cosa, seed, and king have all been standouts from SF always willing to fight in the open field, WvW has been a blast this week.
@Pulse, that mes would be our GM, he was a stand out when I was on HoD, could not stand his annoying overpowered hard to kill bullkitten mesmer antics, I like him alot more now that we are on the same team.
Its not a warrior issue, bunker BM rangers are that strong. Same thing happens on my necro vs a good one can’t touch them.
What they should do is remove the god kitten jumping puzzles.

Argue, disagree and talk smack its perfectly normal, and healthy. I know being competitive and driven is frowned on these days, but it will serve you well in life if you can manage to do it without looking like total kittens, and even if you do come across as kittens who cares its a player vs player, guild vs guild, sever vs server sub-forum here.
my two cents
I thought/think HoD are quiters to some extent more so then other servers I have been on. I was on HoD the week of southsun, once numbers were even with FC and HoD started losing the flood gates opened commander vs commander in map chat more left then even more.
It felt like the server did not want to fight unless they had greater numbers, the PvE crowd leaving to do the new content I totally understood, it was the main WvWers that quit that week in a rage because they faced even or worst numbers I found funny. Perhaps I was wrong in thinking HoD has a larger then normal numbers of quitters, they seem to be doing fine vs SF this week.

The runes by themselves are fine, comboing the runes with the food (and traits if they are available) is OP against condition builds however, of any class.
Yeah I duel time to time in WvW after winning some people comeback with combos like this. lol gg
There are no rune + food combos that totally negate direct damage builds why is there such a combo condition builds?
If arena net is going to keep this randomized matchup system, they need to consolidate HoD + FC + ET into one server.

toughness + 411
Asended Knights (no infusion)
power + 341 = 7.62% higher
precision + 341 = 6.58% lower
toughness + 514 = 20.04% higher
All depends on how you look at it, over all its a minor gain, factor in armor and weapon stats add in food buffs and you can just stay with exotics and be fine. I would not upgrade from exotic with the same stats not really worth it, however ascended does have stat combos you can not get from exotics or rares that is what gives the real value.
I dont like major gear stat boosts glad Anet did not overdue Ascended gears stats I still think the boost and options are a bit to good vs exotic options. Hate gear grinding MMOs.

No skill lag no ques outside the top tiers.
I have seen pics of the T1-2 zergs no pvp game I have ever played could handle those numbers not even close. You are talking 150+ on screen with hundred more in the zone. I dont know how people could enjoy that kind of fighting even without skill lag.

The problem is, all the false reports for hacking. Many players dont understand other classes. For example a Engineer got reported for ‘hacking’ because he was pulling people off walls. The people getting pulled off don’t have engineers and are not used to seeing the class so they had no idea it was a legit utility being used.
You really need to do alot of work to get a hacker banned multiple screen shots or a vid. The other way is mass reporting you need 10+ people to report, but that is starting to get abused by people getting mad at losing mass reporting someone that out played them.

Yeah, this is actually ET’s full WvW population. Few more guilds moved servers right before the match up. So don’t expect more numbers from ET what you see is what you get.
I think people are having plenty of fun on ET right now, I know I am, all thats left on the server are folks just looking to get some good fights in time to time.
Im worried about HoD giving up it would be be much harder to get good fights without HoD engaging SFs zergs on multiple maps.
LOL, this Filthy bounty thing is cracking me up! He is great at metagame stuff involving giving away his money. Raffles, bounties, what’s next? Maybe we’ll see a WvW JP thunderdome soon?
I hope no one puts a bounty on [ND] because I’m a kamikaze guardian with terrible map awareness and a very sensitive disposition. Plus I might make the local server sheriff broke from buying up my scalps.
However, I’ll be honest, It strokes my ego to no end to see that I had such impact on you all. Really, this makes me look like the most Legendary famous person on any of the 3 Servers.
Yeah I used to think everyone tried to kill me because they thought I was really good and hard to kill. Perhaps jumping up and down on my corpse and tea bagging is a sign of respect, but im not so sure anymore because I die fast, and I’m not so good.

We have done the same to both FC and HoD zergs everyone thats played WvW a good amount of time has done the same vs pug zergs.
Im not really here to defend the ‘skill’ of ET. I’m calling out the former ET folks trolling ET, they constantly troll ET because deep down they cant stand the idea of some ET still fighting despite terrible odds when they cut and run. That is why almost every week HoD has a former ET person/guild repeat the same old thing “ET is trolls thats why I left not because of losing”
After almost a month of constant WvW on ET always vastly outnumbered I have yet to see a troll.
Lots of people left ET for many good reason, because of trolls is a bullkitten one thats not true.
If ET didnt have such ego problems and the people listened to commanders maybe guilds would stick around. The community of ET fights with eachother and calls eachother out all the time in team chat. Why would you expect ppl to stick around a place like tht?
I moved to ET a few weeks back from HoD.
ET has the fewest trolls, I have not actually seen one yet in WvW and I WvW alot. In PvE it has the most helpful people I have seen on any server.
The ET trolls commanders statement is a bull, never seen it happen, its nothing more then something the bandwagon jumpers like to think to feel better about themselves.
Here is the real issue ET has really small numbers, so they lose. The trolls are YOU, I have seen it first hand the ET people that moved to HoD smack talk in /map while hiding in towers with greater numbers then ET never coming out. Oh they claimed they left ET because of bad players and trolls, but I seen the truth these types just wanted to be on the top T8 server with much better numbers so moved to HoD.
I’m going to call it how I see it when some ex-ET/ex-WvW person talks smack about ET.
The players are fine and helpful you just don’t like losing, time to take a look in the mirror is it really the ET players that are trolls or are you just the type that cant handle losing so makes up a millions excuses and blames everyone else.
Play the game how you want, if you want to move/already have moved thats cool, there is no reason to badmouth ETs vastly outnumbered WvW population.
That said ET pugs can be a little hesitant to attack at time, but trolls they are not its the best bunch of people I have seen on a server. /shrug

Any requests for screen shots spiking a FC or SF guild for 1 silver? mend will only cost 1 copper I don’t want people to go broke.

Downstate health is far to high and stomps take to long thats the main issue, its difficult to win 4-1 even 3-1 odds due to the multiple rallies and easy rezzing.
All I can think about is how ET and FC cried about HoD numbers and mindless zerging to win blah blah blah. Well now you have bigger issues. I guess you can cry more, maybe it will help. Probly won’t reduce SF zerg numbers tho.
Shoutout to you KoM for the awesome small group play that i remember. Also to BS first time ive ran into you guys, you are from the higher tiers right? Pretty nasty group synergy. I’m the Guardian General in KING, if you see me any of you can hit me up for a duel, im always down.

1) PvE Zerker geared power well bomber
2) PvP…. Rabid for pure condition, Carrion for Hybrid /shrug
3) PvP 1 v 1 Rabid for pure condition, Carrion for Hybrid. Necro is not considered a strong 1 v 1 class if skill is equal.
Necro is best as min/max build imo go conditions all the way or power crit all the way. Im not a fan of Carrion at all, but many necros swear by it and hybrid builds.
Yes, this skill lock out has gotten me killed. The weapon swap in DS really took away from the ability of all necros to ‘master DS’ right now DS is nothing but a bad damage buffer that lowers your damage output as conditions a considerable amount.
That is the ‘correct’ condition build for tpvp soul marks is a must. Some skip the mark on dodge for 30 DS and stability, I like the mark on dodge.

@ the OP the minion build you listed is not the correct one, the condition build should be 0.30.10.10.20 or something close for soul marks with corrupt boon and epi. Well builds can be tricky in tpvp but with a group on TS/vent will work.
1v1 its fine, but it doesn’t put much more pressure on an MM than it does on another class; we have relatively small CDs. Everyone has to run away after that, but I’d be interested to know how you kill someone with 3k armor and 27k HP in the time that Moa takes 1v1. Look at the players in the tournaments recently, even a guardian with half our HP can get out.
Sure, the cap gets neuted, but they can only use it 4 times per game, and that is a very significant loss in teamfight ability if they go around using it just to get a neut in a 1v1.
The role of a MM is to close point protect so 1 v 1 winning and 1 v 2 lasting is important, its a fill in for the close point ranger mes or eng the job is to also go mid and back again. Moa on a MM might not result in death inside the moa but it puts pets on cooldown you will die soon after that if the mes is not kittened bad, yeah you can run but then you just totally failed your team, better to hold out and hope help can get there…. but a close point defender that cant win the 1 v 1 fights all the time is not good.
Anyway you can do ok with a necro its just not ideal, if you want to do ok with a necro most the builds people post here are not good, in fact they are outright bad.

Honestly, if someone is wasting Moa on an MM, all the more power to them. Its not that great of a use of the ability unless you are relying on Flesh Wurm to get back to defend back point or something. Otherwise you should be more than able to get out of the fight alive (even Guardians can do it with half your HP), and then with Minion CDR, your non-elites will be up within 20 seconds of coming out of the morph. Its annoying, but its not a good use of the ability.

He is not really complaining, probably confused because he is one of those strange birds that would pass a perfectly good arrow cart to jump off a wall and attack.
You and I know better, its best to stay on the wall and use the arrow carts. I know you can understand how confusing trying to use your class can get, there are so many buttons and I never know when to press them so usually die, alot. Arrow carts cuts the number of buttons needed down to 1 thats the only button I normally use anyway but with an arrow cart the 1 key is really strong.
@the Yarr Thief and Ranger if they read the forums, I wanted to 2 v 2 when I backed up to reset and charge there were 5 people behind me sorry about that. Also to the thief it was funny watching you pick people off from HoD and ET zergs.

I think Im at around 800 rating don’t really do much Tpvp these days, but I keep that rating just playing Necro and got there with necro the huge majority solo queue.
If you really are dedicated to Necro send a tell ill give you two builds.
However I recommend putting effort into learning another class if climbing the Tpvp ratings is really something you want to do.

I have had many a discussion with fellow Necromancers who swear by, errr whatever it is GW2 players swear by, that Minion Master Necromancers are a force to be reckoned with in sPvP….Any of you MM force-to-be-reckoned with around to share some hints and tips?
These days I run MM a fair amount and win a fair amount of 1 v 1 however its more a skill level of who im fighting not because its a great spec. I would say at around 90% to lower 1000 ranking it works, when you start to face good players rated above the top 900 or so its not as good, but that can be said about necro as a whole regardless of build.
Best to use a BM ranger for close point holding, they will win all 1 v 1s against any class so long as there is not a major lack of skill on the rangers part.
While we are asking Anet for crazy impossible coding feats I would like to put in a request to fix necro pets in WvW make it so they actually attack things quickly, ohh and make it so necro downstate health is not 1/3 of what it should be.
I actually do like the random map idea, doubt they can code it thats would be alot of work.
One thing I noticed when I was on HoD Bllade, is there are alot more people on HoD, reset night it gets really crazy. I could not walk 10 feet on reset and weekends without 20 HoD jumping into 1v1s.
It kept getting worst every week with more people flooding WvW, my guess was the pve population came out in force when they seen HoD was winning WvW. I have a feeling if HoD is matched up against a T7 and gets even a little behind the PvE folks will leave and quickly.
Its easy to be happy and motivated when you are winning. Its how you act when you are down that says who you are as a server.
Stealth should be like Necros death shroud, you lose all your useful weapon skills and utilities and you cant gain health.
Personal opinion.
As an ex-systems analyst/auditor (among many other things) I have learned that you should not try to design the basis of any system around outlier low probability results.Outliers need to be accepted as low frequency and seen as such and the circumstances that caused them should be addressed specifically…not only through restricting the activity itself (eg is 2 CBs and 2 epidemics produce an outlier you potentially place a DR on them WHEN USED CLOSELY TOGETHER….NOT generally or in different circumstances). It is almost impossible to incorporate system balance to equitably deal with those improbable outliers and the run-of-the mill results that will overwhelmingly be more likely outcomes.
In many of the arguments here, and as seen by the hesitancy by the devs to even contemplate the occasional outliers in out abilities, reasonable suggestions for the bulk of the potential gameplay suggestions are being too readily dismissed by the slight probability that once in a while the planets will line up and some exceptional outcome is possible…occasionally and NOT consistantly.
I think for balancing and skills development the devs should not be focussing just on the outlier results as reasons to limit abilities but should also consider the likelihood of such aberrations and address that as the balancing factor.
Also, Necro players are not some unique breed of game player. I don’t think “blaming the players” for adopting the “cookie cutter” builds because they work is helping anyone’s cause. Other professions are doing exactly the same and it is the comparitive results that are causing players to be gun shy in trying newer builds which usually have proven to be less effective. I trust more the fact that the competively focussed players will chose the most effective builds rather than hypothesizing that the reason for that choice is that they are lazy or stubborn or reluctant to change. I don’t think the players are at fault for expressing their disatisfaction at the poorer necro performance when adopting the same build strategies as any other profession and achieving inferior results.
lol good post but necro used to be overpowered in beta or something like that, so…. necro should be a weak class.
Also many devs have been seen playing guardians more then other classes and a heck of alot more then Necros, that should answer all question for anyone that plays a necro as to why corrupt boon can be blocked flat out fails alot and is on a huge cooldown.
You can nerf bunkers when thief and mesmer burst go DIAF. You want to know why everybody runs bunkers? Because otherwise comes a thief or mesmer and proceeds to 3-shot them.
At least s/d ele has high cd’s on his burst sequences, but thief and mesmer can burst so ridiculously often and negate any offensive on themselves several times over with all the teleports and target drops and invulnerabilities/stealth/blind.
You can add warrior to the list if they could have uptime on someone — these 3 classes will break anyone not stacking toughness and healing power pretty fast.
The HGH engineers is also bordering on ridiculous.
Too many classes can frontload too much damage for balanced builds to ever be viable.

PAXA is getting alot of attention for killing people. I wanted to point out there is another group on HoD doing the same thing, KoM.
I was lagging behind a mini zerg and KoM killed me. They violated a few WvW rules
Dont kill me when you have more people, (but its ok for me to kill you while zerging or using an arrow cart)
Also when attacking a group that has 2x 3x etc… more numbers then you if you start to win its time to stop because clearly they were not ready for the attack.
Its not cool to jump groups in the open field you need to let them get to a tower/keep so they can laydown arrow carts then you need try to take the tower/keep from them regardless of how many are in the tower.
When you die to the arrow carts/zerg hiding in the tower the commander of the zerg will then be able to post in this thread and talk about how it was a good fight yet you failed to take the tower due to the commanders great leadership and tactical skills that would make Sun Tzu look like a noob.
Start following the rules PAXA and KoM, stop killing commanders and their zergs in the open field, also you must ignore solo thiefs because they are supper skilled ninjas that should never die.
Try to get high uptime on group stability two guardians and a ele or two eles and a guardian is going to be very strong.
The other two classes really dont matter but I would recommend 1 person with decent AoE damage engineer should cover that, having someone that can control boons like a mes is a good idea, necro is a great idea but you must protect the necro and peel for them/give stability not sure its worth the effort another eng would probably work better.

All I have to say is that PAXA should start attacking human necros last in group fights. I want to run my glassy solo/dueling build but they focus fire me…. how can I run glassy if they are going to focus fire me?
I think everyone would agree that PAXA should target the guardian or mes these are harder to kill, it would make perfect sense to start on them first.

Im sure its been said here already….. but why are cast times so slow for Necros? Its a fast paced game if we are focus fired we cant even fight back and must go full run mode.
Anti stealth field for warrior would be useful to counter thiefs and mes godmode.
WvW is large group oriented… because there are not healers, the only real group support are boons… you want to remove supporters? they already sacrifice something so they can take boon skills and be usefull for whole group…
AoE boon stripping in WvW just won’t become a possibility against good zergs. The ability of AoE boon application with shouts and combos will always outpace the ability to strip them.
There is your counter sir. People who are real group supporters will find it more rewarding to do their role more effectively when there is counterplay. They still can outpace it. AoE condition removal and boon sharing is rampant and there is no real counterplay.
Finally someone that understands, meta and counterplay. Something GW2 needs badly.
Most people dislike conquest not because its a bad gamemode or because its ‘hard’.
The reason so many dislike it is because its ONLY kittening game mode in GW2 PvP.
It gets stale.

I would also like to see the ability to reset them at mile markers at least every 5 10 points etc..
I think they dont was to give the ability to constantly change the traits because people could swap based on what they are about to do in WvW.
Side note: have the traits been tested? do we know the % damage is actually working dont have alot of faith in Anets testing so have anyplayers tested them?
Most they time its just dueling talking about builds etc…
The few times people have raged after I accepted the invite has been thieves and a mesmer the thieves were just childish cussing then leaving group real fast. The mesmer was rude calling it the win luck…. probably was /shrug
So if its a thief or mes you just beat sending the invite ignore it if that sort of thing bugs you, other classes tend to be chill and just want to duel to try again.
A counter to AoE boon stacking does not make it useless its a counter to stacking mulitples of the same classes right now you can stack away there is not need for balanced group make up.
GW1 you have a melee heavy team dominating the meta, result caster heavy teams show up, round and round. While the always good team is the skilled balanced team that has people that can deal with multiple types of teams.
GW2 has none of that its boon stacking city, GW1 Necros could rip enchants or a ranger mes could rupt skills before they happened its was skilled play because you were reacting to what the other players were doing.
AoE boon stacking needs a counter not like one AoE boon removing class in a group would stop a stacked group of boon stackers you would need multiple AoE boon removing classes… and that multiple AoE boon removing group would get steam rolled by a balanced group. Right now balanced groups are getting steamrolled by the boon stackers.
Boon stacking is top of the food chain and its faceroll gameplay, there is no counter its bullkitten.

I much rather have a longer waiting times and meanwhile go zerg in hotjoin or just wait while doing something else rather than keep getting matches PUG vs. premade over and over and over again.

Plain and simple.Being a premade doesn’t give much of an advantage in this game.
At best it lets you group together individually strong players so you aren’t stuck with a few scrubs on your team, few people use Voip in this game to any advantage in combat, I mean more than what marking a target could do.It is an issue that can generally be fixed with just basing matches on glory rank and a very rough MMR’esque factor.
Listening to people like this is why Anet is failing at pvp.
No solo que = no growth
No real later system = no reason to make a group
Game needs solo que matchmaking, premade groups need to wait in que until another group shows up.
Classes that AoE boon stack and to a extent that single stack have no real counter.
This is a minor issue in PvP and a gamebreaking one in WvW. There is no punishment no counter to AoE boon stacking. Game needs AoE boon rips to make classes that dont AoE boon stack viable for groups and help develop an actual meta.
Corrupt Boon should be AoE, too strong you say? Hardly it would be useless in against teams that dont boon stack and great vs teams that do. That is balance, that is a counter meta. A choice in team make up and builds based on what the other team is doing…. AoE boon stacking right now has no faults its good no matter the situation there is no drawback to it. Corrupt one target and another AoE clears the conditions then AoE boon stacks everyone… nice balance there Anet.
Just getting sick of this games total lack of options for counter meta building. There is no meta in the game all that changes is team comps based on what class gets nerfed and buffed there are no skills to counter popular team make ups like stability and protection stacking for stomps etc.
Thats my viewpoint as a necro im sure some will not agree.
(note: one necro well skill removes boons but thats on a longer cooldown then boon stackers and people must stand in the well its not instant).
Something to reward zerging even more and punish small group play I bet.
tpvp would be fine if the matchmaking would not put a solo queue team with a premade EVER, so premades could only fight premades.
Anet is pandering to a small number of premades, driving away solo queue folks that might have evolved into making a team.
If necro was a good class you would see more of them in tpvp and spvp, these days you hardly ever see one on a premade team.
Cant get away or defend yourself from focus fire on a necro, as more people L2P being a necro is going to get worst.
Make it so a necro can actually stop people even thiefs from running as was a class focus so Anet claimed and things might change a little.
I would love to see necro be a counter to runners and roamers flying around the maps at warp speeds.
It is easy to win when you have the numbers. It is much harder when you do not. Like us.
From what I can tell,. FC actually has the highest WvW pop of all three servers fighting in T8.
