I hate this kitten, I was selling ASAP because I thought they will drop to ~50 silver and now they sykrocketed, everytime I’m trying to speculate I get kittened in the kitten
We all have those days
welcome to the club.
It will be a lot more efficient converting those gems to gold and buying 20 slots, I think.
Or do what I do – settle with 15 slot bags and run fractals to get your 20 slot boxes.
You are very likely to see them come back this month.
If they do not, I will send you 5g.
Yeah, a lot of people were expecting him to have a greater role ever since he popped up back in LA and ended up getting locked away at the Vigil Keep.
He may very well play a role in LS 2, or we may find out more details in the epilogue.
The End. Answers? I really didn't find any.

Are you guys impatient or what? You really want a patch that tells the whole story and makes the next few years of GW2 irrelevant?
It’s like asking a patch for Season 2 to reveal all the spoilers.
Have patience, geez.
Wait for the epilogue, then complain.
So much that ^
chuckle +1
Can we chuckle if the epilogue doesn’t answer any of the living story season 1 questions and concerns?
Absolutely. I’d be there with you complaining if we didn’t get any conclusion.
But complaining now isn’t helpful at all because we aren’t done.
Why open up new zones when the majority of the playerbase doesn’t even utilize some of the zones we have right now?
New zones are such a huge undertaking and the excitement level falls off pretty hard. I’d rather have Anet design the game to add more value/playtime among current maps than make new ones.
1.) Karka queen’s physical chest was changed from unlimited to once per day per account. This was changed 4-6 weeks ago.
2.) There is currently a loot bug involved for watchknights.
The GW2 wiki is community run. Anyone can go in there and edit information and turn speculation into fact.
For example, the note about Magus Falls is speculation. For all we know, he could be in the Wastes.
Keep in mind that you still have more than a week left to complete this, and it happens every hour. If you truly are intent on playing on a server that is guaranteed to win, go guest to the higher level servers. You can try for SoR. Guest at the 30 minute mark and if you end up on the overflow, you will end up in main as players leave or move into the story instance.
Disconnections/bugs are an issue throughout the game and are often rare. I have yet to DC in this event, so perhaps there was just a nasty bug that hit you.
Also, do not WP out of the ship. When you die, it even warns you. There is no way to get in again.
I doubt items are removed from permanent bans, considering that there are accounts that get permanently banned and then revoked. Many innocent players have got the permanent ban message for innocently sending gold or farming certain controversial spots, but they often get revoked after a review.
I guess the best people to ask are the people that got permanently banned and then had it revoked after a few weeks.
Maybe I’ll be one of those. I accidently sent one of my alts 100G instead of 10G last night. When I come home, I hope I’m not banned ;(
I really would prefer it if they didn’t release pertinent information through twitter.
Assuming this account is real.
FGS champ train is old school money maker, but extremely boring and may make you hate this game
Consider doing metaevent trains on reset.
So…. would this fall into the realm of exploiting a bug for personal gain?
I doubt it, since taking advantage of market prices which were influenced by a bug is distant enough (let alone difficult and unfair to police).
In regards to #2…
Party has two main uses
a.) Buff priority
b.) Pooled loot credit
Buff priority – If you and your party is in the general vicinity, and group buffs will be applied to them first. Otherwise, other players not in the party will get it. This is a big advantage, especially when you need extra speed.
b.) This is more of a concern in large zergs. In order to get credit for loot, you need to reach a certain damage threshold. In small numbers, you can easily reach this threshold. But the more players involved in killing a mob, the more people you will compete against. To help reach this threshold, join a party, since the damage is pooled together. You will, of course, have to do damage and don’t expect the party to carry you.
- on this note, Watchknights in the current release do not drop loot anyways, so if you see people complaining about this ‘theory’ (which I have tested with over +3500 hours in game), it’s due to a bug.
The price skyrocketed today because power cores/watchknight loot has dropped off considerably. There is speculation it is a bug or that they nerfed it to one per day, so supply is getting drained.
Nerfing it to 1 per day, would mean you will be lucky to get 10 cores of 1 color within 14 days.
Mm, Yeah I guess that would be very unreasonable.
I hope they don’t patch it before I can get a chance to sell them all. Working sucks.
Yeah I generally do not recommend investing in lower-priced commodities unless you have
a.) a lot of capital invested in it
b.) extremely confident it will go up
c.) an alt account that uses TP as storage
For example, mithril ore rising from 30c to 50c would only result in 50s profit per stack (taxes not incl). When you consider how much bank space you need to have this worthwhile, it is not worth it. There are opportunity costs in investing.
If you had an alt account that stockpiled, say, 2000G worth of mithril ore at 30c (appx 666K mithril), then you would end up with 1333 gold in profit.
This is why I have 3 alt accounts. I invest in three lower-priced commodities and each of them has several hundred gold in them and use the TP as storage so that bank opportunity costs are kept to a minimum
These commodities I’m investing in are at a low right now, and I’m 100% extremely confident that I will make a return of at least 300% off other speculators in the near future, and possibly 560% this commodity gets actual use.
Oh and one of those commodities, everyone knows is Thick Leather Sections, but the other two are the ones I’m talking about!
In regards to your your example of salvage components being worth more than armor, it’s not something that happens everyday. Profit from doing such a thing is miniscule and you would have to always keep an eye on several items every 15 minutes, not to mention the velocity of this type of market is slow, so it’s not efficient at all.
If you want to take advantage of this type of strategy, you almost always have to do it on patch days.
For example, when the tempered backpieces came out 3 weeks ago, iron ore prices rose initially.
A lot of people of course will consider buying into iron ore and speculating on that directly, but there are other markets that in turn react less quickly since there are less buyers in the know.
Armors/jewels that salvage iron ore are markets you would buy up. Copper ore and it’s related armors/weapons/jewels are markets that you could buy up.
Some other key advice:
-Understand the game and be in the know
If you constantly play the game, you may be privy to real-time events that are going to change the market. For example, the latest patch fix removed core/box loot from the watchknights, whether it was unintentionally or intentional. The sheer number of people in guild and map chat led me to believe that this was a widespread issue, rather than an issue of people not doing enough DPS (which is often the case).
As a result, core supplies would be dried up very quickly after each hour (cores still drop from Scarlet fight, which is a tiny amount since not all maps reach her). I bought up dozens of cores at 70s, 1.3G and 2G. Now they are at 2G, 3G and 5G respectively.
Is it a good time to sell? We don’t know, and that’s the risk that flippers/speculators take. We don’t know yet if its intentional or when there is a fix.
We also don’t know the value of cores in the future, and whether there will be a way to get them. This is the type of questions speculators ask and gamble on.
Anyways I sort of trailed off topic – I’m not sure if you wish to be a flipper or speculator, but sometimes the two intertwine.
The End. Answers? I really didn't find any.

The # of pacifists playing in GW2 is so miniscule that Anet really doesn’t care about designing content around those type of people.
Well they are followed by several ArenaNet employees accounts, and they do seem to post stuff before available to the public (in case of Scarlets account).
That definitely supports that it could be ANet but doesn’t necessarily confirm its them. It could be someone who they collaborate with that has early access like dulfy
I don’t think dulfy gets early access now. Before she had achievement guides readily available but now she has been working on patch day collecting the data. Even the current patch is still a work in progress.
Not to mention, why would dulfy risk access by controlling a twitter account and making these ‘false’ posts?
The Scarlet Briar one is owned by Anet and confirmed indirectly.
The latest screenshots, for example, were taken before the patch was released. So you can infer that there is no way that a fan would have had accessed that screenshot before the patch.
Mordremoth is unconfirmed, and the high rate of activity right now from his twitter account makes me suspicious. Theo Nguyen, one of the designers/writers from Anet is following him, so take that for what you want.
That defeats the purpose of a trading post, which is to act as a gold sink. Precursors take out a large chunk of gold themselves.
After trying out LA, gold rate is pathetic. I thought the Scarlet rifles were super rare drops, but they are down to 70g or so.
Guess I’ll be going back to my normal farms.
The price skyrocketed today because power cores/watchknight loot has dropped off considerably. There is speculation it is a bug or that they nerfed it to one per day, so supply is getting drained.
Since the latest patch, I have not got any loot at all. 2 times now, in party
People have been banned for the Linen farm?
Who???
There was someone here who posted that they he and his friend got banned. I inquired privately with them and they described the exchange with me.
imo bad investment. Items that don’t get soulbound never rise that much. Although I suppose the power of quaggan could trump that, I don’t think it’s likely. Do you know how many of these things are floating around? That supply will never diminish.
Quaggan awesomeness aside, these will still increase. Even if, say 10k drop per day, that’s still 280k total of an item that everyone will want. Plus, there is a recipe that combines 10 of each endless to create a mystery tonic, which will further decrease numbers and increase price. In short, buy now.
(But wait, you ask. Is this post but a shameless attempt to inflate their price? Seems we will never know!)
Wait… what? What recipe is that?
10 of each endless quaggan tonic to make 1 endless mystery quaggan tonic.
Yes, people have been permanently banned for this, but it was revoked after a support ticket was sent in – with the condition that said exploitive farming would not continue, otherwise they would be permanently, permanently banned.
And before you say, “do it like GW1 and districts!”
…that doesn’t solve the problem. That’s another name for ‘overflow’
This isn’t Mass Effect or DA where you can choose which answer will result life, death, or a nice time in bed.
Ore and Fragments are not convertable, but dust is.
However, the end result items have dropped in price, so I’m not sure if there is any room for profit now
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pile_of_Bloodstone_Dust
The last 3 recipes on the page are the ones you can make.
^ That quote was not from Anet, but from the guy who ran that twitter account, who later said that the quote was ‘blown out of proportion’
That being said, I do expect new maps and all, but it’s not your typical expansion. An expansion to me is a dozen maps, a few new races, new weapons/skills/items.
The changes coming in Summer do not amount to an expansion worth anything close to $30.
Here’s the expansion of my characters and their uses:
Ar – sen – tis (stupid filter)- Main character, fully geared Human Guardian with 5 legendaries
Lyssa Raiine – Secondary main, Sexy Human Guardian with ascended
Really Bad Guardian – Big Asura Guardian farmer
Nyaarp – Cute Asura Guardian farmer
Feros Ashenheart – Geared Zerk Charr Warrior parked in Southsun for Karka
Shelt Got Nerfed – Junk Norn Engi used for mining/jp
Mayarden – Junk Sylvari Thief used for mining/jp
Alyssa Theron – Junk Human Ranger used for mining/jp
Quicksick Rampage – Geared Charr Ele used for mining/jp
Lyssa Whitewalker – Account bound item banker
If OP is going to get angry over that, then I must wonder how he survived in this game that long!
If you read the dulfy.net guide, you would get it in one try…
I just resort to guild shaming. Announce in map chat that ‘x’ guild is leeching.
Some smart players don’t rep their guild (even guild leaders) while they do it.
We don’t know if it is mordy yet but there will be a new treat to take the pacts attention
It’s 100% Mordremoth. Why would you think it’s any other dragon?
Because it looked like it was taking place deep underwater. It could be Bubbles. Thematically it makes FAR more sense to be Mordy, but it doesn’t have to be. Rather than opening up Maguuma, which would be awesome, they could be bringing together the stories of the Quaggan, Hyleck, Krait and (other aquatic race), as well as bringing together the Karka which basically started all this for us. What she did wasn’t necessarily to wake up a Dragon, but to make a beacon pointing it right to us.
Again, everything falls much better into place if it’s Mordy, it just doesn’t have to be.
This would all makes sense…but the mere presence of a butterfly shows that they are in fact in a Jungle – not underwater.
Look again and tell me how that looks like it’s underwater.
Trees, foliage, leaves…those blue ‘sparks’ are what we know as ‘sparkflies’
I just avoid the TP. I don’t want to be taken advantage of any more than I am already in game.
What, are you the TP version of a pacifist? You gather all your materials?
You should trie it, it can be fun. I play TP many hours per day so i have the gold but i have 1 Character i play selffound only and this Character is 80 in greens, yellow, 1 exo and i have most fun with him^^
Trie it , start new Character and play it without buying anything from TP, Gemshop or Karma
I’d rather quit than have a lvl 20 guardian end up with a lvl 7 cleric greatsword cause of RNG!
I’m not sure why you haven’t learnt, but it’s best to wait a few days for a patch to iron out the bugs…
Maybe if we had these game-breaking bugs for a week, I’d understand.
While I enjoy all the flash and pretty lights we are treated to in this chapter, I was wondering if it wasn’t also a problem for some players. Red-green colorblindness is a thing, after all, and requiring players to collect all the primaries to have an effect might lead to some confusion if you can’t tell your rubies from your emeralds.
They put symbols on the ground to help, as well as the symbols on the icons above your head
green = square
red = hourglass
blue= triangle
I know there are separate threads about the content and story around the cinematic, but I wanted to take the opportunity to say well done on the mechanics.
Dono if it was the new tool you guys have been hinting at, but it looks good. The cinematic feel a whole lot more involved and there is a measure of depth that was lacking in the “on-stage” cinematic before.
Well done.
dude i know i am so tired of watching cinematics over and over and not being able to skip them
Yeah all cinematics should be skippable.
The one in the instance where the NPC’s get blown away is not skippable, so if you want to do the stomp/shield achievement, you have to wait a long time to retry
Yeah the cinematic lead awhile back said that they updated their tools recently.
The art style in GW2 is unique and refreshing. I’m very happy that they continue to use it.
The cinematic portion is a bit different – it looks like it blends both the artistic paint brushes with a hint of 3D characters.
My only complaint is that the cinematic is too short. I don’t know how long it takes to design a 1 minute cinematic/art scene but it would be nice if we had a short 5 minute mini movie
We could get an item on the March 18th small update that replays the cutscene, or hopefully, a 5 minute long video that summarizes LS 1.
We need more constructive posts like this. Good read.
We don’t know if it is mordy yet but there will be a new treat to take the pacts attention
It’s 100% Mordremoth. Why would you think it’s any other dragon?
Because 500 crafting is supposed to be an expensive achievement?
Not every player is going to get 500.
I suggest you readjust your expectations since it’s fairly obvious you are not the type of player that lvl 500 crafting is tailored towards.
If you think lvl 500 is expensive due to a measley 5 ectos per discover, then I truly must wonder your reaction when you have to craft an ascended backpiece.
And obviously you do not know how farming works, otherwise you would know that it works and is the best gold generator in the game aside from TP. Heck, you don’t even have to farm to get 5 ectos. At a minimum you should be doing metaevents at reset for the guaranteed rare.
I just avoid the TP. I don’t want to be taken advantage of any more than I am already in game.
What, are you the TP version of a pacifist? You gather all your materials?
All classes at 80, except necro.
I also have 4 guardians.
Haha is there a reason?
DR is character bound, so having 4 guardians increases my gold intake significantly (not 4x).
You can never have enough guardians. Though I only have enough time to play all of them during weekends.
Yeah I think this would cause a lot more uproar than it is now.
You’d have players who feel blindsided that they should have achieved the LS metas to get this bonus reward.
You have to inform the players first for the rewards before handing them out, not after.
I think the account bound skin is more than enough.
