- Stab plants with small scythe.

Ohh Ohh.. I have never used this phrase but let me have a go at it… [since it’s such a popular phrase within the thief community]
Ahem!..~~ If You played a thief and concluded them to be an average class or a bad class then… Wait for it….. Wait for it…. You need to L2P! LMFAO!!
That is disappointing. I am gonna get it nevertheless.
(points to doll’s face and cheeks) The bad man kept touching me here.
The controllers wouldn’t have adequate support for the game. Not enough buttons. And if you would use a keyboard somehow with a console, you basically have a computer with a flat screen. I don’t think they will do that. Plus are you forgetting that GW2 is more than 24GB? That’s a lot to run on a console.
Here is how it can work for PS4:
Left Stick = Move (tilt left and tilt right strafes character)
Right stick = Move camera (Tilt left and right turns character; center screen locks onto ground targeting)
X = Jump
Triangle = Interact
Square = Auto attack
O = cancel
L1 = Lock/change Target
L2 = Class Specific abilities/weapon set swap (Hold for multiple selections)
L3 = dodge
R3 = Center camera
Hold R1 = Weapon skills (X, Triangle, Square and O)
Hold R2 = Healing and utility skills (X, Triangle, Square and O)
Hold Square = Elite Skill
Start = menu access
Select = Map

Balance only exist for the competitively egotistical players to stop crying about fairness.
Inbalance destroys variety and thats the general reason why it is avoided. If warrior had 100k hp warriors would still have even fights between each other, but you wouldn’t see many other professions out there. Would be quite dull.
208193kittenman.5829:Sorry, what’s the bad thing about this that children shouldn’t see?
Children shouldn’t be gambling.
v That too.
This game is not for children; it is for young adults.
Yes, but does that mean people follow the ESRB ratings? Barely. My youngest guild member is 12 and the youngest person I have talked to in game is 7. Whether anyone believes it or not, children play this game.
Your argument is that we shouldn’t implement a design because people who shouldn’t be playing the game in the first place, would be exposed to it. Seriously…?
In that defense, there shouldn’t be swearing, drinking, theft, murder, violence, abuse, suicide, sexuality, and the big one, love. That’s the cruelest temptress of them all.
You nailed it.
Unfortunately, everything he has listed is already circulating throughout elementary and middle schools.
What makes a good PvPer (or good anything) is being able to think outside the box. The goods will examine the situation at every possible angle, adjust accordingly and then try again.
If you are getting killed, it is more than likely your fault and not what you consider OP.
I made a thief because its fun to tinker with while the other classes felt like facerolling.
Then you play your thief wrong :P
At least I am not playing the game wrong. :P
I made a thief because its fun to tinker with while the other classes felt like facerolling.
You are right, they shouldn’t be exposed to any of that. Unfortunately, everything you’ve listed circulates throughout elementary and middle schools. By the time they are teens they would fully understand every cuss word and taboo subject.
Even though they know about them they also understand that there will be consequences (from their parents and possibly law) if they engaged such acts. Parents drive that fact into their heads to a degree.
Gambling, however is bit different from what you listed because it can turn into a bad addiction. You can say that it is like drinking alcohol but you really don’t see kids getting drunk off this game. I would rather have my kids try a beer than play games that would kill them financially because 99% (1% for the sake of error) of the time they will spit the beer out and say it tastes bad. With gambling, it is just another game and one that can set them up for failure. Games are fun and addicting. Alcohol isn’t fun.

1.) and again you’re arguing with travel speed. Haven’t I made it clear that this is not the reason why I and many others want mounts? If this would be the only reason, then WoW wouldn’t have hundreds of different mounts but only 8 or so (for each race). People like to show what they’ve accomplished. Armor is one step, but you can only equip a certain number of gear at once. Then you’ve got the weapon. A further option in other games are mounts.
2.) With the same argument I could say: NO to different dyes. Dyes shouldn’t be in the game because it hurts my eyes when all of those pink or yellow-green characters dance in the streets. Wait, dancing guys next to the bank… it’s bad too, scrap that. Let’s also get rid of Legendaries, Weaponskins, Townclothes – I hate that boxing-gloves, different armorsets which look too… well see what I mean?
3.) I should respect the wishes of people who are against options? O_o
4.) nobody want’s it because it’s purely cosmetic? Like townclothes, legendaries, dyes, emotes, dances, minis,…. right, nobody wants such a thing
5.) You haven’t given me a reason to not implement mounts but “it hurts my eyes”
6.) So they should stop doing anything that makes the game more immersive or gives the game more to work towards to just in order to fix… what especially? Dungeons? Then you have the dungeon-team who takes care of that, they aren’t responsible for mounts. Or profession-balance? You have the PvP doing that. Or what??
1.) Umm… just listed your arguments in a previous comment. They have no good points to offer. :I
Second, WoW has so many mounts because they can easily implement them. There is NOTHING to travel the massive continents at a good pace unless you have the REALLY good mounts. Of course they would make more and better mounts. The difference between WoW and GW2 is that traveling is easy enough through waypoints and speed buffs that Mounts in this game would be cosmetic. It would just be additional content. While you parade around on your dolyak to Jormag, I already have a head start in killing it because….. I used the waypoint.
2.) That’s great…. sept they are already implemented them and they are already part of the thousands of collectible items. Did you know you can collect dyes too? Weapons are another thing to collect. Amg we also have minis! Rangers collect pets! You can also collect materials for Crafting! Thieves collect tears from the QQ on their forum!
According to your logic we might as well get rid of those too. All of these suck because they make me complain too much. Twisting words is fun, isn’t it?
3.) When you ask people to respect your’s…. yep.
4.) Twist my words more pl0x. I never said nobody wants cosmetics. Not alot of people really want more collectibles either.
5.) You’ve twisted my words so much that you’ve even taken it a step further. Don’t shove words into my mouth.
6.) Oh yeah, getting items and then keeping them is immersive. Adding more collectible things =/= adding immersion.
And since we are on the subject of “immersion” I will tell you how immersed I got without the use of mounts. You know about the tree in the middle of the road in Kessix? How about some krait in the Jungle maps sometimes glitch out as they swim through the water? It almost looks like they are wearing capes. You know that everything you see is a massive clump of prerendered shapes that have not been made into one object and then cropped so that the only thing the game would be registering is what you see and not the kitten underneath it? Did you know its possible to tele into the floor because of it? Did you know it also kills fps? Did you know that culling doesn’t really do much to save fps because, on top of the game telling you that something exists in that spot, it is also trying to hide it? The HUD is loaded and there is no way to free up any space. Guild Management tools are so bad the only way a guild could prosper is if they used programs outside GW2. As a thief, some of my utilities are somewhat useless, Scorpion Wire being one. It gets Out of Range at point blank, Obstructed in open fields and if there is a tiny groove in the ground, Scorpion Wire fails to pull. I am also wondering why I am seeing Larcenous Strike (s/d 3-skill) on top of my Pistol Whip (s/p 3-skill). You wouldn’t know all of this though, because you don’t explore enough.
Mounts will add 0 immersion whether you believe it or not.

Scorpion Wire - Problem:
Randomly gets “Obstructed” on open ground, “Out of Range” at point blank and no pull sometimes on flat ground.
My guess is magnets.
You forget about precs. Personally I would fight world bosses more if they were not crowded with campers.
“because every other MMO has them”, “I don’t want to spend money for waypoints” and “Waypoints stifle exploration” are not good reasons to have them when the game has more problems that need to be fixed. This game does not need more kitten to process.
Seriously…. If you guys refuse to use waypoints (that you must unlock via exploration) because you don’t have enough money (which can be earned through doing anything), it is your fault for limiting yourselves.
1.) not because every other game has them but because it was fun to collect and use them in other games. There are good working systems in other games and just because WoW has it isn’t a reason that something is bad.
2.) I have no problem to travel via waypoint, but why not having both? It’s an addition. It’s something that could be completely ignored by you guys but still you pretend to cut it out because you personally don’t want it and don’t care for others.
Other games have them because there is usually a lack of travel otherwise. The reason why people keep saying WoW is because WoW set the standard for MMOs and their mount system makes up for the severe lack of travel. Believe me when I say there major absence of travel aside from mounts. Seriously, most classes have some sort of passive that gives them a 25% running speed and some traits and skills that grant swiftness.
We can’t ignore them if you guys plan to parade around the big cities which some of you plan to do anyways.
So why don’t you care for other’s wishes too? I mean, saying “you don’t want <blank> because you don’t care about others” is being hypocritical since you don’t care about our wishes either. Some of us would like a better game before Anet adds even more collectable crap.
Nobody wants it because it is purely cosmetic and does nothing to make the game better other than give people something else to show off. Whatever buff it’ll grant would probably be unstackable and inferior to the buffs that professions can already apply to themselves.
I don’t know why none of you understand that. Wanting mounts for the sake of having them is not a good enough reason to get them. It is also selfish when you start justifying your cause by antagonizing the opposition.
This game needs to be fixed not loaded down with more crap.
I would compare this situation with thief nerfs to the creation of skim milk. You heat the milk (QQ about thief) which makes the cream (current best thief build) rise to the top so it may be removed (nerf thief build). You repeat the process (QQ about the next thing>nerf>thieves switch builds) until you have skim milk (profession is useless overall).
As far as I can tell, not alot of people like skim milk.
Does anyone know if they are going to force people to go to southsun or allow people to buy the sickle off of the gem store to acquire it?
Just for the record, if getting it requires I finish southsun events I am going to deduct Anet respect points. :c
MF gets more better loot (rares). That is all it does.
already suggested, and already appreciated.
btw a bleeding rack would be ridiculous as a bleeding golem i think, but that still works on the last…
anyway yes, please, make people running condition happy, because i’m getting frustrated of being less effective than berserkersedit: and fire should burns things anyway
Golems bleed oil. Just wanted to point that out.
Would like skritt character, yes? Could make skritt engineer to place many spinny gun things everywhere!
10/10 The name is a bit unique and matches your Ranger’s nobility.
My thief is named Zack Harte. Even though he of Ascalonian blood, he bears no hate towards the Charr. He is a well respected Lightbringer among his peers in the Order of Whispers.
Peoples’ main reason for not wanting them, though?
“OMG NO, WOW HAZ MOWNTS =(((”
Just because mounts ruined WoW doesn’t mean they would do the same to GW2. They couldn’t even be implemented in the same manner that cause so many issues in WoW because the games aren’t similar enough.
That’s the sad truth. This and “we don’t need them because we have waypoints”.
Hope they work on game than more its content plz?
EDIT: Disregard. Dumb question.
I have never really tried SB too much. I think I might try it again.
(edited by Zacchary.6183)
I do understand, though. The thing is your blight stems from a chain of events. It all starts with the buff to Orr’s inhabitants.
The reason for the Orr buff is because people farm the place. The buff made farming there almost counter-productive and thus discourages people from going there.
If there were more places like Orr (with different themes and without the buffs), then 80s wouldn’t be corralled to those areas, everyone wouldn’t be farming them and Anet wouldn’t have to buff them to stop the farming. No farming nerfs means more of a reason to be there, meaning people will be there to possibly help you.
This wouldn’t be a problem if there were more lvl 80 areas in the world to explore.
I lost my desire for fun when all of the fun things were crowded by campers and farmers. I am talking about bossing.
7. Poor guild management interface.
Dear anet…
Nerf Thief/Guard/Ranger/Mesmer/Necro/Engi/War because stealth/buffing/pet/confusion/stupid/idk/facerolling.
Can someone complain about something else? Like how much freaking loading has to be done at any given time?
Imo the problem here is NOT the thief community, we get along just fine and if you search a bit you will find that every question has been answered and help has been given.
The problem is the NON thieves that come here to cry out for nerfs and insulting us for outplaying them. Obviously we will reply in the same manner as we were spoken to.
lol It’s funny how every oped class in every mmo think they are out playing the rest of the player base . Bright Wizard in WAR, Warlocks in WoW, Sorcs in SWtoR the list goes on and on.
Maybe they are outplaying everyone. I mean I had a hunter on WoW and I could kick anyone’s kitten 1v1 including warlocks. The reason why I could, though, was because I built my hunter for high single target CC and DPS which countered a majority of the players because they essentially cared more for numbers than survivability and tactics. AoE is nice but if you are hitting 5 people for 7k each and I am hitting 1 for 12k, I might have 1/3 of your DPS but I am killing things faster than you.
It is no different with thieves. They are meant for high single target bursts and thieves will use it to the fullest. Its a play upon strengths with the cost of being a walking marshmallow.
Its all about planning and execution. Planning is part of tactics. Executing those tactics properly is what determines someone’s skill level. A good majority of the time, your own death is due to ineffective planning a/o execution on your part. Copying people, following groups and facerolling will get you killed.

If my guild ever hit 500, I would just start a new one and combine them into an alliance.
Simple.
It really isn’t this simple. The amount of time it would take in this second guild to unlock say guild missions would be prohibitive. It would take weeks, maybe months. People in that guild simply couldn’t participate in Guild Missions with the first guild, because they couldn’t rep it, and so couldn’t get personal rewards.
If the first guild is well off, you could have maybe 100-200 of your members temporarily represent the second guild while building it’s numbers with recruiting. As membership and upgrade availability increases, the temporaries can slowly leave that guild. Those who wish to stay as part of the new guild’s staff will get kicked from the original.
It would be harder to build from scratch like you said but the original guild can still remain active while alloting it’s resources to get the second guild up quickly.

Oh god please no. Let them continue playing Call of Duty, we don’t need that crowd here.
You don’t know it yet but they are already here.
Player-Organized alliances still exist. It usually requires a chain of command leading up to the Alliance Leader. If one was to expand past the 500 limit, the AL would have to assign Guild Leaders. The original could be turned into an Alliance administration guild where its purpose is to assist the child guilds that branch from it. Of course, every GL would have to coordinate with the AL to help maintain them.
Throw your claws in the aiyah, if you’s a true playah.

Lol everyone else is saying its OP. You think it has something to do with playstyles?
so why should I have to pay for exploring, can you tell me that? I’d gladly pay for travelling because it’s there to let people play with their friends at any time, but eploring via waypointing is just immersionbreaking.
You don’t. That is the beauty of having choices. I choose to use waypoints because I can. Unfortunately, I am paying a few silver each time I use it. You choose to not use waypoints and are paying for it with hindered mobility.
It only seems immersion-breaking because you limit yourself.
Not really. You run around the map until you almost got every point and then you use waypoints to get the ones you missed.
you must have tons of money, I can’t do this, sorry.
Now you are making excuses. Spend 30 minutes killing everything while looting everything they drop. You will have well over 5s even on bad days.
I would feel less claustrophobic if they did away with map boundaries. You know… have a seamless world?
I think Dirty Kick should turn into Drop Kick that knocks back instead of down. This should only work if your target is close.
Not everyone is a dude. Remember that.
They should make Legendaries feel legendary. As they stand, you get a skin (hooray) after months of grinding. Not everyone can nolife like some people. Not everyone has the money like some people. Not everyone likes skins.
Striving for a legendary is a waste of my time imo.
It does reflect and its kind of contagious. I know you either glanced over and ignored the point of this thread:
Let’s just say, hypothetically, that after a few more months of stealth QQ that Shadow Arts becomes completely useless no matter who you are. How would you redesign it?
If it is OP then exactly how would you improve it? That is all I ask.
@ Lokheit
I know that. This was a spur of the moment explosion of imagination. I do agree that most of them are OP but I did that for added discussion material. This thread was meant to be a non-serious screw around thread, something to get away from the constant QQ :/
Then explain how they are OP. If you bothered to read my explanations for each of them you would see that they are not as OP as you think.
Here are some more of them…
After reading up on critical hits, CnW is useless vs. high crit rate because crits can’t become glancing blows. Even if their crit rate was too low, taking only 50% of the attack every 8 seconds isn’t that much of mitigation.
Mmt doesn’t work on every skill seeing as how some thief skills force you to stop before executing. The only way you could get the full effectiveness from this trait is if you equip pistols or sb which are already weak unless you run condition. Not only that this trait is best coupled with high precision which can take away from other traits.
TD is based on Aikido which doesn’t hurt the opponent. If someone stole with TD the damage would be as bad as the first attack on their 1-skill. Then there is the CD on steal. For it to be more effective you’de need alot of points in trickery so you can keep applying knockdown. If you were to put 30 in WM and Trickery, you also be wasting points on condition damage unless you plan to use conditions anyway. In fact, Dancing Blade would be better for condition builds. If for any reason you wanted both traits, you could do so but that would require 20 in WM which is 20 points you could better use for your build.
My point is that using any trait in this line is situational because none of these help collectively augment the thief’s mechanics. They are only useful if your build can use it and none of these really burst builds very much UNLESS you invest 30 points in it for Reckless Abandon. That still requires some risk and its 30 points you can’t spend on anything else.
That is how I see it.
This is a good thread. One question though…
souls (if some still have them)
What sort of blasphemous concept is this? There are no souls in the world of gaming unless you play Dante’s Inferno. >.<
(edited by Zacchary.6183)
