wear and use exotic armor, accessories and weapons, minimum.
Weapons are sellable, armor often isn’t. Weapons can be Mystic Forged for presursors, armor – nope.
How do I put more weapons into the forge for a precursor when they’ve been changed to junk armor?
I’m even seeing many instances of successfully completing Tequatyl with all gold event rewards and not getting a single rare weapon. Plenty of worthless armor though!
I hope it’s just RNG, but it’s funny, I run several characters and they all have the luck of the dead now.
So, are you asking the players selling pre’s on the market now?
Kinda looks like you are from the responses.
I know why’s that. Players play to be successful. Everyone can be successful in PvE and to a lesser degree in WvW.
That can’t be said of PvP. It’s intentionally designed for nearly all players to be losers.
PvP will expand when you get that fixed (if you really want to fix it) (if there is a way to fix it).
Top 5 answers
1. Because they think the players here will somehow shame you into
doing content you don’t enjoy.
2. Because they think forcing you into fractals will make you want to play WvW and
PvP. (yeah, unbelievable)
3. Because they don’t know how many of us are not doing our dailies every time this
happens.
4. Because they don’t want our money spent in the gem shop.
5. Because they believe you can be forced, and you can. (but where?)
If nothing else, it’s so much easier than making fractals more enjoyable content and it gives us a chance every 10 days or so to check out other games.
(yeah, unbelievable)
It’s the ONLY daily PvE content REQUIRING a group. That is the issue they don’t want to deal with, and why the WvW and PvP players post here. Your fodder and they want more fodder in their favorite game area.
There should be 4 daily’s in each category; easy, medium, hard, and enhanced reward harder. Reward the people more for doing what you want instead of penalizing some for not doing it. That is incentive.
Seriously? You need to let us opt out of the really, really stupid stuff.
Nothing more needs saying than how disappointed we are. While we’re at it, I find the talking robot backpack incredibly stupid and annoying and I think I should have a special option to mute it and only it whenever I want.
While we’re at it, Wow!, You actually responded to a let us opt out comment?
SO GLAD I’m not that bored! Disappointment now has pity added to it.Er… Was that supposed to be a dig? I was in Weather and the Atmosphere at my university. Required elective. You have no idea how bored I was.
My point in the previous post was made via sarcasm, but I think the point itself is solid: just because someone thinks some type of content is “stupid” doesn’t mean the whole game should change because of it.
But to be clear, I really do find those talking robot backpacks annoying.
My apologies. I totally misinterpreted your response.
I agree the whole game doesn’t have to, and shouldn’t change.
The ability to opt out would just be a very nice addition
and possibly easier/cheaper than dealing with hundreds? of posts…

It’s time for this. The potion is being used to block vision in large events and small.
I know kids will be kids, but how about letting us adults be adults without
other players affecting our play, at least in PvE. Or, let it end with combat.
Don’t get rid of it, let us.
Some Trainers wont show their guides, regardless of experience achieved.
Some Trainers only show the guides we have already achieved.
When I see double fractal dailies, I stop spending money on the game.
That will always be my response.
Yes, good info. And I consider those odds to be vastly superior to actually looting a precursor.
Yes, the krait weapons are rares. When you break it down to the rolls needed, it does make it unlikely that the MF was adjusted. I’ve been getting about 20% exotics on rares used, but also about 40% krait weapons. Hence my comment.
And you don’t think that receiving so many of them is a result of a spin of the dial on the mystic forge towards krait weapons and away from precursors?
Sample size is not the point when you are looking at the vast majority of received items as being of one type.
That places a clear limit on what we are trying for.
If you think there’s not enough results, try it, and enjoy your krait weapons.
I am just saying that the krait weapon collection brought a greatly reduced chance of receiving a precursor.
A minimum of 5 tries a day over 2 months has generated an inordinate amount of krait weapons.
So yeah, 300 tries at least, generated this comment.
Didn’t say anything about receiving rares.
(edited by Tumult.2578)
Well, if there is, it isn’t now.
If your are thinking of throwing rares into the Mystic Forge in hopes of getting a precursor, now is a bad time. It’s set to spit out those krait weapons needed for that krait collection. Got 4 Krait weapons our of 5 tries. Save your resources till this is fixed.
Might be time to dial this down a little……
I believe the difficulty to obtain a precursor should not change. The RNG aspect should be reduced though.
Don’t kid yourself. This will be another attempt at forcing players to PvP.
Legendarys will simply be unobtainable to a different group of players.
Same here. No lag, just a disconnect from the server. Sometimes to desktop, sometimes to the character screen. Usually just before Teq or the big silverwastes event.
Happening more and more.
Just tried the YOLOmouse. It does work ingame.
eh, the non-event nodes are all a bit pointless, to be honest. there’s nothing on them you can’t get from salvaging a few drops.
Where are you looting your blade shards?
The BL trading tax is absurd. Still, it’s a whole lot better than getting ripped off.
You’re not alone in this. There are plenty of totally ignored thread plea’s for help with this issue.
Please put a stop to this.
If you want to lose your money, this is a fast way to do it.
I would NEVER buy from a lfg tool ad.
My goal is to find some legitimate justification for one part, just one part, of any balance change that has occurred since the start.
Same I Minnesota.
Yeah, this 2 fractals is a fail. No daily again today.
You must realize this is not going to force us to play content we don’t enjoy.
It will simply make us madder until we stop playing and spending money.
Gotta say thanks for the Christmas gift of tons of harvesting tools. I’m starting to wonder if I’ll use many though.
PvE – “Do it yourself, Quick”. Kill one Champ, 5 Veterans or 25 regular
monsters/enemies in 5 minutes.
PvE – “Just another Skritt”. Collect 5 different salvaged items that were initially
purchased from npc’s.
PvE – “Step it up” Kill an enemy 4 levels over your level or 4 enemies within 4
seconds.
PvE – “Make up your mind” Complete 5 events in a specified zone, or 5 world
bosses, in 80 minutes.
Note the “choice” in each.
When a.net tries to make their PvP more desirable, they seem incapable of improving it without affecting PvE. PvE players complain about the affect.
Each attempt makes the PvP players smell potential new blood and they fill the forums with counter comments about PvE which they likely never play. Sadly, the net result is no new PvP players and angry PvE players even less likely to play PvP.
I don’t see what will make this pattern to stop.
