What Abigor said. There is infact a timer, it just is longer than what you say. I wasn’t even really afk when it first happened to me, I was just chatting with my guild while standing around dancing.

You don’t need a big guild… a small one will be just as good. It is not the quantity of the members that matter here, but if those that are there are friendly and helpful enough to accept and help newcomers.
Personally I will rather help out a newcomer with storymode dungeon low level fractals or whatnot… than proceed at the higher levels with all the elitist. Just my opinion.
There are nice people out there, that will help. Not everyone is only thinking of their own progression.
I for one know that if I get new members in my guild that is not as far as me in regards to dungeons, I will help if I have the time. And I expect my members to be the same.

I like Trahearne, he is a good character and the voiceacting fits him. Yes he is no Tybalt or Rytlock. He is not meant to be like them, being different from them does not make him a worse character. I don’t feel that he steals any glory from me, I just wanna do my part in saving Tyria. I for one will stand by his side and protect him from this hateful mob, I am not his sidekick, but his friend and as he trusts me, I shall trust him.

Yes I also like Logan, he made a mistake… a big mistake. But he is only human, a mortal man… in love. People do stupid things when in love. I was so happy to see him and Rytlock at least trying to get along, trying to forgive and mend old wounds.

I even liked Kormir, that she never was any help was a mechanic… people should get over it… honestly rather have her stand there and do nothing than run off and die cough Rurik cough Master Togo cough So she rose to Godhood, that was hers to take, yes it can seem unfair to the player, but what did people honestly think? What would be off the game if we had become gods? How exactly would that have worked in lore? My human mesmer is blessed by Kormir, and proud of it.

I agree with what athuria said.
I don’t think Anet as a whole got 1 favorite race.
You could argue for humans getting most attention as most armor is seemingly firstly made for them, then fitted to other races.
You could say it was asura for the reason that they seem to take up a good role in certain events (imo not really that big a role that it matters)
You could hold on the sylvari due to the role they apparently play in the personal story atm.
You could also say charr, because we got charr plushie (no other race has a plushie), we got Rytlock in the CE and we got Rytlock mini.
And although I cannot think of anything that show special attention to norn as of right now I am sure they will get attention too.

I was going to find an anime dance to add… or some kinda more traditional japanese or chinese dance as I do imagine tengu having a sort of asian theme going. Got tired of looking.

I did try search of something similar, if anything on this have already been up, my bad.

So some times when trying to get a party together for a dungeon or other grouped thing (mostly dungeons) I have found that at times we have come together say 3 people. Ofc. I (or other party member) goes lf2m dungeon x mode/path/level y. This can take some time, and sometimes before anyone respond to this I see equivelant search lf3m dungeon x mode/path/level y.
The natural thing is to merge these 2 parties to make a full 5 man party, however one of the groups have to split up to do this atm as you cannot join/invite parties while you or they already have a party.
One time splitting up caused one of the other members of my group ended up not getting in, because in the time it took us to split up and join the other group they invited someone else. I felt a bit guilty about that and can only imagine if that had been me.

So I suggest the option to merge 2 parties as long as they don’t exceed the 5 man limit. Would imo make it more simple, if just a little, to get full party for stuff.

My charr is dating Rytlock, true story. I know, who would have thought that Rytlock would fall for an ashie, but although being a thief and ashis she handles herself well in real combat too. He didn’t stand a chance when faced with her feline charm and dignity.

My sylvari is still single though, as is my asura.

Guilds are likely to be improved on in the future, Guild vs Guild does not seem that unlikely to make it eventually. Although the name of the game has to do with lore that dates back even before the events of GW1.

No asura do not have fur. Only charr (of the playable races) got fur.

Thing is though it is not everyone that want this. Some of the things you decide on character creation should stick and be unchangeable, race and profession are the only things that you cannot change now, so already got good chance to renew the character without rendering everything in creation void.

Sylvari can insult yes. Perhaps often unintentionally, what with not completely understanding that certain things can be insulting.

Do you turn light on/off in creation? Make sure to check what the eyes look like in both? I do that when I play around with sylvari creation, because a few eyecolors have big difference for night and day.

I meant more “clean” human / elvish faces. Right now Sylvari Females have one “normal” looking face that doesn’t have big disney eyes.

You can eliminate some of what you call disney eyes (I disagree to this view but whatever) by further customisation. Just make the eyes smaller with the slides. Sylvari are not humans or elves, there has to be some sort of planty features or it isn’t sylvari.

It annoys me every single time. They did this in GW1 though and it was there in all of the over 5 years I played. Funny it did not bother me all that much there, but here it does.

I am with you on this. It just felt… wrong. I mean I did get a team, I did complete it eventually. But I postponed it for a while. I was thinking how is this MY PERSONAL story. I only got to do some “hack and slash” while someone else got the scenes. I do like to play with others, I really do. But I also like my story to be well… mine.

There is no need of mounts anywhere. The only reason to add mounts would be because SOME people want that speedboost, or SOME people want that “shiny” to show of and brag about. While another large group will find them aesthetic horrors (me included).
Mounts seem mostly unused in lore (and yes lore DOES matter), and there is no mountlike creatures seen in Tyria. Mounts would also have to be racespecific, as charr and norn clearly cannot ride the same things as humans and sylvari. I know people have formerly suggested machines for charr and etc. to get around the… there don’t live any mountlike animals anywhere. But yeah.
In case you did not notice I am against mounts, and honestly a bit tired of seeing it suggested again. You should use the search tool. Mounts have been suggested before.

Oh and before this get merged or closed (not a threat, just something likely to happen) prepare yourself for this to get out of hand as there will be 2 strongly oposing sides to this. And their best arguments are “want” and “do not want”. Hopefully Anet will keep the game as it is (mountfree) and not listen to all the “want” guys.

My bet is that they simply decided to move from original design, maybe due to whining coming from gamur gurls.

My sylvari likes bacon very much. She also likes chicken quite a bit. She makes some really good omnomberry bars.

Fionghuala is one of 2 chief skritt in that place. The other one thought it was an awesome idea to brew beer and drink all day. Fionghuala disagree to this, mindless, behaviour and that skritt should work and not just drink all the time. Your help is to stop this drunken behaviour of the skritt. This is stopped by some asura that have lab nearby, thinking that the brewing machine thing is actually some devious device, as part of a small event chain (2 events).

So Orr is a bit painful to travel through, I get that and I agree. But it really is not that bad… I like Orr, it is…. challengeing. Yes it is less colorful and whatnot… but it is a land of the dead. I have been underwater rotting for centuries. It looks the way it should.

Well, the biggest problem is that you don’t have a lot of other options for getting materials for lvl80 crafting from the other areas… There are only two other areas that have some of the T6 materials. So, you’re virtually forced to go to Orr unless you want to farm for the gold so you can buy that stuff on the TP. And that would be a sad state…

Ok did not think of that… maybe because I don’t do farming as it is boring to me and I play to have fun. Not done all that much crafting either.
However I still like Orr and since I know some of that farming is done in groups it is less bad. Or like… I think it is what it should be. Difficult, challenging and deadish looking.

Well, I don’t like farming. But I do like to stay in an area and, over the course of a week or more, raid each node several times, while doing events and simply just enjoying the scenery (and a harsh scenery can be enjoyed as well, as long as it’s well made!) But from what I’ve heard about Orr, that simple wandering around isn’t possible there. Or rather, unless you’re part of a large group, highly annoying.

It’s one reason I’m putting off going there…

But it is Orr we talk about, it is the center of the dragon corruption. It is simply not meant to be a walk in the park. It is meant to be life threatening at every turn.

@Kyosji.8961 So you should get something on the alt although you clearly completed on the main first to get to try on the alt? While some didn’t even get to complete it on their main.

I have to agree the beta version looked better. Impractical… yes… realistic… no. But whatever it looked good and thats what a lot of people want in game right.
Hard to find a “skimpy” armor for my fem sylvari ranger. I know the t1 med armor does show belly and such… but her back is completely covered up… I want the back to show… cause it… you know… glows. But I never get to see it.
Honestly I think I have seen more heavy (and ofc. light) armors that are revealing than medium armors. Give us some more options pls.
Also for the males, lets see them flex that muscle. :P

Beta one DID look better. I don’t even have a heavy armor character, but if I did I’d want the beta set and not the new one.

I don’t, I love my ranger very much. I also love my thief. One of my guildies play necromancer and he actually called one of his skills overpowered and meant it. Not everyone is hatin or pessimistic about their classes, I guess… those that are happy with them just don’t see a reason to go on the forum talking about that class.

Alright… parts of it is semimedieval… oh but there is siege GOLEMS in WvW too. So castles just disappeared because of advancing in history… Only the human royalty lives in castles anyways… and you know what… real life royal families (some of those do still exsists yes) also live in castles to this day.
Either way Tyrian history is not the same as Earth history.

PART of the dungeon story focuses on Snaff. 2 of them as far as I know. And yes I did all of the storymode dungeons. So 2 out of… how many dungeons… focus on that? That dungeon that seemed mostly about kodan was actually about Snaff and Inquest? Funny cause I did not see a single asura in that one… or in Ascalon Catacombs… or Cathedral of Flames…
There are tons of events that has nothing to do with asura.
Fractals would not have made sense with any other race. And the main event of Lost Shores had nothing to do with asura.

You facepalm? So you think the game is actually black and white and all asura the same. No shades in any of the races at all? You deny we only got part of the information for now? You really think we already know all there is to know about the event from what little there is there?

The world does make sense… to everyone but you apparently. And well Anet made the world, lore and all that. Not you. If they deem it fitting it fits. Sure there are openings and “holes” in lore, but that is not always a bad thing. Anet intentionally keeps some things open so they can expand on it.

1. GW2 does not have the classic medieval fantasy theme. Humans are sort of renesaince (stuff happened in those 250 years). Charr are quite advanced in sort of… steampunk/gearpunkish stuff (which actually fits fantasy). Asura are tech… but magictech. Sorry but not all fantasy is not always medieval (I like that type too and had difficulty accepting guns in GW at first). But seriously… if everyone was so… conservative… about what fantasy is and should be, there would be a lot less fantasy books/stories/games etc. out there.

2. What is this misconception that asura (magic)tech does not work? Sure some if it blows up, but eventually asura inventions DO work.

3. No idea where you got the idea that asura get all the attention… really this is the first time I see one in the limelight like this.

4. Not all asura are the same, it is not an entirely black and white world. He might actually want to see others happy too… and yes get lots of attention… who doesn’t like attention.

5. We got like… a tiny introduction to one thing that will happen. I am pretty sure what we se here is not the only thing that will happen. It would be strange if do not see some of the other races also take part in this, so just wait and see.

6. As far as I know Anet makes the lore. You really think they don’t know what fits in THEIR world, THEIR lore.

hmm a mercharr… wonder what that would look like… Anyways as long as costumes stay as they currently are (not useable in combat, but good for brawling, mainly in towns) some slightly more silly ones would be fun

I think this is in the wrong subforum as I see no suggestion here.
However, TheDaiBish had some good questions. Maybe there is something you are doing wrong, and it is easier to help with some information on what you do, to see what you may or may not do wrong.

@Altariel: That old screenshot was from before the sylvari got a rewamp to what they are now. They were changed because they were not enough plant and too much human/elf. Those other 2, while very lovely are not quite…. sylvari… either.

@tigirius: Those others are however not sylvari. Sylvari are not like other plant people. Yes there are similarities, but they are definitely not the same. That said… adding head option with freckles would be cute, could be either part of body pattern or bioglow maybe. Still gotta keep it sylvari. Oh and we DO have the ability to change looks now. Just check the gemstore. Don’t think there are new options in that.

Instead of thinking hair, think plant. Think branches of different trees like willowtree. Think leaves of various kinds like maybe fern. I would actually love me some fern"hair". Although I love my sylvari just the way she is and likely will not change her, and don’t plan on making another sylvari… at least not anytime soon.

Right so: more “hair”, face, body, etc. types yes pls. More options is always good Unless it stops having that sylvari feel.

Kill variety is the best of the dailies there is, don’t take it away. And it is definitely possible to get within one zone, think I don’t most of my dailies while in just one zone. Only ones I had to move out of to get the daily was Orr zones.

Ofc. pirates does not count as human. There is charr, norn, asura, sylvari and even a quaggan pirat (although you do not fight that last one). Having them classed as outlaws would make sense.

See there is achievement for getting cultural armor for all the races. Implementing this would risk making that too easy.
And yes it makes no sense to change race. Yes it is a fantasy game, but there’s still some elements of reality to make it believeable.

Ok I think I get the idea… it is not removing PvE, and such as others seem to think.
However I still disagree to the idea. The problem is not the game design, Anet wanted people on all servers to do some of both, keep both active.
Then people went I PvP, everyone who does PvP should come to this and this server. Then PvE’ers go to this server. The community, possibly unintentionally, created this issue to come extend.
Sorry, but don’t change the game… just… change server, if the one you are on is not suitable. Just like you would not stay in a guild where you did not fit in.

I like the story as it is and chaning it now is a bad idea.
Suggestions for what to better in the next expansion would be better.
But I personally always like the stories Anet made.

But the idea of having that LA arena, and fighting various creatures in there.

So it was not just me that thought asura stormtroopers… those I was in there with didn’t even respond when I said it.
I have not even seen the movies… well not all of them.

Not having openworld PvP is not a blunder. It is right as it should be. Don’t mess with the PvE aspect of the game.

Seems there is differences from server to server on this. I can asure it is definitely NOT everyone that is already at 5. I am at 2 too. Considering my experiences with pugs, I am hesitant to do more with such. Might bring my guild into it, even if that means I have to do difficulty 1 first again.
I don’t give a kitten about the gear (will get there eventually) I just wanna have fun.

Race change just don’t make sense. If the problem is that most items get soulbound… just change more items and iquipment to accountbound? Making certain stuff accountbound rather than soulbound would imo be better.
