Features are not by definition tangible content.
Well, apparently the definition of feature is extremely loose; if removing repair costs counts as a feature, then I guess just about anything does.
Though I will agree that not everything in this patch is a feature. Removing something (especially if it’s a minor thing) is a not a feature. The Wardrobe and new Trait System is.

Features are not by definition tangible content.
They tried something new. People weren’t happy but they needed to finish the LS up or the same people would have complained that the content wasn’t finished.
You do realise that there will be a second season of Living Story right?

Maybe she’s an old hag and her young look is just an illusion. She is a mesmer after all.
Same with Queen Jennah, she’s also a mesmer and I can remind myself of reading something about “Queen Jennah never shows her true look”.
Plot twist: Countess anise is Queen Jennah.

The mortar needs to become a kit. Being able to put it down and pick it up and no cooldown.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I wish Piken Square had an active Asura roleplaying community. Unfortunately everyone is in Divinity’s Reach and Ebonhawke. And Rata Sum is always devoid of roleplayers

Look at gem prices. look at tp prices, there was a BIG jump once trains were introduced.
Do you have evidence to support this claim?

I think there may be some problems.
What about WvW buffs? Bloodlust, Bonus stack stats, specializations?
And more important, Retaliation and Confusion different versions? It’s an interesting idea to allow PvP in PvE areas similar to other MMOs and would spice up the gameplay but…
Not in a WvW format. Not with rotating servers.
Instead, bring back some kind of “Alliances” from Guild Wars 1:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kurzick
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/LuxonAnd make the battles between them. Not as huge and zergy as WvWvW because of lesser maps, but I’d find it fun.
Nobody is talking about pvp.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I think he’s just someone who didn’t like Champ farms, then when they get nerfed tries to be as inflammatory as possible towards the people who liked them.

From what we know, the dragons can’t corrupt the Sylvari. So a dragon isn’t responsible for it.
Jormag, Kralkatorrik, Primordus and Zhaitan are unable to Corrupt Sylvari.
Doesn’t mean the Deep Sea Dragon and Mordremoth can’t corrupt them as well.
Not until we have proof of this.

It takes less than a minute to guest to a server where it is open.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Someone actually made a pretty good thread about this one year ago (with some photoshopped screenshots even).
It was an amazing idea back then, and it still is. Hope this will be implemented one day. It’s supposed to be the endgame area, the final area you go to to defeat Zhaitan. It’s supposed to be special.

For those interested in what the OP is actually getting at:
Thank you for fixing these Champ Train exploits.
Thank you, at first I though he was talking about zerkers.

I like that it is agreed that Guardian is either close to, or actually the most stable/rounded profession, but it has a whole branch of utilities (Spirit Weapons) that are so weak they’re almost never, ever used.
Every class has some useless skills.
~Sincerely, Scissors
The guardian… That old dust covered relic left to rot and fester in the upper attic.
My god…it needs some fresh air…
The reason it barely recieved any significant changes is because the class already works.
No need to fix something that isn’t broken.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I’ll just leave this here.

Jon PetersDeath penalties make death in-game a more tense experience. It just isn’t fun. We want to get you back into the action (fun) as quickly as possible. Defeat is the penalty; we don’t have to penalize you a second time.
This was the way it was supposed to be in the original vision of the game. For some reason, ArenaNet took a detour for a year and a half, but seem to be coming back to some of their original talking points, like account-wide dyes, and no death penalty.
^This. The fact that I died and have to do a certain fight over again is enough penalty.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Repair costs are only a few silver, barely an incentive to not die.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Guardian definitely. Perfect balance between damage and survivability.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Well whatever the case, asura keep their size. period.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Not complaining about the upcoming patch btw, I’m really looking forward to it. But what you said is not true, they did not just announce a few quality of life updates
They really did hype it up, especially with this blog listThere’s a fairly significant difference between “content” and “features”, especially when it pertains to games.
Arena.net has not at any point announced anything pertaining to a “content” patch.
Nor did I ever state they did announce content. But Rainbow Sprint was apparantly under the impression that Arenanet only announced, and I qoute: A few QoL updates
While they infact announced major features. (Like the wardrobe, which I absolutely love).
~Sincerely, Scissors
Taimi’s adorable, but naive to the point of being stupid, for an Asura, who are supposed to be brilliant. What’s with all that “When I grow up I want to be just like that (supposedly horrific mass-murderer)?” Spouting out sciency-sounding phrases does not make one an Asura.
She is a child, what did you expect.
Also having a lot of knowledge isn’t the same thing as being smart.

3 pieces max, only in dungeons. And that was a long time ago back when I still learned how to play. It was also because I forgot to repair my armor before I went into the dungeon (the armor was already beaten up).
~Sincerely, Scissors
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
We already have home instance…
Which is not a home. Humans have a district with houses (none of which we own). Same goes for charr. Asura have a Lab, which is also not ours, but is instead owned by our Krewe leader. The only races who even remotely have a home are Norn and Sylvari.
~Sincerely, Scissors
It won’t be housing. Period.
I’m inclined to agree. That would just too good to be true.
Just like Guild Halls.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Well this certainly wasn’t a ‘feature’ I was expecting.
~Sincerely, Scissors
They said they’d be rolling out a few quality of life updates after Scarlet is done.
ehm..
Due to the size and scope of the final four story releases in season one, the next round of major features will be bundled together into a large “feature only” release that will come after the first season of the Living World 2014 has finished.
Not complaining about the upcoming patch btw, I’m really looking forward to it. But what you said is not true, they did not just announce a few quality of life updates
They really did hype it up, especially with this blog list
~Sincerely, Scissors
Try not to expect anything big for these last blog posts. I got hyped up so much by the Wardrobe and sigil/trait changes that I expected similair grand things from the later blog posts (like tradable ascended gear and more weapons for each class).
I suspect that we’ve already gone through the best parts of this patch and everything from now on will be minor at best. Not that I’m complaining though, I’m really looking forward to this patch.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I love it…. people complain when the changes are bad. People complain when the changes are good because they aren’t as good as you had hoped. Really people. If you are just looking for a way to complain go do it somewhere else.
Forums are for feedback and feedback is not always positive.

You guys obviously haven’t played with SweetFX enough to get it looking correct. I can’t play without it now. FXAA is blurry garbage.
This is a screen from the other day. I know there are others that have it set up better than I do as well.

That looks really nice
~Sincerely, Scissors
Reducing the amount of gold you get from champions and events is a great feature! I’ve been waiting for this feature since launch!
~Sincerely, Scissors
All I want is real anti-aliasing. FXAA is stupid and blurs textures.
They already have true anti aliasing
You cannot configure Supersampling. What I meant was MSAA
~Sincerely, Scissors
I hate to be the negative guy here, but this is the most disappointing blog of all (imho). “removing restrictions” could have been something big, something great (like more weapons for each class). But instead we got things that have nothing to do with “restrictions”. I never considered paying for trait resets and armor repair costs to be a restriction..
Not to mention free trait resets should have been part of the Trait blog to begin with (and frankly I thought it already was).
~Sincerely, Scissors
We’ll be reducing the amount of raw gold that comes out of champion loot bags and events in an effort to keep the economy balanced and spread out player activity a bit.
Wow I’ve been waiting for this feature since launch! (not really).
Also free trait resets, wasn’t this already covered in the trait blog?
~Sincerely, Scissors
All I want is real anti-aliasing. FXAA is stupid and blurs textures.

Feedback Thread: Account Bound WXP, Ascended and Legendaries!

Still no tradable ascended gear…. -,-
~Sincerely, Scissors
I would pay for an emote pack in the gemstore, but only if it’s account bound.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I love this change, the less grind the better.
People are just complaining because now they become less ‘special’.
I can understand people wanting compensation though, unbinding all legendaries would be a nice fix.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Eric: We don’t feel that this advantage is significant once people become more familiar with the game.
And thank god for that.
~Sincerely, Scissors
A race because this would mean we also get a new capital, more zones, more cultural weapons/armor and personal story.
A new profession too because then I can make more alts
~Sincerely, Scissors
Then don’t wear one.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Making ascended gear tradable
/hope
~Sincerely, Scissors
Does this “all or nothing” also count for gem store armors? (like magitech)
Would be disastrous if I can’t combine magitech with other pieces anymore.
Also, is it possible to hide certain pieces of town clothes? (like the helmet)
~Sincerely, Scissors

Reading this reminded me about that guy who posted about the renown heart ‘Help the people of Ebonhawke’ in Fields of Ruin. They summed it up as something like, “I was having fun doing map completion, then I get to this one heart and it says I’m supposed to go into protestors houses, drag them out into the street, and kill them.”
The wiki for this heart even says “Knock on suspicious doors and kill Separatists when they spawn”
Only they are not protesters, they are terrorists.
And terrorists are fair game.
~Sincerely, Scissors
It’s because GW2 ANet wants you to see the cultural diversity of this game in the Charr, Norn, Asura, Sylvari, Kodan, Tengu, Quaggan, etc. and not in the human cultures.
They want you to set aside the intra-human cultural distinctions of GW1 because it would be unfair to the new playable races that humans have such a rich history.
They are trying to create an entirely new cultural fabric of Tyria where “species” are important, not “ethnicity”, because this is what they want GW2 Tyria to be now.
They own the rights to the game and can do whatever the heck they want. And they want cats, rats, plants, giant humans, bears, hawks, manatees, etc.
Krytans are white because they think it’s a neutral(and safe) tone.
The average human is not white.
He never stated that.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Yes I would love it, mainly because I like levelling/gearing alts, but I ran out of professions.

If I killed a villain in real life as wicked, twisted, cruel and dangerous as Scarlet I would make jokes too. After I urinated on her corpse (other word got censored).
My point being, she had it coming. She deserves to be ridiculed and looked at with spite and disgust.
In the end none of this matters. Since it’s just a game and Scarlet is a fictional character.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Doesn’t matter to me what day it’s released, as long as I have something to do while I should be working.
Haha, yup this is me to a T.
lazy workers high five
If only my work computer was a high end gaming rig. sad head shake
I’m not being completely lazy. cough It just takes so kitten long to load the stupid application so I can test my changes…. chuckle
Ugh, if this laptop could handle GW2…. I’d be so fired. So very, very fired…. Then again, maybe not. My coworker plays FF on his during the day…
Real life in a comic: http://xkcd.com/303/
Only instead of being social with my fellow coworkers I forum. Lol
I’d also probably be pretty fired. But I have a coworker who plays d2 instead. Eh. And one that does Minecraft.
ROFL!
I have that one hanging on my wall here at work. It’s very accurate in my office. Hell, they give out free nerf guns at our holiday parties as door prizes because that’s a ‘thing’ in our office. I think the other side of the office (different project than mine) has a nerf war at least once a day while they wait for code stuffs. I tried swiping one of my son’s, but he got grumpy that Mommy was playing with his toys…
I did the same, my husband has one of those nerf guns with the discs, and I brought it into work to troll coworkers with….
My husband was mad because I lost many of those silly discs. Lol
lol
Its not like its expensive to replace those things. Such a silly male.
He was more mad that I lost his green ones, because for some reason, the only ones you can buy to replace them are orange, locally.
Haaaa silly boys.
Wow really? lmao And they say women are hard to understand…
I take that as a compliment
A lot better than “men are so easy”.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Being able to change weapon skills would be awesome, but I doubt that will be it.
