With how overpowered burning is right now, you guys would be sorely missing Tome of Wrath with that aoe burning spam on 1…imagine the mayhem and tears of all the melting people. THAT would have been burst dps on a cooldown, now its just a boon bot.
Yah we traded for a downgrade in damage, but gained pve group utility (pvp people tend to use renewed focus still, and signet of courage is meh).
Feel my Wrath is half the utility that tome of wrath was able to provide, which is simply haste on demand…i didn’t use tome of wrath for the haste though, and i dont think many did except for very small percentages of the dungeon crowd.
Signet of Courage is all the bad of tome of courage without any of the good, long cast time interrupt-able full heal. Yet you don’t gain stability when traited, you dont get increased stats when in “tome form” to soak up more damage while trying to channel it, and you don’t get an aoe heal spam on the 1 key.
I see the signet and shout as subpar potential to what the tomes “could” have been if they were tweeked more.
Yes I would totally love 2 stacks of burn for 2 secs while locking myself out of everything else >.> WW can give more stacks with VoJ thats how great the tome was.

Because it was an undeniably INCREDIBLY overpowered skill. Not to justify the severity or method with which they nerfed it, but it was a full condition transfer from up to 5 people, an AoE Plague Signet, it deserved a nerf, just not the one they gave it.
they couldve just added a limit per person and not make it self only.

Damage went up by a lot in pvp with the new patch and survivality stayed about the same so… pvp is a mess right now.
The only broken thing about FMW is the no target cap bug on shouts that they supposedly fixed.
were you surrounded by allies? the binding blade projectiles are only created if targets are within range so they wouldnt hit that hard if you were alone.
If you really like it and you have a good guild it wont be a problem at all. If you play solo and pug dungeons it will be tough starting out because there is a lot of prejudice against necros for not bringing much support to the party, until recently lacking cleave, and supposedly low dps .
Staff needs the old marks back, Putrid mark used to be great group support and Mark of blood was better at applying bleeds.

yay we have another business genius sugesting the dying subscription model that every MMO has been dropping the past few years. Heck even wow added an alternative to subsciption with the time tokens.
Well guys its back how it used to be, no decent GM trait in Zeal like it’s been for the past 2 years. At least we enjoyed it for 2 weeks.
If you really want to heal w/o being dead weight go clerics or better yet zealots, nomads makes you a burden yo your party that makes fights longer.
Probably has low AP playing with the wrong build and weapons, or didnt read the lfg. I’ve joined countless zerker only runs with my necro and Ive never been kicked.
they droprate from coe and champ bags isnt bad, if anything there’s too much demand for it but the acquisition is is fine.
@ Op just looking at your two pictures, the only thing the level 2 has more of is power, everything else the 80 has almost double of.
I really think what happened is people relied so much on their characters and builds being OP that now that it’s more balanced, people’s skill is starting to show. . . and well people don’t like the realization that they aren’t as good as they thought they were.
Except power is the only important stat pre-80. None of that other stuff is remotely relevant until level 80. My level 21 mesmer in greens hits harder than my level 80 mesmer in full 80 exotics/ascended gear when attacking the same appropriately leveled mobs. That should simply not be the case.
its not relevant because you dont gain the benefits that a lvl 80 gets like traits superior runes and sigils. The reason why your lvl 20 mesmer hits harder is probably because you are either using auto attack or you are lacking damage multipliers on your lvl 80. cause theres no way a lvl 21 guard hits harder than my 80 guard with ZB FW UC and RP even with 80 more power.

4% to 8% crit chance is meh.
Level 40s also have skills and traits and is better level 20 than a level 80 is a level 20.

unless you are doing custom arenas theres no way for them to get into the same pvp matches with her with frequency and if you are in a custom arena you can just ban them from your arena.
death spiral will be the only skill that will benefit significantly from lifesteal the rest of skills on GS are just too slow compared to daggerAA.
Diamond skin eles hard counter condi builds, I was fooling around with my guard friend in our custom arena and he couldnt drop me below 90% health until he was practically dead no matter how hard he tried with his incineration build.
Problem with blind and warrior is that their pvp viable weapons mostly have 1 single big hit and an easily read telegraph, if they had more multi hit skills that were viable in pvp it wouldnt affect them as much since only 1 of the hits would miss while the rest would connect. The only multi hit skills that do decent damage are on non viable weapons or root you like volley or hundred blades.
You dont need a group for any achievement I soloed all of them within 24hrs after release. And the only truly hard achievement is the one where you sneak into the asura facility without ever getting caught delivering the last hit on the boss.

Bearbows are a real issue in dungeons though. As soon as I see a bear I give them 5 mins to see how they fight and if they start causing havoc …
Imo the active needs to apply 3 stacks of burn instead of a single stack, but reducing the cooldown just de values the reset on kill trait, makes the class more unbalanced in 1v1 etc.
Highest Radiant Retal Damage I’ve Seen: 441
That was going full Condi, with about 16 stacks of Might, with WvW Guard stacks, 25 stacks of Corruption, etc. (armor was exotic, trinkets ascended). Without any might, I had 2612 Condition Damage. So with full Might, it may have done around 475.
Taking a more balanced approach between Retaliation, Burning, and Survivability, you can still achieve Retaliation numbers over 350 while having 100% burn duration and 45% boon duration.
441… 350… 290… these numbers may not be a huge improvement over your Power retal damage, but if you are running full condi, all of these numbers are an enormous improvement over the 180 you’d be doing if you didn’t take this trait and only had 1000 Power.
how do you get 100% burn duration and 45% boon duration AFAIK best boon duration food is 20% and condi duration food is 40%
I have some bad news, unfortunately the trait “Retribution” which increases your damage while 10% while you have retaliation DOES NOT WORK! It actually increases sword and spear damage by 10%. I hope this can be fixed so that my condition-based retaliation build can be even stronger.
Are you sure it’s not just tooltips ? cause thse sword damage doesnt seem to increase with it on but it does with retaliation
for an aegis build you should use rune of resistance but tbh communal defense is mediocre now with the new 15 sec internal cooldown
the internal cooldown used to be 20 secs it never had no internal cooldown >.>
The traits is so OP it should be removed from the game, lets riot til it is
An even more noticeable test is to stand on your symbol for the whole duration with and without the trait and the change should be obvious.
isnt Avenging wrath a paladin skill in wow? I thought AW stood for Amplified Wrrath.
1- I’m using my power ranger in both PvP and pve andit still seems pretty effective in both modes
2- I tested traps yesterday in pve they didnt perform poorly they did decent damage considering I had zerker armor. Spirits on the other hand are bad, the only spirit I use in pve is frost for the damage boost. The GM trait is more insulting than useful, 1s of might every 3s? You gotta be kidding me. The actives killing the spirits is another mistake (look at spirit weapons), lastly not having an option to make them mobile kills them for pvp.
3- I havent really tried.
4- YES! The damage was impressive but I dont think it will be easy to do it on pvp unless you join a fight and catch the enemy off guard. The maul burst requires a lot of setup and too much can go wrong.
5- I havent spent enough time trying out new builds
pretty sure it does it’s just not shown on the tooltip but the boons do last longer
They added damage to all ranger traps maybe they could add damage to to WoD and WoP
I found out about this the hard way when our warrior didn’t want to fetch the scepter pieces for AC path 1 and I volunteered. Boy was I not expecting to be chased by gravelings the whole time at a turtles pace due to combat. I didnt fail but it took longer than it should have >.>
1- Feel My wrath is a great option for PVE, but I dont see us dropping RF in pvp.
2- Meditation is still my staple build. Spirit weapons are still bad
3- I have made a symbol build and it’s not bad at all in pve but it wouldve been better with the 20% SA instead of 10 %
4- In PvE Im pretty happy, in pvp not so much

AH / Shout Guards will be clutch. Everytime you see chill, you convert it and /laugh at all the condi’s stack up but do no damage.
you cant pick which condition to convert so shout guards are dead as soon as they get condi bombed

We have 100% swiftness uptime while stationary with a staff :S
the toughness from strength in numbers never affected the old retributive armor, empower allies never affected kindled zeal etc. Only base and armor stats are affected by conversion traits.

You would need to get hit by all 3 Grenade to get that number and those hits need to crit and proc at a chance of 15%. The possibility of this amazing number can happen is nowhere near realistic.
For Grasping Dead, when traited you have a base Bleeding of 14sec + 20%(trait) + 20%(Sigil) + 45% (Rune) = 24.9sec

Before becoming ground targeted MI was popular in meditation builds because seldomly it allowed guards to disenage( it was also bugged and procced the MF heal twice) and it had a shorter cooldown than the alternative but after it became ground targeted Ive seen more people pick Contemplation of purity because its more difficult to get the teleport off in the heat of battle. Does anyone still use the skill?
I was running arround queensdale fooling around and I noticed protector’s impact blocking 5 ranged attacks in a row did they mention this anywhere or have I been out of the loop?
the answer is so simple to all the nerfs we got,all retire the guard and all guards play for example Engi,once the servers are overpopulated by engis they will nerf it and we move to the next class and so on till we get it to the guard lvl in nerfs,after we can take out our guards again :P
the problem with that is that most of us already have most if not all classes at 80
Zerk amulet may not work for guard, but they’ve made the same thing and just moved it over to another amulet. I saw the mes and thief changes and while they seem a smidge daunting (like you really have to be on your best game vs a decent player of these classes) I’m not really fazed. That being said, I very well may have my kitten handed to me post patch, but then again I might not. Start crying bloody murder after you actually try the thing. This is like the DH QQ all over again.
Personally I think will be fine in pvp if they fix the ridiculuos condition damage some classes have (engi >.>). PVE on the other hand I feel like we are being fixed w/o being broken. SA became really weak for a GM trait because it has to meet too many conditions to work w/o Honor Traited Hammer AA. GS has a 25% uptime on it and mace has ~50% uptime combined it would be something like 65%-75% uptime that requres your targets not to move out of the symbol so its a less reliable FW on a GM slot. Meanwhile warriors are getting a 20% multiplier close to 100% of the time.

And you got my post wrong. I’m saying that there are a lot of classes that have been neglected for up to 3 years from most game modes because they couldn’t offer anywhere near as much as a guardian could. With guardians being clipped substantially maybe we will see better balance.
Then who knows, maybe guards can get buffs to things they need buffing or a way to GTFO on mediguard.
Like what ele/ warrior/thief/ mesmer? those were alreadyin the meta speedrun parties guardians have been phased out of that for a while, we are only part of of the not so speedy speedruns because its easier to carry bad people with a guard. Our damage is not amazing by any means and all we had going for us (damage multipliers) either got slashed or became more conditional (less % uptime) . The classess that actually needed more attention got screwed by this patch just like us ( necro corruption changes and ranger only got pet stats in exchange for damage multipliers)
Don’t worry, they’ve nerfed Symbolic Avenger to +10% damage. So our damage isn’t going to be in symbols, because it isn’t going to be anywhere anymore!
that trait never went live with 20% so you can’t really call 10% a nerf since its never officially been anything else.
well we did lose 3% on FW, 10% on radiant power, and everything that they shwed on livestreams got nerfed to oblivion. So its like they took us to the toyshop and shiowed us all the amazing toys on the window and then took our toy as an entry fee only to find out that the windows showed stickers of the toys and the actual toys are old and worn out.
