Sorry..one last note (too lazy to edit)
Devs are well aware of this spot. We had a dev watch us a few weeks ago and farm with us for a bit for 15 mins, then logged off.
It’s not real hard to fix. Just throw in some nobles, a champion abomination with charge and no one will be able to farm it ever again.
and good luck trying to find someone to complete the Lyssa chain when it happens
Hey, I don’t want the farm to stop :P
People will still be able to complete the Lyssa chain – just need to dps down those walls (don’t need to kill any mobs)

And just for you folks who want to go around and report people for intentionally failing an event…
I used to farm anchorage waypoint by intentionally failing it back in December. I got reported, still waiting for a ban. Only reason why I don’t do it anymore is because Arenanet buffed the pre-event to make it impossible to complete.
I love it when people label farmers as exploiters
Or that choosing to fail an event is exploiting
PS: I got a precursor farming it yesterday

I’m not in game so I cannot see the price listings.
But you simply don’t have enough gold to control precursors enough to manipulate for profit. Yes, 2kg to 2.5kg is a lot but you will need to buy all the dusk on the market in order for this to be worthwhile.
If you have 8 characters running cof all day then I really don’t know why you would be interesting in flipping precursors. The profit potential is not worth the investment or the risk when you could be running your cof farm.
Yeah I hate it when the chat goes away.
If I have a feeling that I will get kicked (perhaps disagreements in group or shady players) I take a screenshot so I can refer to it later.
I do not recommend flipping precursors since the risk of loss is high
you need to consider if the spread between buy order and lowest sell order is high enough to off set the TP fees + have good room to make profit
You also need to be aware of the risk of getting undercut and that you may have a hard time selling it, forcing you to eat up that 30-40g fee.
There are several items in the store which I don’t think the average player (or average gem store purchaser) would buy.
Underwater swiftness? Repair canister? Revive Orb? Hell no.
I too don’t understand why they would spend time programming these items when the time could be used to invest in other better items.
ahh good old vision of the mists. It was my first major weapon that I couldn’t bring myself to destroy it when I got my Sunrise…so I ended up trick transmuting it to another character and now it’s with my beloved purple Charr.
It’s easily the 3rd best greatsword in the game.
RIP dragon event timer
gw2stuff pageviews is gonna skyrocket
I always recommend to people when getting into investing of any kind to define your outs before you invest. Pick numbers for profit and loss and time early and stick to them.
I spent about 1000g investing in super skins and right now their market value has dropped to around 300g. ;(
I still think this is a long-term investment but I’m thinking I may have to sell at a huuuuge loss. I’ve had huge runs of big profits on investment opportunities but I was bound to get a huge loss.
But it’s OK, I have lots of gold and just picked up The Legend ;| – it’s a good thing I didn’t invest ALL my money.
I paid 32g for one of the F&F dyes before the event ended. It currently sits at 44g.
Now the problem I personally have: I want to use it for myself, but dang what a profit loss if I do!
You can always make money through other methods, so I’d use it.
Yeah I remember when they both dropped silver. I HATED doing Arah and so I did this farm to get my 500 tokens for Bifrost.
Because legendaries are end game, BIS items and personal story isn’t really all that hard?
Talk for yourself. Id rather bang my head against a brick wall whilst getting run over by a truck than do the personal storyline again.
Oh comon, dealing with Trahearne isn’t that difficult..
^ What Rainzar said. Although it still baffles me that there’s no transmute recipe for Copper Doubloons -> Silver Doubloons. (Or Gold Doubloons -> Platinum, but there’s not much demand for those anyway.)
That’s why I’m stock piling on copper doubloons! Several months back I bought several stacks at about 3g a piece. The risk is minimal and the price hasn’t dropped much since then.
As soon as they release a transmutation recipe it’ll go waaay up.
You will most likely get infracted and the name’s removed.
You know how easy it is for people to slander?
I could go around these forums and claim that Crawford.4135 is botting too…and you can’t prove otherwise.
So just use the in-game report tool and hope from there.
Maybe your server is just not WvW oriented, or everyone is used to losing that morale is very low.
item/gold sinks working at it’s finest.
Nothing wrong with that.
It’s not hard to get wealthy in this game.
Enlighten me. "Playing the game" is not the way.
10g is impressive but no where near the richest people in the game.
Really?
10kg probably in the top 5%
I’m sure there are loads of people up there who farm cof all the time for hours on hours. Not to mention you have people who are extremely good at flipping and can make hundreds of gold in a day.
If anything, Arenanet should reward tokens from the mystic forge for doing rare/exotic combines. i.e. 1 token for every 4 rare combine in the forge. Or 4 tokens for every exotic combine
In the end you can spend these combines on a precursor. Of course, the # of tokens for a precursor should be balanced so that it would be expensive and take awhile.
you get it by getting all cultural armor, which costs gold
so:
-convert gems to gold
-farm cof1 all day
-farm malchor all day
not sure if you need to be a certain race to buy the armor, so if you need to, you need all characters.
So what would you prefer – price manipulation in that all goods are sold at the same price point?
It’s not hard to get wealthy in this game. 10g is impressive but no where near the richest people in the game.
If you find it hard to earn then you have to learn how to farm.
I make +50g a day (20g weekdays) without running cof farming
But then people say, “But I shouldn’t be forced to farm in order to make money! I should just be playing the game the way I want to in order to make money!”
I’m sorry to tell you but if Arenanet made a system where playing the game the ‘right’ way without farming was profitable enough, farmers would have already found the best routes/areas to make money. Which would bring us full circle and starting over again.
I undercut by a lot if I think the current price is too high.
Example you have several lvl 80 rare greatswords (ignoring berserker since that has a much higher value)
If the price is usually in the 33s range, but I come across some other random greatsword, like say, Krait Slayer at 40s, then obviously it’s not in the correct price range and undercutting by a few copper will make me waste my listing fee. So I undercut by 5s and bring it down to 35s.
Yeah you’re understating the # of messages. You get this message if you spam a lot and admit it, you were spamming.

-Reusable salvage kit
I’d totally buy these kits – I’d pay up to 1000 gems if it were equal to master kit quality.
-Unlimited guest transfers
Results in being able to pick another guest server instead of waiting 24 hours until reset. You still have a maximum of 2 guest servers to choose from.
Precursors are a luxury item. Luxury items are more vulnerable to price fluctuations due to limited supply and demand.
Please don’t spread misinformation RedCobra and tout it off as ‘fact’. Everything here is opinion.
Did anet make any charges to the arrow carts yet? I’m on a WvW boycott until otherwise
I tested with plenty of gold buffs
the infusion, the omnom and the zone buff
and champs only reward no more than 3s
and mobs drop a few copper
This is waaaaay to small and it seems with these numbers, no one will want to run with the gold buff. At least make both choices reasonable.
Looks like they nerfed it indirectly.
You can still get lots of loot and mobs still spawn a lot
But the walls now destroy easily and one person can destroy it despite the event being upscaled to 82.
I’m so lucky
I got two chests in the first two days straight from mobs.
The first one gave me the naked chick (it was selling at 40g at the time)
The second one gave me a token and I bought the hammer with it
It seems those who are rich continue to get rewarded ;D
The best PvE moment was the story mission where you go up the Arah steps. The key here is the music. It sounds very regal but also that a battle is coming up. Made me flash back to the good times of Orr.
I think we really could use more dynamic events. There are whole areas that don’t have anything running (like outside the karka hive).
Also, it’s the mobs have not changed. They are insanely hard to kill and hit tremendously hard.
As they should be, they’re veterans in a level 80 area.
The veterans in this map are much much harder than veterans elsewhere. For one, they have double hp and near 1-hit attacks.
And I was talking about the normal mobs – the normal karka can get you to half hp in the first few seconds while the reef mobs have ridiculous confusion.
I knew someone who opened 10 BL chests and received two fused weapon tickets and an Abyss dye. I also knew someone who opened 87 BL chests and received nothing.
Assuming this anecdote is true, and assuming they paid cash for the gems instead of converting gold (a big assumption, I’ll admit) it perfectly illustrates the case against rng items. Person B was clearly willing to spend the cash to get a cosmetic item. But because rng – something that is completely beyond a player’s control – was not favorable to them, they had to go without something they obviously wanted.
RNG = Luck.
Let me put it this way:
Person A purchase ONE lottery ticket and won millions of dollars.
Person B purchased an entire lot of lottery tickets and won nothing.Because luck – something that is completely beyond anyone’s control – was not favorable to everyone. Therefore, lots of people have to go without something they obviously wanted.
This isn’t the lottery. It’s not a casino. It’s a video game. If someone wants an item, why should he/she be denied that item because of luck? If someone is willing to put forth the effort in-game or is willing to spend cash in a cash shop to obtain an item, should that not be enough?
Remember, games are supposed to be fun. What’s fun about being told “you can’t have the items you want because you weren’t lucky enough”? We’re not talking about a lack of effort, and we’re not talking about an unwillingness to spend money; we’re talking about bad luck – in a video game – preventing one from getting the items they want.
And for companies, games aren’t meant to be fun. They’re meant to make money.
“This assuming they’re supposed to be the first Apothecary back items”
What if I want toughness to be the main stat?
They have the correct stat.
So let’s see:
-you don’t have enough money for gems
-you don’t have enough time to play the game
But it seems you want the rewards anyways?
I think we really could use more dynamic events. There are whole areas that don’t have anything running (like outside the karka hive).
Also, it’s the mobs have not changed. They are insanely hard to kill and hit tremendously hard.
It’s really depressing whenever I log on into Magumma. All the areas, including cities, are all either entirely empty or have a low population.
that’s cause Maguuma was a bandwagon server. It was a low-pop server until people decided to transfer to it before free transfers ended simply cause they were doing well. As soon as Maguuma failed people began to leave it.
10s is the usual tip from me.
If you don’t tip that’s fine but if you run off and don’t say anything that’s disrespectful
You have covered all that needs to be said. I feel bad for those who invested in karka shells.
On a separate note, if you want to convert your gold to gems, do it now if you plan on converting anyway. Don’t convert to invest but convert if you want to buy. When the logging tool comes out it’ll go way up.
It goes without saying though, sell your logs now (but you shouldn’t have invested in them anyway)
Yes it’s always dead. It’s full or Risen.
har har
Seriously though, it is dead except for one WP where everyone farms ;3
dun dun dun
save your badges people
Rift announced that you could buy your gear through the shop – if people are turned off about that, then…
In terms of items, I can see ascended being rolled out with it.
The cool thing I like about living story is seeing before/after pics to take a look at what has changed the landscape. Unfortunately I did not take as many pictures as I did back in November, but I’m hoping some of you folks have taken some screenshots of certain areas that have been changed into resorts.
A nice example is this, courtesy of @dragonseasoncom

We’ll look into it, minis should always be able to go into your collectibles storage.
Thanks for the heads up!
Darnit, now I have to put that mini in an invisible slot -_-
Im having trouble figuring out why Anet would care what the player-set price of ectos are? o.O
They definitely pay attention to it. Because they don’t want content to be easily attainable, especially rare or treasured items. If people already have the highly-demanded items in, lets say, a week, then what is the purpose of them being in the game?
I think they’ll increase ectos to a point where it’ll be around 25s again. I don’t think they want it to drop below 15s again.
Last I checked ecto was around 20. I’ll buy up when it reaches 18s. I can buy up to 400g worth.
