The change is like this. A large downgrade of options and power in sigils. Shure this leads to more balance again scrapping diversity. I don´t know who is making desicions but diversity is the main key for long term exitement. Games without options can be fun for two days then i discard them.

They seem so lost when it comes to fixing the broken class balance and lack of diversity that they just do random stuff like this sigil change to create a short time period where people are experimenting a bit. Then they’ll spend the next year wondering why it didn’t work and why they are losing more players.

I disagree that they are lost. They actually acive better balance. But it makes the game more and more booring.

as soon as you use warriors sprint dodged march doesn´t pay off. Also shield master is very good. So no shield and not running discipline yes take it.
I run strengh, defence,berserker with high boon duration. So i use it.

I don´t play for maximum tank but i think the gear is ok for it. I also think boon duration makes more sense then healing power.

Full tank is minstrel. You will be anoying.
I pickes armored attack because i think you won´t need defy pain with nealry 4k armor so you do some damage …

Basially immune to condies unless you somehow throw it but so much cleanse and resistance ….
Extreme toughness + healing …
Warhorn and shouts help teammates but you are not a top support just tank ….
I kept smash brawler so you can hit more arc divider for adrenal health … Otherwise use stunbreak on berserk.
Dodged march keeps strong regen up with dura rune regen to add on signet and adrenal health.
If you think cleansing ire is too much, then maybe pick balanced stance what i did in the build below.

Hi

I just want to get some opinions what will happen if the following skills are swaped. Try to think a bit further even this might never happen.

Staff magneic aura is swaped with focus obsidian flesh.

Offhand dagger frost aura is swaped with focus comet.

So focus loses obsidian flesh and coment but has now three auras on skill 5.

Staff gets invul

Offhand dagger gets 900 range blast finisher + interrupt.

For me it looks like win/win/win for all three weapons.

The good thing on it is, it´s very easy to implement. But we all should be aware that the weight of one player will count more. This also means a bad one or disconnect.

Thats a version like i would do it. Agressive tempest.
Condition removal is the weak spot. You can take eather renewal as emergency. I personaly like the fast cast brilliance which is offensive too.
you can go more offensive using rune of surging (also one of my vaforits for power/boon builds)
If you want more defense use mussels gnashblade food instead of mighstacking.

elemental contigency over final shielding. The build can actually take some hits and it synergizes with boon duration making nearly every hit a crit. You are a mobile lighning storm overloading air every five seconds kiting inbetween.
If you want to go clelestial trinkets feel free. It synergizes with ele, but be aware that your power will drop noticeable for more survivability and some condi damage.

never had a problem with it. anoying that i can´t catch good thiefs but that´s it. They usually don´t kill me and any tryhard died… (I main elementalist and roam a bit with warrior)
I personaly play only a p/p trapper thief for fun. I use traps to reposition and fire a sneak attack. I don´t use other stealth. I need all ini for unload, headshot and shortbow shadow shot to run. My build can kite quite hard. Not shure if the chage impacts me to hard. I use the superspeed and 2s stealth from the rune to kite so guess not this bad for me. The added damage to tripwire is actually also nice for me.

I’ve been on teams that managed to turn 210-420 “lost cause” to a 500-489 victory so yeah, never ever quit. You do your team a big disservice by even assuming you’re going to lose. If you immediately assume a negative attitude, DC on purpose, or start moaning about “nub players” in chat, after nothing but a bad opening, you probably shouldn’t be PvP:ing.

If all players think and act like this the whole game would be much more fun and in a better shape. Reality seems diffrent ….

what concerns me is that it´s 1 second not 2 …. Either its none or it´s 2 but one is bad because it doesn´t synergize with traper rune. Adding the damage is OK and adding delay + damage is actually good but this 1 second is basically also hindering non ghost nice builds. To say i use a power based thief with traps for stealth windows so is can save ini for strikes and do it out of steals. I don´t hide it´s just for repositioning. I even don´t care for the traps damage much might and vulnerability heps to hit harder….
Well i don´t use thief much annyway but regardless of class i dislike nerfing that hit nice builds. Those things reduce diversity.

I personaly don´t force a class in ranked for dailies. I take the daily if it´s ele or warrior and fits the match. I won´t try any other class in ranked just for a reward. I will drag down myself and my team and so won´t do it… If i can´t get three daily in PvP then i get it in five minutes in WvW …

I have seen games swing after a disaster start. I imidiatley adapt and i have seen it yesterday where i were concerned that two thiefs on our side are bad (asked for swap). And we for shure could not hold mid in the beginning but the thiefs adapted and disengaged realy well and we zommed over the map. It was a great match. Necro and ele (me) could win anny 2:2 and hold long enough 2:3 to the thiefs to join. So great when i fight over a point for 30 seconds 1:2 seeing i im going down on 10, 9, 8.. bam oponent down the thiefs are here and off again leting me the stomp … We got behind but totaly outrotated and basically anihilated them … And even with not optimal comp at least four of us were competent with their class.
But shure you need the team for that ….
And yes maybe we carried our Nr.5 and maybe he even did´t know what happened.

yes ist mostly related on dailes and “Class of the Month”. The system no will prefer non stacked matches. But it´s PREFER. If a class is overrepresented it will come to the point where stacking happens.
Per class MMR or removing dailies from ranked matches will further reduce stacking.
But i can say i encounter low stacks. Yes sometiems there are doubles. What i see more is a global class affinity like low revenant and ele “Population”

It´s good to push for more skill and not staying in stealth.

up the activation time to two seconds. I am one of the rare power (hybrid) thief trappers that uses no stealth except from traps to get a short stealth and set up the next strike and i don´t want my 2 seconds superspeed + stealth to reposition ruined after one second :-).

yes builds (and classes) make a large diffrence for carry. Since i main ele i have a hard time to carry bad players while i enjoyed to play wit hgood ones. It was a relive and opened my eyes last season when i did see the positional play and doding of good ones. I could actually fully use my potential and not loose a single match :-/. In low silver it´s RNG.
I actually decided to train war and thief again to get me out but it´s not fun to force players into classes. It actually will lose more players then they will start multiclassing And i mean training other classes to an apropriate level. This is something 90% of the playerbase simply won´t do. So a system that supports multiclassing is a bad idea. This is also one reason i voted to lock professions. Swaping is mainly used to counter oposing team comp.

Hard. If you want to go full DPS to reach other classes level (some AE benefits are in ele), then you go glass and your roll will change. But for the role change other classes have better mobility outside of combat. If i want to outrotate oponent with a power damage build i go warrior not ele …

What works are hybrid builds with good DPS. But they are exactly that. Hybrids that don´t have max DPS, max support, max mobility. Your roll will still be to stick to teamfights but you get better in smaller fights.
I personaly like this kind of build and sage amulet is propably the best here. I run sage + soldier most of the time but constantly look if i can improve the build.
As said the hybrids get stronger in smaller fights. I barely loose 2:2 and still am good in 3:3 and can win 1:1. But the larger the fight gets the more the pure support shines over all other ele builds.

Be thankful you placed that high, a lot of people with 7-3 or 6-4 like you but placed bottom bronze or silver, seen threads/scores like yours and left the game.

Thats because their rating last season was garbage. Either way, shouldn’t take too long progressing up to atleast plat 1 (which is where you’re starting to face decent players in the first place).

The elo-hell isn’t real. If you can’t carry your weight of of bronze, that’s where you belong.

Do you actually believe that this season? I’m in Gold and I’ve knocked people from Silver back to bronze just because MM couldn’t match me with other Golds…. Same goes with higher players, those platinum kittens have knocked me back into Silver a few times, Naru/Vallun did it to me last season too…..

Yes and no, some games are completly unwinnable. One in particular that comes to mind is Vaanss + Xomi duo together with Thijsken + (insert high rated player here due to memory loss) duo against myself, with similar rating, my duo partner with similar rating a low gold duo queue and some random.

Either way, if you carry your own weight you will win more than you lose.

But it´s not enjoyable if 40% of your matches are lost regardless what you do.
Alone that i play in low silver struggling to keep over 50% while i have not a single loss in gold when i duo tells a lot.
Sad but i played over 300 games last season, now i am at about 20 …

I also use lots of commander. I don´t need the extra ferocity or vitality. The boon duration is just great and the extra toughness with warriors self regeneration anoying …

Its a grind if you are placed low. To pull you out you need to play war/mes/thief (high mobility/map control) to a very high skill level maybe (platin +) or you will grind at a 55-60% winrate even if you are a good player deserving gold or low plat.

While thiefs are anoying and stealth on ghost thief is too much i don´t feel they are OP. It´s impossilbe to chatch good one´s that´s some kind of issue especially a psycological ….

Warrior has too much packed on him. Either adrenal health gets some shave or maybe cleansing ire needs some ICD. In total, mobility, CC, damage, condi resistance, burst resistance is too much. There should be more focus depending on build. More offens but less defence and if you build tanky then lower damage …

Condi crono is the most OP class out… Sad but close to uncatchable if good combined with the best duel build out there. You run out of cleanse even if you are a cleansbot …

Well and the epi zergfighting is some kind of failed design … the whole resistance stuff is a fail for me. The game did´t need resistance. Using it as a patch for some out of hand condi builds is not good.

I only play around with celestial trinkets. you don´t need more. Look at the stats from my setup. It´s a well rounded one. Even burn duration has over 50%. For me most values are at a sweet spot. Healing ist not very high but still OK. I stoped using durability. Was a boon machine but got boored. I play more agressive tempest setup again.
An i prefer blood sigil. Don´t like the stacking sigils. But they increase damage significant. Also no vigor on crit i prefer the extry condition all 3 seconds.

You also include fgs as your ulti. I wonder how you use it and under what circumstances?

I use FSG to flee or catch someone. Mostly to “Flee”. I won´t work too often if a Zerg is behind you. Sometimes i escape and sometims i kill with it. Take it out in earth, run away. See only one can follow, so wait for CD´s in a good shape then suddenly turn araound with the gap closer and ram the sword in the ground. I kill 90% of my oponents that are stupid enough to follow me alone (Only mesmer or warrior are hard. Good thiefs know when to disengage so they often escape).


Hmm i got my commander in sPvP last season. I crafted weapons and armor quite classic and used the forge to change it to viper.

I am a fan of vipper scepter ele. But i didn´t count numbers. Also i don´t optimize for PvE i use alround builds so i mixed in celestial, rabid pieces and a wanderer amulet .. Weapons and all three larger armor pieces are viper in my build.
For full DPS yes i would use sinister instead of cele and rabid but i run it in WvW so some armor is useful….

for me it´s all about the cast time for DT. One second for missing a decent player 9 out of 10 times can get me killed …. Well it´s fun to strike a group fighting on a point not looking on the ele on the sideline … When i am behind such a 4:4 and see DT and phönix go through the entire brawl I smile and it often decides the outcome XD.

this is what i agree so i am mixed on this. On one side sigils add diffrence on the other side the class should define your playstyle. So as long as sigils are balaced and enough to adapt to all builds it´s fine. But there should be options for both damage types, utility, healing and defence sigils. Just not some you will always take like air which does realy large damage. And here might be the point. Just tuning down a few might also do the job.
Booring sigils that don´t have a clearly noticeable effect would be bad as OP ones.

Definitly want a third map. But please not full of PvE and encouraging small roaming not Zerg benefiting. Medieval style prefered, but if good asian it´s OK. Just don´t draw in a comic like direction and keep it down-to-earth.

yey the only damage condi digil that should propably remain is the bleeds on hit. Adding condies that many classes don´t have access might not be a good idea. Of course it creats options to use them as cover condies or extra damage. Bleed, vulnerability and criple are common on most classes so those sigils don´t add much. Also a bleed all 3s would only be a slight damage boost giving more sustained damage but won´t help mauch in bursting. Poison is cover, damage and healing prevention in one.

I feel it too. MM balancens sides in total MMR but it happens that player MMR is highly diffrent. Had a match where oposing team had one top mesmer and 4 soso players against 3 good and two rookies. The match itself was very close but mesmer hardcarried the other 4 and only lost if two of the good cought him … The rookies were free wins and didn´t rotate while the good ones could easily 2:3 the 4 soso … So basically it seems the MM works well after Evans last changes, but total player selection has huge skill gaps.

Use per class MMR and don´t allow more then 300 diffence within a match …
If the population is too low then rethink 5:5 and add 4:4 or 3:3 modes ….
And yes in other shooters you can carry because you can eliminate others fast (Headshot …). But this is something very diffrent i don´t want to see in GW2.

I like the last section. I also don´t use endure pain. The only good use is to resist focus bursts. It´s a good skill but i dislike the 60s cooldown and situational usage. I play power (condi warrior feels out of place despite beeing strong) not condi but neither do i use endure pain nor defy pain. I use an armor amulet and trait for armored assault to compensate lost ferocity. For dueling or even 1:2 this is good. When 3+ focus me i loose annyway unless i run before it´s to late.
Let people play their personal style/build. Manny are good, especially on warrior.

I have an idea but might upset a lot of people ^^.

Swap staff eath 3 (magnetic aura) with focus 5 (obsidian flesh).
This would give staff a needed buff and make focus the aura weapon to go. Maybe focus would be a bit overloaded with missile defence then but i don´t think it´s bad.
Even not shure if focus will surive when loosing obsidian flesh but on the other side an aura more syergizes well.

Made to anoy, survive and be mobile. It actually plays it´s thief role well…. Maybe i dig it out and try a bit more …. Not so happy with amulet but destroyer, viper or sinister is so squishy …

I also think in PvE WH is realy good. I don´t use it due to being a bit lazy in swaping gear :-). In WvW and PvP WH feels clunky …. it´s sad because it has some nice things
