scepter eles are terrible in wvw
scepter eles in s/tpvp are mostly bursty spec, like , u kill enemys in 1 sec, but its difficult for new players to set up these combos
and u basically die in 1-2 hits w scepter
but its fun seeing enemys going down in 1 sec then complain about it in chat, so i play w scepter/dagger

Without being drawn into /any/ arguments, I can confidently say I’d like to see the following balance for elementalists and the game that they are in:
*Nerf to strength runes
already done
*Nerf to celestial gear
already done
*Changes to the way churning earth fires off; it should be manual and scaled by how long you charge the skill for
would still be useless
Ele is in a pretty great place right now thanks to the last patch. I’d just like to see some of the things that make the skill floor so low disappear.
Pvp is not the only game mode.
I still have to see anything but thief, warrior and PU mesmer viable for WWW roaming. and no ELE is not viable…. You can roam even with a PVT necro obviously but that doesn t change the huge efficience disparity with other professions.Last ferocity nerf and boon runes nerf was a big hit to a profession already struggling.
WWW has only staff eles in zergs (slightly OP but the lag balance them making them totally unplayable in bigger fights).
In PvE, ele gameplay is a joke based on stacking traits.
Its efficient but it actually promotes the opposite off what an ele should do…. (sit in fire and 5121212151212121 etc or conjure a hammer and 1111111 other weapons exists for stacking might ooc -.-).pvp “balance” damaged GW2 since release i don t want to see any more PvP nerfs ruining other gamemodes.
GW2 won t be an esport….if they want to balance pvp just split pvp skills.

You mean when you press the #2 downed skill? (Vapor form) if so thats normal
No, when you get back up from being downed all the 0 – 9 skill slots are empty just like if you have nothing slotted there at all. Then after 1 – 2 seconds they pop back up. Usually this means I’m downed for a second time since I can’t trigger the slotted healing skill.
u r invulnerable for 2 s after u r up during vapor form tho, i love using it like that
if mesmer has prepaired portal, mesmer wins, pls nerf!
If you use Guard + Jaguar Stalk, you can almost have a perma stealthing pet! Lol

New: summoned elementals AI and speed slightly reduced* for balance purposes and will atk u instead of ur foe

Lay the fire field first, then use Tornado (which uhhh… you’d have to do anyway). The first field down takes precedence.

I think it is sufficient to say that when playing dagger main hand it is best to use another air auto attack than to cast this skill…
its nice weakness tho, i use it right when i am about to change attunements for a whole 6 s weakness on enemy
why do u feel so bound to take condi removal, ofc condi removal is nice and awesome, but builds without condi remove exist as well, u r not bound to take cleansing ire /bow
a lot of builds dont have condi removal in pvp.

and the other 25 seconds? One rapid fire without magnetic aura available and ele is dead

1)axe is a bad stan alone weapon. No utility, just high auto attack damage. It’s only used thanks to sigil of intelligence (no war ran with axe pre 15th april).
2)how can you be in top 200 and not know that lb is mandatory for war thanks to the condition removal? warrior has no active con removal apart from cleansing ire and signet of stamina.
I’m rank 44, and i’ve never, ever, ever saw a mace/gs war in pvp. EVER.
You have to sacrifice a lot of armor and hp, condition cleansing and utilities just to land a skill with less dps than guardian’s gs 2 and 3+1/2 secs of channel time.
Also, I can kill gs warriors easily with a power ranger (and I’ve played no more than 70 matches with this class), and have you ever saw a gs war in a ToL match? I haven’t. Power ranger is more represented than gs warrior!3)warrior’s gs mobility < ranger’s gs mobility. But you can nerf that kitten mobility if you really want, it’s only useful for running around the map in pve.

I have to disagree here. It’s not that turrets have been nerfed, it is more accurate to say that a trait useless in every aspect of the game other than the poorly constructed PvP ambients has effectively been made even more useless than before. What irks me about this situation is that rather th@n using this as an opportunity to reconstruct this trait into an ability that has some actual merit, someone took the easy road and modified a few numbers instead to bandage an extremely niche oriented problem. This is taking the community back to the previous situation where skills like turrets were being altered without current viability and functionality being fully assessed.

u can take arcan power, the 5 crits arcana, use earth auto atk, few times to stak immob, or whatever u want, then switch to fire to land dt and phoenix
i would take signet of earth tbh, for arcan surge u need to be in eart attunement, u dont have heal when attuning to water
made me start lvling ranger, in 2 months i should have enuf skillpts to unlock all traits!

the blast finisher of arcan wave doesnt work 90% of the time underwater
someone knows how to fix / reason why it doesnt / ways to use it properly?
using it mainly for earth 5 for smoke field , currently i am bound to use either water 5 , water 3, or arcan brilliance through it(underwater still)

about save stomps, u can stealth stomp , portal stomp, phace retreat+ blink stomp, f4 shatter stomp , chaos storm stomp (hope ur enemy gets blind or u get aegis on chaos storm)

The rank restriction would imply that r20’s will be frowned upon in S/T PvP, since they will be considered newbies..
There is not much to learn in HotJoin, so they’d be glory farming to get to r20 and then head in S/T PvP, thinking they are “good” at that point..
still better than someone whos totally new to game, thinking spvp is hotjoin
the lvl 80 restriction is bad, rank 20 restriction is good
mesmer and thiefs r totally balanced, hell mesmer is even in a bad spot atm, they r food for my ele
thieves… ppl just cant counter them, dont waste ur cd when they r evading, try to time ur skill so u manage ur skills exactly at end of their dodge animation
small hint: try out mesmer and thief (not in spvp pls, in hotjoin) and learn their skills, know how to counter them
ofc now ppl gonna say ’u cant counter stealth ’ well, the game is about contest, if a thief permastealths he cant cap points. about s/d thief, time ur burst

if it would be wvw i would say ignor them, jump around them for 2 min not atking them, then just walk away
in pvp, its no problem as long as they dont stealth, if they stealth u should be able to cap anyway, dont blast the area w too much aoe, d/d ele has a lot of cleansees(meta build) while ur teammates may not, so try to take more care
i personally play s/x ele so pretty much most of my skills is single target based and can totally forget about on clone death traits on mesmer
i barely play my necro, but when i do, always scepter/warhorn , staff
warhorn is in a perfect spot atm, i just think focus cast time needs to be reduced a little
Conjure Earth Shield: this could really help the weapon. Currently it’s not used anywhere at all ever. Even a stunbreak with a 1/2 second cast time could make it more useful.
One with Air: no, not at all. It would be completely broken for anyone running Fresh Air, giving 80% superspeed uptime.
The trait is terrible right now (though definitely more useful than it was before), but I think it needs a rework to something more like “move 25% faster while attuned to air” and hopefully letting it work under Lingering Elements. The Adept Minor would become completely obsolete for anyone running that trait… but it’s really not useful now anyway.
dont forget max speed is capped at 33%, it would be great against cripple tho, doesnt work on immob anyway, and on chill the mainproblem is the attunement recharge, not the movement
and to get 80% uptime u would need to cycle thro attunements rly fast missing a lot of important skills
and u would sacrifice bolt to heart or air training in a standard fresh air build
but ye even 2 s is fine actually
if someone says that would make earth shield op , no, the invulnerability of earth shield doesnt let u do anything besides beeing invulnerable, in mistform u can stomp /rez, in arcan shield u ckittene skills etc, in earth shield u r just invulnerable (skill 5)
so its pretty much situational , each skill.

I think people has taken the iLeap nerf too much serious. For a lot of people it was the last straw from the last year of nothing but bugs and general nerf of the class, but we still have our strengths.
We’re still really strong in roaming; rangers, thiefs and engis would kill to have at least an essential skill like veil in zergs; and in PvE we still have our unique mechanics.Yes, we’re not in a good position, but it’s also true ours is not such horrible as some people want to see.
tried sword today when roaming, it was terribad, like, sword 3 connected just 30% of the time, it died all the time to aoes, or just leaped away from enemy instead leaping to him.
no more sword for me. i just regret wasting gold for jormags breath skin
