Problems?
It’s only a problem if you insist to farm the points and the people that think it have any indication of skill.

I hardly do all dailies… sometimes I barely even get the 4 for monthly… and don’t even know how many monthlies I never did. I have a fair amount of the permanent achievements, but solely because I thought it was fun to do. I have skipped a fair amount of any event achievements, if I did not enjoy it… APs are just not that important.
The problem is not in the game and the way to get points… the problem is with some people using them as skill indicator… and if there was not APs there would be something else.

I do not approve of this idea. For one… why would anyone do something that cruel to quaggan. And second… really… can’t be keep real life sporting events outside of the game… pls.

Ok so I see what the OP is saying kinda. The game still have loads of potential and even Living Story. But I also see what everyone else is saying…. for all we got most was temporary and what little permanent there was (there is some, so saying there is nothing at all added is bs) got exhausted. I have been bored too honestly.

Throughout season 1 of Living Story I still believed that we would eventually get an expansion, which I think would have been more safe for them to do… if only because people know what it is, rather than the this Living World.
I lost hope for such an expansion about the time they announced season 2 and as such I felt more anger and sadness about it than the excitement that some of my friends had.

But then I read about the changes they are planning to make for Living Story and I allow myself to be just a little bit optimistic about how it’ll pan out. I still don’t believe Living Story is a good replacement for a good old fashioned expansion…. but I think it might be able to get there.

All in all I still love the game, and I wont be quitting it anytime soon… I might spend a little money here and there on some gemstore items… but mostly I wont for the time being, despite having done so before. I have accepted that this game if for moderation… it is not one I can spend all day and all week in, but rather some hours in the evening and perhaps not quite every day… which honestly is fine… maybe even healthy in the sense that, that way the game does not consume my life.

Confused what it is you are trying to suggest… but looking at the strawpoll… am I correct to say that the idea is for Anet to make a new mini, sell it in gemstore, but the money for that specific mini all go to adding a new profession to the game?

If I am right… I am not sure what to think of it… kinda don’t see the point of it.

I think the petals on fervid censor and desert rose is slightly different so not 100% the same with new color. Might just be me, still like 90% the same minus the color.

Anyways yes. Purple flower would be cool… while at it give me a blue and a more pale pink. Maybe some slightly different flower design…. even if it is as little as a vaguely different shape of the petals (which I think is the case of fervid censor/desert rose)

My pet never agros stuff if I don’t want it to… Use guard when I want to pull or avoid agro. Easy.

Considering they said that the festival of 4 winds lasts untill the living story starts again Im going to say that it is very unlikely we get dragonbash in before that.

Playing a sylvari ranger I definitely want more skimpy armor, no matter what anyone says there really are NOT that many options for medium armor users and those that are there are restricted to norn and human.

More of either for light and heavy as those 2 seem more even in skimpy/nonskimpy to me. Saying all light armor is skimpy is nonsens… there are plenty that cover up, they may not be as stylish, but they are there… maybe some more middle ground sets, formfitting, but not skimpy, covering but not a cloak.

I hated being at Vigil Keep.
It felt biased towards 1 out of 3 orders to me, though I knew it would make little sense to have all the things at any of the other orders, but still felt so.
It could never replace LA, also at least on my server people did all that chat and having quite a few people at a time in the areas where stuff was.

Without having seen it or tested it and this is infact the first I know of such mini I am going to say… no. No it cannot swim.
Why I think so? Well so far minis that resemble ranger pets, those that resemble pets that swim, which include bears, felines and drakes will swim too, and minis that resemble terristial ranger pets that do not swim does not that includes canines and the pigs.

I have not made extensive research admittedly and have not checked every mini of all the types, but from the few I have this seem to be the case and thus its my best guess.

I know this topic have been up plenty times before… and some seem to be against the idea, think Living Story does the same and from what we know it is not likely to happen.

But I would really love one… makes me a bad sad that there is hope for one as it might be the only thing that can make me really love the game again. To me Living Story is as far from an Expansion as… as… cola and a burger… 2 completely different things, good together, but very much not the same.
And how is Living World chapter that dies after 2 days, though it lasts 2 weeks better than working the way through the permanent content of an expansion in a month?

Maybe Living World can get there, make it expand enough on everything and not be all temporary to be considered more on par with an expansion… but as it is it is absolutely nowhere near that.

How exactly would they make pixels feel pain? Would it not lead to an ai so advanced that it would be somewhat imorral to use them for our entertainment?
How do we know if they feel pain or not? Maybe they already do?

Maybe you mean that they just add mechanics that make them act like in pain when hit by conditions and all that… in which case it is may be considered emergeing for some, while others might feel it is too much… betya more PETA people complaining that it is possible to kill innocent animals in a game.

I say follow the directions given in the game when the event hits and find out what you wanna do there yourself.

Just checked and found out that it was because I hid the headpiece of my armor… had no idea that ifluenced outfits… So yeah delete this topic please and sorry for the inconvenience…

Now I have come to terms with the change to costumes, don’t get why they were changed the way they were.

What bothers me now is mainly with the charr. While everyone else if stuck with the headpiece that was/is with each outfit, charr are completely without. This makes me sad, especially with the excutioner outfit, which I got as costume for my charr specificly because it was the only one to date that I liked for charr. The hood was a large part of that, but now it is all gone, and makes the outfit undesireable for the very character I bought it for.

I am not that intrested in a refund, don’t know for how long you can ask for that anyway, but would much rather see the headpiece on charr outfits and not just the other races. Better yet make the headpiece for each costume/outfit optional… for all races. But at least let my charr wear that executioner hood when she puts on the outfit.

Fern Hound, Krytan Drakehound, 2 types of wolf, hyena… seems sufficient to me.
Not against a couple more dogs though, as long as other pet types would be added too, give me a few more big cats and some aquatic pets like manta ray/sting ray (not the kind from ingame, the real kind) or somesuch.

Gemstore ranger pets… yeah can’t see it happen… would exclude all those who does not play ranger.

PS. It is called a ranger in Guild Wars, not a hunter.

I don’t see that ever happening or working.

I remember the dailies being like this before they seperated pvp and pve, something that back then made me very happy and which I have enjoyed, because I got more options without being forced into something I dislike.
Now it is back where it started… and to me it seems like they first made an improvement just to then take it away again.

Yes dailies can still be done, but as others said, you have to try more. I most certainly am not inclined to try pvp more because of this.

While I agree that some permanent content is due, recuring events are good too, it would be wrong to remove Halloween or Wintersday and DragonBash goes into the same category, having those does not prevent permanent content.

Weeeell. Wintersday had new achievements and slightly new twist to it than the first time, as did Halloween. So given we did not see the exact same achievements etc. for those I foresee that DragonBash will offer different ones than last year too, so it is not the exact same thing. A question of what Anet comes up with.

Here is me hoping that LA gets at least somewhat inhabital before then, I want LA back
And then I hope Zephyr Sanctum comes back too, that was way more fun for me than DragonBash.

I never gave it a single thought, if males or females looked better.
I chose solely females, because I am a girl and I prefer my characters to be an extension of me, so I feel weird playing male characters.

That said I never thought they had better animation or armor. I genereally find those of my friends with male characters that they put a lot of work into look pretty good too.

I did consider making males too and would have did it not feel akward for me to play male characters. At least for sylvari, human and asura. Maybe also charr, though less sure… norn is the only one where I find most male options kinda ugly… but that is because I don’t like bulky characters.

I always thought about Living Story as about “content filler” in between expansions.

You know, like a little epiloque after the expansion “ends”, couple side-stories which would be short and be different plots around the world and then some content introducing another step.

Thats actually how I would like to see it too.

It did say limited offer when you could get them… buuut that is not to say it cannot come as a limited offer again sometime… in which case I hope the other baby animals do too as I only got the kitten and the hippo. Would like to get the lion cub too.

Expansion.

Its not that I hate Living Story per se. more that each part only really is intresting for a couple of days and then you sit down and wait nearly 2 weeks for something new to happen, and in that time things just seem boring.
I definitely do not feel that LS can do the same an expansion would, and I would be very sad if the next dragon was fought as part os some temporary LS and not in a new part of Personal Story… and yes, to me Personal Story and Living Story are worlds apart in what they offer to me.

As far as that post, it was what they hoped to do and not something that was definite.
But I sure hope they are at least working on it.

I think it would not really be a good movie tbh. BUT. If it should be given a chance it should follow the same style as the books did. Being a different story at a slightly different time than the one we experience in game, so as to expand on what we already got, rather than just taking what we have and try to make it fit another media. Maybe that way it wont be a total failure.

The time setting I could see working would be, somewhere in the 250 years between GW1 and GW2, we got the 3 books, but I am sure a lot of other things happened in that time as well.
The time prior to the GW1 era, with the actual guild wars and ancient lore.

Some unique story unlike the ones we play through, but within the world and lore frames.

Buuut I dunno… to make it a proper good or at least decent movie, it would need a tonne of money, which could be used on making an expansion… and I know which would be most successful at making me want to play some more again… and it is not the movie.

The topic of armors and how they look will always be a matter of opinion. I for one like the new sets, but I hated some of the previous ones… which some actually seemed to like… so yeah… there is no way everyone will ever agree on this matter.

Its not like you have to get them anyway… just wait and see if something comes about that suits your tastes, maybe try some more mix and matching, way easier to preview all options before actually spending now too. Sometimes what you perceive as an ugly set have just the piece that makes your mix perfect.

Ah yes, I am among those wishing I could see those places again in GW2.

I am with Nage on this. Yes I think the game is a bit boring atm, but not because of the combat mechanic, but because I quite simply need a break and things seem less intresting after the living story ended.

I play this game for story and the art, it could have almost any mechanics as long as they were easy to approach.

There is no way the HoM items should ever make it to gemstore or any other place in game… as others said… work for it. Or hope something else slightly along the lines might make it into the game.

There are no white roses… Maybe you are thinking of the back pieces Fervid something and Desert Rose, which is not what this topic is about.
This is about the toy that you could buy in the gemstore around Valentines Day, this and last year. If one of your back items are gone that is a serious issue too ofc. and might want to contact support about that also.

OT. I suppose if it really is all gone, contact support… it is a gemstore item, which you used gems on, which might as likely be real money as ingame gold, so they HAVE to do something, preferably give you the item again.

First off. I actually like the newest sets, for a change I could actually consider buying them, or at least medium, if it was not that I have become so bored of the game :/ which makes me sad, because I loved it so much and want to keep loving it.

Anyways. Though I like these new ones, I would also chime in on bring back GW1 armor, though I think some exaggerate the amaizingness of them somewhat, sure they were good, but there were crappy ones too… will never get the love everyone had/have for mesmer armor… anyways. I would like even those sets I did not like that much in GW1 to make their way to GW2… as long as it also includes a few I did love.

I can actually see why sets from Factions and Nightfall would be difficult to implement as some of them are sorta orders armor, like… what would be the reason for Sunspear armor with no Sunspears. How does Imperial armor exist outside of Cantha, especially with them turning to xenophobic, they definitely would not make it fittet for other races. Still one can dream.

As another note, some of the hero armor would be neat too…
Koss starter, Jin Primeval, Sousuke Sunspear, Melonni Primeval, Magrid Ancient and Primeval, Razah Primeval, Zenmai Primeval, Jora all 3, Pyre Deldrimor, Livia Deldrimor, Gwen all 3, Vekk Deldrimor, Anton all 3, Xandra all 3, Hayda Brotherhood. This actually adds some old asura, norn and charr looks too, which would be extra cool. Like a heroes of yore collection. Meant as a tribute to ancient heroes in regards to lore.

With only 3 points all that you get is boots, leg and chest armor. You get it inside the Hall of Monuments which you gain access to with a portal item. This item key thing you used to get from some trader in LA… no I don’t think that npc is there anymore, but surely he is somewhere…

The thing that is the most disapointing is the original townsclothes being a tonic. It was my favorite look on my sylvari as no armor really is what I could hope for. But now this one thing is taken away from me. And it is not something I bought, so can’t get refund. May consider refund on my costumes though… still… you can still dye it and so… just weird that the hood on the executioner outfit does not show on my charr… the very character I wanted the costume for WITH the hood.

Overall I am a bit undecided on the whole costumes outfits thing, seems to work more along how it did in GW1. Do not like the idea of some of the items (original townsclothes for one) being a tonics, thats just …. sad.

Have you talked to the black lion armor thing person npc that was added? You need to talk to one to be able to use all your costumes and toys. It also takes all you had eqiupped as townsclothes pre-patch and put it in your inventory, you cannot access it without doing that.

Never heard of the term WH be used before either.
They are just gone? You did not use them (as in double click them to get charges). Or they are there and you did not know you have to double click them to turn them into charges? If the latter just do that. I am taking they are just all gone though, where I will suggest you check all characters. If still not there, contact support.

I am from Europe too and don’t see this issue at all.
Patches and updates have always been some time in the evening. Was in GW1 and so it is here in GW2. Actually kinda like it, because then if I have things to do during the day I can do so and still be back before the update hits. Only a few times it have been so late that I was better off going to sleep and see the new stuff in the morning and well… that is ok too… unless it is a one time only event with no repeats (which only happened once and was such fail that Anet wont do it again I am sure) I am not really missing anything.

That would be sure to make me want to avoid all lvl 80 maps at all costs. Lucky for me it wont happen.

Well your impression of what it is supposed to be is wrong. That simple. Charr were always big.

I really recommend going with what you like for race and profession and not let yourself get dictated by others.

Yes there are issues with armor clipping and just generally finding something really nice for races other than human, but it is possible and imo sylvari, charr and asura are the most intresting and fun. Especially in love with sylvari, both lorewise and just the variety in looks you can get with them in creation.

Yes some people will refuse to party with you if you play ranger, but as long as you learn to play something other than bearbow and do well, you should still be able to get groups with nice people… even less of a problem if you get good friends and a guild to do things with rather than some randoms. Warrior is getting favorticed a lot… by players and the devs… apparently, but don’t play it if you don’t like it, the game is meant to be fun afterall. I have 5 characters and not a single heavy yet.

Server depends if you wanna/are EU or US. I cannot help with US as I am in EU. All I can say about EU is that Far Shiverpeaks is fairly decent, at least I like being there. Heard good things about Gandara.

@ eye floater: Not really too concerned with that. I know I am not the best writer and never intended to be… its just meant as a little fun way to understand my character more… mostly for myself, but I thought… why not share.

@ chesirefox: Thank you, and yeah, in a way it is nice that what you do is somewhat remembered, but just doesn’t seem right. If my name is there, why is Braham, Jory, Kas and Rox not? They were there too, and unless they are complete blabbermouths about not really contributing that much, no one else should really know exactly what happened in there. And I was unsure where it would belong, so if it gets deleted or moved… so be it.

I always thought names were gamewide and not just serverwide. I mean you have always been able to change server or guest at anytime without this ever being an issue. You cannot guest to servers of another region, but you can move there, with server transfer. Dunno how many have done this, but still never heard of this being an issue.

Soooo I would not worry, I am pretty sure you are the only one the game with the exact character names that you have… if not at least the only in the region.

While it is intresting to see other peoples ideas and such I am actually happy letting Anet manage the rebuilding of Lions Arch… sorry but I don’t trust “normal” people to do it in a good way. Besides it is probably already decided what will happen. I look forward to getting back to a new LA.
