In regards to what asura is… which is definitely not rats… they are sharkbunnies.
And they have hands… definitely hands.
I feel the same. I do like some outfits, but not more than I like customising my looks.
I think its to do with the rewards – if your friend hadn’t unlocked the same or any of the rewards that the merchant sells (gives you for free) or the exclusive pets that live there then they would have access without having ‘done the work’ to get them.
^My thought aswell.
If there was made a way to avoid guests getting those rewards without having earned them, themselves, I would be alright with inviting guests to that instance.
I kinda like it the way it is… don’t see a need for such big changes as you want.
Sure the sliders could do a little bit more and a few other little things.
But unlike you I do care that monstrosities from character creation does not exist in this very aestheticly pleasing game.
Hello !
Yep this is why I currently have only 5 characters because there are 5 races.
Elementalist – Human
Warrior – Charr
Engineer – Norn
Thief – Sylvari
Guardian – AsuraReally hope Anet will release new races in order for me to create four other characters for the four remaining professions :-).
Best regards.
Bahan
I do this too. Mine are:
Ranger – Sylvari
Thief – Charr
Necromancer – Asura
Elementalist – Norn
Engineer – Human
I would also love new races for the very same reason…. at least tengu… I would love me a tengu guardian or mesmer.
First when I saw the title of this thread, I thought it would be something with complaining and a silly suggestion… sorry, but I can be a bit of a pessimist sometimes.
I was wrong though. Your reasoning is pretty good and the suggestion not unreasonable or bad at all. I can definitely get behind this idea. +1
I don’t know if Anet would want to do this, what with encourageing to buy more eternal tools or something…
But I would absolutely love this.
@Shylock.4653 Much better with a “small bit of low level content” than more raids. Raids are for the “hardcore” people and completely unaccessable for the even slightly more casual players… and this game have always had an attraction to the more or less casual crowd. Fractals is just kinda boring.
I personally enjoy stories/lore and exploring openworld areas more than any of the other stuff in the game. Sadly I get more and more bored of the game the longer Anet focus on pvp and raids.
While I cannot say which group is the majority/minority (no one really can), I definitely know I am far from alone on this.
@bloodletting wolf.2837 I would consider it way more than just a skin. Areas, story and lore… way more interesting for me than even a new profession.
Gawd it would be so awful if it was possible to give fur the same colors as hair. Absolutely horrid.
@penelopehannibal.8947 While tonics would give the look of a “new” race, it takes away from everything that would make a new race interesting. I would be very very disapointed if they went this route. Much rather live without if thats what they’d do.
@Teofa Tsavo.9863 Why not? Just don’t play it if you don’t like it (I know… crap response). Tengu are not that (or not just that). In GW1 Factions, we had friendly allied tengu, and the tengu that were hostile, were not exactly at war with the humans, the way charr were. Actually… thinking about it the human race could be considered murdering xenophobes in the past aswell.
I want a new race. Just one would do, but it absolutely has to be tengu. Can’t see any of the other races that are not yet playable become so… yes I can’t see kodan as playable, sorry (I would not complain if it happened though).
But yeah don’t see us getting a new race, tengu or otherwise, anytime soon… if ever.
As of right now they should just focus on giving us LS3.
I think you look fabulous
Not heard of dye discrimination before, but then I generally avoid pugs in the first place, seeing my playstyle conflicts with theirs… to some extend at least.
Maybe it is so that stuff take up less space in your inventory, untill you do open those bags and boxes.
I do like the idea of an open all option though. But I guess the reason… or one reason they havn’t given us that yet, is the risk of running out of bag space and then get x amount of stuff that does not fit, causing more problems.
That already happens, when you open a bag and not everything fits then you get a pop up overflow window with the extra loot and can’t open any more bags until you empty that overflow.
This “open-all” should behave the exact same way.
I know it does that. But that’s what… 3-5 items at most doing that at a time. Imagine how inconvenient it becomes with 10-20+ items or who knows how many it can become if you got a complete stack of some bag and little to no room left in your bags. So what I mean with more problems, is that this would be considered very inconvenient and annoying by some people and thus cause more complaining, wanting some solution for that.
Now if they can find a solution for that or a method to lessen that problem I am most definitely all for an open all option. Really I would love that. But I am not blind to there also being problems with how it would currently work.

Why make a legendary if you don’t like how it looks? Would it not be easier to get ascended if it is just about the stats?
Just genuinely curious here, not hatin. I guess it makes sense if it is for the ability to swap stats at any time.
What’s kind of funny is a lot of Old English names are actually still in use so some sylvari NPCs have completely lore appropriate names which also sound like normal everyday names to me.
It’s a bit jarring with the fantasy setting and the wide variety of names to find your companion on your Wyld Hunt to decipher the meaning of your Dream is called Gavin.
Well the same happens with nordic names for the norn. In GW1 there was a major norn npc with the same name as my dad among others. I don’t find it that jarring at all though… actually I find it somewhat amusing. Names for fantasy games have to come from somewhere afterall.
OT – I currently have 2 sylvari, named Night and Laughter in irish, google translate was my way to find them.
I will never really be truly hyped about anything in GW2 again.
At least not untill it is comfirmed what something is going to be and it is actually something I care about. Even then it will probably still only be mild hype.
Reminds me how I got slightly upset that, when the year after I got my Carlotta mini they changed the way you get her… from buying the set of 3 minis in the gemstore and combining them in the mystic toilet, to a candycorn vendor item. It certainly seemed a lot cheaper.
But I got over it…. so many other things to do with my life, than be upset about some virtual spider I bought going down in price.
So yeah… I do actually get why this is a bit upsetting for you, but you will get over it.
Never liked SAB, so could not care any less about that at all. I would like new legendaries, but I am quite fine without (I get why others are mad though)
I have however been waiting for something to do since I completed HoT, so I am looking forward to LS3, whenever that is going to start. Now I don’t mind waiting, that much, but prolonging that wait with development on SAB would be very very annoying.
I am not hardcore or a roleplayer and I chose to do the journey for kudzu. It just seems more of an accomplishment and will make the legendary feel worth more to me, even if ofc. technicly it isn’t.
From the very very begining it bothered me that I had to buy my pre-cursor on tp… getting that lucky drop is just never going to happen…. ever… so I was thrilled that the old ones got a journey too.
The crafting part is kinda tedious, but not tooo bad, unless you are in a rush… which I guess most people are…
I definitely enjoyed the collection journey part so far, way more interesting than the alternative.
Not denying there are issues with some of the collections, but that aside I very much disagree that the journey should not be there for the old pre-cursors… despite all the faults in it, it is still one of the things I am very happy ANet did.
Well I wont be quitting entirely anytime soon… I think.
But I have gone way more casual than I used to, taking longer breaks from the game and only do a little bit of stuff now and then, when the mood is there for it. I will be back for any new episodes of LS, play through those and hopefully enjoy that. I will probably still buy the next expansion, when it comes… not sure if I will pre-purchase though… depends how things work out in the time to come.
Careful what you wish for… you might get bedsheets instead.
Anyways… no… not bothered.
It would make sense yes.
I think the reason they are still seperate and might stay so, is in the case of people that don’t have HoT, but might choose to, don’t encounter too many spoilers. Only reason I can see for it anyway.
I dislike druid too and been kinda disappointed, that I was unable to enjoy the elite spec for my main character.
However… I know that is just my opinion of the druid and others like it and at this point it would be foolish to replace it.
So I happily play as a simple ranger still and hope that maybe, the next batch of elite specs will bring something for ranger that I might like.
Well I would like a blue themed glider that is not locked into a package deal with a bunch of other items I don’t want.
I agree on the shape of the wings though. Never really liked the black/white wings, since they looked more like feathered blankets than wings to me.
It’s okay
I don’t blame others for prefering Tybalt.
You like what you like, sometimes it is the same as what most love and at other times it is one of those that can seem more overlooked by the majority.
I love the ever so overrated charizard and I don’t care that it is.
And yes nostalgia and “the first” have a remarkable effect on whats to like
As likeable as Tybalt is, I feel he is kinda overrated. But whatevs, people love him and thats okay.
Just a bit sad that Sieran and Forgal doesn’t get a lot of love too :/
Personally I loved Sieran the most.
Lets ask Al.
But the tengu already have a city… we can’t access it, but they have it.
Don’t think it is in their lore to have floating cities.
Might be something more for the djinn things that were in GW1 Elona.
Well…. shoulder skins (aka armor skins) was never able to be mixed with outfits. Been like that since forever. Should have known… but eh can’t know everything.
It really does suck.
Not really a fan of outfits because of such mix and match becomes impossible.
Is it okay to use a name like that though?
No to pet flocks. Can’t really see that working.
Don’t we have a raven already?
And I do play ranger as main and would love more pet options.
The gliders and outfits currently exclusive to bundles to be purchaseable as single items.
Each of the outfit bundles that has been released has included one token for acquiring a single skin from the Immortal Weapons skins set.
There are 16 different types of weapons.
It would not surprise me if they have another 14 outfits and glider types already in process, all with the aim of being released in these overpriced bundles.
I fear that you are right about that… I really want a different glider, but if they are gonna be exclusive to more bundles I wont be getting them, as I cannot justify it with wanting only that one item and not the others. Guess I will have to make do with the boring basic glider for a very long time still…
You should definitely add a spoiler warning yes.
Tybalt is overrated and Trahearne hate is too.
Could not kill Braham, clearly the new group is taking over from the old one… you know the group you lead, because everyone hated not being in the lead in the first story and thus hated Trahearne.
I miss my mentor too, her death had me right in the feels. I was shocked to see Eir die… and she will be missed too. But had it been Braham I would miss him too, I do like him, (and his hair) I like all the in the new group you lead… and I liked all the mentors, although personally back at the begining I liked Caithe best… I still like her, but I don’t favorite her anymore.
Anyways lets say everyone feel the same about the characters that you do… killing off a character that you find endearing or strong or for whatever other reason love has a much bigger effect story wise than the death of someone you did not like anyway.
I 100% agree… I am quite upset that I can’t get the glider now
I first saw this glider skin days ago in the hero panel and I was so happy, because it is the first glider skin I like. It was not in gemstore yet, but I thought I’d make sure to have some gems ready in advance, thinking it would be sold on its own like the exalted one… and it really should have been in my opinion…
I do not want the new outfit, I do not want the dye kit, I do not want the immortal weapon and I do not want a makeover kit…. the only thing I want is the glider… but now I can’t get it
I do not have enough gold or enough money in rl to afford the full appearance pack, not even considering that it would be a waste for me to buy when there is only 1 of the things I actually want.
The pack should be for a discount on the items combined, should still be able to get the items seperately too.
But… Kudzu IS epic.
But opinions I guess….
Some players wanted to feel the epic journey to craft precursors, and not simply buy it from TP. Well, you guys did get what you wish for. I enjoy the old system where the precursors are extremely rare drop. The excitement you get when you get that first precursor drop is amazing.
Only for some people that first drop never happen…. ever…. So instead of the excitement of that amaizing drop, it becomes oh look… another year and another thousands of hours spend without getting one. And buying of the tp… well… not exciting at all.
I like the journey actually… personally I spend time, rather than the gold… yes I need loads of wood and leather and it will take a long time for me… but I already waited 3 years for the chance to make one… I can put in the time. I did not really expect it to be too easy or fast to do.
I would not really want the glittering backpack as it is as a glider… but I would love sometihng in the style which was larger (like current gliders) because well… it would look stupid with how small butterfly wings and glittering wings are.
sad to inform you there wont be any content for a long time as after the expansion comes out new content will be coming for said expansion so dont expect anything worthwhile anytime soon
at least thats what was said at some stream once
Think it was said somewhere that holiday events would still be a thing… such as halloween and wintersday.
We do get halloween at least, and I am sure we will get wintersday too… probably nothing in between though.
However my thought is… we will/are getting halloween and wintersday, but they will be copy pasta of previous years, with new decorations for LA at best.
Despite having pre-purchased myself and that I played since the headstart without ever seeing a precursor… I am against this idea. Just doesn’t seem right… yes I would love to get a precursor, but this way would just seem wrong.
No I am happy with getting to craft mine, get that feeling of accomplishment with it.
The same main as I chose for the release/headstart of the core game. Not gonna change main for an expansion. My ranger all the way.
I might equip the elite spec, but only for a trait or 2 in it… don’t particularly like it otherwise. All that healing to me is very meh.
Why would there be crystal nodes in those maps? The reason there are some in Dry Top is because it is where the Sanctum thingie crashed, which before then was the only place to have them, and that was not even a permanent place.
So my guess is there isn’t gonna be any… I could be wrong ofc.
I really like the hairstyles of sylvari females actually. Using one of the shortcuts from the kits myself.
But I am always way for more styles and I guess it would be nice with more long leafy ones, as opposed to the short leaves and the branches.
I am sorry that you have experienced harrashment. I tried that in GW1 and it was very hurtful. I often question why people think it is okay to say anything they please to others and then blame the victim of having feelings.
If the ingame report function is not sufficient, write a mail to support… add screenshots and describe what they do, if they do more than just talk trash. Block them and maybe keep a low profile? Don’t let it be other people driving you away, if you otherwise enjoy the game.
While I like Tybalt I also find him a bit overrated (sorry), but I loved Sieran a lot. So yeah, while ofc. Tybalt clearly is a fan favorite and thats ok, can’t stop people from liking what they do, it is a little unfair indeed.
Would love for this to happen, but unfortunately I doubt they’ll do that.
I am most sure halloween event will still happen although it is awfully close to the release, I think it will be after that though and not before.
Can definitely hope they will make a bit special about it, what with the release of HoT though, that would be neat, compared to copy paste last years halloween.
And that is why I rarely do even dungeons, because that is the type of people I have come to expect for that type of content. I am overall a pessimist about these raids in the first place and a comment like that just proves why.
That said I definitely want to be able to assemble a team if I find some people that are actually friendly and try these raid out.
Everyone regardless of being elitist or casual should be able to access any content and find likeminded groups for it, which I am sure will be ANets philosophy on it too. Those elitists will still get to those raids much faster, learn to clear them faster and get the gear faster (probably) and thats all cool… They will still get the “being first” priviledge they can brag about, untill the casuals slowly catch up.
I love sylvari, they are so interesting, so aestheticly facinating, much more so than any other race in the game. Just my opinion ofc.
I do main one and I would never want any other character as my main. She loves her mother, the Pale Tree, but she will not follow anyone blindly… not even her beloved mother, she is no minion of the dragon, she defies Mordremorth and will slay him so that all sylvari may be free of his curse.
