Natures Ninja and Pain Inverter – Ranger PvP movies

I personally would like the ability to decide which stats my Pet could focus on, if for example i could drop my Jaguars Power but increase his Condition Damage up very high that would be interesting.
Or maybe they could add some Condition Versions of Pets that had higher Condition Damage but lower of the other stats.
It would have to be new versions of the pet though, if you change some of the old ones you might make people angry.
Pets aren’t useless
I have the video to prove it ;o)
SPvP is bad because the maps are bad as well as the gameplay, They copied the most disliked version of instanced PvP maps, that is the Hold the Point Maps, because Holding the point is never fun.
Look at something like Mourkain Temple, Tor Anroc, Huttball as actual fun PvP maps…
Is this for PVE or PvP?
for PVE you can really get away with anything, Though i’d drop Signet of the hunt in Dungeons for Lightning Reflexes
Other then that it’d do fine in PVE, PvP i’d recommend Sharpening Stones over Flame Trap.
In my opinion…Superior Rune of the Forge is the best option. 33% less damage for 12 – 14 seconds is huge. Top that off with Companion’s Defense which stacks in duration and Bark Skin reduces it another 30% if traited. I have gotten away from countless zergs chasing me with this setup.
Yea, that’s a possible replacement as well, Problem is I’d have to run the dungeon for it, but yea….I had thought about doing that just for it though.
Been testing out different food/rune setups lately to see if I could manage the P/D a bit better, against the bad ones I normally crush them fairly easily, but good ones can easily turn the fight in their favor and win, mainly to confusing my pet so it doesn’t actually hit anything.
While running around with the burst setup on my pet I thought i’d try a new food setup instead of my old one (mainly because I was removing Lightning Reflex/Pain Inverter from my bar)
I’m currently using Reyna’s armor with Apothecary Jewel/Weapons, This gives me a good amount of healing power/condition/vit/toughness.
But the thing about Reyna’s that caught my eye was the Runeset, which is Melandru..
This Rune set reduces Condition Duration by 25%. Now I have Empathetic Bond, but even with it I still notice Conditions are causing me trouble (Though now that I think about it, Barkskin might be interesting doing this setup) Esp the bleeds from the P/D thieves.
I found that by stacking the food that reduces the duration by 40% as well+vit that I drastically cut the amount of damage P/D thieves are able to put out on me…..From what i can tell, They can maintain about 3 Stacks of Bleeds when I run this setup.
That is far more manageable then the usual 8-9 bleeds.
I’ll see if I can get some video of it, I actually had some really good Natures Ninja footage tonight but I forgot to bloody hit the Record button each time.
But till then, I recommend other rangers out there start looking at an approach like this.
Yea, the Power you get from Sharks is nice till you realize its Auto Attack is awful.
Armor Fish on the other hand, has less power, but its base auto attack hits hard
My sharks charge takes a bunker guardian from full to 25% in one move… there is a specific reason as to why its auto attack is kitten xD
Also realize that every skill the shark uses other than the fear applies bleeding for 5s on auto and 10s per hit on charge, this is BEFORE the bleeding from the feeding frenzy skill btw.
Ehh am i not seeing something on the Charge? It does pitiful damage, like 600…the base hit for Armor Fish is 1000, and will crit for 1500 (no masters bond)
I don’t know, if I had the choice between Shark and Armor, i’m using Armor, since i know my second pet is going to be Blue Jellyfish
@Xsorus did use daoc necro for plvl aswell. But speaking of wvw or rvr daoc necro was insane if not OP at release of the class ( although broken ) for keep defending with the ghost outside and pet nuking through walls :p.
But pet AI and general pathing of pets in daoc worked insanely well and dont actually think ive seen better. kitten i miss my daoc sorc, huge badger pet or a twee i could hide in :o
Yea, but I don’t rate bugs as actual amazing classes, otherwise Banshee’s cone aoe nuking through walls and up floor levels would still be the best grin
I’d say the closest thing to Necro in that game compared to this game was a Bonedancer, which was very effective class.
i even ran a Bone Army one after they gave those mini pets Charge..if you fully buffed them and Got as much Defense on the BD as possible you could bait the hell out of stealthers (Most would open with Mez poison, but Mez poison doesn’t work against those BD pets because soon as you took damage they instant charge the target, making them immune to Mez) and they could easily One round stealthers in that game.
I’d rate Necros in this game better then I’d rate Necros in DAOC for PvP though, and current Necros in Rift (though Rift ones were better in my opinion at the start of that game)
This news about WM is the funniest thing I’ve read all day. What WM did all day every day was roll around with their doom zerg and capping structures with their sheer numbers. It’s the Starcraft equivalent of having all your units in one control group and auto attacking an area.
They rolled over us for a few days until we smartened up and exploited the inherent weaknesses in their strategy. We had their main zerg scouted with thieves at all times. We avoided them on the open field and played defensively so that their numbers counted for little. We split our forces because their main zerg couldn’t be everywhere at once. And since they only had one zerg, they could not adequately defend newly capped structures, which we promptly took back.
Instead of recognizing this and changing his strategy, WM’s leader has posted a long and rambling post on GW2 Guru accusing SoS of planting spies, exploiting and openly admitting to taking SoS’ garrison by exploit in response to his perceived grievances. What a joke. They don’t belong on T1 with that kind of attitude.
Hmm, that’s strange, i could of swore it was just you decided to double team with JQ all night long every night.
My post was regarding War Machine who were trying to roll SoS bl most of this week, and the only double teaming that occurred was SBI and JQ against us. Maybe you are talking about SBI bl or EB (I don’t know, I wasn’t on those maps). Anyway let’s not have another “double teaming” debate; anyone with an ounce of empathy realizes that double teaming in a threeway battle results from everyone following their own best interests.
Ehh no, Every night I see the same thing, JQ and SOS hitting SBI….It doesn’t matter what place SBI is in, What color they are, how many points they have..It happens 100% of the time at night..I’ve seen it, Everyone has seen, So its obvious what is going on. Hell we even had pictures posted of you guys standing 2 feet from one another attacking SBI.
During the day I hardly see SoS attacking JQ, but both are hitting SBI pretty much constantly all day long..Now some might say “Well maybe its cause they’re blue” nope..When they were red same thing was happening as well.
Its obvious you guys have came up with something….and personally i don’t blame you, If ya didn’t hand hold one another SBI would probably run you over… But please don’t act like nothing is going on.
Its sad

Well, I only really use SS when I go into melee mode so my burst is bigger, SS+SE+QZ stacks allot of bleeds while I’m critical hitting them to death. Hunters Call stacks them as well so extremely easy to get 10+ bleeds in 1 second.
Yea I could see that working, for fun I was running my old Shortbow gear earlier….I had 1973 Condition Damage and each bleed from SS was 1100+ was rather funny.
Wasn’t really using QZ though, was pet swapping then doing SS
Na mate nothing personal, I use SS for whole different reason. For my build its perfect.
Its probably better for a Bow Ranger then it is a melee ranger
Pain inverter wouldn’t be as useful for Bow because you’re trying to stay away from people.
Look, lets not high jack this thread with a debate over SS. Just stick to what works best for you PI.
I feel you’re taking it personal that I think SS sucks compared to other abilities and it needs a buff….I’ve ran SS in my videos to prove that it can be done, but I also know that PI is better then it, same with Caltrops. It honestly needs like a 20 Second Cooldown instead of a 45 Second cooldown.
PI is mate. Racial’s are meant to be sub-par.
I can’t believe you said Sharpening Stone “blows”, for build like mine it’s a must.
In comparison to PI it blows, and in comparison to example..Caltrops, it blows as well.
It honestly could use an upgrade, Either a Cooldown drop, or more stacks of bleed.
doozer, I would pick a race which you like the look of “Pain Inverter” will get its nerf soon.
And if you want to play the meta go Bunker or Power Rangers and take month of Sundays to kill anything.
heheh, I honestly expected PI to get a nerf last patch, but i realized it probably won’t..Namely because most classes don’t use it…Cause they have something better, PI really isn’t overpowered, Its just Rangers Skills are kind of Subpar in comparison.
Sharpening Stones is a good example..Its the closest thing to a Condition Spec Ability similar to PI for Rangers.. and it blows…
If you look at other comparison abilities, such as Caltrops from thieves…you’ll see its incredibly weak
Spiked Trap is another example of something that’s basically a poor man version of Caltrops as well.
hmm well that helps me thanks guys i heard charr r good for rangers is this true?
In truth any Race will work just fine on a Ranger, its just the Asura Racial is incredibly powerful for bunker condition rangers.
You can do just fine with Charr though.
what is a bunker condition ranger? and how could i find what the racials of the races are or do they tell me when im creating a char?
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mco
Simply select the race from top left hand side.
Bunker Condition Ranger is basically
30 Wilderness
10 Natures (Or Skirmish for more offense)
30 Beastmaster
You can go to the videos in my Sig to see how I play it, It includes my Specs, and what gear I use ect ect.
Hmmm I played Necro’s in most games..
EQ they were extremely poweful
DAOC – PLvL bots mostly, you could do PvP on them, and they incredibly powerful in 1v1 fights, However since everyone knew they were almost impossible to bring down in fights you simply avoided them, they really couldn’t catch you….Only a few Guilds ever tried making them work in 8v8, Just because you could AF debuff people and have your Armsman train 1 round ya.
Rift – Necros were incredibly powerful early in the games life, Because of Last Gasp…However with more and more health and damage nerfs to the mage class they lost their Edge..But The Group vs group fights we had in Rift came down whoever Necro Died first…Cause I could kill an opposing Necro then turn around and kill any target I wanted because of LG.
This game I think most Necro’s aren’t taking Advantage of their F2 ability as much.
I feel its kind of like the Ranger Pet line, people sort of couldn’t figure out how to work it correctly, But once you realize that you should probably doing Conditions, Then doing f2 for a bit of burst, before coming out and applying conditions again… It’ll end up working extremely well.
hmm well that helps me thanks guys i heard charr r good for rangers is this true?

Currently leveling a thief to play with my other friends thief, but I made it an Asura as well, and I do plan on doing a Pain Inverter video with her.
My Guardian though is Norn, and that would of been a real interesting Pain Inverter class to play.
Asura no question
The Engineer has a spec that can solo people 1v1 and 1v2..
THe Rifle Warrior has a spec for zerg humping…You’re not going to solo anyone 1v1 with a rifle spec warrior unless they’re god awful…..I consider Rifle Warriors flat out the easiest thing to kill in the game on my Ranger.
So to sum it up
Nerf Thieves
Remove Food/and other Consumables from World vs World because i’m a cheap person and don’t want to spend a few silver on these things.
How does your build in PvE, are you swapping anything?
Also, in general, wouldn’t it be better to swap Masters Bond for something else since you swap your pet pretty often?
In PvE my normal build is fine, don’t have trouble with it.
As for Masters Bond, i only have it equipped cause i’m lazy, and don’t feel like swapping when i’ll being pveing later.
In this case, this video I did half with 20% off shouts, and 20% off Survival skills, this let me have both Sickem and QZ at 48 seconds, which was nice.
Did part 2
Well, if any one wants to do what this guy is doing in the video this is your last chance, come new year Anet will surely ‘fix’ it.
On another note, 30 BM+Shouts has burst and sick burst at that, build a bunker ranger and let your pet do the rest!
It can be unreliable though, and you’re honestly giving up Lightning Reflex to do it usually, which is rough…
You could switch out speed though for lightning reflex at a fight, which would work though.
What makes me sad is while this looks fun, you gonna be 30 BM for it…I want to be an archer, but that isnt happening.
I’ve ran it with a full berserker set doing 30 Marksmans/10 Skirmish/30 Beast and using Longbow/Shortbow
It works just fine
I’m condition/healing power base, I don’t hit very hard, I rely on Conditions to do damage, and my pet to do direct damage.
That’s one of the strength’s of the Ranger, in that we can take a completely different route and rely on our pet to cover the other.
Problem is We really do a Power based build with a Condition based pet, as the max condition damage your pet can get is 350, which is to say abysmal.
Did a second Ranger Pet video of my pet eating peoples faces off in PvP, Enjoy
Did a second video, This is a little longer and more fights in it.
Did a second one for ya guys to enjoy
Yea, the Power you get from Sharks is nice till you realize its Auto Attack is awful.
Armor Fish on the other hand, has less power, but its base auto attack hits hard
Wonder how much hate tells i’ll get if they nerf guard.
I will personally drown your little asura body in a river and slaughter and cook your pets.
LOL
You’re going to be super kitten cause i’m working on a second video.
When the game first came out, I don’t know if it was a bug or not, not sure if it even works the same way…
But the Jaguar pet had 2600 to all stats in World vs World, He was hitting players for 13k damage back then, I use to do the same thing and just have my pet run into a zerg stealthed and one shot pop.
I’m actually working on a second video of this since people enjoyed the first one.
I’ve only gotten 4 really good video’s so far though, I’ll release it when I get like a good 10 minutes of it.
Wonder how much hate tells i’ll get if they nerf guard.
You can check my video’s out, I run a very very tanky setup that relies on Regens/Condition Damage..
You can sometimes do bursting builds fairly decently, If you’ve wanted Nature’s Ninja know that I have ran with Berserker Gear using that setup, and If you do Rabid Fire at the time time your pet is on someone, You’ll burst the ever living crap out of them..I’ve killed Thieves in under 2 seconds doing it…It’s redunk.
However you’re squishy as crap…which is why I tend to run the Heavy Healing/Toughness/Condition damage gear.
What is the second song used?
Rise of the Cavalry, It was suppose to put the names at the end of all the songs, I’m disappointed it did not.
Thanks, tho i noticed after i posted that i forgot to count the opening tune
Anyways, the one i was actually after was the one you mentioned at the end of the video (tho putting such things in the description over on youtube may also be nice).
Yea i went ahead and added all 3 sources of the music, I got it from Newgrounds Free Music section where people redo music or create their own. Someone had suggested that after I went looking for a way of not getting my videos blocked in countries.
I need to got through Pain Inverter 5 and do the same..
what kind of gear do you use? you seam to crit alot
My Crit rate is horrible, but my Pet is critting on all his attacks cause he’s got auto crit while in stealth and 2300 precision so yea…

I ended up getting 4 more hilarious videos, I was trying to do Drake and Wolf, but couldn’t get them to work as good as Jaguar though.
I’ll get a few more and release another one…Might take a while… finding the right area where I don’t get zerged while doing it is important ;o)
One thing to say about drake, it’s HILARIOUS to watch people get completely destroyed by a salamander drake because he’s invisible while casting his breathe attack so they don’t know where he is, or when they need to avoid it xD.
Yea, I need to see if I can get the Drakes to work good, sometimes its hard though cause people move…
15k hp in WvW? How an you play with that?
1900+ Toughness
1400+ Healing Power with that setup
I bought Reyna’s though to try vs Apothecary, It lowered my toughness some, but I got 3k more hp which is nice.
i don’t have a huge top of the line computer, In fact I’d say i’m about 2-3 years behind Top of the line today.

heh, I was planning on doing some more videos of this..Another poster talked about using the Wolf to Fear people off ledges in the Jumpin Puzzle, I think I could have fun with that.
SWTOR – Huttball, The fighting is going to be where the ball is, or in middle, The Map is frankly the best designed Structured Map seen in an MMO to date.
Ugh. You are one of them. I absolutely hated Huttball. The map was designed horribly for regular random group play. If you even had a partial premade it was a HUGE advantage because of the way the map was designed and because certain classes were a massive boon on that map. It’s also insanely boring.
It doesn’t matter what map you play, chances are if you have a premade vs a pug its going to = win for the Premade….Though even with a pug in Huttball you could still score like crazy with certain classes…..
Huttball was fun if you won or lost… Nothing is remotely fun about the SPvP maps in this game.
As for classes being a boon on the map, I learned real quick that Certain Classes were absolutely amazing in pug play, however in rated play, every class sort of had a use… Snipers and Pyro Powertech’s for example sucked at running the ball, But absolutely were brutal in the center of the map and that’s how you really won Huttball, by holding the center.
If you held the center, you got the ball first everytime, which means you were on Offense at all times..
In case this stays up and the other falls down
Natures Ninja might be stalking you this very minute
Done for my amusement only, this is not a “skill” video…
Its more for the hilarious nature of Guard in World vs World
This was done for my amusement
Took these this morning, I honestly wish I’d gotten some better clips but I wanted to show the hilarious nature of using Guard in pvp.
Testing a similar version (same exact traits, but geared for 1300 Healing Power) of this build and I have a question. My Fern Hound’s F2 regen tool tip says 13 1/2 seconds. On him it’s actually 18s (awesome), but on me it’s only 10. I’ve got 6 Sup Altruism runes. Why do I only get 10s of regen?
Pet Tooltips are based off your stats..He’s getting 18 seconds of it probably cause of Boon duration from Nature’s Line I imagine, you’re getting 10 seconds based off your actual Boon Duration. It wasn’t 13 1/2 seconds to begin with….It’s probably like 8 seconds to begin with… for him…But he’s getting double buffed by you..
