Yep. Guess yall are right. No matter what you call it though. It’s a game. and most people dont enjoy this ‘strategy’. So most will quit playing. WVW will lose numbers. I understand it cant be fixed. WVW would need an extreme overhaul.
2v1 itself is not usually the strategy. Normally it is a result of 2 servers benefiting from attack the 3rd more so than each other. There is no way to overhaul wvw to change that.
2v1 happends a lot. Sucks when it happends to Ur server but its part of the game. Take yaks,ebay,sbi matchup. Yaks wanted to win so they focus the strongest server sbi. Ebay stated they had a vendetta against sbi so they focus them. After the weekend ebay sees they have a good chance for second so they push sbi harder. Yaks would greatly benefit from sbi finishing in 3rd so they push sbi harder. It has nothing to do with friendly servers it has to do with strategy.
A big reason for this is survivability. It’s an important thing to have in wvw. And still laugh when wvw people say warriors r op. Use to be they were the second worse class in most people’s minds
I don’t think we need to discuss imbalance anymore at this point. Myself and a large amount of forum post agree that a lot of good ideas were givin on ways to solve it. I thinkmore the reason it keeps coming up is people were unsatisfied with the lack of dev interaction.
The q is not broken. Anet has said that it is not a linear q. It works as designed
I believe the down state exists because of the lack of a true healing class

As much dev feed back as possible will make this better. If we give an idea and its can’t be done then we need to know that so we don’t continue down the road of thinking. If an idea is viable we also need to know so we can go down the road and expand on it. The process is ment to use many minds to find a solution. The more do focused we r on the viable options the better suggestions we can give
TC would almost defiantly win the gold but they wouldn’t run away with either
Only thing holding back BG is q time. They can’t get all thier best players in together which is kinda scary based on how well they still do

How bout people run team builds with Aoe cleansing to counter the people run team builds with chain immobilize.
I hinghed sight the 2 dumbest things for wvw where having it server based and splitting servers in na and e. PProbably seemed like a good idea at the time but doesn’t work. The truth is that the only way to really fix wvw is the scrap pretty much everything. No more na and eu and no more being server based. There should be fractions that get people from BOTH na and eu this will help with coverage as na and eu primetimes r different. There also needs to be a reward system in place to prevent people from all flocking to one faction. Rewards based on points scored in relation to the active population. On another note let’s get a urban wvw map. Just take divinity reach add a fort in the middle with some cap points.

I once saw 5 people take out 40+ golems. Of course those golems forgot to take out the oil over the gate but who cares about details
But the spvp attributes system is horrible. Y would u want to be subjected to it that much?
Planetside 2 doesn’t have near the lag issues of this game
Warriors have never been underpowered in wvw and they haven’t even been buffed that much

I agree wiping the enemy is the best way to deflate moral but can also be the hardest way at times. But this is more of a tactical debate than a what’s right or wrong. I’m guessing you re someone who ggoes right after the enemy. I’m more of a small ball person , preferring to take camps and towers while nibbling away at keep supplies.

Not all warriors are button mashers. Use to take some skill to run warrior and some of those people are still around
If a warrior is speced right there is no need to fear conditions.
Avoiding enemy zergs will only make you a terrible commander, ‘oh look the enemy zerg lets run away like cowards and go pvDoor all night’ that’s such a horrible thing to do.
My advice is learn how to fight, learn each and every class ability so you know what to call for, assign guardian tome of courage groups for the most effective healing along side ele waterfields. Also when commanding never shout and be aggressive with your followers, be firm in your commands but respecting, pugs hate when commanders are shouting and balling their head off etc.
For the above If you have no relevant experience go shadow a top guild group who specializes in fighting ask to join comms and just explain ’ I am looking to become a commander and want to learn as much as I can’. Turning pugs into a deadly fighting force is what will make you a good commander not Pv’Dooring and avoiding the enemy zerg (you can’t avoid the enemy zerg forever).
If its tier 1 or 2 maybe 3 I would agree with you. From the way the op talks I would infer he/she is in a lower tier. From my experience the best way to loose Ur zerg is to wipe a couple times. The more casual the player the faster they will abandon. If the map isn’t qued the best way to break down the enemy is to keep them moving. If you just smack into them at ever chance you get they don’t have to move to find you. If you keep them moving they will break down then you can turn on them and destroy them piece by piece
And running a tank build helps. If you are dieing a lot as commander the zerg will fall apart
The best advise I can give u especially for commanding pugs is to keep moving. Try to always be going to a place to cap, and avoid enemy zergs unless you are bigger than them. Try to keep your commands simple and direct, pugs are often turned off by complicated commands.
From my experience the hardcore pve players are just as much or more so elitist who won’t listen to anyone

uh….so…I mean really? alt-F4 is a problem? how many people actually do this? I mean come on you have to restart game re-load wait, then enter wvw and wait, then get back to the ruins….are there a lot of people that do this? seems like a complete waste of time, and those people that do it aren’t real WvW players.
I guess I just don’t get it. but i’m sure the dev’s can fix it just like they fixed the other problem. they, like me probably never imagined so many people would go through all that trouble to avoid a stomp lol it’s silly.

This had been suggested before for a similar reason and they didn’t do it so not expectingit nnow. As for the spiking. Not sure about lower tierz but in the upper tiers spiking is a good chunks of a teams totally point so yes it does make a difference in the matchup

what are you talking about? maybe warriors were thought to be weak in spvp, dunno. but they were always considered very good in zerg-wvw

Wvw will never get fixed for hardcore players as long as anet refuses to c it as a competitive gameplay mode
The majority dislike the stat buff but like the stomping bonus.
The mist is the area where the dead and the gods reside. Originally the gods didn’t want the living there but then decided it was interesting to host tournaments for their own enjoyment. So that y pvp takes place there. Basically the clif notes version

True but I stil find spike healing a much better option especially when u run a healing build. Hard to beat a 12k heal
With the highest hit points and armour, spike damage is not the same worry to warriors it is to everyone else.
Ok reading back over post I’m just gonna make a couple comments.
Ele is backline support because that how people use them. Boon giving ele is another good build and can run right in with the main force. Thief doesn’t have to be super glass. Run a condition build and go short bow and you can be effective in zerg or mid

From what anet has said in the past about other things in wvw they should ot interfer with gvg. Anet has stated many times about people in wvw doing certain things that people are allowed to play the game the way they want. The other part of that is that the action can’t effect the game play of other. Well anet has never held up to the other end of tha. Almost everyone is guilty of effecting another play in wvw on many occasion.
