I think the daileys are easier now. Go find a lvl 1 plains worm, aggro it, and just sit there and dodge while it attacks you. Very easy. If you are already gathering as you go, you have plenty of stuff to do the crafting daily as stated above.
Would you go into a mall and start yelling obscenities? What ever happened to respecting other people, kindness and consideration?
I’m retired military, and I can and do curse with the best of them. But I understand there is a time and place for everything. Just because I’m sitting behind a keyboard, I act no differently than I do when I’m out face to face among crowds. It’s a game, but you’re still playing with thousands of other people. Those of us who grew up before the Internet age know what I mean. If you displayed behavior in public like people do behind their keyboard, you’d get your butt whipped or hauled off to jail.
The fact that people actually defend the right to curse in public (and that’s what this is) makes me wonder why parents stopped instilling morals, values and manners in kids now-a-days. It’s not just in-game, it’s society as a whole.
I guess the bottom line here is, it’s Anets world and Anets laws. You break them, you pay the price…..even if it should be a no-brainer manners thing. Sorry, but I’m glad you got suspended.
We have short bows that shoot rainbows and unicorns and you’re worried about a broom??!!
I’d like to see you try and manage a team of dev’s trying to keep a game this large up to date and bug free. With nearly infinite scenarios possible within the game itself, and not to mention the infinite possible combinations of software/hardware combinations on the client end, it is impossible to foresee each and every bug.
Compare GW2 with TheWarz and you’ll see you’re nitpicking compared to the issues they have over there.
It’s been done before. That’s why other MMO developers have live test servers. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
It’s in beta #6 now….
Gem Store 2 or Shooting in the dark.
I think it’s silly as well. Looks like it should be on Teletubbys or Wizard101. But whatever makes your boat float.
It looks like it’s all the same still. See my attachment. Immagination is a powerful thing. hehe
(Seriously though, my hope for a FOV and camera pivot height slider to be implemented still stands strongly.)
Nice Makovorn. Thanks for doing that. I guess we’re all a bit paranoid :-)
…..and I’ll +100 you on the POV slider!
Hi everyone,
There have been no documented changes in the patch notes related to the FoV as far as we know. The idea stated by Iruwen of comparing 2 screenshots could be helpfun anyway.
Thanks
Thanks, I just realized I still use -testVerticalFov but I didn’t notice a difference when I turned it off. I guess I am really imagining it… weird… I shall go bang my head against a brick wall for being silly
The Mod said “documented changes”. Doesn’t mean something was not broken. This game has a lot of undocumented changes, lol. But alas, maybe it’s just my imagination as well. Looking forward to comparing those screen shots.
The UI in this game is the most non-customizable in an MMO I’ve ever seen (and I’m not talking about add-ons). The UI in SWTOR was limited but still customizable. I was hoping, with this patch, they would at least make it where you could move the UI frames around. I’d like to move my target frame down near my skill buttons. That, and I had hoped TP preview would definitely be in this patch.
I doubt you will see a response saying that it was broken or changed with this last patch. At the very best, if it was changed, maybe it will be changed/fixed back in the next few patches. So many thing are broken with each patch, it’s hard to know what’s going on. It’s akin to shooting in the dark. There’s a reason other games utilize test servers.
I purchased a few unident dyes off the TP the other day, and low and behold, one of them was abyss!
I did a double take as well. Couldn’t figure out if it was just my imagination.
To know why the combat speed is reduced, all you have to do is a little deductive reasoning. By moving slower in combat, you have a harder time running if you need to get away = a greater chance of dying = more money for repairing = less money on your character = ????
Do you have to manually type in the code, or is there a copy/paste method?
News flash! Anet is a business. They are here to make money. As with any other business, sales are a good thing. They’re designed to bring people in the front door. Just because you missed it, it’s not a shady business practice.
I like sales. I even like one-day sales. I wish they would have a one-day sale every weekend. See how that works? I think the OP is arguing just for the sake of arguing. Please don’t feed the trolls.
If you try the purchase several times in a row, even if unsuccessful, the system will lock, and prevent you from making a gem purchase. It happened to me today and I sent a support ticket. I got a response back withing 15 minutes and my account had been unlocked and I could make the purchase.
Not saying that’s your problem, but just food for thought.
Well this is exactly what pisses me most on GW2. ANet tried to make combat more FPS-like, yet they didn’t do a kitten about controls.
All I can say about this is: ANet, please download Dungeons and Dragons Online, check how their camera system / targetting system works (especially ability to lock cursor into 3rd person game with crosshair) and implement it for GW2, it will be awsome and it will sort lot of problems. Oh and while you’re at it, check how to do proper control customization, GW2 is like aplha version in these regards.
This is one of the things that bothers me most. I really enjoy the game, but it lacks so many little polished features that any modern MMO should have by default. Some UI customization (not talking about add ons), TP preview, an extra hotbar for food and such without having to open bags, ability to customize chat text colors, ect. There are tons of little things like this that were not included that the game has always felt rushed to market to me.
Thank you for the update. Very much appreciated!
Since we are/were playing the game, we all agreed to the user agreement section 11 (i):
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/“You understand that You have no fundamental right whatsoever to use the Game, and that You understand that NCsoft may in its sole and absolute discretion terminate Your ability to access or use the Game for any reason or for no reason whatsoever as detailed above under Section 3;”
But ofc, nobody ever reads that and then whines about getting banned.
Do we really need more arm-chair lawyers pointing out EULA quotes. These are just as bad as the “I got banned” QQ posts.
When the automobile was in its infantcy, it did not have air conditioning. Now don’t you expect a new, state of the art, car to have air conditioning? Of course you do. Some new cars are released with problems and bugs to fix, but they have air conditioning rolling off the lot.
I’d pay real money to be able to move the UI components around on screen and to be able to move the weapon buttons around like the skill buttons. I’d love to have an exrta bar to be able to put food on and weapons to swap. I guess I took for granted that a modern day MMO would have small polished features such as this.
I like TC and I’m not a RPer. Tomaaaato/Tamahhhto
A server by any other name……
I really like this game, but the nickel and diming us to the cash store is the reason I don’t recommend GW2 to anyone anymore.
I still recommend it to people cause its still a good game and I’m hoping that Anet will wake up and fix this game and make it the game they told us we’d be getting in the manifesto….. (Although that would mean fixing the terrible story as well….)
I’d love to agree with you, but unfortunately, I think that ship has sailed. There’s a new captain at the helm and his name is Ca$h.

I purchased a pack of dyes off the gem store last week and it had Abyss in it.
To the OP, I do agree with you. We have become a society with no class, morals, politeness or consideration for others. Many parents do not teach these things to their children anymore.
I’m retired military, so I’m no saint. But I do know there is a time and place for everything. Also, I try to live by the “Golden Rule”. I wonder how many kids now a days know what that is?
Can you tell me how to do that? I have +10% runes and the signet mastery trait, but there is still around a 16 second gap when my swiftness runs out and my signet comes off cool down.
+10% of 30s is only 3s, and 80% of 60s is 48s, so a 15s gap would be expected.
Do you have any points in Tactics?
I do not. What trait helps in the Tactics line? Quick Breathing?
Also, the animation for swiftness goes away when the swiftness ends, and at the same number of seconds with or without the runes equiped.

Still wondering why we have a horrible system like transmutation stones and not appearance slots.
Because they sell trans stones = more RL money. I guess they could sell appearance slots as well. Everything is designed around the $ bleed.
Is it your job to advertise?
Geez, he’s just trying to help out people. Maybe give it a try…
Need to fix all the bugs on the old ones first.
Probably the PX.
I understand what you mean…. Everything they have been doing just seems like a way to squeeze money out of players.
Everything about this game derives from that one factor. I like this game, I just hate that’s it’s ALL about the cash shop.
In the end, it would defeat the gold sink/gem store doctrine. Less drive to buy gems. It’ll never happen.
Previewing items on a trading post/auction house should be a beta release feature on a modern day, cutting edge MMO. Even Everquest had that over 10 years ago. Talk about a step backwards…..
Why would they release it right after daily reset, on a Friday night…
Because they just got done coding the last line, which is what’s really troubling.
Too funny!!! Sad thing is…it’s probably true.
ALS, NCOA or SNCOA?
Bad word filter replacing bad words with “kitten”.
I stopped reporting after I realized they made crafting materials cheaper. Support the bots <3
LOL…..^This
If the game ever leaves beta……yea, maybe.
I saw them in Best Buy yesterday.
Well for one thing, if you were paying attention you would know that the complaints weren’t about grinding, they are all about forcing a single gameplay style, making crafting obsolete and useless, making all the material that we need to craft even the infused runes drop solely in a single dungeon, and breaking their word (manifesto).
GW2 players don’t mind the grind as evidenced by the large number of people buying this game to farm mats to craft, farm karma to buy gear. People don’t mind running dungeons as an OPTION either. It’s when it’s the ONLY option that it becomes a problem.
That’s the issue. Not that they added a new tier (because there was a gap).
the content is optional. no one is forcing anything. if you don’t want to do it, don’t. they’ve also stated that there will be other ways to obtain the gear. just do what you find fun. the gear doesn’t matter. it’s not required.
Guys, El Hefe is trolling just to get a rise out of people. If not, he’s…..well, let’s just say you’re beating a dead horse.
You know…..that’s a very good point.
OOH! Back to the Apples and Oranges. The penultimate in analogies!!!!!!!!
I’ve already said that everything about this situation is opinion. That’s just repeating things again.
Which makes my very first point…..
Fine. I like analogies.
Lets change it to Football.
You have a team in college. They play by certain rules. Then they get bought by a professional team and all those rules go right out the window.
They could always stay with college football and never join the professional team. Doesn’t make the pro’s stop existing. It’s still there.
Stop with the analogies. There’s always another one. Always. It’s the rule of analogies.
Kind of like opinions, huh?
By the way, do pro football teams buy college teams, change the rules and still make them play other college teams? If not, apples/oranges.
Good point. Edited since I didn’t want to look like I was resurrecting a closed thread. This discussion is about the analogy.
Sorry there was no food.
I think a lot of people do not truly comprehend what the change in design philosophy means and how it affects the game as a whole.
Look at it like this…. NASCAR has specific rules and regulations for how the cars are setup and what equipment can be run on them. Let’s say that I buy a car, hire a driver and start racing.
I know what I’m getting into, since I understood the rules and regs at the beginning. Everyone is on the same playing feild. Three months later, NASCAR says "we have found a special kind of metal that we are going to allow you to use in building engines. It will make the car faster. BUT, you must mine the metal yourself and manufacture the engines yourself.
Only the largest, wealthiest car owners can afford to mine and manufacture the engines. Thus their cars will be faster, and the smaller owners will be at a disadvantage. Some people might say “this is America, where everyone has the exact same opportunity”. But, unfortunately, it’s not like that in the real world.
Now all the “super car” owners get together and tell the “regular car” owners that you must have the new engines to race with them.
And thus, Pandora’s box is opened….and the playing field is no longer level. The regular car owners end up saying "if I can’t compete, and they won’t let me race with them….what’s the point? And they sell their cars and quit the racing business, or change over to Indy Cars, hoping it will be more fair and balanced. Thus, NASCAR suffers as a whole.

OP…..we sir, see eye to eye.
