This has got to be the worst thing I’ve seen on these forums. Enjoy your ban.
While the Citizen of Tyria for a Better Tomorrow Tomorrow fully support Evon we must congratulate Kiel on a well earned victory.
A round up on Abaddon is what 48% of the TALLIED VOTES showed.
Fixed that for you.
Nice tinfoil hat you have there!
I imagine that you can still convert the tickets into buttons….they just wont count for votes.
The people have spoken.
It’s not that I don’t like Char, it’s just that all the fleas they spread are a pain to kill!
Right choice? Your opinion. I do not do fractals. I do use waypoints. Go Kiel!!!
But what will you do when you’ve done everything but Fractals?
Move on…..
While all my votes except a few(for achievements) have gone to Evon, this discussion is practically over.
With 400k vote lead, it is now impossible for Evon to win, this is a terrible decision by the community but there is no point crying over this any more.
In future, I suggest that we do not get a vote system since this event was an epic failure of mass proportions, to say the very least.
Also its quite transparent that this community certainly cannot make smart decisions. The majority voted for a redundant reactor explosion which is only available in 20+ places in the game, whereas an epic fight with the god was sent straight to the trash can.
The players who voted for the explosion should get just that since you do not deserve any better.
So the majority votes different from you and its a “terrible decision by the community”? And you don’t want a vote system in the future because you know best for everyone and everyone else can’t make smart decisions.
Most Kiel supporters are uneducated, and are voting only for the pretty face. But worry not, this is far from over. Evon didn’t get to where he is by quitting. I’m sure he’ll be doing something interesting to spice up this race.
What an ironic post! Thanks for the laugh!
Start the screaming…….go Kiel!!!!!!
Very disheartening to see Kiel in the lead. People want to vote for “the nice, pretty human lady” and are voting for the wrong reasons. Cheaper waypoints for a few weeks are just as useless as cheaper keys nobody will buy for 4 weeks.
You need to start looking at it from the fractal standpoint. Want to vote for Kiel to see the Thumanova Reactor fractal? Why? I’ll save you the trouble: The Asura thought they were super smart, they tried to do something, and something blew up. Ok cool we got that out of the way?
Great, now please go vote for Evon so that we actually have a good permanent bonus from the victor. I don’t expect people who didn’t play GW1 to understand the important or sheer awesome that is the Fall of Abaddon. This is GODS FIGHTING EACH OTHER and not "We’re asura, we screwed up again asura shrugs as the curb your enthusiasm theme song starts playing
I just encourage people voting for Kiel to really take a look at the pros and cons of both and make the right choice. Stop RPing and saying that Evon is greedy and Ellen is noble or whatever. Ellen is stupid and has done nothing good since she was introduced in the game. She screws up more than Asuras do.
Really not sure why people WANT to vote for Kiel. Everyone I’ve seen voting for her has only done so because they see so many people saying how awesome Evon is.
So in short, enjoy your 10-20s you will save on WP travel over the course of the next 4 weeks after Tuesday. Hope it was worth it to get probably the lamest fractal idea ever conceived. You could have changed this.
And when you realize just how boring the fractal is and then look into what you missed out on, I will be standing here shaking my head at you for making the choices you made.
Right choice? Your opinion. I do not do fractals. I do use waypoints. Go Kiel!!!
The price of pumping out content so quickly….
In the trials Evon wants to keep the Aetherblade loot for himself, Ellen wants to see it returned to the people it was stolen from.
Simple fact is, Ellen is the good-guy, honest politician and Evon is the greedy corporate bussinessman.
People like to see the good guy win. Or just see the greedy corporate bussinessman fail to buy himself power. So just having a lot of money and the single most powerful company at your whim doesn’t automatically buy you political power, its a fiction afterall.
I wont lie this has tainted my vision in favor of Ellen. I dont give a single kitten about the Fractal, or the discount either offer. But after the constant mess of kittens enriching themselves over the backs of others, just for their own greed in real life, i’m not feeling all to eager to help Evon do the same thing. Fictional or not.
I totally agree with you here!
Here’s the way I see it. As people are so fond of pointing out, the forum folks are the minority of players. This game is focused on casuals. A lot of casual people will not read forums, or do any research, and they will only go by what they see in the game. Most casuals do not buy keys, but all use waypoints. See where I’m going here?
Well, it’s not a voting interface. It’s just a dialogue.
Seems that they forgot the usual “I’ll give you 5/10/25/…/250/All of them” they used in most other dialogs in which you can turn more than a single item.
It’s something I really hate of the current ANet. A team comes up with a great idea, but other teams may not use it, and instead do something completely different.
That leads to inconsistence on how all sorts of things are done.
You get used to grab some environmental weapon and use it this way in an event, and then in another that it’s mostly the same, a similar weapon works in a wonky way that only makes you wonder: “Why wouldn’t they just do it like they did back there?”
The should have some sort of record of standardized procedures or something.
Probably one of the drawbacks of pumping out content at such a high rate.
I have 800 ballot tickets yet to cast. Lets see….hot woman, or flea bitten RNG supporter? Hmmmmmmm…..
I hear Evon went to the vet, and has the mange……and fleas.
Another +1 for Aspect Arena!
It’s interesting that people think the rewards are what the game should be played for.
It’s kinda sad that people don’t really play to have fun, just to get stuff.
I wonder how many of those posting in this topic would play Guild Wars 2 at all if it had no items or gold. Just the experience of playing the game, without any kind of reward.
But you’re trying to dictate what everyone considers “fun”. People value things differently. In this discussion, there is no right or wrong, only perception and opinion.
You’re not supposed to get drops that you want from mobs, you’re supposed to get stuff you can sell on the TP to make the money you need to buy the stuff you want, just like D3. Still confused how people don’t get it.
Not saying you’re wrong…..just curious where you came up with that? Is it opinion, or a statement about the game design from Anet?
It was cantha district and ncsoft wanted it out.
They created a story for it.
Thaz that. It’s nothing more.
Can you reference ANY data that is credible for your “ncsoft wanted it out”, comment?
Projecting your personal beliefs into this discussion as facts makes you appear to be quite a number of things, but never close to credible. You can point out what you think are “mistakes” all you want, but stating your “guesses” as to why as known “facts” just makes you appear to be just another conspiracy theory nut or self-proclaimed prophet of doom.
For your reading pleasure…

It’s amazing what kittens people can be…..on both sides.
People always say that Guild Wars 2 sucks and is terrible and stuff.
Please name an MMORPG better than GW2.
Guild Wars 1 does not count as it is not really an MMO and if you say WoW is better, then you are a troll.
What you’re saying is very subjective. Just because you think GW2 is the end all be all of MMOs doesn’t mean everyone else thinks like you, or agrees with you. Some people may truly like WoW better, and that doesn’t make them a troll. If you’re stating an opinion, fine. If your stating fact, then your entire OP is moot.

There is a group of thieves, I call them a wolf pack, running WvW in our current matchup. Four of them to be exact. Now I will give them credit as they did put me down a few times but with the proper counter party we have utterly destroyed them. As a Guardian one thief will very seldom put me down and on occasion I have had all 4 focus on me to get me out of the way because spamming #1 with the staff tends to hurt them. With the wifes necro dropping wells and marks it only takes one or two more and those four thieves are looking for greener pastures or pushing up daisies as a part of the pasture.
When you understand how the stealth mechanic works and use that knowledge to coordinate against thieves they are not that scary at all. Frustrating at times but never scary.….. if you are smart about it……
…..and there’s the actual problem.
Everyone knows what a male moose looks like. They’re the ones with the facial hair.
So ignore the festivals. Orr is still full of zombies, kill one and it comes back in about 30 seconds. Just remember to move around once in a while so you don’t get hit by DR.
Leave the festivals to those who remember that they’re playing a game and it’s ok to have fun once in a while.
If you wanna have “fun” go out and live you life, having casual intercourse (WOOT), parties, drinking, smoke a cigar and maybe if you have a wife like me, Go to see a movie and a romantic dinner D.
But if your like me that play video games to get out of reality let me face monster in continual moments. I have never see a MMORPG whit so many childish event, party, bashing, watching, dancing, eating and i don’t know what more future events have Anet to pretend were here to have the same fun as we can have in real life.
Video games is a escape from reality, no a second change to have what you can REAL have in real life.
No more Festivals Events
Obviously, this game is not for you. There are many, many other MMO’s (reads ‘all of them’) that play exactly as you seem to want this one to be. Personally, I’m loving the change of flavor and plethora of options!
Because as far as the graphics engine goes…..beard and stubble are the same thing. Not sure they’d put in an entire new mechanism just so we can see stubble.
current meta build ^
And no, there is no need for a ranged weapon in any named dungeon. There are few fractal fights where you might want a ranged weapon but for the regular dungeons you can melee everything.
Thank you so much Nike!
Hi. I have not played my warrior since last year. With all of the changes, what’s a good dungeon build? I always carry a greatsword, but is there ever a ranged need (rifle) in a dungeon, or is axe/mace always better for the second set?
Any tips are much appreciated!
In my opinion, targeting in this game is worse than any MMO I’ve ever played, and that’s all the way back to the origional Everquest. Targeting inanimate objects before mobs. When you want the mob that’s at your 12 o’clock, you get the one at your 9 o’clock. So forth and so on. It can be very frustrating sometimes. Maybe other people think different, but that’s my opinion.
I don’t think they have done enough research. The FnF skins offered were limited, not that great, and were probably not a good test of players willingness to buy skins direct rather than RNG.
I don’t think they know how much possible sales income is lost because of people who would buy more desired skins directly, but opt out of RNG gambling.
Also, while gold to gem conversion is attractive, I think we are seeing a problem with it. Mudflation is a fact of MMOs, the bulk of the population is at endgame and gaining gold at a rate outpacing traditional sinks. Anet has to burn that gold off to facilitate RMT gem purchases. So.. RNG leads to more gem conversions by forcing more purchasing of “cheap” items, Keys.. and depletes the gold reserves in game… but how much does it harm actual RMT Gem purchases? Big question.
I will buy items I like. That Item. I will buy stones directly, Makeovers directly, I will not buy a chest for a “chance” at them, and I certainly will not buy a chest for a remote chance of 1/10th of an item I want.
Personally, I will buy a gem card to obtain an item I want, rather than play the conversion mkt and burn through gold. In my case, the rng decision costs them. With 9 chars my ingame gold goes to purchases like Cultural armors, not gem conversions.
I will go to a store and buy a 60dollar Blouse. I would never go to a store and buy 10 dollar mystery boxes guaranteed to have a random cotton t shirt and a remote chance at that blouse.
Why people will do things with pixels they would never do IRL baffles me.
I don’t think Anet is losing money. I think Anet is making money doing it this way. It sucks, but it’s probably true.
Basically there are enough people out there who will spend ten times what something is worth to get it randomly. So for Anet to break even they’d have to sell like ten times the number if they had it in the cash shop.
Vayne, I’m not sure what you mean by “break even”. Do you mean they’d have to sell 10 times as much to equal profits from RNG? If so, I agree.
Have you ever seen someone at one of those stuffed animal crane arcade machines? They will spend $20 to try and get a stuffed animal worth $1.
From: Cody Crichton in the bugs forum.
Hello everyone.
Thank you for voicing your concerns with the flute.
Again, we apologize for your struggles with this instrument after the latest build. I would like to reconfirm that it was never our intention to negatively impact songs you’ve been previously able to play or with new performances. The scenarios described above regarding extreme difficulty playing the same note back-to-back were not reproducible in-house or reported by play testers, even those with musical talent playing popular songs discussed in many other threads.
That said, there will be a fix for the problem, one that reverts functionality to the way it was before. Additionally, by popular request, the ability to stop the currently playing note will be moved to the ‘0’ key. This fix is currently targeted for release with the next Living World update. Thank you for your patience as we address your concerns.
I’d like to add that we are committed to providing a fun experience with each of the instruments and are always open to healthy, constructive feedback.
I understand that’s your personal opinion but before you bash ANet, it may be good to consider that maybe some people prefer this option, thanks.
And based on the countless other threads I’ve seen over the last year most people prefer not to have to spend potentially hundreds of dollars for one skin. This isn’t about opinions, it is about thinly veiled gambling systems being marketed to (in some cases) impressionable children.
Yeah; I said it.
Not only is this RNG crap a rip off, it is marketing a gambling system to children. It may as well be a virtual slot machine.
Using exaggerated examples to bolster your point just makes your argument look a lot weaker, for your future reference.
Not the first time either….
….is kinda like using a sledgehammer to open an egg.
Anet training manual 101.
ArenaNet why are you punishing the players for buying these keys when u almost get nothing from them?
Because gambling is addictive and it = more money for them.
The hunting lodge is a known RPer area. Its probably just left by a bunch of players that was dressed out as centuars.
LMAO
Just a question on how Thiefs are in PvE and dungeons. I’m not into WvW or PVP. I’d like to try one, but I’ve heard scuttlebutt that they are weak in PvE, and not wanted in dungeons.
Any perspectives? Thank you.
Not sure how it would damage the economy when I already don’t pay for WPs to get to LA or any other major city. o.O
Besides, you severely over estimate the importance of city WPs as a gold sink source to the economy.
The convenience factor for the player not having to do multiple loads is a plus. The benefit of less server load should be reason enough.
Again, you get the convenience factor by teleporting directly to LA, instead of abusing a feature that has an entirely different purpose.
Gotcha. Your argument is that we are exploiters for using the mists to travel to LA.
My argument is that you are demanding free stuff because you are already going around the game mechanics…
Yes, you are exploiters.
Funny how the devs know full and well about this “exploit”, and yet no one gets banned. Oh, I know……..working as intended.
The shot looks like it’s right outside the Hunting Lodge, so… boar tracks?
Nope, boars have a cloven hoof, like a deer.
all they need to do is add the +speed to a signet or mantra, no biggy hell make it out of combat only i don’t care.

Message Body length must at least be 15.
Good point Blackwolf. They must have snuck in the lodge at night looking for beer!
I was about to buy a flute….not now. I’m glad I saw this thread!
(edited by Villious.8530)
Anyone know what these tracks are in the picture? They look an awful lot like horseshoes, but we all know Tyria has no horses.
That’s not an issue with the game though or even with A-net on abilities. That is entirely an issue on that persons end and no amount of complaints about jumping puzzles will fix that, it’s either a get better internet issue or wtf are you doing playing this game with lag that bad issue. A disability is one thing to have a word on when it comes to accessability but user lag holds no ground when it comes to whether or not something should be handled differently with events.
I’ll admit. I am currently in this small little country that I’m pretty sure only got internet a few years ago. It’s called Germany, I dunno, some of you people may have heard of it.
As I’ve said many times in other posts, the SAB jump pads, and these new mechanics are the ONLY issue with lag I have.
The thing is, that what if a person with disabilities had even half this much lag? What if the person with a disability had no lag, but weren’t able to perform the fine motor skills needed to do complex jumps?
I feel that something should be handled differently in this case. There is no reason I can see not to make the voting accessible to all players by putting it on the lower waypoint.
Truly, you’re waisting your breath. Contrary to the movie, you can’t give a tin man a heart.
Anet has to secretly be the military. Because in the military, we take all the options, have countless meetings about them, lay them out……….and pick the worst possible one.
I don’t think that getting to the top can be even considered as jumping puzzle. You have only 3 jumps (which are painfuly easy) to do, the rest is just automatic transporation with lightning element.
The jumps are not painfully easy. I have tried every day for two weeks to get by them and I still haven’t been able to pass them. The last living story and now this one, are nothing but an exercise in frustration and embarrassment.
But they are if you spend the 5 extra seconds to get the lightning pull ability that makes them not even worth mentioning as jumps. Again maybe it’s not just my opinion but not all games(especially mmos) are meant for everyone. If a disability is really affecting even base game mechanics that much for you then it really is time to move on. If you’re trying to prove a point by playing with a disability then good for you but when even the simplist of mechanics is so challenging that it’s near impossible then it is time to move on.
Yes, you’ve mentioned at least three times that maybe it’s time for then OP to move on. Maybe you should take your own advice concerning this thread.
Nalora, I think a lot of people are patient and more than willing to help. Unfortunately, you’re not going to find many on these forums. Just keep doing the best you can. If I can ever be of service, please feel free to ask.
Ironically, out of all the people that have posted in this thread, you’re not the one I feel sorry for….
It is not. If the current log in screen was the beta screen and vice versa, you’d be asking why the beautiful landscape background was removed and how much better the old one was.
It happens all the time in video games. It’s not really the login screen that you like, it’s the ego involved that matters, and that people want what they don’t have.
Why was this feature removed? It’s so much better than what we have now!
Why was this idea scrapped? It’s so much better than the current one!
This fan made content is awesome! The game is balanced now, the devs could take a few lessons from this guy!
Thanks for the info!
Oh, where did you go to college for your psych degree?
Let me paraphrase……“The free stuff you gave me is NOT what I wanted, therefore I’m very angry and I’m going to pitch a fit!”
I’m FAR from being an Anet Fanboi, but it’s just amazing at all of the people complaining/whining/QQing (in various threads) about the rewards from the AP chest; something we didn’t even have in game a few weeks ago. Talk about an entitled attitude….
If you don’t like it, can’t use it or don’t have room for it…….delete it. Confucius say, it’s better for someone to think you a spoiled, immature, ungrateful or self centered person, than for you to open your mouth and prove it. A lot of folks have been doing that lately.
